Is Mega dead? Is Mattel Brick Shop replacing it? Are we getting more sets? Did Lego kill Mega for good? Who knows! I'M TIRED OF CAR SHITPLEASE, JUST DO LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE

>>11622600I’m glad the thread is back :)
Are we BACK?
>>11623557Mega is better than Lego. Mega won.
I wish they did more than one Skyrim set.The one they did was from their partnership with Microsoft, right? I'd love if we got more, specifically of the buildings and iconic scenery from the game.
>>11623566Blokees are model kits, they have nothing to do with building block toys like Lego or Mega
>>11623555There's nothing like sippin MNT DEW® Code Red® while playing with my Mattel™ MEGA® Halo® Building Kits.
I bought the brick shop sl300 and the bricks weren’t as nice as Lego…
>>11622948The sad thing is the advantage Mega has over Lego is the minifigs themselves, even though this is what Lego is famous for. Lego minifigs don't like like miniature action figures. They look like playmobil or something. They look like shit on the same shelf as Transformers or any other toy they are supposed to be in scale with. But most of what Mattel is putting out don't even have the superior Mega minifigs.
>>11624877I'm willing to bet money they'd do Barbie.

>>11626594yes
>>11626858Singapore.
>>11626846Not really, was finally used to Mega Construx after that change and them rebranding Mega Bloks to just be their junior stuff.
>>11627505The minifigures better still be Mega style.
>>11624880Is demon slayer happening?
>>11627622Wonder why they didn't choose My Hero Academia. Much more variety design and setting-wise.
>>11627685>anti-mega schizo is a legofagevery time
I was just asking if mega demon slayer actually going to be a thing? I haven’t seen anything about it until today
>>11627899Alright
>>11626645bought the NSX and it was really well built. The only stickers are for the alternative build which was really nice. It fits together really nice too. I'm not sure about the smaller sets though.>>11627676Megas hot wheels sets mog speed champions
>>11628298How? The first Lego BTTF Delorean came out in 2013 and Mattel only brought Mega in 2014, it was never possible for them to beat Lego to the punch.
>>11627892i dont think soI haven't seen any of the Mega news channels cover it
>>11627505No. Literally no one cares about GI Joe or MotU even with that new movie coming, even less because Jared Leto is starring in it. Halo and Gears are only popular with spics so it will be a tiny niche market unless GoW E Day is a massive hit. Resident Evil maybe, but it's still a fairly niche horror franchise.Maybe GTA VI but honestly for generic city sets Lego is still just going to overshadow Mega, I mean Mattel, especially because Lego has decades of city shit. They may carve their own niche back into the market though since their minifigs are god tier and people are getting sick of Lego's bs, lots of people are going with chink brink companies and shilling for them for free.
>>11627892We don't even know if we'll have Halo sets, let alone Demon Slayer...
>>11629248Oh ok gotcha that’s a shame
>>11630021I remember my preorder seemed so secure heading into December. One day it was just gone... would have been a really fun set. Man-E is a weird choice though, maybe Moss Man with painted on ornaments or something.

