at a Target
the only reason I picked this up to look at it was to check out the clearance price on the sticker. I thought Target had old Xbox 360s?

I was shocked to find out it was... a Mega Bloks sets?! whoa! glancing at the package, you'd never know! it totally looked like a real XBox 360.

my friend said it's not accurate because it didn't include the Red Rings of Death lol
(you'd know what that is if you had an XBox 360!)

it's Mattel's "Minifig" that LEGO CANNOT COPY! take THAT Lego!

I'm not sure it will work, but it's good of them to try. Lego's Speed Champions sets are among the coolest sets Lego offers, and these are direct competition to that.

I think "Mega Bloks" was replaced by "Mega (in the block logo)" to somehow seem cooler, and now they switch to "Mattel Brick Shop" they must be so frustrated they think Mega Bloks name is consumer poison. are they right? or should they have doubled-down and kept going with Mega Bloks and not admitted defeat?

Have some pícs I've been taking. Pyrates is so fucking kino. It's funny, I recently acquired the Lego Black Pearl (the old one, not the new one) and holy shit my Pyrates ships blow it the fuck out of the water in quality and size. The Lego ship is fucking tiny. Granted, it does have a tiny ass captain's quarters while the Megabloks ships don't have anything, but the fucking pos doesn't even actually have a deck! Imagine that, it's just this empty space that is supposed to be the below-deck area but there's nothing above for the minifigs to stand because lmao it's not minifig scale

And if you want it to be minifig scale you need to fork over $380 jesus christ.

I like cars but there's only so many cars you can build before you get bored. It's different from Hot Wheels because you can actually play with those, you can't put a brick car on a race track I have no fucking clue how Lego's car lines are so popular.

MEGA is not a household name. Megaconstrux was a weird turn but still ok-ish because of all the Halo hype around it. Truth is Megabloks has always been niche, just take a look at the community of people who collected some of the most popular themes like Dragons and Pyrates. It is completely dwarfed by the amount of people who collected older Lego themes like Castle, all the space themes, early Star Wars, and so on.

Don't even get started on the literally who sets like Alien Agency, which while cool in concept and execution were terrible quality.

There's a reason why to date if you look up ANYTHING Mega online it's almost all Halo or CoD. While I love my Dragons and Pyrates sets, they had major issues with the plastic quality they used. Hands were very prone to breaking off, legs often became loose quite easily, and all manner of small pieces just broke down. There's also the fact that they used very specialized building pieces which, while cool, made it complicated to just tear apart and rebuild whatever you wanted. It's a trade-off that gave Mega more soul but removed the MOC factor a bit. Mega hasn't had a successful original theme in years, and the IPs they get don't pack enough of a punch.

even as a car guy i dont see the appeal of building a car out of bricks instead of a basic ass maisto model kit. its impossible finding a decent halo set at my nearest target but the shelves always have plenty of brick slop

I had a huge collection of codbloks and other lines, Aliens and Halo and X-Files and those GoT dragons and enough AssCreed to build British and French battalions... Lost it all in a move. Back to absolute zero.

Since then I got the Beatles set and I grabbed one of those KO Codbloks sets on Amazon. It's not much but it's a start. I have no idea how I'm going to rebuild, none of the CoD vehicles are still in print anymore. Misery.

I liked to remix my CoD minis into the factions from STALKER. That's outside my reach for now, maybe if I find the exo suit dudes cheap on eBay I can start to rebuild them.

You should probably work your way backwards, start with newest stuff (Fallout.Skyrim, not brickshop) and slowly rebuild from there. Good luck, Anon.
