>>11602948>>11602966Where's the diversity?
>>11602948Because you make the lore yourself and you weren't limited to City sets.
>>11602966I'm looking at the instructions for this and there are a lot of unique pieces. The triangular pieces have a 1x1 space right at the edge and the S.N.O.T brick has a plate on one end and that wedge on top.
>>11602966I feel like a retarded faggot for having an almost nostalgic feeling for something I never actually experienced. I only collected Lego from 2006-2012 but I knew people who had some classic sets and I always thought they were cooler than modern ones. My favorite modern sets are the Galaxy Explorer and Renegade, and I wish Lego produced more like them. City Space is soulless slop.
>>11603576>I feel like a retarded faggot for having an almost nostalgic feeling for something I never actually experienced.Look up old instructions online and build them yourself. Parts are so simple you only really need to bricklink the weird ones. Or find a way to replace them with newer ones or something.
>>11602948>>11602966They were like buildable playsets for children so they had a simple charm. Nowadays Lego feels like hyper autistic fans who grew up making complicated mocs make mocs for everyone to buy and NOT PLAY WITH.
>>11602948Alt builds on the back of the box no matter how simple the set, pure soul!
Every space faction biggest ship form the faction era 1989-1998Notes1. Roboforce did not have a ship2. biggest ship is by piece count, 3. I have chosen the M-tron super-model 6862 as their representative. instead of 6956
>>11603440The starfire(1986) was a late-stage classic space set(1986-1988)Very similar to Futuron (1987-1990) as classic space moved away from greys, blues and trans yellow/greenFuturonPrimary color =whitesecondary color= blackwindows windscreens = trans bluelights = trans red
>>11603646Once again - nexo Knights were so KINOwe didnt know how good we had it back then...
I liked the backgrounds they had for sets back then.

>>11603439This x100. They gave you broad outline for the themes without stifling your imagination.>>11603577Good suggestion. It’s all out there, for nothing, too!

here's your new aayla secura figure>removed cleavage>removed pelvis>added pronounced cheekbones
>>11604186I own the old figure , but i don't want it , apparently its worth $$$ but i cannot find buyer

>>11602948Question. Don't they become brittle over time and snap easily? I recently started collecting and I'm looking at older models which are inflated beyond reason in terms of price. I don't mind buying one here and there with a better deal but is it a risk? Will they break easily?
>>11604284It all comes down to who is the buyer and who owned it beforehand. If it comes straight from a kid's toy chest, it is likely to be very used, sun exposed, etc.If it comes from a collector, it is likely being kept in good conditions or has been restored properly. Of course, the price skyrockets in such cases.Regarding price, you have to ask yourself, will you restore it if its condition is not optimal? In such cases, I try to priotize a set that has the exclusive (therefore more expensive) parts in the best condition possible (say, a raised baseplate), so any other part I need to replace is not that expensive.
>>11603698>>11603577Aquazone remains my all-time favourite theme. With Aquasharks as my favourites.
>>11604186all the new twi'lek have cheekbones now
>>11604284The old baseplates and some parts like the Aquazone submarine arms might but the average bricks shouldn't.Hell, recent bricks are WAY more prone to cracking after a short time due to shit tier ABS plastics used in the industry these days.
>>11603576The modern Galaxy Explorer is one of my favorite sets despite not having nostalgia for classic space (I did have a couple of late-era classic space sets I got used at a flea market, but the stuff that was actually in stores and in the catalogs when I was a kid was the faction era stuff like Ice Planet, Space Police II and Spyrius). It's just a very well designed spaceship and the gray and blue color scheme is a very good one. It looks eye-catching without being garish, and like something I could totally see a real spaceship being painted with while not being as boring as space shuttle white.
>>11603646>UFOi'd always maintain Interstellar Starfighter is more of UFO's flagship than the Avenger.
>>11604729Second. Avenger might have more parts, but Starfighter had the whole fiber optics gimmick, which would naturally be reserved for a flagship. The way I see it, Avenger is closer to a movable base.
>>11604729>>11604748Interstellar Starfighter always took center stage in all UFO catalog pages too.
>>11602948Simplified design worked well with natural blockiness. Modern lego is trying hard to smooth everything down but it still looks off.Look at Egyptian theme. Blockiness of classic bricks made it work thanks to blockiness of Egyptian structures. Same for castle and some other classic themes. 80s sci-fi design were also pretty blocky and LEGO perfectly knew how to utilize this.
>>11604753That because {{{they}}} where selling it for more money.
they encouraged you to take them apart and used bigger parts so it was easier to do. as much as I hate the creator 3-in-1 haunted house for being overpriced (25% off felt like what should have been MSRP) it at least incorporates a lot of 2x or bigger bricks to tear it down fast and build other stuff. same with the castle (though the price is much better). too bad Lego isn't for playing to most people and the castle is getting hate for brick built horses of all things (I see those as parts packs for Medieval finery but you guys do you).
Just finished the Lion Knights' Castle, what did I think of it?
>>11605345You mean the classic one or the new one?
>>11605359The new one
>>11605393It's cool, but too modern for my own taste. I like studs.
>>11605345grey tomboy castle
>>11605345You thought that the poor spatial planning and insistence on a non-square layout made the usage of space far less efficient than it could have been, and the number of secret forestman spaces was too high.
>>11605471>>the number of secret forestman spaces was too high.>If I had a nickel for every forestman hideout in the Lion Knights' Castle, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that there are two of them
LEGO trains used to be its own theme 1966-2006Bring back LEGO trains!
>>11605913I think Lego is done with sub-themes. it's just easier to call it CITY and be done with it.if it's a City set with a train, that's good enough, right? you can tell it's a train. there always seems to be at least one train set on the store shelf. Harry Potter seems to require a train set at all times, too.
>>11605913The drug smuggling town sets were great .
