Welcome to the Transformers General!Last time on The Transformers: >>11622002Brawl is making his way into people's hands! Are you getting him?
>>11625879Last combiner for me untill we will get new Predaking, Piranacon/God Neptune and GE Bruticus.
>>11625879Yeah, when Firefight arrives in two days I will have the last three combiners complete, now it's Bruticus turn (already have Vortex).>>11625899Defensor is bland but I'm still interested in him, there's fewer Autobot combiners after all.
How about a Dinobots combiner that isn't Volcanicus
>>11625913I want Defensor, but not with these new prices.
>>11625879I’m assuming this bruticus is going to look pretty bad seeing how they’re making us but all the figures before showing us what it looks likeAnd you have no other options vortex is already selling out
>>11625913>Defensor is blandDefensor is awesome, I love his black with baby blue and he always seemed like the toughest of the 3 original Autobot combiners to me in-universe.
>>11625913I might stop at Devastator. Defensor will be annoyingly shorter than him and for a sharp price hike. I love Computron but I might as well snoop around for the original since I love the colors more there. God Neptune will be a re-release and not much less expensive than current ebay prices.
>>11625879>Are you getting him?Been out of mainline since Kingdom but came back for Bruticus since he's my favourite, not really interested in any other G1 combiners aside from maybe Predaking.
>>11625879>Brawl is making his way into people's hands! Are you getting him?Bruticus and Devastator are the only ones i need.Obviously Abominus is my most favorite but i don't believe we getting him or getting him that soon.I would love to get the toon-Abominus - i already have PotP abominus so i need another version.

