So the Last Ronin movie got cancelled >The Last Ronin, another TMNT live-action/CG animation hybrid project that was in development, has been put back in the pizza box, according to sources. That project was being developed as an R-rated feature, and had Nobody filmmaker Ilya Naishuller in talks to direct, but the new regime wasn’t keen on having the first non-animated movie in 10 years be a bloody, adult-skewing story.>Multiple sources say Paramount wants to “Sonic-fy” the TMNT franchise.https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-new-live-action-movie-1236431867/
>>11630526That'd make sense.
>>11630602so on one hand it would have suckedon the other, we're still in the baby ghetto>sonic-ifykill me
>>11630602>Multiple sources say Paramount wants to “Sonic-fy” the TMNT franchiseJESUS TAKE THE FUCKING WHEEL!!
>>11630602Well that sucks. I was looking forward to that. I'm not sure what Sonic-ify means though. Mutant Mayhem was pretty Sonic-ey, kiddified, and nobody cared about it.So I don't know what they want.
>>11630617>I'm not sure what Sonic-ify means though. Mutant Mayhem was pretty Sonic-ey, kiddified, and nobody cared about it.They want a live action Mutant Mayhem with CGI Turts because they don't understand why that worked for Sonic. Studio executives are tarded.
>>11630635why isnt anything being done about it?if i was a stockholder, i'd call for the immediate eradication of all executives who lose me money (all of them)
>>11630602>“Sonic-fy”That only works for Sonic because normalfag parents will take their kids to anything cute and family friendly and because Sonic fans celebrate anything featuring the character as long as it reaches slightly bellow mediocre quality.Trying the Smurfs formula with the turtles is not going to work since the fans are mostly bitter old men who don't clap at every reference and the turtles are hard to make cute enough in live action to not repel the little girl and soccer mom demographics.
>>11629901didn't realize the eyes were swappable, thats really cool, figured only the grinning face had the movie eyes
>>11630720what do you mean? this is the grinning face. and those eyes have never been in any movie, they are what modern CG movies look like.does the tops of the heads come off, to swap?
>>11630766the heads open and the eyes come out
>>11630781Big deal, mine could do that too if you open my head.
>>11630781huh, surprising. but also I see no indication of that
>>11630846It's mentioned on the product page. Also a couple of pic showing the process.
>>11630934ah okay. you replied to OP so it felt like the OP image was somehow proving that, when it wasn't.thank you for this clarification, hry shet pretty cool. i wonder if it'll have that mechanism that keeps the pupils kinda lined upif I was a 1:6 collector, I'd definitely have to give these serious consideration since actual movie-accurate ones are obviously not going to be made.
Last Ronin live action canceled, in it's place a new AI Slop Live Action movie in the works. How should they handle it to make it more toyetic and increase sales? More ninja action less teenage action? New or classic mutants instead of humans 80% of the screen time? i personally want Slash as the big bad in live action instead of Shredder again. Tricertons too.
>>11631121It's kind of crazy that the highest grossing TMNT movie is still the first one from 1990. Why is that?It was live action. It was a bit dark and gritty. It was pretty faithful to the original comics, combining plot points from various stories and culminating with the confrontation with Shredder from the first issue's climax. Here they were, all set to do another comic adaptation that was going to be dark and gritty with an R-rating and they cancel it to start an all encompassing "kid friendly" marketing strategy. It's like they hate money. That being said, a spiritual successor to the 90s movies that focuses on the Utrom, Triceratons, and Fugitron would be cool.
>>11630970turns out splinter is on the list
Did the MM sequel get cancelled too?
>>11631172No, just any unfinished Tales of episodes that were planned.
Think they'll make April black again or have they finally figured out after two times that never fucking works?
>>11631259Three times, remember MTG april is also predominantly black in the card art. You'd think paramount being MAGA, they'd have put an end to that shit.
>>11631391There's also the Naruto crossover.
>>11631433Did that do anything other than some bowls at Walmart?
>>11631132let's be reallast ronin would have been fucking awful>>11631121anon you can't use AI in a copyrighted product. anyone could pirate the movie freely. they hate that.
