>Does Monsterarts Iris really not have the arm swords?
Nope. It's got the alternate wings and a huge display stand, but no sword arms, unfortunately.
>>11627150
If you don't mind waiting another year I'd advise waiting for the inevitable 2.0 of the Hiya Burning that will come with a beam and steam effects. But if you don't want to wait that long, the SHMA that came out recently is really good. The gold paint really makes the translucent orange pop. I wish they'd done something similar with Gamera's shining finger.

I did, but more interestingly i saw the in-construction new similarly sized 1954 godzilla in Haneda airport. I didn't even think i would get to see it at all because they announced this thing like the day before i left so i assumed it would be months or years before it actually showed up. ~Honorable nihonjin work ethic~ i guess. Don't want to dig through a mountain of pics rn for the better ones but if you look at this you can actually see the blocks of Godzilla parts to his left that they're making him out of, pretty cool.

Whats yalls favorite goji design?
I personally love the 2000 Design the most, the giant purple spines and more reptile like look, as well as being the first godzilla I actually remember seeing does a lot for me.
The peanut head of the vs mechagodzilla design loses its charm a bit.
>>
>>11628840
Apparently this Godzilla head was designed to be in scale to his in-universe self from 1954. Now only if some company made a entire body mold for this.
>>
>>11629877
2000 is one my favorites as well. Other than that, GMK, Mosu and Burning are my other favorites.
>>
>>11629877
Kingoji and 84goji, who both share an air-headed vibe now that I think about it.
>>
>>11629877
I guess my overall favourite is BiyoGoji/GhidoGoji, that's a basic answer but that's just his default look for me mentally but I also like KingGoji for being the most dinosaur like.
ShinGoji is cool too.
>>
>>11628772
Think this here is think the crystal Godzilla 2k which came out think during Godzilla vs Megaguirus. There was this and think the Pearl version which had a tag attached which not sure what the history of both of them are besides being some kind of event that took place then. I'm surprised you didn't see if Osaka Mandarake had the stupid rare Green and the I think 5 of a kind Red version of Godzilla 2K to see if they were on display or some shit.

The SHMA being based on the old and beaten up Ghidorah suit really isn't doing it any favour, I hope they do a earlier apperance in the future but I won't hold my breath.
>>
>>11635223
i'd probably go with the hiya just knowing it has bendy wings that I don't have to be deathly afraid of snapping off every time i touch it
but i do prefer the goofy heads of the SH
>>
>>11635223
Has anyone ever taken any side-by-side pictures of the SHMA Ghidorah '72 and that bootleg "SHMA" Ghidorah '64 from a few years back? I wonder how similar, aside from the heads.
>>
Anyone know if any of the hiya toys evolved godzilla use transparent plastic for the spines?
>>
>>11635887
I'd check Shin Robjira's videos on them. He usually showcases that.
>>
>>11635223
He looks good but, not $300 good and no gravity beams. How on earth did Hiya achieve that size and cost so much less.
>>
>>11635223
I like the shma head sculpt more than hiya’s but the gold looks kinda dull and the scale texturing looks more like chicken bumps than actual scales.
>>
>>11636180
>How on earth did Hiya achieve that size and cost so much less.

Because they aren't price gouging, yet.
>>
>>11635364
God, Minus One's design is fucking awful. Its Godzillasaurus form looks like a bootleg Zilla. And I don't mean just these figures, either, I'm talking in general. There hasn't been a good new Godzilla design since the millennium era (not counting Final Wars, that one sucks, too).
>>
>>11636180
Because they use cheap rubberized plastic and have enormous government subsidies like most Chinese companies and even they can't sustain it because. Mechaking Ghidorah is a fair bit more expensive both in China and Japan so it's not even just a tarriff thing.

>price gouging

I wasnt hating on Hiya, retard
>>
>>11640606
You clearly are but if you werent that would be even worse, sucking bandai dick for no reason at all.
>>
>>11640707
No you troglodytic mouth breather, i wasnt. Hiya uses a cheaper rubberized plasic in their figures, similar to what Neca used to use in most of their Godzilla figures and what plenty of companies use. Stating this is not hating on Hiya it is observing a fact. Stating that Hiya was able to keep prices far lower than that should have because they, like 85% of other Chinese companies, recieved generous government subsidies is also not hating on them and neither is pointing out that they are no longer able to maintain that artificially low price point. Not even counting tarriffs, the Hiya Shimo went from having a $60 SRP to an $80 one with the additional tarriff costs pricing it up to $95.
Bandai uses a more expensive plastic, has more articulation, doesnt recieves subsidies from China or Vietnam for production in their factories, and outside of Godzilla himself does much more limited run sizes. Each of these escalates the price. The only thing that you could reasonably say is that their practice of doing a 100 yen to 1 usd increases the cost to the non-japanese market significantly, but that's still mostly cost of shipping and tarriff duties.

