I’m still surprised Hasbro doesn’t release a lot of Classified repaints. Seems like easy money. Scarlett seems to be the only mold they go all in on.

Snake Eyes > Cobra Mortal
Storm Shadow > Satan > Ninjaku
Stalker > Jammer
Gung-Ho > Gaucho
Tripwire > SAS Blades
Big Boa > Kangar
>>
Looks great
>>
>>11589810
They save stuff like that to throw in vehicles and 2-packs.
>>
>>11589810
>Seems like easy money
There's a lot of people who couldn't afford the Rattler or even the $150 going price for Rattler Baroness who are hoping for that light-blue repaint. Plus "ninja vipers" that were just Storm Shadow in a different color. They don't seem to be re-using molds as often as I figured they would Beyond Scarlett and the first Baroness.

Cobra Mortal is a pretty good “evil Snake Eyes.” I’m surprised he doesn’t show up more in fiction.

Especially when other franchises have shattered glass, nemesis prime, Toxitron, Faker, Slime Pit He-Man, Anti-Eternal He-Man, etc.
>>
>>11589855
I agree. Hasbro could be making more money off of reusing the molds more often.
>>
I'm still seething about not getting Python Patrol Valkyries before they put that subline on ice.

No one ever asks that braintrust of dummies that serve as the face of the brand anything about it whenever they're at events, so I don't know of any official statement

PP and TF were Target exclusive lines anyway. May be that that is just a deal that is over with at this point.

>>
>>11589896
Breaker and the Diver 2-Pack are Target Exclusive
>>
>>11589887
So these Classified sublines are only tackling the original domestic 1982-1994?
Because they did Tiger Force Outback which was an international release. And they added a Python Patrol B.A.T.

So why not have Python Patrol Major Bludd, SAW Viper, Trigger (ripcord mold), Lightning (airborne mold), and Croc Master?
>>
>>11589589
Wait -only- premium buyers can get her?

Yes.

>>
>>11589906
Well, probably not, but it is no secret that the PP and TF figures were mostly left with lukewarm reception, and pretty much all of the figures were bargain-bin fodder. They might have just not wanted to order any more product that wasn't exactly flying off the shelves.
>>
>>11589941

Hopefully I have the stuff by Saturday because it would be perfect for the concert.

>>11589855
This needs to happen in Classified now that they have that Classic Cartoon Snake-Eyes build.

>>11589859
....it's honestly kind of absurd for us to be *wanting* more repaints from Hasbro when most of their other fandoms complain about *too many* repaints. But yes, I want more obscure character repaints from Hasbro in Classified, especially if they're done similar to how they handled the Quarrel repaint.

>>11589947
That seems to be the most likely reason, isn't Pulsecon right around the corner? Probably want to encourage people to buy her from NYCC then Pulsecon first. I'll be there this weekend, so I plan to hit up the Hasbro booth, but I dunno if I'll bite on any of the exclusives this year. None of em are really must haves for me, and budget is sadly tight this go around.

But I'm still excited to see em back and wish I was going during one of the days they had their panels.

They would have never been $35. Even the old Snake Eyes and Timber set that came out years ago was $45. And that didn't have nearly the parts that this does.

Definitely stings for it to be a $55 army builder. At least there are a lot of options, and you really probably can just use the extra parts on other figures as well.

Most likely 4 inch. These are the Tron figures. They're forcing people to buy the entire wave plus two lightcycles for $260 all in one go. They also want at least 10,000 backers just produce them.
>>
>>11590363
Trying to figure out why this cost so fucking much and then I remembered Tron is Disney
>>
>>11590368
I suspect even if it were Joe, they would still want us to pay $30 a figure and pocket the extra money from not paying for a license.
>>
>>11590375
Hm, maybe, what do you >>11589947 think?
>>
>>11590363
>want at least 10,000 backers just produce them.
Because they want to ensure there's at minimum that many people who care about the original Tron before dumping finances into making toys of em.

Personally, I question if there's even half that many people interested in this franchise as a whole. Though I guess that short live cartoon disney killed off seemed to be popular for a bit.

>>11590368
It's an LED backdrop, five figures with actor's licenses and two vehicles with accessories. I won't say $260 isn't expensive, but it's at least $200 worth of stuff. So yea, extra $60 is probably the Disney tax.
>>
>>11590395
For the original Tron, Yes there's 10,000. Whether they would want to dump $260 on something that really should be sold individually is another story.
>>
>>11590405
But they don't want to produce it individually because this is another licensor mandated Haslab like the black woman lightsaber or Cookie monster at the same time as Unicron
>>
>>11590410
The thing is, people would buy a couple figures if they were sold individually even if they wanted some crazy price for it, but $260 is something that only a very die hard fan would pay-- it's honestly needlessly cruel since the original is the most popular and this line's gonna be dead on arrival.

