>Mattel Creations>$150>Ships October 2026This is why toy companies are dying. They're all too afraid to take risks anymore. KPop Demon Hunters is highly toyetic, and Mattel should have at least had some basic Barbies on the market for the Xmas season. In a year KPDH will have lost most of it's relevancy, which is probably why this is Mattel Creations. Mattel knows that with no new media, fickle kids will have moved on by then. This is a colossal blown opportunity. KPDH were the top selling Halloween costumes this year, becoming impossible for parents to find.
>>11619755Americans are just a joke of a country anon, can't do anything right these days and have to control THE MESSAGE as Critical Drinker puts it. If it isn't in-house and has THE MESSAGE why bother investing in new properties?
>>11619765>mommy, mommy
>>11619755>K-Slop Semen Hunters
Why is this movie that's literally extremely popular with preteen girls being marketed and merchandised like it's for collectors only?
>>11619833Because we have the money.
>>11619755>In a year KPDH will have lost most of it's relevancyNo. It will continue to be in the top movies streamed just like Mario and sonic
>>11619755>This is why toy companies are dying. They're all too afraid to take risks anymore. All toy companies take risks, and of course they;re afraid because they lost their dumping ground: Toys R Us
>>11619755I guess I should feel flattered that you took my post verbatum and made a new thread out of it.>>11619825>K-SlopIt's actually surprisingly good. My niece twisted my arm into watching it with her recently, and I felt it was better than any Disney/Pixar animation I've seen since probably Tangled. It had genuine soul put into it, which is contrary to what you's think based on tne title. The songs are genuinely good and stick in your head, and kpop isn't something I've ever listened to. I'm not gonna go out and buy merch, but I've listened to the soundtrack since, and I'd watch the movie again.
>>11619765>"EHHH! AMELIKKKA">*Listens to Critical Drinker, who is American*Why are brownoids like this?
>>11619858>*Listens to Critical Drinker, who is American*Lolwut? Are you trying to out-retard the moron you replied to?
>>11619855That's fair, I wouldn't watch it because I am literally allergic to K-pop and also the thing seemed kiiiiiiinda "written by middle-schoolgirls".
>>11619755>these will come out playline quality at collector line prices due to being rushedSucks, but I’ll wait for later releases. Faces on the secondary band members look a bit off.
>>11619755The price of making and shipping figures has skyrocketed to the point where we are in the riskiest time for action figure producing companies in history. No company in this industry is going to be taking risks anymore. You can bet when you see Mattel's DC offering it will be safest slop you can imagine released in the safest manner.
Completely disgusting that this post was typed out by a man.

>>11619755OP, This movie was sold by Sony to Netflix in a large deal where the only made about 20Mil per movie, so hardly anything. Sony had no faith in the movie, and thus Netflix wasn't expecting much of it either. Toy companies were probably never even approached about this movie until after it was released and blew up into a mega hit. If you had paid attention to he recent news about all the toy companies that signed on for Kpop merch, you'd know that there is a full lineup of all the usual stuff - dolls for kids, collector dolls, figures, cosplay, props, plush, etc - all due out next year for the holidays. This Mattel Creations stuff is just the higher end items that they're putting up for pre order now since their production run will be much smaller than all the other stuff that'll go to retail stores.
>>11619755It’s a movie for 12 year old girls who cares
>>11620185>Toy companies were probably never even approached about this movie until after it was released and blew up into a mega hitdamn Americans really are racist no wonder their country is a third world shit hole
>>11620228You, obviously.Enough to come here to shit post your opinion as if anyone cared about you.
>>11620228Nah it's a gooner movie actually
>>11620185And those toys aren't going to sell because kids will have already moved on to something else
Not being made to orderThese are going to sell out in 0.02 seconds. Then be ebay at 1000% mark up.
i hope that means more kpop demon hunters content next year to help sell the toys
>>11620622How is an oct 2026 release date NOT made to order?
>>11620408Actual children (<8) don't move on that quickly. I had to watch the first cars movie like 200 times over the course of a few yearsI'm surprised that people are letting their toddlers watch this, it's pretty violent
>>11620750You aren't a parent so you won't be catching cartoon violence upside your head after showing them the wrong movie
>>11620713I think anon implies the preorders would be limited; they're planning on a set number not making as many as people /want/ to order(which would be made to order)
>>11620739Its not violent at all. Pretty standard format honestly. It really took off because the songs are really good. The movie itslef is alright. Really only focuses on the main girl and demon. The other 2 kpop girls are basically there for conflict and dont really grow alot through the movie. It has that generic liar reveal thing where the third act is everyone all sad until everything is fixed. Just the same shit you've seen 100 times with nice songs. I can also see people having issue with the idea that demons should be reasoned with when alot of religions views demons as like the absolute corrupted of man and suggesting they can be changed is just opening yourself up to them. I dont even think anyone bleeds in the movie. About as violent as the Ninja Turtles.
