People will spend $1000 on a model kit, rather than spending $100 to paint a cheap one.I despise lego and gundam fans. The level of fear (for getting out of your comfort zone) in these hobbies is crazy. To gunpla fans: I'm begging you. Buy an airbrush compressor setup. Its cheaper than you think. If you cant buy a fume hood, paint outside. If you use acryllics you can paint inside.Buy some primer and a leo. I'm begging you (on my hands and knees). For lego fans, they literally complain about everything, when the whole point of lego is customization. Do you hate a new set? Ok build your own. Theres even free instructions online on rebrickable and other sites.>oh no power miners is deadJust fucking build your own
>>11628765>I'm begging you. Buy an airbrush compressor setupNah. Air brushing is lame and gay. The entire appeal of gunpla and plamo in general is you get to work with your hands and relax for a bit. Being able to just jump into it right out of the box, only really needing a sprue cutter and MAYBE a sanding stick is a benefit. With a cumbersome airbrush you have to worry about the loud compressor, a dedicated workspace, breathing in all kinds of chemicals, drying time, spending even more money on paints, coats, primers, etc. Sometimes it's just nice to assemble a cool robot and then play around with it. Not everything needs to be an extravagant art project. And if you're feeling THAT faggy then a wash/marker, dry brush and top coat are all you need.>Just fucking build your ownWhy buy gunpla kits? Just build your own gundam out of plastic sheets.People have a limited amount of time. It takes time and practice to make nice Lego builds. The designers themselves get paid a crazy amount for that. Managing a big bricklink order is tedious as shit and comes with all kinds if headaches when you can just buy a box with all the things needed inside to build something which you know for sure you like the look of, has a nice build quality and has been tested. Most people posting instructions on rebrickable haven't even physically built their own stuff and the thing might fall apart or just straight up be physically impossible to follow.Blow it out your ass.
>>11628826/threadGet fucked OP.
>>11628826Don't think he can, the pathway is obstructed with anti-fun.
>>11628765You know you can also paint an expensive model kit rightYour post is literally just "don't buy big expensive models, buy small cheap models"
>>11628765>I'm begging you. Buy an airbrush compressor setup. Its cheaper than you think. If you cant buy a fume hood, paint outside. If you use acryllics you can paint inside. I'm not into Gundam but why the fuck do you care so much about how people paint their models?
>>11628826
>>11628765expensive plastic?Warhammer says"hold my beer"you're paying for "the gameplay" and the Hank Hill lawn mowing mentality: you don't HAVE TO paint it, you GET TO paint it
>>11628765Most people don’t buy PGs to avoid painting and a good amount paint them anyway. The appeal of PGs are the scale, moveable features, and being pretty much the closest thing to building a real gundam.
you only DIY if there is no set yet made of it.
>>11628765I'm planning on getting an air brush. I use tamiya and mr hobby spray paint and primer alongside vallejo and ak for brush painting. I'm not that into gundam though, I pretty much exclusively build maschinen krieger.I'm really confused as to why you seem so desperate for others to buy an air brush. the hobby is what you want it to be, wether it's just snapping together parts or going to town with the model.
>>11628826i paint gunpla because nub marks piss me offi also like my models having more painted detail than just the plastic oob, especially when said plastic either doesn't have all the colours or is just flat out wrong when compared to the reference images no disrespect to people who just want to whip it together and mess around with it, i just find painting half the fun
I've jumping from buyfag threads from /a/, to the Robot Damashi one to finally here, I'm a total newfag regarding figures, so I'll repost:/a/g/ tourist here. Where can i find figures like pic rel? Like they are mechs but not like Gundam or Code Geass ones. More like Titanfall or BLAME kind of robots, military oriented but blocky, idk how to call them. Thanks in advance