If you intentionally forget to do so, then you're a troll who is intent on making this thread get lost.
>>11625960>Remember not to forget labeling the general with /tfg/. If you intentionally forget to do so, then you're a troll who is intent on making this thread get lost. And I didn't. Why even say this?
Side note, I wonder if someone is intent on making their own custom stickers separate from ToyHax. To be brutally honest, the ones we got from them in regards to Star Convoy... suck. They messed up on the Micro Trailer sticker, as it should have just followed the pattern of the other numbered Micro Trailers (13 CYBERTRON but with the option of the Battlestars special Autobot logo or his Prime Master sigil).
>>11625962Because anon did that yesterday and there's an unlabeled thread on the catalog currently.I don't understand what anon gains from being an annoying faggot at /tfg/, it can't be THAT amusing to be an unlikable dick.
>>11625962Why? Because the last two threads didn't even fucking label them properly as /tfg/.
>>11625960Still wonder why they chose to make Nexus Prime a voyager instead of putting him in the leader slot.
>>11625967Unicron (possibly) and Liege Maximo are more known for fans. So maybe that's it.
>>11625943>he always seemed like the toughest of the 3 original Autobot combiners to me in-universe.Because he rarely appears, so he doesn't have time to turn into a jobber like everyone else.
>>11625951>I might stop at Devastator. Defensor will be annoyingly shorter than himThat's a good thing, I want the scramble city ones being the same size, Devastator is the one that does things differently.
>>11625967Voyager torso combiner, just like in Combiner Wars.
>are you that new guy?>y-yeah i'm a p-part of Combaticons....>you kinda small for a combat-guy>yeah he's kinda tiny for a war-guyIt's funny that even the cheapest of Constructicons are bulky heavy and chunky and bigger than other combiner limbs.Even the CW-guys are smaller than Bonecrusher and Scrapper.Vortex is so tiny compared to them!
>>11625990Vortex will feel better when he drops somebody to their death from a high altitude.
>>11625967Maybe he's just some random robot that doesn't seem to be a combiner like in One.That would suck, so at the very least I hope he can turn into a torso that has ports to attach arms and legs of frame combiners.
I like my women like I like my leader classes; beefy voyagers
gee-twooooners how we feeling?
>>11626066
>>11626066>>11626067Gorgeous, Sludge is maybe a bit too orange compared to the prototype but I like the head on Swoop. G2 Motormaster any day now...
>>11626060Based and architect pilled>>11626066When Motormaster and Wildrider
>>11626066>>11626067holy crap this is VOMIT-tier...what the fuckI don't believe some pretentious anon would like this.I can't stand even the blue grimlock but what the fuck are these. They look thos $5 chinese toys... who the fuck thought this was a good idea?!>>11626070>Gorgeous, Sludge is maybe a bit too orange compared to the prototype but I like the head on Swoop. G2 Motormaster any day now...dudei don't believe you. You just playing contrarian. My eyes literally tried to divorce me when i opene that picture
>>11626081You just aren't radical enough to appreciate them anon. Its okay, I forgive you.
>>11626084that swoop is shitty not radicalPicrelated is radical. That swoop and longneckboy look like cheap bootlegs
Can someone do a Kingdom Tracks and RoadRage headswap? I wanna see RRs head on Tracks
>>11626085Considering Swoop and Sludge have 3 out of 4 of the main colors of the toxic copter, I think they are quite radical. Leave it up to Toyhax to make the extreme stickers.
>>11625879This thread is spooking me.I literally just got a Combiner Wars Brawl (store was getting rid of old stock so i got it pretty cheap)The tank mode makes me very happy. Should i hunt down the other CW Combaticons? How's Onslaught and Swindle, those 2 are my favorites.oh and one more question, does anyone else have problems with the waist on their CW Brawl? mine unplugs easy and i just got it off the box today.
>>11626095>The tank mode makes me very happy. Should i hunt down the other CW Combaticons? How's Onslaught and Swindle, those 2 are my favorites.Onslaught got weak ratchets and swindle is probably the best combaticon mold, they are all mediocre overall
>>11626102>Onslaught got weak ratchetsdamn, i heard Hot spot was really good. Still might invest in that since Bruticus is the only combiner i kinda give a shit about.
>>11625986>Heatwave : new voyager, looks like tfone nexus in robot mode>Landquake : cw brawl retool>Skyfall : new deluxe>Breakaway : cw Air raid retool>Topspin : new deluxeThis is what I would be ok with.
>>11626104I recommend to get AoTP if only because so far vortex is way more solid than the all of the CW combaticon components
>>11626106are they doing with that one the same thing they did with Menasor? I wasn't a fan of the whole, Menasor base body and you just plop everyone else around like accessories
>>11626095>oh and one more question, does anyone else have problems with the waist on their CW Brawl? mine unplugs easy and i just got it off the box today.I played a lot with my Brawl back then and yes - i remember waist unplugging all the time.CW-Brawl is basically a brick. You can't play with him too much otherwise you will mess with his waist or shouldersJust pose him, but he's not for the heavy play.
>>11626108Thank you for that info. It's a bit annoying because i like to mess around with my figures in hand before laying them down, but i'll just be careful i guess.
>>11626090>Considering Swoop and Sludge have 3 out of 4 of the main colors of the toxic copter, I think they are quite radical. Leave it up to Toyhax to make the extreme stickers.yeah i might just go with these dinobots.I see Grimlock is still around 50eur, and i agree that these colors are pretty radical and this is their thing.Basically 2 of these dinobots cost like 1 SS86 dinobot.I hope there will be good stickers
>>11626095I like my CW Combaticons but I never got the shuttle BlastOff, so I'm stuck with the airplane one.
i hope for beast wars' 30th anniversary hastak releases a weaponizer waspinator we can remove the limbs of and blow up to our heart's content
>>11626107>are they doing with that one the same thing they did with Menasor?Yes, sadly
>>11626066I thought these were the potp moulds for some reason
>>11626108Update, saw an easy fix of just popping the hips of the ball joints, reversing them on the waist, rotating the waist and plugging it in and it fixes the weak waist.I did it and it actually really works
>>11626066>>11626067I like that they're finishing the set even though these never had G2 figures released, but their bright neon colors feels out of place with the dull primary colors of the other figures. These look like they're more meant to go with the yellow Legacy G2 Grimlock than Blue G2 Grimlock, Red G2 Snarl, and Green.G2 Slug.
>>11626118I was always disappointed that Kingdom Waspinator didn't at least have removable limbs when we had SS86 Kup in the same year with that feature.
>>11626142>Yellow GrimlockFuckyear. Good thing I got him over the Blue bitch with cuck Wheelie.
>>11626142>These look like they're more meant to go with the yellow Legacy G2 GrimlockThat's because they are. All three of those decos were unreleased concept ones, which did not include Snarl and Slag. It's a weird case where the G2 dinobots were never actually released as a full team, just partial ones, so we have two very clashing aesthetics
>>11625879>Ima just keep makin more and more threads and imagebomb the last ones
>>11626184the fact you noticed it and announced it to anon only means he will keep doing it.
>>11626176these arts look amazingThey fucked up making colors way too "cheap" looking.they should have made orange and green darker
>>11626176
>>11626130>>11626108Here, the fix i followed was this. The waist locks on now and doesn't unplug anymore, i'm really glad
>>11626215nicebut he looks like Brawl's little nephew now, that's kind of cute actually :D
>>11626227His dumpy arms already made him cute, so this just completes the look
Is there a list somewhere of which Soundwaves have compatible cassettes?
R-REACHCH FOR THE SKYYY-Y....
>>11626194It is weird. When I was younger and had many less Transformers, the unreleased G2 Grimlock artwork seemed like the coolest thing, but now it exists and I don't feel much about it.
>>11626194Kek this was my pic. I love yellow Grimlock. (Toxlock? Grimtox?) I just got the blue one and he's really cool also but this one is still my favorite.