Standard and Hasbro rolls a dice on who the carrier is. You might get FedEx, you might get DHL. Nobody knows.
>>
>>11590334
Hasbro handed out that scale of Joes to two different companies (Hiya and Reaction), so I doubt that they'll do that for Joes unless they're planning on large Haslab vehicles that are too big for the larger figures like they did for the Skystriker.

>>11590395
Tron definitely has a fan base that's been there a long time. This shit's just expensive though. It's a shame. I really wanted to finally get a Yori.

>>11590424
People would buy the entire set if sold separately because at that size each figure wuldn't be any more than $20. That's $100 at retail. Plus the lightcycles.

I like O-ring, it's been around from 1982 thru 2010 at least and was the most collected line of G.I. Joe. Stop being a troll, stop shitposting and telling other collectors what they should like and should talk about, especially if you're new to the brand and only care about whatever the "current thing" is. It's very irritating newfags policing oldfags telling them about what they need to collect.
>>

My last buy was an O-ring BAT.

But you're getting needlessly hostile at someone liking something different than you, so let me guess: you're that guy who went into meltdown because a lot of people liked the new version of Crystal Ball?

You really need to stop taking different opinions personally. Someone liking something you don't is not a personal attack on you, so why don't you stop being so hostile to any post you disagree with?

I think it is. That means there's hope for a non-Haslab Dragonfly and Rattler in alt colors. I believe they said early on that they couldn't and/or wouldn't reuse Haslabs for 3 years after the initial release.
This obviously doesn't include the figures, or parts of the figures, or accessories from those figures, but in terms of the HISS itself, it's been 3 years.
I don't imagine they'll be as quick to do the same thing with the Dragonfly or Rattler, though. The HISS is just more versatile.

You're dumb, dude.
The fucking BLACK HOLE toys sold in the tens of thousands and multiple companies released toys for its Anniversary in different scales.

There's probably 10 million people who are interested in the Tron franchise and maybe a couple hundred thousand who want to buy toys.
Whether they're willing to preorder toys that won't be released until a year from now at $35 per figure PLUS $60 motorcycles and only if you buy them as a set... well, that's another story.

This was really early in the line, Cobra Commander, Destro and Major Bludd were the only Cobra characters who existed as toys at the time the first cartoon miniseries was made, and you've got eyes, you know exactly what made the Baroness stand out more than any other potential options they could've used to give Cobra more characters.

Kwinn originally appeared to just be a one-off merc in the second issue of the comic. By the time he made a second appearance, and by the time Dr Venom and Scar-Face made their comic debuts, it was well into 1983, and the first cartoon miniseries was probably already in development.

All three of Kwinn, Scar-Face and Dr Venom were killed in the January 1984 comic issue, and the 1984 cartoon miniseries Revenge of Cobra had plenty of new toy Cobra characters to introduce instead (it introduces Zartan, Storm Shadow, Firefly, Scrap-Iron and the Dreadnoks). Scar-Face was basically just a Cobra Officer anyway, and as has been noted here a number of times, Hasbro probably weren't that interested in making a Dr Venom figure as he wasn't a particularly toyetic design.

It's like sometimes it needs to be stated out loud that nobody has to buy every figure in the line, nobody has to like every figure in the line. GI Joe is versatile enough that you can do anything from "somewhat realistic military vs terrorists" to the crazy fantasy stuff like snake people and dog ghosts, and everything in between. The people who only want fairly realistic stuff are still being well catered for.
>>
>>11591637
>>11591714
What's funniest is that so far, the Cobra-LA figures have all been exclusives that have pretty much sold out instantly anyway. Even if you don't like them, it isn't like they're plaguing shelves, or even "taking slots" as people put it, in the main line.

Cold Slither was the last (calling something the last that happened like four months ago) perfect exclusive. Is it sexist that Hasbro mutilated the female figures so whiny femboys don't get offended? They only got one female figure's face right, and that's also the most expensive one that most won't have. And they're all damn near flat-chested, which is not only unrealistic but alsoa gainst the proportions the characters were depicted as having. The only exception is Pythona. They made her "proportions" correct, but the face is what it is. It was never intended to be attractive in the first place, so they get a pass on that one.

