what went wrong?
>>11628425did you pay $60 a piece for these?
>>11628422severely overproduced during covidand the line being cancelled means a lot of people don’t even want them at discount since it feels wildly incomplete; they couldn’t finish a single wave of costumed turtles or even the first 2 waves of the vintage lineI was actually all in on these and once I found out I’d never get hothead or groundchuck I decided I didn’t need any of them anymore
>>11628422Oversaturation. People can and do burn out on stuff..
>>11628508/thread
>>11628508I think the bigger issue is competing with all the other TMNT out their that isn't dead brands. Thundercats and SilverHawks isn't tanking nearly as bad and I think a big reason is their are no other lines to consider. With TMNT you have 5 other lines to consider collecting.
>>11628511I have never seen a line lose so much value so quickly. These were going for 60 bucks new. You literally can't give used figures away because you can buy them new for 20 bucks or less. And these are big beefy packages. After fees and shipping a seller is probably losing 90% or more.
>>11628422idk what went wrongI will be forever thankful for them for making Scratch. It's one of the best top tier figures everPS:Mondo Gecko is awesome too. and they have shit ton of accessories
>>11628620can he even stand? I can tell you are bracing him against the wall with whatever is in his hand and his tail.
>>11628623NTA but he stands pretty good. Articulation kinda shite though, but he looks cool and comes with a bunch of stuff.
>>11628632maybe i will pick him up. if i can find him for under 20 bucks might have to pull the trigger.
>>11628623>can he even stand? I can tell you are bracing him against the wall with whatever is in his hand and his tail.>>11628632He both stands pretty well and super articulated.Idk what is this retarded thread. may be TMTN fags are that autistic (im not from a tmnt community i just like cool toys but im sure tmntfags are outright autistic)
>>11628636don't do thatyou don't deserve him. go get your shitty 99999th Raphael recolor instead
>>11628422Super7 not showing up to designercon should tell everything about how they will be following their former business partner funko into bankruptcy.
>>11628650>you don't deserve him.any kid with a twenty dollar bill deserves him, apparently
They're like statues with fake articulation points
>>11628731a statue can stay upright though..
>>11628649You seem to have problems.
>>11628759seems to be very sensitive about toys. perhaps the autistic comment was projection?
>>11628759>>11628761>>11628746>>11628731weird seethingi guess i was right about TMNT fags being autists
>>11628767
>>11628636>if I can find him under $20>might>its $22You literally dont even buy toys. Why are you here all day every day?
>>11628780it's mostly psychological. obviously. super 7 makes dogshit. for the most part. a few figures are pretty good but even they are just...underwhelming. it is all flash. at 22 bucks it isn't an insant grab. not for me. if i saw it under 20 dollars it would be much easier to pull the trigger. not nearly as much friction. and i hardly ever come around here anymore. in part due to low IQ spergs such as yourself.
>>11628746Everything I have from Super 7 has loose hip joints. The figures like great but idk how they didn't relook at how they do the hips.
>>11628882yup it was rather devastating with rocksteady.
Their figures kept being released missing paint apps (GI Joe faces) or having the wrong paint apps (Thundercats wave 1). On top of them constantly raising their prices and the fact these things are brittle as fuck, it spelled doom for the company. They could have made it right if they listened to the complaints, but they refused to fix the GI Joe faces and they downplay the complaints about the lack of articulation. They torched their goodwill and threw gasoline on it for good effect. It's not surprising that even their decent figures go for almost nothing.
I've bought a few figures from Super 7, whatever was on sale or cheap enough. One Cobra B.A.T had a warped backpack strap that broke immediately. The Troma Trooper can't hold the shield and trying to use most of it's accessories is a nightmare. The cobra decals began to immediately wear off the B.A.T's when I began moving the arms. I don't really regret it because I bought B.A.T's more as a robot fan then a Gi Joe fan but they [robably weren't worth what I paid for them, even on sale, the figures have some issues. Everything else i've bought from them has given me zero grief so far and I'm actually looking forward to the expansion of their The Worst line.
>>11628882>>11628883>>11629493>>11629568What a dogshit company.
>>11629568>I've bought a few figures from Super 7, whatever was on sale or cheap enough. That is another thing I don't get with Super7: Why are they priced so expensive? I wanted quite a few of their Reaction figures before but at $15 I couldn't justify that. When they finally went on clearance to $7 or $10 I reluctantly got them. Also wish they made more Roger Rabbit figures.