>>11626254G1, Masterpiece , G.I. Joe and Universe Ravage are cross-compatibleSiege, Earthrise and Studio Series 86 are cross-compatibleKingdom (core class), Studio Series BBM, Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, Titans Return, WST and Titanium are not cross-compatible
>>11626285Looks like I'm hunting for Siege Ravage then, thanks anon
>>11626293I have a Siege Ravage in my Soundwave right now.
>>11626144they're not on ball joints and mushroom pegs?
>>11626187he'll do it regardlessthis is why i'm such a wet blanket. if i hear any of my friends have been 'trolling' or 'shitposting' i'm like, people are destroying others' lives because of autistic obsession. even if your version is LESS, it's still... that. our patience is full.
This motherfucker is so fucking cool.
>>11626319>Universe Nemesis PrimeI am incomprehensibly jealous, that is a genuine grail for me.
>>11626254The only full set of "cassettes" I own are the Fall of Cybertron Data Disks.
>>11626319It really is a shame how sauceless every other Nemesis Prime after him has been, with armada having probably the far off second best.
>>11626320I've had him since I was nine. The Big Convoy mold is fucking art.
>>11626319at first i felt like mind blown and got excited but then understood that it's probably the old toy and googled it.Fucking damn... why can't we have stuff like this?!
I still love Chromias CH colours
>>11626326>fat ass wings in the way so only half the throne is usableClueless bitch
wait there is BLUE version?i hope they will make one to go with my Blue Grimlock
>>11626319>>11626322>>11626324The mold is best in Ultra Magnus colours imo. Black big convoy is a close second
>>11626328There's also a blue and white version
>>11626325Literally the only flaw he has as a figure is that his wrists don't swivel.Obviously as Big Convoy there are some oddities like his chest being a little wide and his shins could be a smidge longer and his ankle articulation will always bug me, but for a twenty year old figure he holds up fantastically. The Nemesis Prime deco is amazing, I wish everyone could get the opertunity to see one in person.
I'm a BBC enjoyer personally
>>11626329Nah, the Ultra Mammoth color scheme holds it back, Big Convoys dad is cooler looking. As far as I'm concerned deco wise it's>1) Nemesis Prime>2) Encore (I wish the arm was still clear red and the yellow was a yellow gold)>3) Black>4) Blue Big Convoy>5) Og color/matrix buster set>6) Mammoth
>>11626319I can't get into the red tusk tips, but otherwise YES. fucking badass to the max. What a great combo. Black, ebony brown, creamy gold, creamy scarlet, pale metallic cyan, and silver. it just .. goddamn works. and the red eyes are the icing. I'd feel bad painting over the tusk tips but overall really want this guy.
>>11626324luckyyy how'd you guys get stuff like that>>11626328This one's also great, but the tusks being dark weirds me out.>>11626329this one, I feel like the teal fur is too much. I would have gone with white mammoth, teal robot parts.
>>11626333shit that one works too. though I would have gone with amber eyes for the mammoth
>>11626322>>11626324I like that this goes for a midnight blue in parts, like Armada Nemesis, as opposed to just black.
>>11626370I hate that this actually looks gorgeous but holy shit with the overprice of whats basically a voyager
>>11626321For the longest while, these were the only ones that offered the whole gang, well, the basic gang. How long did it take Seige et. all to finally give us all the basics?
>>11626371I caved the moment it went up for general sale. I'm so weak. But he's so good.
Does anyone know how this guy feels in-hand? I like his colors a lot
>>11626384Chunky and with a lot of ratchet joints. Limited arm articulation though.
Anyone ever read the King Grimlock comic? I feel like they bungled such an easy win. All they had to do was make lots of cool art of Grimlock fighting various fantasy monsters... but instead they made some gay story with some cringe and lame girl boss showing Grimlock the error of his ways.
>>11626370i would call that a very dark teal, which is SOMETIMES called navy, but not the proper navy which is more desaturated royal blue.
>>11626384I have the Dirge repaint & its pretty fun. Arms are a bit limited but I don't mind
>>11626402>>11626406Oh yeah, with the bigger pic it's pretty clear that those shoulders don't go many directions except around in a circle. The paint looks way blockier on the Dirge though
>>11626384Absolute worst of the Cybertron line to be honest.
>>11626384Janky but it feels good
>>11626384his jet parts look like nothing, and they turn into limb parts that look like nothing, aside from the forearms and head. the hip attachment is stupid, the nosecone being this long crotch when it's not even the nosecone of the plane, nor does IT even look like anything in either mode..>>11626406and yet, this looks kind of amazing. The pose helps.
>>11626411It is, you can see the blue on thead is chipped on mine>>11626415He ain't bad, just a semi brick on the upper half
>>11626415The alt mode doesn't matter all too much to me, I keep maybe 1/10 of my guys in their vehicle modes anyway>>11626416I honestly think this pic alone looks way better, might just be a lighting thing though. The first pic looks rrrrrreally rough, this one looks great regardless of chip
>>11626066>>11626067Oh, they're finishing the team? Neat! I happened to love neon color scheme, so these two are right up my alley (even though they don't really match Bluelock, Greensnarl, or Slagred). Are they going to be another two-pack?
Anyone know of a KO Devastator that has actual Decepticon emblems? Or one you can fix that with upgrade kits for? That's always irked me with third party stuff
>>11626428No KO/3P/bootleg will have faction symbols. You'll need to by some decals. Ocean, if you want quality, or Toyhax, if you're a pleb.
>>11626433UnderstandableAlways hated that shit with Gundam because I have chronically shaky hands, I can't even apply Lego stickers correctly
>>11626435that's why i stopped building gundams and now stick to zoids, fuckin shakyhands. If you want my advice, invest in really good tweezers. the kind with sharp tips (for peeling up stickers, and letting go of them once you're done) and a little bend at the tip (so you can use your wrist better)
>>11626437Thanx anonLord knows I can't afford any of the official Devastators so I guess it's rock or hard place
>>116264383P's cheaper this time? huh.
>>11626435You could maybe try waterslide decals. They take a bit more work but so long as the decal is wet you can reposition it as much as you want. Plus they look much better than stickers when applied.
>>11626440You can get some of these for like $50, I haven't seen any official ones for under $100. Maybe I just suck at looking
>>11626442crazy, 3P prices are gettin lower. maybe because they know theyll be fucked
>>11626444This is the main one that pops up for me when I search
>>11626404>Anyone ever read the King Grimlock comic?I have. Like you said, it was incredibly disappointing. It was the kind of story where Grimlock being a huge transforming robot didn't matter at all. You could have replaced him with any generic sword and sorcery hero and the story would have played out the exact same way. Also, Grimlock himself felt oddly stiff and stoic as a character. Also it didn't help that he was using his evergreen design instead of something unique.
>>11626450You can get this guy for $40 with free shipping on aliexpress
>>11626450huh. well-reviewed?
>>11626482But is he any good?Sidenote does anyone else think Mixmaster not using his mixer as a fuckoff arm cannon in his robot mode is a huge missed opportunity?
>>11626404It was just a remake of the G1 season 3 episode, but worse.
>>11626488>But is he any good? He's a KO of CW Titan Devastator (hasbro version) that's been downscaled to be about the same size as the other CW combiners. According to reviews he's pretty okay and an amazing deal considering he's only $40
new thunderclash when
>>11626491That's what I paid for a dogshit Herucles KO back around the CW days. Seriously he sucks, absolute gyp.
>>11625879>>11625913Kinda sameI was basically checking out 2 releases into Menasor and only bought a single Aerialbot and only because it's Air RaidFriend gifted me Silverbolt and Slingshot so I felt inclined to eat it and get the other twoI wanted Vortex cause I like him but the more I messed with him the more I just really don't think he's good and the arms drive me insaneThey're just such a bad flaw that I almost don't even mess with him anymore>>11626428Man I have the KO and fuck this looks so much better detailed
