Pic here is the upper echelon of what everyone remembers about 1980s cartoon villains. Some like Tex Hex had a cool look but still didn’t help the BraveStarr show. Overlord from Spryal Zone won but the show isn’t memorable.Could TigerSharks have done better. T-Ray and Soulmate are cool looking but the show needed a scary big bad.
>>11612625TigerSharks failed because it wasn't even it's own standalone series, it was a segment of The Comic Strips which was itself a failure and dragged Tigersharks down with itIt could've had the coolest villain of the 80s and it wouldn't have mattered
I am so sick of 80s shit
>>11612625>Overlord from Spryal ZoneIs the first time I heard about both of them
>>11612708>Earths most powerful soldiers>Are Earths last chance>Against The Spiral Zone!https://youtu.be/wO2Cd9tyUvY?si=mEAnbZuPlB02Vca8
>>11612664Not going away until someone comes up with something new that's as memorable.
>>11612625It was one of those shows that was kind of hard to find, and few people knew it existed. It was a part of some super special lineup show as a sketch and not really a standalone series.
>>11612770True but it didn’t have a main villain like the other shows in OP pic. There were two groups fighting the TigerSharks.
>>11612664This isn't a comprehensive list, but for iconic 90s toylines (that weren't just shit from previous decades rebooted) we had Mighty Max, Biker Mice From Mars, Earthworm Jim, Battletoads, Barnyard Commandos, Power Rangers, Street Sharks, Extreme Dinosaurs, Gargoyles, Pokemon, Digimon and Reboot.Of those, Mighty Max, Extreme Dinosaurs and Reboot are the only ones that haven't gotten toys in recent years, and that's of we don't count the "legally distinct" Mighty Hat/Rover Robin toys made by the mob that thought they had the Mighty Max trademark secured.2000s doesn't have nearly as many iconic toylines that weren't retreads of previous decades, but Yu-Gi-Oh has been getting figures. Beyblades are still going. Ben 10 is an untapped well that is overdue for being exploited, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens within a few years. Even in lines like MOTU, Transformers and GI Joes that after from the 80s, they are digging into the 90s and 2000s character rosters.
>>11612625>TigerSharksI didn't even knew they existed before this thread lmao
>>11612777And the Thundercats fought the mutants, Lunataks, Mumm-Ra or a random villain of the week.
>>11612625Watch out for Megatron in his mode.
Damn Bravestarr!!!
>>11612625T-ray was the most badass of all the rankin bass bad guys. Even with regards to the shortlived toyline he looks the best of the bunch since he didnt sacrifice good looks for the sake of the silly gimmick. It's just a shame the line was buried before it could pick up much steam because it could have really been great. Im still baffled Nacelle didnt try to nab more one hit wonders off warner when they had the chance. Bionic Six, Turbo Teen, Sky Commanders, Centurions, etc all seemed way more interesting than Roboforce ever did.Since we're discussing overlooked 80's limes, where the fuck is my modern Rambo and the forces of freedom collection? That's such an ideal competitor to Classified and nobody's biting.
>>11612664People born in the late 70s/early 80s are the action figure audience. 80's are never going away until action figures stop being made entirely.
>>11612708I think spiral zone is cool. Give it a shot
>>11613006I think secret galaxy did a short video on them.
