ITT: Post childhood Holy GrailsThe Seaduck plane from Tailspin. This was in the toy chest in the playroom of a church I used to go to daycare at and I loved it so much. One of these days I'm just going to bit the bullet and get it on eBay.
I never knew they made TaleSpin toys. And here I am making due with the Mirrorverse Baloo like an idiot.
>>11614447I built the plane from tailspin out of Legos at least twice as a kid. I didnt know there was an actual toy. Also it looks stumpy and sad, but I'm sure it was cool at the time.
For me it’s the ship from space jam, I always wanted it as a kid but it’s pretty expensive to find one in box these days.
>>11614447Why is it so chibi? At least have the red part stick out more.
>>11615308I imagine it's the biggest they could make it to fit the price point. The stubby wings bother me more than anything. Would have been very easy for them to be separate pieces which plugged in, allowing them to be much longer. Playmates' Thunderquack Jet released at the same time was a much better vehicle.
>>11616101Darkwing Duck toys were so rad.
>>11614447Why cant we have this disney back? These shows were awesome, its like a golden era for disney tv cartoons. Now disney just owns everything, even sports, and it sucks. I really hate america for selling itself to corporate greed but thats a diffrent topic.
>>11616164>"Hot Spells">Darkwing and Gosalyn go with Morgana to her old magic school, where she is to present her thesis paper. Gosalyn tries to find a shortcut to learning magic. Beelzebub tricks Gosalyn into casting a spell that sends Darkwing into Hell where he is confronted with his worst nightmare-- spending eternity with the Muddlefoots.>Notes: This is the only episode of the series that has been banned from airing again after its initial broadcast because of its religiously sensitive subject matter, and is the only episode not released on home media in the US, being unavailable for purchase on the iTunes Store and Google TV, and is unavailable to stream on Disney+.
>>11616101DW looks downright insane on the box.
Ghostbusters proton pack and Halloween costume. I was too poor to get new toys. :-(
>>11614447Remember the episode where Baloo lost his hand? Damn, this show was dark sometimes.
>>11616888Wasn't there one with a ghost pilot?
>>11614447I believe I knew of this toy back in the day but even back then it not fitting the form and scale of the actual plane triggered my autism and I couldn't be bothered to want it. I believe I had the Baloo and Don Karnage figures and maybe some others. Tale Spin just wasn't made for action figures.
>>11616164I find it funny and insane how they bought and milked Star Wars and Marvel for all its worth, but in the 00's they got Power Rangers and didn't know what the fuck to do with it Also note the difference between the original Lilo and Stitch ads and the one for the live action remake. The original was about how Stitch was like the rowdy dog or black sheep of the animated Disney canon, while the new one was just him next to random shit Disney bought since then. Many such cases
>>11617352The original Lilo and stitch ads included references to other Disney characters, most famously Aladdin. This is nothing new, you’re just older now.
>>11616101I had this as a kid. I loved it.
>>11616612He's getting dangerous
Always wanted this or Cloud City.
>>11614447>>11616101Man I remember these.
>>11615308>Why is it so chibi? At least have the red part stick out more. The cost of most of this kind of item is decided entirely on how much volume they occupy when you pack a shipping container full of them. An extra inch in any given direction is a considerable reduction in the number of packaged units you can cram into a container for shipment, and that would drive the price of each unit up.
>>11616164Disney lost their Disney Afternoon mojo back in the 90s. Nearly everything after Goof Troop was getting slightly worse and worse before pulling the plug.
>>11617431You didn't read the post right
>>11614447
>>11614447I know I'm not the only one who wanted this after seeing Short Circuit 2.This one was technically unobtainable until about a decade ago when some nerd with too much money hired the Chinese to make an injection molded version that he bootleg sold for a while.
>>11621335>Short Circuit 2Nope, you were the only one.
>>11616101I never had the Thunderquack. Always wanted it. I don't think I could ever find it?
>>11616101>>11621478Am I actually going to try and track down some of the old Darkwing Duck figures because of this thread? I think I might.
>>11621335I always wanted a Johnny 5, closest I got was a Z-Bots that was like 70% Johnny.
I know he wore it in the show on occasion, but I remember even as a kid being annoyed that the Baloo figure had him wearing his coat as opposed to just his normal yellow shirt he wore all the time.
>>11614447these guys. Always thought they looked cool, knew a kid who had one. Wasn't really into TMNT, and never saw them. I doubt playmates will reissue them, they go for a lot now.
>>11614910Toys tend to just compress the vehicles so it accommodates at least one figure.
>>11617500Some of the old instructions (for the actual builds) SUCK when you’re trying to read them
