looks like the greenlight one, quite nice! for vinyl top, you could either paint it like some do here
https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/182664-vinyl-tops-best-method/
or you could use black masking tape, anything thin and adhesive that looks like a vinyl could work, for the wheels its abit harder, either you could get them 3d printed or get from another diecast with wheels you want, or if you dont mind exact accuracy just color the red rims over with a chrome pen
>>

>Does anyone know how to modify 1:18th cars? My girlfriend bought me a model of the car but it has the wrong wheels and no vinyl top.
For Wheels you'd need to swap them but about roof, try vinyl tape. This is how I saved Escort. It had huge scratch on hood. So huge that it would need to repaint whole car. So I used vinyl Black tape to create sport stripe.

Mini GT are scale models, they are fragile and to avoid damage things like mirrors or spoilers are sometimes made of almost rubber.

Hot Wheels or Johnny Lightning are pure toys, Mini GT are scale models, step below Inno64 or so.

I've never been a "mopar guy", but Matchbox's '62 Plymouth Savoy is a favorite, especially since it's contender for the unofficial title of "first muscle car". It's got some interesting lines that harken back to the 50s and even the 40s while still embracing the futuristic look of the 60s.

The mainline releases are all plain color, but there are some cool race decos if you're willing to spend a bit more on premium.

I just love the fact the way Hot Wheels are packaged, you are pretty much guaranteed to have scratches on the side that's come in contact with the cardboard.

I know these are cheap toys but still, fucked up paint because of packaging issue is really a bummer.

Having bad paint from the factory is one thing it's another thing to have something that's totally preventable. With tomica, they wrapped the car in a clear plastic bag with the box version and for the carded version the car is secured by a tray.

Well at least the bus is fine. Only the roof is painted and the plastic rear mirror prevented any contact between the roof and the card.

It bums me out too. I've had to amass the whole color spectrum of paints to fix up flaked decals. Almost always have to mix paints because the color from a single bottle never quite matches, but its kinda fun to experiment with color matching.

Also, for chrome flaking off wheel rims, everyone recommends Molotow liquid chrome pens. I could only find the silver chrome from Molotow in stores, but I managed to find these Umark paint markers that seem to do a decent job for Hot Wheels with gold or copper rims.

I love this old matchbox nissan. It was part of the lightning wheels series which were supposed to be super fast, and they were. My friend and I used to race them back in 3rd grade whenever we had indoor recess. One day he accidently stepped on this poor car—hence the bent front axle—and it never raced again.

I got really mad at him and made him cry. But then I apologized and we stayed good friends for many years. I'm really proud of that. My parents never taught me any values and I wasn't a good kid, so I value the moments when I learned to put someone else's feelings before my own. He's doing good these days, and so am I. I love cars with memories attatched.

Heh. I think we all have those moments where something will make us have a fit.

But as for that 300zx, there might be a chance you could get it back to rolling. There's this tool made for straightening bent axles on Hot Wheels cars. It's called a Redline Tune-up tool and although it's advertised as being meant for early Hot Wheels type axles, you should be able to use it on modern Hot Wheels and Matchbox axles.

The last third of this video shows how to actually use it, but I've timeskipped it to an earlier part that shows how to separate 'cap-type' wheels because it looks like that's the type those lightning wheels are. Not saying you need to take them apart, but it's just interesting as you don't see the axle ends on the wheel.

Also, something to point out: there is a code on the back of the card's hangar piece. The latter half of the code 'N9C0K' is the same across all these cars-I believe the final letter ('K' in this case) signifies which letter case it came from. You can use this to help be sure if your search is getting warmer.

By the way, that Civic you got is the original livery it first released in. That's pretty nice.

>>
>>11633406
It doesn't help that they keep adding features that diminish a driver's need to be attentive and alert. Shit like lane assist and blind spot warnings and auto-braking make it so you can be almost completely spaced out behind the wheel because the car will do it all for you. I've heard of people getting into accidents because they're so used to these "safety" features that when they get into cars without them, they forget that they aren't there anymore and space out.

>It doesn't help that they keep adding features that diminish a driver's need to be attentive and alert
Shame, that. This particular offense is two-pronged; it's better for safety, sure, but bloating cars with all this extra tech lets them keep charging more and more for everything—nobody makes an "entry level" vehicle anymore, because that's not as profitable. There's actually a third prong, in that it also makes cars increasingly unserviceable. Everything is loaded with proprietary software and so many computers that you're forced to take your cars to a dealership for many kinds of repairs, where they're just as likely to try and get you on the hook for a new lease so they can keep siphoning your money. Sadly, most Americans are proud consumers and will fall for it.

Basically, everything's a fucking scam in America. Now I'm grumpy. Here's a little Ford. God bless this ponzi scheme of a country.

1st time ever bought nuMaisto and while I still hate black windows and no interior, in these two it doesn't even matter that much and what surprised me the most is their 'spectraflame-wannabe' paint. I've never seen these on 1 dollar mainstream Maisto crap.

There's only regress to be fair, at least for main 1:64 line. It's a brand that went downhill so bad it's just sad:
>No more interiors AT ALL
>Opaque black windows everywhere to hide the fact there is no interior
>Cheap-looking headlight prints IF AT ALL and usually they are just silver blobs
>Barely any decos and usually plain generic car color
>Thick paint coat that covers almost all casting details
>No more suspension
>Ugly wheels
I mean, just compare same Firebird casting over years. Old one from MCToy era is basically Matchbox tier. Now they removed everything good and shat out cheap looking chink crap.

well, for that matter we haven't got a mainline 240sx yet. And everyone and their dog has seen a clapped out silvia, at least once in their lives by now.
It may take ages like the 190 evo and the 356 speedster which only recently got into silver lines, or it may never happen

>The Sileighty is kind of a niche car even among JDM fans
Wasn't it in Initial D? I automatically assume any car that was in Initial D has gotta be at least somewhat popular.

I've been away for a while and didn't realize Power Rocket was back in rotation. Haven't seen that one since I was a kid. Thank God it has an alternate color scheme. Thanks for the heads up.

Good haul by the way. Appreciate the Motocompo too.