>>11631259nothin wrong with blapril, you just have to make her feel ~80s black.~ like April played by Lisa Bonet would have worked.they're not doing that now, they're making her today-black, which is about the worst there's ever been.
>>11631391you think paramount, a company so far left it makes disney kinda look traditional, is- I mean you're aware that's not real, right? they're the ones running that because it makes click bucks. today-politics is about as real as "the environment."
>>11631391>paramount being MAGALolwut? The company that gave Matt and Trey a few billy after they seethed about 45 for 4 years is MAGA?I don't my want to derail the thread with political bullshit, but I just need to point out that your assertion is bullshit. Corpos only pretend to care about whatever they think will get them more profits. The same retarded reasoning is why they have scrapped an anticipated movie in favor of Sonic-fying TMNT.
>>11631486>last ronin would have been fucking awfulOh, you read a script?
>>11631438Some backpacks and keychains.
>>11631490>>11631517Boy, you guys need to get from under that rock once in a while.
>>11631603This also makes sense now why ToTTMNT show has been axe and Last Ronin scrapped. Can't have people watch the a ninja turtle taking out an authoritarian regime on the big screen or a black April.
>>11631605Can't wait to see the turtles take on the enemies of Israel. What a disgusting world we live in.
>>11631603>with Larry Ellison, the largest shareholder at ParamountHow is that contrary to what I said about corpos only caring about what will maximise their profits? They don't pander to the WH because they actually believe in his shit. And while they do that, they continue to air South Park which has repeated the same joke about Trump's small penis 200 times this season. Wake the fuck up.
>>11631575there's nothing good about last ronin>>11631603you know the news isn't real, right?
>>11631629>there's nothing good about last roninI see we're taking the contrarian route today.
>>11630602Last Ronin would make a great animated streaming movie. I dont care if it ruins a franchise, but I have no faith in any movie meant for theaters anymore
>>11631631alright fair, nothing i personally have heard about the last ronin appeals to me whatsoever as a lifelong turtlemaniacThat's not the same as an objective judgment
>>11631634also like i was saying, i DO want them to make mature TMNT shit so this could theoretically have opened the door to that. i just wouldn't have watched it.
>>11631631It would have been better than 90% of Turtle media from the last 20 years, but let's face it. TLR is just a pale imitation of Old Man Logan, but with Turtles. But if you get off on derivative "What If?" stories, more power to you.
>>11631655>Old Man Logan, but with TurtlesTHANK YOU. I haven't been able to put my finger on it, but it's that.I'm all for seeing cool dark futures with the Turts. 2K3 gave us a COUPLE of those, and they were rad. But there has to be a happy ending where you avoid that future. and it's one thing for ONE turtle to die, but THREE? fuck that entire noise. it's teenage mutant ninja turtleS, not turtle.
>>11631752It's okay to explore darker themes with the characters. They've been doing that since the beginning. >>11631655TMNT is almost always an imitation of other stories though. It's a parody of it all to begin with. I'm fine with them doing different takes like that.
>>11631259They're going to "sonic"-ify the franchise. She'll be black and she'll be 11 years old.
>>11631888First they made her a child. Then they made her a child and black. Then they made her a child and black and ugly. What's the next step?
>>11631894Child+black+ugly+fat+trans.
>>11631894A musical
>>11631620Larry Ellison's goal is to stifle journalism and media showing the actions of the genocidal terrorist state of Israel. He'll happily forego profits for that aim. Wake up.
>>11630602good, because it was just a dumb gritty Elseworlds type story about old man Log- I mean Leo committing suicide or something.
Man, no one's made toys of the 2007 movie designs?
>>11632009The nostalgia for that is as much as Rise's and the Batman crossover's. Also we just started with 2003...so maybe later
>>11632018I just want a fucking Karai figure, man.>no NECA 2003>No mention of Karai in the 2012 NECA line>Old Woman Karai from Last Ronin>Super7's Karai I can't even identify with a series.
>>11632026yeahh super7's karai is a huge disappointment. she could have been awesome. i would LOVE to see them do 'playmates styled versions of characters we never got' but... they should have STARTED with her 2k3 design since it's the best, and gone from there.
>>11632026>>no NECA 2003>>No mention of Karai in the 2012 NECA lineI mean, it just started.
