Not monitor anon but I've not seen him in a while and threads keep dying prematurely, wanted to give anons a heads up since the DX Chogokin VF-31A Kairos is getting re-released at retail for Delta's 10th anniversary and goes up for pre-order in a few hours, almost entirely identical just has different numbers.

I miss him, I really liked his enthusiasm and his photography.
>>
>>11617586
Too bad the game is shit. Some of the designs are neat
>>
I missed out on preordering the green Rick Dom II, last month was bad for me financially. I'm sure it'll end up in A Miami though. Just gotta wait it out.
>>
>>11617554
already preordered it at Ninnin, always liked that design and color, even more so, years ago I preordered this thing durits its first release at Nippon Yasan, but that coincided when that store began to fuck things up and was never able to fulfill preorders
>>
>>11617554
Looks good and nice to finally be able to get one after the clusterfuck it was last time. Gonna wait to see what it costs at US retail though, might be the first one I buy off Amazon.
>>
>>11617790
Yeah I miss him too, can't have shit on this site anymore though since all the autist shitposters have driven the majority of users away as well as the dumb autosage changes that keep forcing the thread to die early.
>>
>>11617554
That's cool, I wish they'd rerelease the YF-30 though
>>
Cmon Bandai, you gotta announce the ANIME Zeta before the end of the year (40th anniversary of Zeta Gundam)
>>
>>11617554
>Delta's 10th anniversary
holy crap. And to think that was some of my last Macross purchases besides a Chogokin VF-1.
>>
>>11619420
Bandai seems to do fuck all for any Gundam anniversaries if it's not Wing or Seed.
They did more for Wing than they did for the entire franchises anniversary.
>>
They haven't made a new Macross in 10 years? Fucking hell...
>>
I just bought this on a whim because I love black repaints and I found one for cheap.

>>11619620
I was so disappointed by Turn A's anniversary. We have a HG Mandala Gundam but no Sumo, Kapool or Turn X. And I would buy a Metal Build Turn A and X so hard.
>>
>>11619622
It's not really that surprising that's just the standard wait between entries
>SDF - 1982
>Plus - 1995
>7 - 1995
>Zero - 2002
>Frontier - 2008
>Delta 2016
Delta's 2nd movie was only a couple of years ago and had a Frontier short bundled with it, they were holding auditions earlier this year for the new Sunrise Macross so that should be airing late-26/early-27
>>
>>11619622
>>11619883
Every Macross entry is like a time capsule of that era of anime.
So considering how slowly things change these days 10 years isn't unusual.
>>
What's it like to import from Japan to the US right now? How much can I expect on customs fees and shipping?
>>
>>11620273
15% tariffs.
>>
>>11620273
>>11620289
30% if they fill the paperwork out correctly (HLJ is doing this, not sure about the rest). And then there's additional brokerage fees on top of that, and FEDEX/DHL seem to have raised their rates a couple months back probably in relation to all the business they lost over this. Its not cheap. In all seriousness its probably better to just buy from a US vendor at the moment.
>>
First time buying a spirits figure on PO, does the site not have release dates for reissues? I ordered unit 01 from nin nin, I just wanted a release day rather than just the month.
>>
>>11620457
>does the site not have release dates for reissue
Nope. bandai usually doesnt announce the date till the last minute/month of release.
>>
Anyone have thoughts about all the Heavy Metals? I watched through L-Gaim recently after SRW and loved it.
>>
>>11617554
Holy shit, that's crazy.

On original release it was a P-Bandai exclusive back in the days that the cheapest way to get P-Bandai outside Japan was to bite the bullet on sites like Nippon-Yasan or the your proxy of choice. It was never even reissued, just a single run, and IIRC there was some drama at the time about Chinese scalpers or something botting the order page and "stealing" the limited stock. My proxy at the time fell through and I bit the bullet for one on Mandarake about a year ago now because I had no hope about it getting a reprint; I always found it the sexiest variant of the VF-31 but it was just a mook suit version that got little screentime in Delta or the movies. Glad to see it get some love, even if my wallet wishes I held out for longer.
>>
>>11620483
Nagano mecha designs are all pretty amazing although Gothicmade kind of lost me. I think they were the precursor to FSS too. I even love the Brains from Brain Powerd.
>>
>>11620486
>and IIRC there was some drama at the time about Chinese scalpers or something botting the order page and "stealing" the limited stock.
It wasn't that, Bandai cancelled a shit ton of pre-orders and massively shorted the production run for no apparent reason leading to the insane aftermarket prices.
>>
>>11620508
I mean the old RDs
Are they any good? They got one of the most extensive lines.
>>
>>11620526
THAT'S what it was! After all this time the details are a bit fuzzy, I guess I got mixed up with one of the billion other toy issues that people blame on "Chink scalpers." Regardless, I think it's amazing that it's getting a reissue now that people can just buy off Amiami instead of jumping through hoops.
>>
>>11620305
>In all seriousness its probably better to just buy from a US vendor at the moment.
You do realize they ALSO are going to pass on that 30% to you right?
>>
>>11620483
I have the whole line as they are some of my favorite mecha designs, love the utilitarian looks. Pretty much all good figures other than a few exceptions with issues (bat-shu has shoulder paint that seems to crack on every copy for example). They don’t have ANIME level articulation but they all have really weird anatomy anyway so it wouldn’t be much benefit.