>>11628422For toys, you can either be cheap and shitty, or expensive and good and likely find success. Super 7 is expensive and shitty. They do a lot of things right, which added to their costs, like coming up with really cool packaging and having all sorts of artists contribute. This makes stuff more expensive though, and refusing to make reusable packaging in the hopes that people would buy one to open and one to keep on the shelf was a scumbag move. Then, if you did open it, the toys had all sorts of QC errors and weird decisions. Why limit their reaction figures to 5 points? They occasionally made a figure that broke this mold, like the reaction Gijoe Bat, and it's fucking awesome. If they had given all figures even just swivel wrists and waists it would have greatly improved their playability and not effected the look or style at all. Other companies have had great success with updating vintage looks, like the O ring figures Skeletron put out have updated articulation and are literally the best O ring figures ever made. If I'm spending $20 or $25 on a vintage style figure with cool packaging I better be able to A) keep the packaging looking nice and usable B) be able to use the figureC) have the figure play wellIf the figure is REALLY good I might be okay with losing the packaging. 95% of the time when I opened a super7 figure I wish I had kept it in the packaging, which quickly turns into me wishing I never bought it in the first place. Your toy must be solid first. Then the packaging should be cool.
>>11631044no one cares about those shitty reaction figures and you'd have to be mentally challenged to have ever bought them at any price
>>11631279I got a Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver reaction because it seemed so ludicrous for a toy. But by and lage, I agree that they're junk.
https://www.instagram.com/p/DRdB04bDSrK/they are closing their san diego store, likely no sdcc 2026 pop up store
Idk about their other shit, but I liked the TMNT Ultimate stuff. Just bigger better versions of the old 80s toys. Only bummer was you couldn't fill up Mutagen Man with water
>>11634086They're closing both the SD and San Fran store according to TNI. Makes sense and probably should've been done a lot earlier given how high the rent is at such places. I assume they were not making money on those locations and they were some kind of vanity piece or something.
>>11634491They aren't making money period
>>11628768
>>11628508>overproduced>>11628511>>11628528>Oversaturation>competing with all the other TMNT Honestly all of these. The line was hot when it started and the first 2 waves sold out. Then S7 went and did a second run which sold out. Although there was no official announcement from S7, they did a 3rd run for certain and even a rumored 4th run of wave 1 and 2. I know a retailer that said S7 offered him some cases of the 4th run at a severe reduction. The figures are just worthless cause there are too many. I was vested into the line until I saw that the figures were going for less than MSRP as soon as they were released. So at that point I refused to preorder them any more and just wait till the release. A lot of other people did the same thing which killed sales. >>11628528>SilverHawksThat line is just getting by. It barely sells at all. S7 is giving away figures from the first few waves at HUGE discounts to get rid of them. They gambled on the line and overproduced the first few waves thinking the line would pic up steam as it went and they wanted extra stock on hand, unlike TMNT though, it didn't. The core customer base is there to just barely keep the line alive but S7 is only making enough now to fill orders. No extras. I'd be surprised to see another wave after Melodia and Hardware. It's a shame cause I do like them despite the ridiculous prices. .
>>11628528As a fan of Thundercats and Silverhawks I know that this is pretty much all I will ever get. We might see Thundercats stuff like the He-Man crossover that covers the core cast but no one else is going to make characters like the Lunataks, Wizz-Ra, and Willa again. Plus lots of great accessories. AND on top of that they did most of the main Silver Hawks cast, and we're supposed to get a TigerSharks drop soon. Who else is going to do the fucking TigerSharks? For TMNT fans there's a new obscure character released by Neca every other week. Also Playmates really fucked with them when they told them they couldn't recreate the classic toys anymore because that seemed to be the entire appeal of the line.>>11634689In a recent interview Brian said that the new Silverhawks wave outsold the previous and basically secured the line for at least another wave. Its doing well. Though they likely won't do much more after that since they only need one more wave to complete the core cast of villains and heroes.
>>11634708I don't really believe anything Bryan says. He contradicts himself constantly. The previous wave was just repaints so of course it sold less. I'm just hoping to get Poker Face and Yes-man in the nezt wave. I would LOVE a deluxe Mombo Jumbo but I know that won't happen.
>>11634708This is the big niche for companies that produce bad products, just doing something no one else will do. McFarlane is doing the same thing with Fallout figures now
>>11628422There are like 4 or more companies selling tmnt figures, many of which are producing figures of the same shitYou csn get like:Neca -MovieCartoonMirage comicRonin comicArchie comicArcadePlaymatesReissuesUpdated versions of the old figsTlSModern take on old figs. Usually a combination of the playmates toy and cartoon or that bland new designs owned by nick for merch.Couple Nintendo tmnt 2 figsThen you have super7 putting out weird reaction figs of random tmnt and the ultimates of the 80s/90s figs
Why do you think Super7 just didn't do what McFarlane Toys did and just limit production to ridiculously small levels?
>>11640095they're flaming liberals who have anti homophobia, ant racism, DEI inclusion crapped baked into their branding. delusional butt huffers who are as about as deep as a hep C riddled puddle. they just don't live in reality
>>11640095They wanted to expand. Todd seems pretty happy where he is; he knows he’s never going to be hasbro but he has his toys in the kids aisle and still doesn’t have to bend over for shareholders. S7 was hoping to get to that level, and to do that you gotta sell more shit. It just blew up because they make trash and vendors could no longer sell it.