>>11631917So he's got his own agenda that only partially aligns with MAGA. And his agenda fits with Paramount making April O'Neil black. Thanks for playing.
>>11632210anon why would you reply to that instead of doing something else that rhymes with supporti've been warned for mentioning that, so, code.
>>11632026 >just want a fucking Karai figure, man.>no NECA 2003>No mention of Karai in the 2012 NECA line>Old Woman Karai from Last Ronin>Super7's Karai I can't even identify with a seriesThere's aldo the two Mirage City at War Karai figures you seem to have forgotten.
>>11632254Haven't seen them. What do they look like?
>>11632325Top one has been out for nearly a year. I'm a bit iffy on the headsculpt. The bottom one hasn't come out yet, but hopefully the head is as good in hand as the prototype is.
>>11632325The regular outfit figure should be shipping soon, but this armored version is a really great figure.
>>11632338oh i like that headsculpt, that is 80s as fuck.the bottom one looks very 2k3 but her head seems kinda small. A japanese woman is not that many heads tall..either of these would have been better as the source of the s7 version though
>>11632350>her head seems kinda small. A japanese woman is not that many heads tall..Yeah, I'm not sure if her head is too small or her body is too big, but there's is definitely a proportion issue. Hopefully the head is the same size as Shredder Karai, because I want to swap them. Shredder Karai's head is accurate to the gritty artwork, but it doesn't do it for me.
>>11632369>but there's is definitely a proportion issueThere isn't. She has large shoulderpads on. You're seeing an optical illusion.
>>11632533I thought it was the shoulder pads at first, but when you see the images side by side it's more apparent. If the figures are actually the same height, the head will be too small. If the heads are the same size, she's going to be much taller than the Shredder Karai figure. I'll reserve judgement until she is released.
>"Mutant Mayhem saved the franchise!">"The turtles acting more like ADD-ridden teenagers, hamfisted messages on acceptance and tolerance, and an art style trying to rip-off Spider-Verse makes this the best Ninja Turtles movie ever!>"Also it being ugly is a good thing!">Sequel is bumped to 2027>Show that was supposed to bridge the first and second movies just got canned leaving an entire year with barely any TMNT-related media>Paramount just cancelled the LR movie for another live-action reboot as damage control.I don't know if this is depressing, hilarious, or both.

Did Choate ever come out? I never once saw him in stores.
>>11632783Yes, it did. It did hit stores, too, but sold pretty quickly. It's in stock on Target's website if you want: https://www.target.com/p/neca-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-mirage-comics-7-34-scale-chote-action-figure/-/A-94780179
>>11632789Ugh, there is no way he's worth 50 bucks.
does Choate mean something in Nihongo? is it MEANT to be cho-a-te or is he just chote? I forget his backstory.Cho is 'butterfly', ate is 'assigned', so.. is he essentially the "is this a bird?" meme?
>>11632802He never had a backstory. He's a big lizard man samurai living in Feudal Japan because...he just is.
>>11632794He's a unique sculpt, big figure, has a lot of paint apps. He's pretty worth it.
>>11632803I mean that still qualifies as backstory. is he from Usagi's world?
>>11632818Nope. He just shows up in Feudal Japan with no explanation whatsoever. It ends with Renet sending him to the future (specifically the world of Michael Dooney's Gizmo comics), but he never appears again there either.
>>11632821weiiiiiird. old TMNT was weird.but that does mean he's rather a blank slate, which I'm okay with.
Paramount and Nick should really just release an animated version of TLR for DVD/streaming/whatever.
>>11632802>Cho is 'butterfly', ate is 'assigned', so.. is he essentially the "is this a bird?" meme?Kek
>>11632555She’s tall because that’s her outfit from Tournament Fighters (SNES). I thought she was a dude in the game.
>>11632885>that’s her outfit from Tournament Fighters (SNES).No its not. That or Konami ripped off Mirage.
>>11632885It's being sold as a part of the Mirage line, has her bow and quiver, and it doesn't have the pixel paint. I'm guessing the cleaner, less stylised face compared to the Shredder version is because it is based on this comic cover.
