>Kids dont have $650. What were they thinking?
they only need to sell 1,538 sets at $650, to make 1 million dollars. that's only 31 sets per American State. they don't need to be children buying them
Lego cares about the sale, not the customer.

there is a small chance that some crazy rich adult will buy it for their spoiled kid. the type of kid who will get a Porsche on their 16th birthday

they could have make 10 billion dollars easily if they had just made pokemon blind bags starting with the original 150 pokemon as mini builds and having shinies and mew/mewtwo as the rare

Is it surprisingly to anyone else these still haven't leaked? We still don't even know for sure if its the base or second stage starters.

seems like the entire first Pokémon wave is them doing brick built characters to twist the knife in on Megablocks. it'd be cool to eventually get some unique molds on the quality of Zero's from Nightmare Before Christmas for some of the shillmons and some locations or scenes though. Its a blocky universe (until the shit of modern gens anyway).

This, my kid would beg for them all the time.

--it is absolutely possible for Lego to make minifig trainers with minifig-scale Pokemon.
--it is also absolutely possible to put those trainers in Pokecenter, or other various locations from the games and/or anime cartoon, sets.

it is indeed frustrating. we all imagine that is how it will be. Lego must be making so much money with $400+ sets that they are no longer interested in anything else. any "small" set these days, is basically charity. a waste of their time. why make a $30 set that will conclude with X profits, when a $300 set concludes with 10X profits? would you rather make 1 million dollars, or 10 million dollars? you really can't blame Lego for making a $650 set. blame "the public" for buying it.

>the three cutest
Phanpy and Skitty are way cuter.
If you're a strict genwunner, Sandshrew and Ponyta are way cuter.