>>11626428Not including the faction symbols is how those 3rd Party companies avoid lawsuits, anon. The symbols are copywritten, while the appearances of the characters isn't (because they're constantly changing. I think only the Evergreen designs are protected by copywrite). Some 3Ps may include stickers with the symbols bundled in as a "bonus", but for the most part, you're usually going to have to provide them yourself.
My only Bruticus is the Fall of Cybertron one, so yes I plan to upgrade to the AoP version.
>>11626506>Man I have the KO and fuck this looks so much better detailedAnon my picrel is also a KO. I think it's called DX9 War in Pocket Hulkie. Core-class scale keep in mind>>11626508>Not including the faction symbols is how those 3rd Party companies avoid lawsuits, anon.Maybe I'm a retard but I figured since it's all illegal they wouldn't give a shit. Didn't know they actually bothered with loopholes
>>11626510So I guess there's multiple KO's then and mine is the lower effort one cause his ass does not look that good
>>11626513There are real many of them, I was trying to figure out which one's the good one because I love Devastator but I don't have the money for an official one
>>11626508you're close. the symbols are registered trademarks, which are much more viciously policed and have no fair use workarounds.the characters' appearances and indicia are copyrighted, which is a lot easier to argue around.of course it's all moo since these companies are in lawless countries, and as powerful as lawyers are, they haven't managed to break that barrier yet. so they stay home and oppress people domestically.
>>11626488considering it was made removable in the first place, yeah not having the drum be able to become a weapon is.but a lot of figures have missed opportunities anymore.
>>11626521>but a lot of figures have missed opportunities anymore.I mean even in the design itself, not even considering the toys. But I guess his deal is more being a leg than being a Transformer on his own
>>11626509I've got the G2 Fruiticus variant. The box was tight but the bots are shite.
>>11626529This reads like Thew
>>11626533the man has taste in words. if only he was less fond of the taste of semen.
>>11625914
>>11626569I remember when this came out I was a kid and knew of grimlock only from wiki searches, so when a new one was coming out I was so excited, I could finally own a TF legend, and he came with swoop who I thought had a great looking robot mode. Of course, this thing never showed up where I was, so once again I only knew of them through the internet. I think the Classics was my first Grimlock (also never saw the RID Grim) and though he disappointed Classics was still a really cool time to be a new fan who got to interact with all the old TFs from the 80s.
>>11626258The one character who deserves a generations update.
>>11626604Considering how they bungled Shadow Striker and Slipstream, I'd be concerned about it.
>>11626582For me this guy introduced me to Grimlock before I even knew what G1 really was. Then season 2 happened and the crazy plot twists where it was all earth the whole time, Ravage was from G1 etc. and I found out about everything through the internet around the same time. It was so fucking cool at the time it felt like G1 was legendary and mythical history even though it wasn't really that long ago at the time.Later I found a Generation 2 Snarl at a yard sale. I lost the original BW Grimlock by that time but I would play with him with Transmetals and shit. I think he was one of my favourite toys because I finally understood why die cast was a lost art.
>>11626608God I loved this big hunk of metal and plastic so much. I didn't keep most of my childhood toys and I never really ever tracked one down again. The new versions of Snarl never get his Stegosaurus head right IMO because it doesn't go flush with the rest of his body and I'm really autistic about it because he was one of my favourite toys. I never bothered finding the original either for some reason.
>>11626608>it felt like G1 was legendary and mythical history'88 babby, felt the same way watching the tapes from Blockbuster, getting the movie on tape, playing with hand-me-down Transformers and finding a few at garage sales, getting a handful of the Marvel comics and binging them religiously.
>>11626614that was smart. i never figured that out, i was just like 'where is transformers?' then when beast wars came out, it was better than cars, so
>>11626516>of course it's all moo
>>11626614>Transformers and finding a few at garage sales, getting a handful of the Marvel comics and binging them religiously.During BW I read a few of the American comics because my barber would put all of his son's old unused 80s comics in the waiting room for the kids. So I have vivid memories of issue 1 where Ratchet makes hotdogs on his hand or whatever. Growing up when you couldn't just look up anything and slightly before the 80s were milked to death is crazy to think about now. Maybe kids still feel like that though and I just grew up lol.
>>11626654it was definitely weird how you just accepted that you were never going to see more than a minute sliver of what exists, like trying to catch snow on your tongue. Now you can fucking cram yourself with snow all day til you vom, and it feels like there was a happy medium we missed.
>>11626066>>11626067Feels pretty dang good! I was originally thinking of skipping these since I'm not big on unreleased color schemes, but those look so bright and vibrant that I might not be able to resist!
I saw a KO EVA-01 MP10 Optimus on a chinese store the other day. Should i bite the bullet? They are asking for 50$
>>11626633It's like a cow's opinion, it's moo.
>>11626713Is it the regular size or the OS MPP10 ver. Make sure before you buy it they made both. I would get it personally, I have the official & it looks great in person
>49eurthis is the lowest i saw this grimlock mold going forAnons should i say "fuck it" and go for the whole team of G2 dinobots?I have just Swoop from the SS86 and the rest of them are so expensive. Going for G2 seems like a less stressful and more fun way to complete dinobots.I just wish they add an additional color to the G2 Swoop's beak. Whole green for his head just feels unfinished: >>11626067i like the bronto-bro colors
>>11626747
>>11626744I believe it's the OS one, guess i'm running there tomorrow and hoping it's still there
>>11626608I was familiar G1 Grimlock first yet the BW Grim design has always been one of my favorites
Anyone owns CW Menasor, Superion, Bruticus and Defensor?I would like to see them in unifying colors like:- Menasor with all black limbs- Superion with all white limbs- Bruticus with all turquoise/dark blue limbs- Defensor with all light blue limbs
>>11626713Oh that’s a sure fire purchase for me mp-10 is low key still the best transformer ever made
>>11626747>Anons should i say "fuck it" and go for the whole team of G2 dinobots?Of you don't mind the retina-burning colors sure.
>>11626803>mp-10 is low key still the best transformer ever madeHard disagree, the articulation was always lacking and the proportions are not great.Still a fun toy for sure, but best transformer? Not even close.
>>11626833>>11626835Out of the way, plebs. The real best Transformer of all time coming thru
>>11626838Now THAT is autism. I'm impressed.
>>11626654I had 10 or so of the comics as a kid, including the one where Optimus blows himself up over a video game, and the later one where his mind is in a VR environment while he's 'dead'. Also Megatron getting stuck as a gun and manipulating some 2-bit gangster.I know what you mean about the incompleteness of it all back then, for years I didn't know the full line of G1 TFs so every now and then I'd got surprised by seeing Jumpstarters or Firecons who I'd never known existed, it was endlessly fun to wonder about what else might be out there awaiting discovery. I had an incomplete Gunrunner when I was very little and spent an inordinate amount of time speculating on what his altmode was supposed to be. The Ark? A piece of Autobot city? A combiner's shin? Little anon had no idea he was missing a whole car to drive in, or that his altmode was actually "chunk on the bottom of plane".
>>11626428>>11626506I have the KO of this figure and its a piece of fucking junk. It broke in multiple places. I would not recommend this to anyone. Do not buy
>>11626838>The Decepticon "free thinkers".