>>11620185Dear retard,The point was that toy makers took too much time, by next year there will be another current thing and Huntr/x will be forgotten.
>>11620855Will it? Kpop organically became popular. Only artificial shart dies in cycles. Kpop could legitimately have some lasting power just because it became popular because people actually liked it and not because it was pushed by a studio.
>>11620713Mattel specifically lavels things as "made to order" when they are made to order and these are not labeled as such. As some one who collects motu let me clue you in on something mattel loves not making enough of popular things and too much of unpopular things. They like to make exclusives hard to get an limited and they are generally fucking retarted
>>11620739>the first cars movieThat was almost 20 years ago before kids had endless media options at their fingertips.>>11621162>Kpop could legitimately have some lasting power just because it became popular because people actually liked it and not because it was pushed by a studio. It will be years before another film is released. There needs to be media to retain relevance. A single film with a handful of popular songs will only last so long in a modern kid's consciousness. What they should do to keep interest going is release new Huntr/x music in the interm. If they can bang out some music videos along with it even better.
>>11620855Dear Retard, it'll be fine. Simpler toys like plush, vinyls and board games will be out in the next 3-4 months. Toys like higher end dolls and things like plastic action figures that take more time due to more complex production will be out next fall. They'll do fine. No different than other movies that were unexpected hits and had delayed toylines or when they were keeping spoilery things secret like not having baby Yoda toys out until the following year's holiday season. >>11621277>There needs to be media to retain relevance. A single film with a handful of popular songs will only last so long in a modern kid's consciousness. There were 6 years between the first and second Frozen movies. KPOP will be 4 yrs. They'll prob just release another short, or music videos once or twice between the films just like Frozen did.
mira sex
Chinese bootleg wins where big brands fail... again.
the fact that they have so much porn means there will always be interest
Hey any toy from a cartoon that Frodo spins for a bunch of high, drugged out Alaskans is A-OK by me.
>>11619755are they nakeablet. coomer
Yeah, they sold out in seconds. God is hate Mattel.Just another day of them making their most desired products limited and refusing to update their website so bots cant buy jt all in seconds
>>11619848>implying the unavoidable sequel won't hit like a truck as well
>>11624793Why would they make it limited if you don't get them for a year? They could have easily been made to order. I really don't get these companies who would rather let scalpers make money than them.
>>11624954I honestly think the wealthy people who run these companies dont know about toys and only understand luxury clothes brands who justify their high prices wirh limited releases of variations. Especially Mattel who owns Barbie and Monster High. They probably higher people from fashion and clothes marketing that cant get jobs in their own industries.Thats why they release multiple versions of the same character at different price points.Thats why random shit people want is hyper limited. Its why they think release day sniping and flipping is normal. Its clothing people. There probably isnt a single old toy guy or gal in marketing and release selection
Its up. Order cap of 3 and a captcha to prevent bor ordering Good luck
>>11620185>and blew up into a mega hit.lol, believing the Netflix hype machine. It makes Netflix no additional money because subscribers don't pay extra for it. It's part of the whole package
>>11625132Anon, it got a theater release, which did make them extra moneyAs well as the cds and lps.
>>11625132The music alone is huge, it's nominated for 5 Grammys. It was the number 1 Halloween costume this year. It was the top selling collab in Fortnite while it was in the shop. It was even the subject of an SNL sketch in the season premiere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LW9QJIT_T-AYou underestimate how big this is. I would too if I didn't have a 10 year old niece keeping me in the know.
>>11619859found the troon.
>>11624793It's impossible for them to keep scalpers from buying up all the stock, nor are they in any way incentivized to do so. If people would stop buying from scalpers, then scalpers would stop.
>>11625510>It's impossible for them to keep scalpers from buying up all the stock, nor are they in any way incentivized to do so. If people would stop buying from scalpers, then scalpers would stop.MATTEL is pretty horrible...but...the preorder is still up. They did an encode. So far it does not appear to be limited
>>11621400I wonder if that's the problem. The big companies failed to predict the movies success and make toys for its release so Chinese bootlegs immediately saturated the market. Now there's no use in making playline dolls because all the normies have already bought bootlegs (plus any bad reviews of the bootlegs might stick to the official products). So releasing limited collectors preorders is the only way they can make money
>>11619855>genuine soul
>>11621277It depends on the age group. My nieces were fixated on Lilo & Stitch when they first saw it even thought it wasn't "new" - they ate up the live action movie now, and they are pre-teens. They didn't care about the toys but I know from talking to my sister that they do want the plushies, so I bought the really nice versions of those. Some shit is very disposable, and I would think K-Pop DH is exactly that, but that's also what I thought about Wednesday, the first time I saw stills a few years ago, that people would forget about a few years later, like Sabrina or Umbrella Academy. So we never actually know.
>>11619755The official poster book is due out Dec 30th. How bad can you drop the ball on that, you can't push it and get it out for the holidays?