It seems we are getting some Mattel Brick Shop reveals at Brazil comic con. Might be non hot wheels...
>>11631750Good
So I am getting some of the new Mega stuff, I haven't collected any sets after the Megabloks/Dragons era so I bought the Witcher set which was amazing and I bought a couple of GoT sets.So my question is, why the fuck is the quality so bad in that particular series? Like holy shit look at this. The pieces for the set even came in stained. What the hell was Mega doing during that time?
>>11634260>new got setsHoly Boomer what year are you from
>>11634265Well it's newer than my Pyrate stuff which released in like 2006.Still, I am surprised at the awful decline in quality, but what also surprises me is that they amped up their game again when they transitioned from Megaconstrux to Mega it seems. I like the mobility of the minifigs to put them in all sorts of poses, the pyrates figures were already kinda there but the plastic quality was not nearly as good as it became. I do wonder what kind of fucking photoshop magic they did because the actual figures themselves look nowhere near like the ones advertised on the box.
Are old Mega figures fragile? I'm watching a YT video of someone comparing the two and the guy said the old ones broken often. I was absolutely baffled to hear this because in my experience both are sturdy, unless I did something to them, like put Lego weapons in their hands. Also things geared towards "adult collectors" are way more fragile in my opinion because toys are meant to put through the ringer.
>>11634373 in my experience yes, though it's really weird. From my Dragons collection, the dark gray knights mostly hold up today, the legs are kinda loose but the main issue in all Megabloks figures were always the hands. It was rigid plastic, not the greatest quality, so if you put weapons in their hands just a few times they were prone to breaking. And of course there was the loose leg joints in a lot of figures. I love my collection but the quality varied a ton and it was a real hassle when it came to the figures. Weapons and all kinds of small accesories are delicate and can break easily.I find the new figures I've been buying much sturdier. I've only had them for a little bit, but I can already feel a difference in quality because the plastic is more "flexible" so I don't think it will randomly break if I equip a weapon on them. I greatly dislike the new feet though, very hard to place on studs. Also older figures had much better quality on them when it comes to detail I think.
>>11634373How old are we talking? Some of my old Dragons figs are still holding on but a bunch of them broke years ago, mainly at the hands or legs. And those that did survive fully are still a bit loose. I have a bunch of Halo figs from the very first wave that are still holding on after 15 years of play. Only notable losses from that era are an elite with a broken neck joint, a grunt (the very first mold they did) with a broken hip and a Spartan with comically loose legs. Anything after 2015 I haven't had break on me yet.It seems their plastic is just inconsistent. If you get a fragile one it'll snap as soon as you place a weapon in the hand, if not - it will last you a lifetime.Funnily enough though their dragons are so sturdy I bet they'd survive a nuclear blast. I still have a bunch from my childhood, from the plasma egg line or whatever it was called, that I've been playing with constantly since then. Still feel like brand new.
wow didn't realize they were still making these legos-for-poors
>>11634260>>11634274The Night King is very sad that Mega was unable to do him justice. Not sure what you mean by stains, Mega was doing their "camouflage effect" bricks way back with the first wave of Halo Wars and have kept that up to give their bricks a unique look.>>11634373First gen Halo figs frequently have similar issues with their hands, particularly the translucent-coloured guys.
>>11622600Are there any mega blocks figures that would work as a decent stand in for Alex Keller from the Modern Warfare reboot?
>>11622600Metal Gear license when?
So I've realized Dragons is great for doing Warhammer scenes. Initially I was doing various fantasy MOCs like with LOTR and so on but this just blends so naturally into the WH style.
>>11639773 MEGA really should have done tie-in stuff for the D&D movie or game. (hero sets, monsters and character gear packs) There is / was a precedent with working with HASBRO with the (limited) G.I.Joe stuff.
Anybody looking to pick up a MOTU Panthor at Point Dread, you can find it on Woot for about $18.
>>11639773>>11641999These look sick
>>11643776 I really like my new windmill. I wish there were more of the standard COD-sized female bodies and heads though. It's easy to populate a world with post appoc dudes and zombies - less so with women.
>>11644126This, but guys with hairMost Mega males are b*ld for some reasonThey developed removable hair pieces for the AC line only for them to disappear into the voidbtw have you tried the females from the infinite era of Halo MarinesThere was a brief period where they tried to make them scale closer to the CoD figures but people didn;t like it due to them being taller than spartans
>>11644309 I remember those HALO figures. one of the snipers if I'm not mistaken. Honestly the range of female characters was small. If they had made actual Witcher figures (Besides Gerrault) we might have seen more.. but even the Futureama figures only had Fry and Bender. They never made a female colonial marine or a Scully figure. The He Man line had the most female characters in any group, ( Ignoring Monster High and Barbie. ) And I don't want the giant tit torsos that casters are producing. (with prohibitive post to Leafland anyway.)
>>11643776I wish Dragons would come back. Or any fantasy IP really. The latest I acquired was a couple of GoT small sets and the Witcher set, which while actually a great set, is just the one and done. So now I am scavenging ebay for anything that might come up while trying not to go into massive debt
>>11647043I wish they had made smaller Witcher set(s) with more of the characters. (from the games not the T.V.) . That way they would have been a lot more appealing than a "Masterbuild": one off. Gerralt, Dandelion, Ciri, Yen and Triss as well as a man at arms or two and a few smaller monsters. And also big monsters - but not the superfluous buildings. with lower prices. I suspect they could have made use of the Game of Thrones parts as well.
>>11646960There was also the GoT female figures. I planned on buying multiples of the throne set to customize the faces--specifically thought about turning Ceres into a awoken. Only bought one though.>>11647043Did you buy the Skyrim set?>>11647364They could've easily at least given us an Unsullied (or whatever they're called) vs the ice zombies. I'm not a GoT fans and have only seen clips of season eight so i don't know the terminology.
Cool work in progress.
>>11649196is it an arena?
>>11649459Not an arena. It's Legoland.