>>11626868>mp-10 gets mogged by earthrise Optimus primeHad you said SS86 I would agree, but no matter how much of a boner some people get here with the Earthrise, it's not all that great. That bumper and wheels combo in his ass is inexcusable, and the thighs being on plain sight in truck mode is laughable, even the G1 toy was able to hide them and have a solid looking cab.
>>11626887Eh, its's a fun gimmick when they limit it to the characters that had always been headmasters instead of forcing it were it doesn't belong. At least tell me that your reason for not liking headmasters is not that you're afraid of losing the head like some people here have said in the past, because that's way more retarded.

>>11626608>It was so fucking cool at the time it felt like G1 was legendary and mythical history even though it wasn't really that long ago at the time. It's kinda funny that how BW portrays G1 as this big mythical and legendary event and what G1 media was actually like(full of goofy shit) reflects real history where we aggrandize historical figures but in reality many were dysfunctional weirdos.
>>11626847After I grew up I realized I had a fucking Microman bootleg somehow. It was those balls that turned into the bird lion and robot in all chrome. And I has Laser Prime and Cyberjets somehow who were fucking awesome. And I had 1 part of G2 devastator. I wish I still had all my toys. Seeing the 1984 movie when I was 16 blew my mind too. >>11627147They were. Not sure why that changed. Maybe just that it's less syllables and therefore quicker to say?
You'd think not actually combining would mean the individual figure would be way better but they're still consistently some of the worst figures in their lines.
>>11627200I don't have the stunticons so I can't comment on them butair raid and slingshot are better than Solus Prime in my opinion, and a case could be made about them being better than waspinator, and that's just in their own wave of deluxesskydive and fireflight are lazy retools but they're still pretty damn good compared to the actual worst figures of AOTP, which are the junkions and heatwave
>>11627187I hope we see updates of micromaster combiners/energon combiners in the style of Nexus prime to be honest
>>11626510The torso on this guy always felt too small for the limbs, like a reverse SS86. Hook needs to be scaled up wholesale and longhaul needs longer shins and a bigger cab. None of witch I think would break the individual figures engineering or aesthetics.