And yeah it's racist to depict someone stereotypically which they didn't do with Big Lob in the original movie but they're doing now. He's a soldier, and there are no hoops to dunk on the battlefield.

"We," or "you?" It's ok to have an opinion, but opinions never speak for anyone but themselves. I find the character interesting, especially after they gave her a unique identity instead of being a half-assed file card for a Baroness repaint. And outside of Baroness, Raven, and Zarana, Cobra didn't originally have a lot of named female characters. The comic books filled that gap nicely. So why not have another named female Cobra?

I don't know what standard by which you're judging these faces, like if we argue for 3/4 more posts you're eventually going to post some anime figure as an example of a good looking female figure, but Classified has more hits than misses.
Maybe you're just bitter about not getting Rattler Baroness? She is one of the best looking 6 inch female figures ever made face-wise, but if you're just seething about that, I recommend getting a job or something.

No it didn't.

>Zarana looks great.
Her cartoon face and disproportionally flat chest are both wrong for the character. But there is a whole lot to be said about that figure, which really is one of the best stand-out figures to me. Her high boots conceal the knee joints. Her shoulder pads conceal the shoulder joints. Her long gloves blend in the elbow joints. Her top conceals that otherwise-ugly torso joint. When you look at Zarana, she's one of the visually-cleanest figures in the whole line, and a top-5-best in terms of the quality of toy sculpting. But that face and flat chest.........

The Rattler baroness is the only one you wouldn't want wearing glasses because they'd get in the way.
The Cobra Island and Retro ones look great.
The movie one looks great even though no one wants it.
The Crimson one's orgasm face looks great and the gold mask is cool. The problem with that figure is that the head is too big, but when she's standing next to Tomax and Xamot, you can't tell.
As someone who actually fucking owns the Rattler Baroness, she's definitely the best, but Baroness has not had a truly bad face in this line yet.

The so-called retro one was so obsessed at adding as much detail as possible to go full "McFarlane" that they still have yet to produce a correct retro one. Sometimes a toy sculptor needs to know when NOT to add details as much as when to add lots of it.

And I own the Rattler one too, and feel guilty with what I paid for it. They got it with this one with not going overboard with the details. The flight vest has good details as it should, but the body of the figure has just enough details to make it right without getting stupid with it like with the previous versions.

>The movie one looks great even though no one wants it.
I WAS like that, but re-evaluating it after a couple of years and giving it a second look, I am very tempted right now. I actually ordered the Origins movie Scarlett just a couple of hours ago and have that coming now. Part of me is starting to feel like the Origins figures didn't suck as much as I initially felt. And hey they're cheap, and can easily be had for half their original retail price.
>>
>>11593320
Yeah, divorced from that terrible movie, it's a decent figure.
>>
>>11593314
>And I own the Rattler one too, and feel guilty with what I paid for it.
Well, I paid retail for the entire set, because I backed. And I paid less than retail for most of the other Baronesses, so I don't have any autistic hangups about any of them.
>>
>>11593338
I didn't back it because I couldn't afford to, but I was able to get the $150 for just the Baroness. Yeah it sucks but I knew that it's not going to get any cheaper.
>>
>>11593357
Being poor and/or bad with money isn't a good reason to simp for a figure.
>>
>>11593361
When did I do that?
>>
>>11593364
I believe you have falsely deflated the quality of other female figures in the line in an act of willful overcompensation because Rattler Baroness "means" more to you.

I didn't. I don't have to. That's why the other guy was able to find them all for below retail. High-demand figures that look good daren't worth less than retail, bro. The previous versions had shorter legs with longer torsos, and that proportional difference is really noticable. They need needless details added to the body armor. And their faces are just shit.

But it's obvious to me that you're that Crystal Ball guy (probably Michael) looking to pick another pointless needless argument.
>>
>>11593373
>the figures get better over time
wow, crazy
that doesn't mean 3 year old figures suddenly become trash, though.
I'd rather have a new Cobra Island Baroness in the cool battle armor than the Rattler one. I bought the Rattler because it and Weasel are cool, and I've been annoyed from the first reveal that the third figure was Baroness and not ANYTHING else, and I still feel that way, because I already had four of her.
>>
>>11593379
I never liked them. My first female Classified was Zarana. Rattler version is my first Classified Baroness due to not being happy with previous versions.

>I'd rather have a new Cobra Island Baroness in the cool battle armor than the Rattler one.
That's fine with me. I am not challenging your right to an opinion like you so aggressively do with everyone else.