MSRP was 52k yen in 2023. I paid 50k on ami for A/B pre owned. Now the same is 42k. The glossy version has cheaper prices. The absolute state of the yen made it a worthwhile purchase
>>

>>11621732
3500 for boat shipping. It has a fair amount of metal in the frame. There's cool gimmicks like moving armor parts and suspensions in the legs, if you press downward on a leg you see it in action. Pretty useless all things considered but I'm a sucker for this kind of things. Also it does come with batteries for the head led but they were depleted, naturally since the box has been sitting dormant for two years

I've been hoping we'd get a new Nirvash figure some day, but it's a shame it was this heavily redesigned. Maybe it'll look better once more comes out but I'm not big on this right now.

Probably should've been a DX like Kawamori's other designs.

What the fuck I hate it. I'm not usually this big of a hater bit the whole appeal of Nirvash was its rounded designs. And they kept some of it like the cockpit windows but now all the new redesigned hard edges and extra panel lines clash with those rounded original parts that weren't redesigned enough. And personally I dont like too many panel lines and details anyways. It looks like some chinese notGundam but for Nirvash.

The looseish torso is my biggest concern right now because everytime i try to move the arm. The torso would bend first. Im sure it can hold its weight since it does take a little force but it is annoying that bending the arm would move the torso first. My lancelot was fine so this is annoying.

It's got to be a tradition at this point. Someone either watching or working on E7 prayed that it would turn out amazing, only to doom the rest of the franchise via monkey's pawed. There's either a spiritual curse or some sort of dedicated self-sabotage conspiracy, it feels impossible that they can drop the ball so hard so consistently. In some way it's almost amazing.

No idea if regular or P.bandai only.
A part of me wish for this line to die.
>>
>>11624906
Yeah it’s become increasingly clear that OYW msv slop was the only thing keeping this line afloat, the fact that even Zeta can’t get a full line is pretty damning. Ah well, saves me money, in a way I’d kinda prefer if RD just goes back to being a grab bag line of mecha instead of this singular one series at a time thing.

As a consequence Bandai does seem to be focusing a lot more on MRD which is fine by me since it’s my favorite line from them, still a shame to see such a promising subline shot dead the moment it tried to tackle anything remotely interesting.
>>
>>11624906
>>11625011
They were dumb for trying to do everything.

Release a Gundam, follow up with 2-3 popular grunts/rival suits, then release another gundam type to continue the cycle. Down the line you can circle back to fill up the gaps. There should be no reason to prioritize designs like the GMII that maybe 5 people care about. People just care about stuff like the Rick Dias, or Asshimar and the Gundams.
>>
>>11625058
Their general rule of thumb was releasing figures based on order of appearance with some fudging here and there.

I think the bigger problem with UC from Zeta onward is that once you get past the first starter suits, everything is either huge or transformable or both and have few to none MSV variants to reuse the mold, and if the Zeta line isn’t selling as well than Bandai probably can’t justify the cost to develop all of those molds.

Ver Anime kind of benefitted from most OYW stuff being based on like 10-20 basic molds that can be retooled/repainted for ez money, and that’s just not the case with any other part of this franchise, UC or AU.

I expect the future of Gundam RD specifically to be stuff like the Big Zam or that new Kikeroga, stuff that’s too big/weird to fit in with the MRD line so it goes to the broad umbrella of RD instead.
>>
>>11625011
Dunbine gets more RD releases in one year than the last three mainline Gundam series have gotten period.
>>
Is the SEED line dead as well?
>>
>>11625081
>and that’s just not the case with any other part of this franchise, UC or AU.
Seed has a crapload of grunt variants, outside of UC it's probably the most developed timeline in this regard
>>
>>11625103
SEED hasn’t had any new announcements since the IWSP released back in June, we absolutely would have heard something by now if it was continuing. GWitch died last year so I’m not surprised SEED met a similar fate, especially with all the popular MS being backloaded.