>>11627235Solus may be good for a fembot but she still sucks. Toys being better than her isn't a high bar.
>>11627243I'd say at least four toys (solus, junkion jalopy, animated wreck-gar and heatwave) being unquestionably worse than the aerialbots means the aerialbots aren't in the 'worst figures of aotp' category
Has anyone tried removing this little connecting bar on aotp Cybertron Sideways? Seems like it's getting in the way of his shield plugging in all they way in alt mode.
The better frame combiner
I finally completed Devastator and love it. I also got Vortex. Looking online at his transformation for Bruticus, will they not combine like Devy? Is it going to be more like the car combiner? I really prefer when the team combines together over the bots just getting slapped on, if that makes sense.
>>11627312Vortex and Brawl will separate and connect to an arm frame, but brawl and swindle will form more of the leg. It's still a semi-frame system but it lets the individual bots shine
>>11627301make sure you have his fists towards the top so he's fingering his shield.
>>11627313Thanks, anon.
>>11627318post robot feet next time
>>11627317Yeah they are. If you look at the way everything sits in alt mode that bar sits higher than the arms. If you apply pressure to the end of the shield closest to the front of the alt mode the bar acts like a fulcrum the shield pops loose.
>>11627207Nexus could also be something like Armada Perceptor or that Minicon Thrilling 30 combiner, made up of three core class (or slightly bigger than core class) members.
>>11627331to be honest I think that Nexus being anything less than a five bot combiner would be a disservice
Anyone expecting Nexus to be an actual combiner with component robot modes us just setting themselves up for disappointment. He's most likely just going to be a faux weaponizer like Almagamous.
This is the most Transformers-like or Brave-like that Sentai can be.
>>11627306God, plex needs to be put out of it's misery.
>>11627361What is plex?
>>11627327Will do..... if I find robot stocking feet......
>>11627361PLEX is a design company that are responasible for the designs and materials of almost every Kamen Rider and Super Sentai (and to an extent Power Rangers) designs from the heroes themselves to the Mechas. If you're wondering why the Power Ranger Cosmic Fury suit designs look so shit it's because PLEX wasn't involved in its creation.
>>11627372Thanks for the information.I don't get why Cosmic Fury don't want to borrow the Kyuranger suit.It was like during Mighty Morphin, they use Zyuranger for the heroes but the mecha are from Dairanger, which doesn't really match the motifs.
>>11627377I mean this actually looks really cool, but the Kyuranger suits are even better. what a bizarre time to do your own thing. this one had a ROBOT guy!i was actually amazed at how well dairanger, and then especially kakuranger, managed to fit kludged into the zyurangers.. It helped that they took Kibaranger and added him to the group, so they now worked for kakuranger's deal.
>>11627377>everyone has silver aegides, belts, and facial grilles, with gold trim on the forearms, shins, chest, and belt>the gold guy just has gold everything except most, but not all, the silver parts.dumb. the whole fun with palette swaps is you move shit around.
>>11627380I agree with you.It is so sad that Gozyuger will be the last sentai, probably means the end of power rangers too. I don't have faith on power rangers be able to design a good mecha on their own. Power rangers can only survive by keep rehashing Mighty Morphin.
>>11627359I've still got that green guy, damn.
>>11627301Let us know how it works out.You will cut it, yes? Since nobody else has tried yet.
>>11627384Where are the rest?I'll be waiting for a SMP release of this.
>>11627301You shouldn't, a way to make the shield plugged all the way in is to rotate the hands so that the clenched fingers faces upwards.
>>11626321>>11626375Even I don't know. These Disk Animal rip-offs got even used for Transformers Go! because they serve as analogs to the Legendiscs. Heck, try comparing one of these disc Deployers to Micronus and see if one could consider him as the Green Legendisc.
>>11627064Stuntichads keep ruling the road
>>11627383it's amazing that it happened at all. I can't believe they were able to milk it for decades like that.everything is crumbling, everything will be gone soon. This isn't so sad.
>>11627387Lost to frequent moves and toy purges, I'm afraid.
>>11627383Hasbro or whoever owns Power Rangers at the time will never be able to design a good mecha on their own because they will never get the basic fundamentals of a Super Sentai mech. PLEX and Bandai work hand to hand designing the mechs, with Bandai helping the design to ensure it works in toy form and functions with the gimmicks that they have in mind for the toyline and PLEX ensuring that the robot design can be translated into a suit and allow the suit actor full range of movement as best as possible. Just like how Hasbro thought using fabric and muscle padding for the Cosmic Fury suits would be a good idea when in the end they look like cheap cosplay outfits you'd see used in stage show theatres or how they completely missed the point of Changers being a device that produces sounds and you buy collectibles that when inserted causes the Changers to make different sounds based on the item inserted, a plug and play experience that Hasbro doesn't seem to care and instead make a changer that does various callouts and fighting sound effects.I'm getting off topic so I'll stop there.
>>11627421hell, even sentai whiffs it pretty often in the 21st century. the old aesthetics have diluted.

>>11627108>>11627147This isn't triggerhappy shoulders. That's when the hinge is located coser to the body before the rotation joint. People don't like it because it limits the arm from moving outwards when you rotate it forwards.

>>11627537You'll notice he said Power Rangers and not Super Sentai
>>11627537I didn't say sentai, I said power rangers.
>>11627553I said that because I noticed many American pop brands have fans only prefer the first entry of the franchise, they demand not to evolve and change. Not the brand itself refuse to change.I think Saban's Power Rangers in the late 2000's are quite good.

Man, fixing these Haslab Primes is frustrating. Most of the ones hasbro sent are either too tight or loose as hell. The one I got also had the bonus of having the upper spine ratchet be stiff as hell, and I accidentally over corrected and now that's a friction joint. Had to do all the fixes for the ones my friends got too, and I feel like I'm going crazy. This is all the shit you normally have to fix on this trash fire:-T-Bar on the spine. If hasbro did their job right, you'll still need to fix the nub on the back by either cutting it off, or shaving it down a good amount -Vertical ratchets in the pelvis need the springs replaced since they're way too strong and could break the ratchets. Even if you're ok with them, you still need to open the pelvis since some copies have the ratchet out of the socket due to poor installation at the factory and will break instantly once you move it. Good fucking luck getting the right springs and getting thr pelvis closed after is a nightmare.-The brace needs some molding as well. While the brace itself isn't an issue, removing after can damage the abdomen due to how tight it ends up, so shave both sides a bit until it can be transformed without issue.-Last issue is the ratchet at the upper section of the spine, if it's too tight, you'll end up putting too much force on the abdomen. Most copies are fine, but that's still something to look out for.Meanwhile, all copies of Magnus need the wing connectors molded because all copies are either really tight or nearly impossible to transform without breaking it. There's a few other things, but people really shouldn't go through this shit for a toy.
Just realized that SG Prime and Megatron in their upgrade forms are mirrored color of each other.Optimus Prime (Purple) -> Nova Prime (White)Megatron (White) -> Galvatron (Purple)

>>11628251anon you can't put AI in a commercial producta retelling of MMPR would be bad because it was 1000% of its era and unrepeatable. I'm willing to believe hasbro would be stupid enough to do THAT much, but>transformers x power rangersthat's how my mom described my old megazords. >>11627099who cares? It looks like shit
>>11627637Dude almost every Gundam has a Char clone (Wing's was the most blatant, since it speed ran Char's 0079 to CCA arc). And I don't really get this 'Transformers is creatively bankrupt but Gundam isn't ' nonsense when the most recent Gundam series was someone's '0079 but Zeon won' fanfic.Even for every AU Gundam that's original (G, IBO, Turn A) there's one that's a variation of the OYW-style 'rebel space colonies versus a corrupt Earth government conflict' (Wing, X, SEED, AGE).
>>11628339It looks cooler to me than thighceps.
>>11628342NTA but comparing Sunbow G1 to Gundam 0079 is like comparing a seafood stick to a superbly cooked lobster dinner. G1 was a toy commercial pretending very poorly to be a war story, Gundam was a war story pretending to be a toy commercial.
>>11628361And unlike Transformers, Gundam at least provides some love to its previous shows equally. SEED Destiny, one of the more mixed or polarizing anime depending on who you ask gets some updates while Transformers have completely neglected Energon, with only Core Class Megatron being the only thing we got and not a word from it again ever since.

