I can't say they aren't popular at all but at least we can search for anime openings, trailers and hyped moments on YT. There are always millions or even tens of millions of views. I don't see this from Undead Unluck and Elusive Samurai. All I see is low view count and cheap figures left. Dandadan, Sakamoto days and Kaijuu 8 worked. Kaiju line somehow last too long with consistent engineering issues for humans without biggest hype for anime. Mashle figs were good, even thought to buy them at some point but manga was the middest. Catchy OPs have big millions of views, but trailers and moments don't. Line also closed and they're cheap. Spy x Family still popular and line was interesting until they made bunch of Anya clones and other kids nobody bought (Bandai fault?). Jigokuraku s1 was hyped well at first, Gabimaru and Yuziriha SHFs were good, Sagiri suffered from Bleach knees. And again anime lost interest quick.
There is already nendoroid of Kagurabachi guy without anime yet. Pretty rare to see something like this. Some predict it for next thing in SJ. Who know which company got licence first. Chihiro good figure material but his coat is a matter of preference. Revoltech style like Gambit coat, maybe clothed wired from figma or soft plastic like Aoshi from Kenshin

Figma can't do this pose because her skirt and collar thing has no splits. Figma relies on replaceable parts. Even if you change her skirt pieces you still can't do this pose. I can't say for sure by looking at promo pics but think her skirt made of harder material than shf so you can't force it without breaking attachment part or leaving stress marks.

I find there's an interesting correlation between Animefags and Tokufags and how they discuss toys especially Figuarts. Anime (or rather Shounen Jump) Figuarts have been mixed from what I've seen, some majorly good and some piss poor with many in the middle and a lot of discussions and subsequent shitposting has been revolved around them entirely whether its quality or sales number. Then there's Toku Figuarts and they're barely talked about here or even in the Toku General. They've been some of the most consistently good figures to come out of the line with good engineering and articulation and rarely any QC problems. And hell I barely see any shitposts surrounding them, the last one I remember was someone posting a picture of a broken up Geats IX but everyone else knew that was 3rd party because that anon probably didn't know that Bandai has yet to actually announce and release Geats IX officially, he is still as of this writing Prototype Display Only.

Figuarts 2b is 5mm taller than the BUZZmod but the Figma is 10mm taller than the Figuarts and 15 taller than the BUZZmod. They will scale with nothing. Not their own line or other comparable lines.
Figma Frieren is 17mm taller than the Figuarts Frieren. It's just silly and it's almost got me wanting not to buy any Figma at all because I'm basically starting a whole new scale collection rather than getting things that can at least roughly fit together.

For me, most of what put me off comes from being based on the anime design. The big ass head, the inward shirt sleeve cuffs, the lack of floating weapons behind her, etc. Plus there's no best girl A2, so there's no point. I'm fine with the Bring Arts. Might have gone with Figma if they didn't decide to make them a whopping 160 fucking cm.
I think what got people annoyed is glorp-kun trying to act like it's a disaster on the level of the first Guts or Zoro.

Yeah, a 7/10 means its good. Not bad and not great, just good. Could've been better but certainly not the worst. 2B has quite a few shortcomings but definitely isn't a broken toy or with lots of QC issues like the first Guts Figuarts. Out of the two, 2B is definitely far more playable and won't fall apart just her ass doesn't look great. So I'm not sure why that shitposter has been trying to gaslight everyone into thinking it's a shit toy solely by how her ass was designed and not everything else.

I’m pretty excited to get both like the idort I am, but I think the shf may win in quite a few areas like scale, accurate colours and hair sculpting. I’ll wait and see how she poses and how she feels in hand. I think Figma took the W in the lineup department by making Himmel instead of Fern though, interested to see where it goes. That's not idiotic. I got a reissue SHF Frieren and I will be getting the Figma (tried to get the shop version but POs are closed), but the scale, gold trim and hair are big things that make me not like as much as I want it to. And the Figma definitely doesn't look like a definitive figure either the way some people wanted it to be.
If the Figma had had soft goods and been the right scale? Absolutely. As it stands, both the SHF and the Figma will require soft goods (and there are currently no soft goods with a gold trim, so that's ostensibly a point to SHF for the time being) to be as good as they should be, so neither fulfill the role of being THE Frieren to get.
In the accessories department, neither coming with a suitcase was also a big unnecessary flub.
But yeah, the scale detracts heavily most of all, since I mostly collect things in a similar size range, so having a Frieren figure be 17mm bigger than the SHF (with Himmel appropriately scaled to go with that already overscaled figure) is a little bit problematic.
Nevertheless, I hope both lines continue. Tamashii would be insane if they don't pick the IP back up and give us a Stark or something, and until I see otherwise, I'll assume GoodSmile will continue making more Figma.

Why the fuck do none of them have double jointed knees? All three: single joints. SHF, Figma and the BUZZmod as well with copout extra pair of static legs with a full bend sculpted to "compensate".