>>11625105
Yeah that’s kind of true but it really only applies to the Dagger and Ginn, everything else usually only has one or two variants at most.

SEED Destiny Zaku technically has a lot of versions but they’re all just color swaps since the wizard packs make the difference.
>>
>>11625088
I feel like dunbine manages to succeed (not really sure I want to call 2-3 P-bandai releases a year a success) where gundam fails due to having no alternatives. This obscure MSV dunbine shit is simply never getting another toy, it only gets made because it is someone on the RD team's favorite. Fans seem to realize this shit is their only chance and will just gladly overpay the inflated prices. For gundam... they'll will instead just buy the HGUC kits at these prices.

>Zeta line isn’t selling as well
Nearly 10k figures tend to have that effect.
Even the OYW figures have stupid prices.

>>11625011
Them going full in on MRD is killing my interest in the line as I don't care for overpriced figures with metal parts.
It's getting me back into Gunpla though, so it's quite nice to get back to painting.

I just realized there's no bore rifle with the MB Barbatos, or maybe not shown but that would be a shame not to include it.

I'm so hype for standard EW heavy arms and Sandrock but there is no way these will be out within the next five years.

>have enough kits to paint
bought an animal kit because it's already painted and looked neat, and apparently once built, you can put this particular one in a lot of poses

What kit ?
>>
>>11624906
Wow, we are at a low point. Damn shame. I was ready and waiting for Ver ANIME Calamity, Forbidden, and Raider Gundam.
>>
Biggest disappointment to me is no new AoZ MRDs. The line seemed to be ramping up toward at least a Haze’n-thlay II / Rah release, and maybe even recolors for Woundwort and Haze’n-thlay. But now I’m doubtful we’ll ever see more.

Not gonna lie the Gyan has a cool design.

>Guess lines dead
Really? I am not used to judging announcements but it would be a serious pity if so, I find the ANIME line as put out some really nice stuff, damn. The optimist in me thinks it'd take time to do things since a lot of the next chronological MS in Zeta are transforming, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised whatever happens. Is there anywhere we can see actual sales statistics or anything?
>>
>>11625763
Yeah I was really looking forward to that too.
I'm getting a general sense that this years tamashii nations has been underwhelming.
I wonder if the tariffs and general economic situation factors in significantly.
>>
>>11625235
I was hoping it would just be normal sized so I can put Baronz and Hyper whatever it was called from Dunbine but it makes sense.

Also this is insane what the fuck.

already better than >>11622360

however, I don't like the color scheme, wonder if they will later release a variant color like they did with all the other big guys they have made

This worries me the most since im wondering if it can even support all that weight long term unless it has a lock.
>>
>>11626009
Hope they make a smaller version of that one. I like it but not enough to justify all the space it takes
>>
>>11626021
this one is a design from a game I think, probably can't release a different colorway unless one exists in it

Reeeeee. At 11:25, the sliding armor revealing synthetic muscle. Sex. Wish more figures did this, very little feature muscles

How expensive this thing is? I really dig this notbarbatos but it sure Will be pricey

>>11626282
On burger shops it's around 250 dollars. If you buy on a chink shop it'll be lower. On jp shops it's around 23/24k yen

Does anyone know why Bandai stopped making trident display stands? They were incredibly useful I wish I'd bought more when they still made them.

>>11628118
bolts and plastics are not good friends. also those pincer... maybe not, it's kinda ok.
>>
>>11626009
More overdesigned crap I don’t get why you people like this shit company
>>
>>11628246
Why answer if you're just gonna talk out of your ass anon, the only parts with bolts in that image are parts that Bandai continue to make to this day and the pincers are optional pieces that likewise still come with Act Humanoid stands/
>>
>>11628630
Parts don't have awfully cut, protruding nubs for one

Looks a little pin headed and it's darker than I anticipated but it's a nice figure. Was unit 13 an online exclusive? Wondering why it didn't get re-released or get a special colour ver.
>>
>>11628118
I'd totally buy some more Trident and Combination stages if they did them again.
The Combination stages were great for a smaller footprint base.
Might just look into lasercutting my own for the arms to plug into.