>>11628368I like that Gundam can experimental with stuffs like the SD Gundam and Build Fighters.
>>11628403I don't if that would work, but imagine having Construct Bots 2.0 and a cartoon/anime alongside it.Taking inspiration of Build Fighters but in Transformers. You have bunch of characters building their own custom bots and go into battle and tournaments. That would be cool idea nonetheless.
>>11628368Energon (or more accurately Superlink) is one of the most unfairly hated TF incarnations ever. The animation wasn't great (except when it was) and the dub was a complete trainwreck but from what I've seen of the original version it seems like a very "it's OK" series with some cool ideas, which is pretty much the standard for Transformers shows. Also the robot designs and some of the toys rocked.I swear the Wiki has done so much damage to this fandom.
>>11628371If the frame combiner doesn't limit it's fun factor, such as the deluxe sized bots can plug into any of the limbs, also cross compatible with other frames (menasor, superion, bruticus, and future release), that would be really cool.
>>11628407Superlink toys are very fun. It's unfortunate the destrons don't get the superlink ability.
>>11628411Being able to actually pose the combiner freely withour arms sagging or the whole thing wanting to topple over is more fun to me than swapping, I consider it a good trade-off.
>>11628371>he's so mad about frames but doesn't even know how they operateThe way the arms crack in half is so satisfying to do
I don't care about cartoon accuracy, I'm not geewunner. If the smaller members combine as accessory to the larger robot, I want it to be able to swap places like Boonboom Car attaching on Boonboomger Robo.See:>>11627306>>11628419I like this version of the cars not having to split apart and act as shoulder armor.
>>11628419Give it a few more days and he'll probably be so mindbroken he'll just call any toy that can't swap its limbs around frameslop.>ugh you can't make Optimus Prime's legs his arms, he's totally frameslop
>>11628431That version would be so much cooler if Dragstrip and Dead End had, like, one panel flip over to look more like samurai armor
>>11628431NGL I'd love a Menasor that has the feet turn into motorcycle drones, so he has rollerblades in combined mode.
Hello Carbot is criminally underrated
>>11628456I know Metal Cardbot has made its popularity to the west, but if you like combiners, you have to check out Hello Carbot.
>>11628431>I don't care about cartoon accuracyFunny thing, he once wore the cars like that on the cartoon.
>>11628431> I'm not geewunner.>shows stylised g1 characterAnon, I…
>>11628513NTA but it's possible to like G1 and not be a geewunner, you just have to still like other things. Similar to how you can like G1 or even be a geewunner and not be a tooner, just by accepting there is more to Transformers than the Sunbow cartoon.
>>11628522Is that what tooner means today?
>>11628386The fuck are these things?
>>11628513I love combiners. I use this term not exclusively only to Transformers, I also love other franchises with combining robots.
>>11628513That hardly matters if it’s completely redesigned. I thought the reason gewunners get shit is their slavish dedication to the show designs.
>>11628522Severe autism
>>11628555I don't know who invented tooner. Basically tooner have the same meaning as geewunner.
>>11628412I believe that is the point, that the Autobots are all about unity and teamwork (with that Till All Are One motto though I don't think it was ever uttered in the anime) so they get the Superlink gimmick while the Decepticons are all about personal glory and power so every one of them got a Hyper Mode which gave them extra weaponry.
>>11628536tooner is some memeshit an attention whore keeps trying to push
>>11628595it means the same as gewunner and its fine by me to stay. no amount of shitting on the people that turned the third party scene from a celebration of clever toy design to a fidgety panel flipping jerk fest for mediocre designs is too harsh.

>>11628022Yeah man. They've got a lot going on. For instance Scorponok's tail becomes a speeder bike that the smaller figures can ride (and you can add the saw blade if you so wish). Likewise with Grimlock's Dino head (only know this cos of the cartoon lol).

>>11628954*Hello Carbot
One of my biggest problems with Superion is how he lacks 5mm ports. Ignoring the hand holes, You get ONE port for each limb + underfoot ports that have basically no use. Silverbolt doesn't even fucking have back ports to store his weapon, you have to use a tab. This also directly affects the 'base' mode since it means you only have like four ports to put guns/turrets/whatever on.The individual bots only have two ports available for their own guns too, and these are very shallow ports so the guns will pop off. (although if you use the shin hinge to 'open' the back of the legs you can dump all the loose guns into the leg cavities which is REALLY good for storage) You kinda have to store away the leg bot guns or else superion can't stand up fully straight because air raid and skydive's blasters will clash and force you to do an A-poseAlso, no 5mm ports or tabs or whatever on the torso plate sucks
>>11628954I absolutely love Brave/Yuusha. I owned some SMPs, I still wonder should I take The GATTAI pill or Toyrise pill.

Got a cheap SS Bumblebee movie Wheeljack from a preowned collector store today for £13. Aside from the horrendously floppy balljoints in the hips, which are annoying but an easy fix, he's pretty cool! Transformation is a bit dependent on clearances being just so, but the robot mode is fun and the vehicle mode is really cool- feels like a Cybertronian car mode done right.

>>11629496"Hasbro Laws"
>>11629158This. Also want a G2 Tank Megatron that's actually like the original toy and not a lazy repaint of a G1 style tank Megs in G2 colors. The annoying thing is that there are some molds lying around that could be easy retooled into some modern G2 remakes. Maverick would make a good Cyberjet (his transformation scheme is basically an updated Cyberjet transformation) and the recent Hot Wheels crossover guys could be retooled into Laser Rods.
>>11629589Is SS86 Shockwave gonna be a new mold like SS86 Soundwave? Or just a reissue of Siege Shockwave?

>>11629851eh.. i don't need to make sense of Starlingscream, but I do need to make sense of an ox with his own cart that cannot separate from it
>>11629819In the Marvel comics, I think, they were created in prehistoric times to stop Shockwave who had landed on Earth and was making his way towards the crashed Ark.
>>11629864It is like a trailer for a truck.
>>11629873interesting, so they were more inspired by local fauna, rather than actually intended to emulate them in any way>>11629878yeah but the trailer comes off. it's pretty rare for a truckformer with a trailer to transform-in-place without any separation (I guess Menasor)
>>11629873More accurately they were existing warriors who were given alt modes based on dinosaurs from the Savage Land (since the TF miniseries was in continuity with the Marvel universe). The rest is true.

