Are people starting to lose interest in these?
>>11588377That's too bad. I think these things are kind of cute. >>11561581
>>11588377I was never interested
>>11588377I knew about them before the kpop thing. Never liked them.Modern labubu fans are posers too. They only like the plush Keychains but ignore the figures.
>>11588500The plushies are cuter/more appealing than the figures though
>>11588377Probably, it's a trend so by nature it's fleeting. At least Funko Pops had the appeal of characters from your heckin' favourite IP. These are also a trend among social media women, which means they will stop giving a shit when they stop getting attention for it, so it's even less trend-proof.
>>11588602>At least Funko Pops had the appeal of characters from your heckin' favourite IP.There's been a number of collaborations, so you can get The Monsters/Labubu dolls related to your heckin' favourite IP. One Piece, for example. Sometimes the collaborations involve characters from the other IP and other times they just incorporate another brand's design elements but not characters per se.
>>11588377Fads like this rarely last longer than a fart. You're about to see these little shits pop up on ebay for dimes.
>>11588377i'm more baffled at why Pop Mart didn't follow up the Monsters vinyl line after Have a Seat. they have a cash cow in their hands, yet they never took the opportunity to make a new set.
I hope not. I need it to last long enough the black fufus are available in my city.
>>11588377Casuals who collect them because they're fun are growing tired of never finding the ones they want the most thanks to scapers. It wouldn't be the first time scalper greed killed interest in something.
>>11588377what do normies who spend so much money on them do once the hyope is over?
>>11593181When the prices of Beanie Babies crashed in late 1999 and early 2000, most people who'd bought them at high prices kept holding them. Only a minority sold and took the loss. Perhaps the market had become so illiquid that most people couldn't tolerate such a large loss.Maybe it'll be the same for Labubus, but the situation is a bit different. Online resale markets are more established now than in the 1990s. Pop Mart will probably have a steadier hand than Ty (which was erratic: it announced it would stop producing Beanie Babies, then reversed its decision). So maybe it'll be a slower decline and only in certain parts of the world. So more people might sell their Labubus at a moderate loss instead of holding them forever.
>>11593261Scalpers are still being greedy dicks, and they'd rather sit on something until after it's too late than sell it at a realistic moving price to get it sold. Like with these Halloween ones; they won't sell for half of that price in less than a month.
I got a clownworld labubu otw, paid a reseller but not too much all things considered.
I kinda want it
>>11588377I wish.
Labubus is such a lame slopit's worse than funkoat least once in a while funko makes a cool monster figure or robot
>>11593786>paid a reseller but not too muchIt begins
>>11594339The fun part of labubu is dressing them up, customizing, sewing them little things.
>>11594386I don't care. I'm not purchasing mine to speculate or resell and $130 guaranteed is better than gambling.
>>11588377I wish. Still a pain in the ass to get them. People acting like they are easy to get like Yugioh cards or something. Hopefully it can die down a bit so I can actuslly buy a few.
They never made a tycoco so what’s the point
>>11593150"Scalpers" just put them back on the market. The "final" buyer ultimately creates the demand and lowers the supply.
>>11593282Look in the left corner of your image. The seller lowered from $94 to $78 and completed listings show there have been plenty of sales around that price. Most sellers over time adjust to market price.
can anyone tell me what the faceplate is made of, i've read vinyl or rubber, which is it as i plan on doing a custom and want to get the right type of paint (not acrylics)
I started with labubu but i like the other stuff popmart is selling, like the twinkle twinkle why so serious one. do want! but they are like $42
>>11588577Paint doesn't chip on the plush and you can take them around. They're far more durable. Kinda hard to carry a figure around if they're designed to just sit there. >>11605187This was the plan all along. Labubus are pretty basic, but it's Skullpanda and all the other designs that are really fun to collect.