>I bought the Rattler because it and Weasel are cool
They are indeed cool. I can agree with that.

> I've been annoyed from the first reveal that the third figure was Baroness and not ANYTHING else, and I still feel that way, because I already had four of her.
She's the most valuable female and one of the most valuable figures in the entire Classified line to date, so your opinion is a minority-view. Her inclusion really helped the Rattler go around 10,000 units above the funded number. I personally feel like the third figure should have been some sort of mechanic because having three pilots for a 2-person aircraft didn't make the most sense to me.

I personally want more variants of the same characters I like over later ones from the time when the Joes were less popular. I even grafefully accept the "cartoon cheese" like Cold Slither. Don't misunderstand; the "serious stuff" like Ghost Viper are still cool too. I am not locked down into one type at all. It's more fun that way.

>She's the most valuable female and one of the most valuable figures in the entire Classified line to date, so your opinion is a minority-view.
Yeah. It's also the minority view that there's maybe two versions of Snake Eyes that need to be made, but they'll do 15 more before the line dies, and the "majority" will buy most if not all of them.
The majority thinks Joes are better than Cobra, even though that's a gay opinion for people who got molested as children, and they're content to buy forty different dudes with a rifle and ensure it'll be another year or two before they make Interrogator.
The majority isn't always right.
>Her inclusion really helped the Rattler go around 10,000 units above the funded number.
No, that just happens during the final days, just like with every other Haslab because online retailers and scalpers start buying more to resell, once the demand has been demonstrated.

The paying customer is ALWAYS right. Alienating people because a fucking snob thinks his opinion is the only one that matters isn't a smart move by any company. You want Interrogator. I want Destro in a Cobrathon tux. With how fast it sold out in spite of the high price, Hasbro is happy that it went with Ghost Viper instead.

First Wave Classified (Pic related, head) has the best face if you like less make-up and cute freckles. Second deco Scarlett has more blush and red lipstick. Origins Scarlett has darker lipstick and blush too plus an angry scowl expression. Retro Wave Scarlett has a darker eye color, a subtle scowl, and overall does not look like her original incarnation defeating the purpose of a Retro release.

I wouldn't mind a straight-up black repaint of the existing one althought at this point I am happy with the retro one.

I like her design and the basic idea, I'd buy a figure of her, I just wish she truly was a new character, and not Powerglide's girlfriend from an old Transformers cartoon getting randomly turned into a murderous villain.

After seeing this thing in person for the first time...I feel like it's nose is too long. Like the entire front end is stretched too far and the could have easily cut it about 3" shorter.

Hopefully it pulls a Stinger and gets a repaint no one wants and goes on deep clearance as I had to pass on this version. I like that it was updated to be a three seater, but the Striker was never my favorite joe vehicle.

this topic's auto-saging its way to the bottom so if someone else wants to make a new one that'd be awesome. I made the last three and am done with doing it. It's someone else's turn.

In the early 00s Chinese factory workers would make money on the side by using Hasbro's molds to run off figures, and they would use the cheapest and most plentiful plastic Hasbro had around, which was usually brightly-colored, while hoping Hasbro wouldn't notice. They sold their figures as "test shots" (which is the correct names for them) on Ebay. American buyers bought them up, then flipped them as "prototypes," which is completely wrong but it allowed them to sucker the people they flipped the stuff to into paying a higher price.

>>11594041
Their problem is they're short-sighted now. They only reveal what drops in two or three months. It's not as shitty as Reaction+ not revealing what they have coming until a few days before the release when stuff's already in shipment/distribution channels, but it's still shitty. It makes it totally impossible to plan for anything. This year at NYCC they didn't even show the fucking Snowcat while last year they showed the Rattler and figures a year ahead of its release.

At this point they 100% have everything they're releasing within the next year already planned out, and probably all of it has at least grey-sculpey prototypes available to show. More than likely everything for the next six months is already in test shot or even production sample stages. Yet they keep fucking with customers while focusing on that retarded "only show the next wave" bullshit. It's aggravating. It's like both Hasbro and Reaction+ are intentionally trying to piss off and try the patience of people who want to be paying customers.
>>
>>11594053
So that explains a lot of the lego bootleg stuff from china or mexico as being test shots, thanks wise one
>>
>>11594053
>At this point they 100% have everything they're releasing within the next year already planned out

>>
>>11594057
You can buy fake Louis Vuittons and Birkins made in the same Chinese factories out of the exact same materials as the real ones are. It's all fucked up now thanks to the global dependency on one single nation to produce everything.
