How come there are still no good Zelda /toy/s?
It doesn't help that the nu-Zelda (BotW/TotK) designs are ugly as sin.
All I want is a good Link statue
>>
>>11618299
What do you mean?
There’s 4 figma
3 nenoroids
A couple of Jakks
None of those are good enough for you?
>statue
Statues aren’t toys. You should have bought the club Nintendo twilight princess statue when you had the chance
>>
>>11618299
What this guy >>11618472 said. There's been several Link figures and a few other characters made over the years. Many are crappy due to the time period (early 2000s) or company (Jakks), but it's still a heck of a lot more than most Nintendo properties that aren't Mario or Pokemon get figures of. Nintendo is just notoriously picky about letting companies make figures of their IPs
>>
>>11618299
dude, Amiibo
pick your game I'm not going to do the work for you

Amiibo is the perfect match to the character in the game, any game, any character. if there is an Amiibo of it, it's going to look amazing

and if you have the game? bonus content!
how have you never heard of Amiibo?
>>
>>11618299
>Statue
Okay, well, if you want affordability, the later Amiibo are really well sculpted and have decent shelf presence.

Figma have made at least two great Link figures, though which two are up for debate. Despite a lack of accessories and one weird paint app, the Skyward Sword figma is a very nice figure. Twilight Princess is as close as you’ll get to the Ocarina look, though he’s a bit of a manlet and the articulation is odd. A Link Between Worlds strikes a great balance of that Capcom-style Young Link with some classic accessories. You’ve already made your opinion of TotK Link known so I won’t go into the details.
>>
Figmas are good, just wish they did OoT and MM stuff. They have a Ganondorf coming out but it's from the new Hyrule Warriors so.
>>
is this that old copy pasta from back in the skyward sword figma days?
>>
>>11618299
All I want is a good OoT articulated Ganondorf. I was hoping something would come out of his return in Smash Ult, but no. We're stuck with Breath of the Ass Creed for now I guess. Unless OoT remake rumors are true. Even if Samuraidorf is cool I'd still like an oot version at some point.
>>
>>11618472
>None of those are good enough for you?
I want OoT Link, the standard modern Link

Good Smile will make Lank, Zelder and G-Dorf for sure when the Ocarina of Time Remake is released for Switch 2.

I still need the ALBW Link, he looks cute and makes a good catch-all classic Link. An OOT/MM young Link would be cool though.
>>
>>11624977
>Just get the twilight Princess one
ew, no

>>11625160
>muted colors are barf
This. I've hated them ever since they debuted the design.

>>11625179
>An OOT/MM young Link would be cool though.
This is what I want. I mean, ideally, I want picrel with all accessories included, but that's definitely WAY less likely to happen than young Link.
>>
>>11620452
>standard modern Link
That's retro Link now.
Modern Link is the BotW/TotK designs.
>>
>>11625190
Figman mm young kink & skull kid would be fucking awesome never going to happen tho
>>
>>11625238
Tragic
Link should wear green and have a pointy hat
>>
>>11624977
It boggles my mind that Nendoroid didn’t try to more authentically recreate the Wind Waker aesthetic.
>>
>>11625995
What the heck do you mean? The Nendo is about as close as it can be

Fixed

You're gonna have to wait until 2027 when the movie comes out.

Will you accept the funny baby version?
>>
>>11626822
Because it's a fucking Nendoroid. Their entire point is to have those oversized heads. That's the style of the line.
>>
>>11625995
>>11626822
Gamers just straight up hate fun and deviation from the source material huh? no wonder they cried so hard about the super mario movie despite being a box office success
>>
>>11626866
No, I understand wanting an accurate representation of a specific look of the character. Its just that requesting a figure in a line of highly stylized figures to NOT be highly stylized is stupid
>>
>>11626873
just 3D print your own if you think you know better
>>
New movie would surely bring new toys....awful live action toys
>>
>>11618575
People here get tilted when they see amiibo anon
>>
>>11626866
C’mon man elbow joints on a hero of time link would be nice
>>
>>11627182
buy a doll body, make some little doll clothes it's not that hard, gamers seem to love grinding and talking a big game about leveling up and getting those skills in Check yet when it come to real world practical things they could do they scream in pain like a zoomer getting his table taken away
>>
>>11626866
I mean, all the other figures in that lineup are aiming for source material accuracy. There are some Nendos that go out of their way to be more accurate to the source material. I have no issue with stylized representations of characters but the Toon aesthetic is pretty well-defined and while I think Nendoroid was the right line for it, it just looks a bit generic in contrast with the original design.
>>
>>11620452
You might be drunk
>>
>>11627184
Might as well master blender get a 3D printer and some mold casting latex and resin and paints; at that point just design the whole damn thing myself
>>
>>11627397
Holy Shit you fucking retarded zoomer zoomie zoomies can't fucking handle reality and need computer to literally do everything for you your generation is absolutely Fucked
>>
>>11625939
That's just nostalgia bait optional costumes in the games now.
>>
>>11625190
I'd love to get that design and a proper LTTP Link. Preferably not in Figma, but I'd settle for Figma.
>>
>>11627433
Sperg
>>
>>11627397
Now that I’m thinking about how hard would it be to cut some joints into this 3D model & print it? couldn’t be that hard and I’m very fond of the 3DS hero of time link he looks so much like the old promo art
I think that would be a fucking awesome figure & exactly what op is looking for

I managed to get the Jakk's Link today for £11. I'm very torn on this thing; aside from being based on BOTW Link it's CLOSE to being a decent toy for the price, but it's let down entirely by the torso articulation. Limbs are great, double knees and elbows, even toe joints, but the waist is a very loose and rattly ball joint that pops out if you look at it funny and...well, that's it. That's the torso articulation.
On the plus side, I think I've got something I can work with for a custom here. The head is painted kinda derpy but the sculpt itself seems alright, so even if I end up just repainting the head slightly and sticking the noggin on a custom body that's a win in my book.
>>11627985
That 3D model is very, VERY low-poly. Most of the detail is achieved with textures. You'd unironically be better off scaling the model to the size you want and using it as a reference to make a new sculpt with in Blender (or Zbrush, whatever floats your boat). That's what I did when I made my Midna figure. Which reminds me, I must revisit her, I feel I can improve her a bit.
>>
>>11629621
Post your Midna, I'm intrigued I love customs

This is actually an earlier build (I've made some improvements since, need to do more as I've had a few ideas on how to improve the hip engineering in particular) but here's a pic I took a while back. 99% 3D printed, only non-resin parts are 1mm metal pins for joint hinges.