>>11629924i was makin a jokey joke joke, anon.
>>11629855Why not both? Also, Reverse Convoy.
>>11629806I don't think any of the 86 line are repackages of previous releases
>>11629968There was SS86 Starscream who was a minor remold of Earthrise Starscream.
>>11629850What's wrong with Voyager Cyberjets?>>11629855Wasn't G2 Hero Megatron just a smaller, more poseable version of Green Tank Megatron?
>>11629997That is real-world scale based. No good.
>>11629997>Wasn't G2 Hero Megatron just a smaller, more poseable version of Green Tank Megatron?Yeah, but he ruled. It said so right on his chassis, so it must have been true. Also, he had a different cannon - his was an air-pump kind of thingy like what was used on Hero Prime's missiles and Laser Prime's disc launcher.
>>11629994Lol I completely forgot about that trash.
>>11629994>remoldNo, he was a retool - he just got a new pair of hands. His actual mold was untouched from the Earthrise one.
>>11629924It's a falcon, not a crow. Check the Hasbro Pulse info. Don't expect them to be that well versed in Japanese mythology.>>11629864>I do need to make sense of an ox with his own cart that cannot separate from itThe reason, once again, is because it's a fun design. You try way to hard to make sense of a novelty item. It's not even a new concept, Ushi Origami from Shinkenger is the exact same thing.
TFO Orion and Devastation Bumblebee are new molds. From this limited teaser, Orion looks a lot better than the TFO Optimus from a couple years ago.
>>11629185>Emgo is an autist spergLiterally who I this thread let alone transformers YouTube ISNT autistic?
>>11629442>Aut Obot>>11629163>>11629158G2 colors were so fucking cool. I just want the Cyberjets and Dreadwing and Starscream. One of my favourite toys growing up was this guy.
>>11629025Are you new?
>>11630174I'd they ever make a new version of Dreadwing and Smokescreen they should get repainted into action master Thundercracker. But just a new Dreadwing is my biggest Transformer wish right now
>>11630143Hasbro also said a toy of a guy named Liger Jack was a lion.
>>11630174I'm old enough to know that G2 was a laughing stock that killed the brand until we hit the ultra budget age of CW-present and now Hasbro treats them like it's some beloved successor to G1.
>>11630178Sure, but in this case they even specify it's a falcon because "falconry was a favoured pastime of samurai lords", so they truly intended it to be one. I guess they thought a raven wasn't as cool, or they just started by giving Starscream a falcon mode and came up with the tengu motif from there.Nothing stops you from thinking of yours as a raven, though.
>>11629997>What's wrong with Voyager Cyberjets?I have to agree with him. Cyberjets should be no bigger than a deluxe. I’d even say core class size except that they’d be the same size as the originals, with probably the exact same ball-jointed articulation, only without the light-piping, so what’s the point.
>>11629968>>11629994>>11630039Galvatron and Blaster too. Galvatron is a matter of whether you preferred him to be purple or blurple but Blaster’s deco was a massive improvement over Kingdom.Oh, and Buzzworthy Cliffjumper.
>>11630153>Orion looks a lot better than the TFO Optimus from a couple years ago. You’re assuming this isn’t just a head and chest only retool of said Optimus
>>11630186>I'm old enough to know that G2 was a laughing stock that killed the brand until we hit the ultra budget age of CW-presentMore like you're old enough to have dementia.
>>11629441>>11629833Again, that archive destroyed or not has absolutely nothing to do with reissues.
>>11629890>from the Savage LandOh right. Didn't they have to retcon this shit out though, once they changed their mind about Transformers being in the Marvel universe?
>>11630205Still burns my ass they didn't give Ramhorn the other megaphone so Blaster could have both like he's supposed to.
>>11630186AM Thundercracker wasn't G2. He was European.
>>11630205Maybe because the clear window was replaced with opaque plastic. And Eject is still gangmolded with the chest window.>>11629965I swear, tech from Megatronus would be useful in making Reverse Convoy. No way they can remold a Wave 1 toy for AOTP, but for technical ideas and techniques, it is still fair game.By the way, some stores in Singapore got their hands on AOTP Deluxes, and managed to get out a video for Quintus Prime, the ninth out of Thirteen Primes who got reviews for the finalized toys. Amalgamous Prime should come out any time now because of course Thanksgiving is close.Recapping on the next two waves, we're getting Liege Maximo and Nexus Prime on wave 5, and then Vector Prime's package refresh (which should just be a tampo on his Cyber Key) on the final wave. Real weird they release Vector Prime both first and last (first as in during Legacy United, and last on the literal last wave of AOTP).
>>11630255This is why you fact check!
>>11630208Everyone is saying it’s a new mold. We’ll see when Orion is fully revealed but you can already tell that at least the head, shoulders, the entire chest/torso, and waist are brand new.
>>11630263>Vector Prime both first and lastHe have space/time travel ability, he move between past and future.
>>11630186Okay retard
>>11630186You are a fucking retard if you think the brand was "dead" until Combiner Wars. Did you forget a little thing called Beast Wars, retard?
I'm probably in the minority here, but I really wish for the return of candy toys for Transformers.Like Minipla started as a cheaper alternative but gradually became a high-quality, fully articulated model kit line.
>>11630153What class is the Orion gonna be? Feel like half the budget is gonna be put into two big mining saws and a jetpack.
>>11630319Pretty sure that anon doesn't mean that CW revived the brand. He is saying that ever since CW, G2 has been popping up more frequently.
>>11630176>new version of Dreadwing and Smokescreen they should get repainted into action master ThundercrackerEven better they make dreadwing able to form a mech suit to combine with smokescreen.
>>11630344we got Dreadwing at home
>>11630360And what of good Smokescreen?
>>11630186It is true that during G2, Transformers were in decline, but the toys aren't the deal-breaker, infact many good toys came from that era. People simply lost interest, and there were no supporting media for G2. Luckily, Beast Wars came along. Otherwise, Transformers would have faded into obscurity.
>>11630259I fell for Hasbro’s tricks and bought a second Steeljaw for the speaker. I’m so fucking weak.
>>11630364Transformers only ever peaked during Michael Bay's era. Like it or not, that's the truth. I don’t hate him like this collective fandom always does. In fact, I appreciate it for the sake of being different, as it brings unique flavors to the robot designs.
>>11630374>Transformers only ever peaked during Michael Bay's era.Do bayniggers really? its true bayformers made the IP a multimedia cashcow in the modern times but it never reached the insane sucess the G1 and beast wars era had
>>11630386Ignore him, he's either retarded or pretending to be retarded for a laugh.
>>11630386G1 was never as prominent as Star Wars. It is a one-trick pony, better aligned with Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, more in that category. While Beast Wars was never particularly popular, it successfully revived the brand by distinguishing itself from G1. In contrast, Michael Bay’s adaptations transformed Transformers into a major phenomenon.I am not taking sides, I am simply stating facts. Take a look at any recent media that attempts to appeal to G1, most have failed. G1 is a product of its time, and I understand fans may cling to their childhood memories, I am not here to judge.Consider the Skybound comic as an example. At first glance, its cover might suggest a renewed success for G1, but that is misleading. What truly stands out is its approach, it embraces a gritty, violent style. The art does not necessarily have to resonate with G1 to be successful.
(you)
>>11630362Sorry. Not in the budget
>>11630372I almost did this, but couldn't find a second one is stock. They could've, at least, released a Stripes redeco for the second whoofer. I guess we'll see that 2032
>>11630412>Consider the Skybound comic as an example. At first glance, its cover might suggest a renewed success for G1, but that is misleadingSkybound is just another new G1 continuity in all but name.>What truly stands out is its approach, it embraces a gritty, violent style. So what are you saying, that Bay introduced violence and grit to Transformers? Did you really never see the 86 movie or read the Marvel G2 comic? You sure this is the hill you want to die on?>The art does not necessarily have to resonate with G1 to be successful. But the art *does* resonate. Even compared to other neo-G1 continuities like IDW and Dreamwave, they directly channel the original character models (or go full "tooner" as you fags would say).
>>11630420>Did you really never see the 86 movie or read the Marvel G2 comic? As far as I know, humans don’t die violently in it.That’s the appeal and difference of Skybound. They raise the stakes not just for the robots, but for the humans as well.By the way, what is your obsession with G1 that makes you go to such lengths to defend it? Stating facts doesn’t necessarily make us enemies, does it? You don’t need to be a superfan of Michael Bay to recognize that he revitalized the brand. You have to realize that not everyone is slavishly loyal to G1 like you are.
>>11630427humans died in previous comics
>>11630412>G1 was never as prominent as Star Warsmatter of fact is that there is barely if any IP that could be comparable to star wars aside of maybe star trek, even so the longevity of G1 product can not be ignored compared to masters of the universe or TMNT>While beast wars was never particulary popularA single beast wars episode costed nearly half a million dollars which was insanely expensive at the time if it wasnt particulary popular the cartoon wouldnt never get past season 2, The only reason it never got a 4th season was because of hasbro's retardation
>>11630427>As far as I know, humans don’t die violently in it.So you didn't read G2, got it.
>>11630374Some designs are alright. But mostly doesn't translate well into toy form.
>>11630178Ligers in Zoids are just lions, so that doesn't mean much.
I don't like Hasbro's predatory business model. They release the same toy multiple times with different colorations and sometimes minor retools, often made up for nonsensical reasons, because they know their fanbase will eat it up. Additionally, they constantly create updated versions of the same characters to make the old ones obsolete.I wish Mattel or any other company would launch a robot brand that takes off and directly competes with Hasbro.
>>11630466>hates "predatory business models">wants fucking MATTEL to make productsget your shit together
>>11630467It's just a big company I think of right now. To compete with Hasbro, it must be a globally scaled company, am I right?"When two giants clash, they are likely to produce their best products, often accompanied by competitive pricing and innovative features to attract consumers.
>>11630472Lot of assumptions there.
>>11630464The japanese love the world liger, I can think of several anime were they use it when they could have just gone with lion.
>>11630427Anon, Skybound is just G1 but edgy. EdG1 if you will. That's the whole appeal. If it was really trying to channel Bay the transformers would barely be characters and most of the time would be wasted on retarded humans
>>11630485>edG1
>>11630485>If it was really trying to channel Bay the transformers would barely be charactersThat applies to G1 too, to be fair.
>>11630485I thought this fandom collectively love Skybound. I kept seeing all the praises. Even hardcore G1 fans loves it.
>>11630502DJW, despite being a brain-rotted lib, wrote a good saga. Kirkman is already sending it straight into a death dive.
>>11630502I can't help but notice that Skybound's Transformers have some of the worst looking cover art, it is not comparable to Dreamwave's or IDW's.
>>11630186Reminder that we had Beast Machines and Last Knight revisionism just this month.
>>11630502It had a pretty strong start, but I feel that the quality really declined around when Megatron showed up and we got all that cross-over shit. I wish it was written as a miniseries so we could have had a more satisfying narrative structure without the need to bait the readers to continue investing into a serialised format. Megatron should have remained missing/dead, Prime should have died or at least lost the matrix, Magnus should not have returned or at least not recovered as much as he has, the cybertronian resistence plot could be trimmed, characters could be merged and more narrative focus given to a smaller cast, remove the Starscream asspull or at least execute it better.
>>11630512What that TLK was the most fun I've seen Anthony Hopkins have on camera in over two decades and that alone makes it the second best movie behind how schizo AoE was?
New TF series that’s just continues between G1 season 2 and the movie. No edgy crap. Just Megatron coming up with some Autobot destroying device and Starscream saying “This plan of your won’t work.”
>>11630545That sounds awful, let's not do that.
>>11630545Tranformers Devastation, its a shame we will never get a sequel
>>11629711Does that Shockwave have a mount for Ravage or is that custom?
>>11630570>WfC>FoC>DevastationWhy'd they stop making GOOD transformer games? Wasn't the last thing they tried some phone app garbage?
>>11630571Ravage is just on top of Soundwave's door
>>11630545I think Hasbro directly said they kill any proposals for stories set between Season 2 and the movie in an interview once.
>>11630573They tried that three times I think. They also tried to make a 3rd person moba hero shooter during the end of Prime that never went anywhere.
>>11630374People don't wanna hear it but you are right and without Bay in 2007 we would be relegated to the toy ghettos of the brands which barely persisted theough the 90s.
>>11630573Good products cost money, DotM's successful simplification emboldened Hasbro to cut costs every year since, it's why we're getting $45 voyagers that are lighter and smaller than $13 deluxes from 2006. Dark Spark and Reactivate was the attempt to do the same with games but gaming doesn't scale down the same way without complications. It's either 2D Indie shit or mobile and Hasbro doesn't want to take the risk of hiring Indie developers in the same way companies like Sega do.
>>11630573>Hasbro>good decisionsPick one
>>11630143well that's exactly my point. it feels like a sentai concept, very Super Robot. doesn't fit here.
>>11630612Really dude, how new are you? Transformers in Japan are super robot as fuck. Samurai Optimus is clearly Japan inspired. It makes perfect sense. And again, you're really overanalyzing the shit out of a silly novelty toy. Not everything needs to conform to what you think it's normal. Have some imagination and sense of wonder. It's a fun concept and that's it.
>>11630638they often are, yes. and i don't like those as muchthis doesn't feel like it's trying to be that
Earthspark Liege Maximo apparently
>>11630710>Ultron
>>11630728Not the first two comparisons I would make.
>>11630731Ok
>>11630710Didn't Earthspark end a while ago?
>>11630734The big impressions are the giant horns and the cape. Also why use the movie Ultron that has a face very different from normal Ultrons?
>>11630735The future projects thing from a while ago had Earthspark and Cyberworld overlapping. It is about as expected.