Ghidorah is overpriced because like all the webshop exclusives it had a tiny production run and economy of scale means each individual figure needs to bare more of the cost.
You sound like you are either a literal child or one of the many annoying Latinx on instagram and twitter
>>
>>11636180
I mean look at hiyas, color is duller, texture looks more toy-like, and way less detail. But SH is also just being a bunch of greedy fucks. Like those fucking eye balls should bring the price down -200 burgers. Sometimes hiya toys reflect their price, sometimes they don't. Like their gojis look like upscaled playmates compared to SH's. But their shimo and MV king ghidorah completely btfos SH's and are half the cost.

So apparently MMS is indeed making a new Spacegodzilla 2.0 mold which was shown today in Japan at some comic con. Its in early development with the mold being supervised by Shinichi Wakasa much like 2.0 Godzilla 2k was. It's likely to be finalized and released sometime next year around this time. It is unknown whether this will be a G-Store or P-Bandai or a wide release figure.
>>
>>11643250
There is also a rumor floating about in the japan comic con over there that Spacegodzilla is likely to also be the second figure announced for the giga line as well.
>>
Just scored me a MMS Godzilla the ride Godzilla with tag for 35 dollars today at a toy store near me as well as the OG Shin Godzilla from 2016 for 25 dollars since didn't have that yet. I think the owner mistook the Ride Godzilla for Minus one since just so happened to find it just as he got them out of the box and was pricing them. Ride Godzilla aftermarket right now is around 65-90 dollars atm.
>>
>>11643250
p. bandai 65 dollars you're welcome
>>
Any anon here own any Y-MSF figures by any chance? I ask since saw a Gold Hedorah near me in a bag that reminded me of something like Maursan/Marmit. The Hedorah header card had something that think was called "The Hedorah Fanatics Club By Y-MSF" Are those also in the same category of super expensive and limited?
>>
>>11641246
Sending everything to limited run when you don't have to is price gouging
>>
>>11645155
Every time I've purchased directly from them I have not gotten the classic sofubi baggie and header. I also don't go for the crazy color variants, so I wouldn't know. They do set up tables at conventions.
>>
>>11645204
Yeah not sure if this was the only YSMF that had a baggie and header included. It did look really nice with it being translucent with gold glitter all over with red eyes that are also see through.
>>

I've moved to other forums and places to talk because its been so dead here the past year or so. Even Godzilla day was pretty quiet. I also buy mostly MMS and this place seems more focused on the Monsterarts and Hiya lines.

What recourse does one have when Amazon cancels all your Hiya preorders?
>>
>>11641246
>uses a cheaper rubberized plasic in their figures
>Bandai uses a more expensive plastic

Anon. They both use PVC, ABS and POM like everyone else. "Rubberized plastic" is what happens when you add plasticizers like phthalates to make the plastic softer and more pliable rather than not adding many and having harder plastic or just flat using ABS. That has nothing to do with how expensive the plastic is. In fact harder plastic is more likely to be brittle and lead to breakage, although soft plastic can get stress marks over time if you articulate it irresponsibly. So both have pros and cons.

Plastic is not the main cost of a figure. The steel tools followed by the labor for paint applications are. If your Godzilla:

1. arrives at all
2. doesn't look like it got hit with Homer's make up gun
3. doesn't smell like a skunk
4. you got it for 50 bucks

then you didn't get ripped off, as most of the costs are in the tooling and getting the paint apps done by someone who can do them well.

What the fuck is the changs problem?
I don't think tarrifs can be an excuse because SHMA still is releasing stuff fairly on time why are they taking their sweet ass time?
>>
>>11647361
I visit the Godzilla reddit once in awhile to see news and discussions on DVD and Bluray releases. It is good for finding niche info. about stuff like that. Bluray.com is another good source. Otherwise it seems like a lot of 'hey I got a Godzilla figure', posts pics, and moves on. It is active, but it doesn't seem very engaging based on my experience.
>>11647221
I go to the Toho Kingdom forums to talk about toys regularly. It is suprisingly active, and many people there talk about toys like they enjoy Godzilla toys, like here. It isn't perfect of course but I think people talk about a wider variety of stuff there.
Twitter and Youtube are good for toy news and info., but the conversations there are even less engaging than reddit.
The kaiju general here is decent but its felt especially slow this past year. I'd love to know if there are even more places to talk about Godzilla toys.