>>11632891Shit, I should have refreshed after I wrote my post but before I hit the post button.
>>11632851thank you, i'm glad that tickled someone. I just pulled out my weeb knowledge and an EXTREMELY SPECIFIC joke happened, that I'll never have a chance to use again.
>>11632803All I know is that the dude who sculpted Choate did some sculpting for Mattel's Extreme Dinosaurs. But yeah, wasn't that like, Choate's only appearance? He's not even referenced in 2012's Turtles, but characters like Belly Bomb are.
>>11632931>But yeah, wasn't that like, Choate's only appearance?Playmates made a toy of him (as "Shoate") but he was green and part of the "Shogun" line (which was just Playmates desperately trying to sell the unwanted TMNT 3 molds again).
>>11633014speak for yourself, I loved those and I bought two of them. Would have gotten the triceraton if I'd seen him.the only goofy one there was the insane shogun shredder figure
Anyone got a comparison pic between the McFarlane IDW ninja turtles figures and the BST AXN ones?
Watching the 2012 series, I'm coming to realize some of these characters would be too fucking huge to make. Kranag Sub-Prime in his Irma Mech, Tokka, Kraang Prime, the Triceratons, Zeno the Triceraton, Armagon, Snakeweed, Creepweed, Turducken Chimera, the Motor Mutant, hell, even Leatherhead are fucking huge.
>>11633074same goes for 2k3. no way they'd make hun, garbageman, triceratons, shredder's big alt future mechs, leatherhead, the two larger crystal-mutants...
>>116330782003 Leatherhead is at least smaller than 2012's. He's like, 7 feet compared to 2012's 10 feet. Don't get me wrong, hope I'm wrong about this. It'd be cool to have a shelf of Leatherheads.>80's>Super7>Playmates>Archie>2003>2012>Rogen Turtles
>>11633085i also like gatorsand I love how TMNT, which started as their parody of ninja-riddled comics, poked a little fun at itself like "reptiles mutating in the new york sewer? that should be GATORS, right?"
Starting to wonder if that 2003 Ultimates wave 2 is going to even release. Everything else is pretty much good as not happening though. Woof.
>>11633796god dammit
>>11633796I knew their hipster shop in SF would be closing when they announced the new CEO. They need to cut pointless expenditures that don't turn a profit to make their investors happy. I bet the rent on those two stores was never covered by sales, let alone all the other expenses for a physical store. And I doubt wave 2 of 2k3 is cancelled. They are probably halfway through tooling the molds and will need to recoup their expenditure on those, and TMNT is one of their only lines that sells relatively well. They've already pissed off some of their customers that got in on the ground floor for lines like Simpsons that felt like the rug was pulled when it was cancelled before they could even release the whole family. Same goes for their Disney line. They need to win back customer faith, and scrapping 2k3 w2 would destroy that.
>>11633845I don't think they're going to win back anything. That's some massive cope thinking they can do anything at this point.
>>11633872honestly china should just release the toys for cheap on aliexpress like they did with those earth worm jim toys, I'd be very happy knowing none of that money would be going to flynn
>>11633872NECA managed to improve their QC when most people had given up on them, so nothing is impossible.
>>11633845the problem is they dont 'cut expenditures that don't turn a profit'all businesses today 'assume bankruptcy is imminent' and 'try to lose money as slowly but consistently as possible, as a joke'

>>11634714anon, look at him. see that line there? his thigh is bent. he's crouching, and look where he is compared to raphael, a figure they wanted 55 dollars for. do you think they're going to make a 100 dollar action figure and expect it to sell?
>>11634725They're sizing him down and keeping him at 65 dollars.
>>11634734there's no way in hell thosea re to scalealso if they're worried about stepping on playmates' toes, stealing their main size-ignoring gimmick is a bad ideaalso when did April get a second L in her last name?
>>11634738>stealing their main size-ignoring gimmick is a bad ideaI thought skipped paint apps were Playmates' main gimmick these days, and Super7 already stole that.
>>11634775wait when did they ever skip paint apps? I mean Rocksteady's bullet bracelet isn't painted, and Leatherhead's belt accessories are weirdly all red, but I like to think he just boiled them in kool-aid. he IS from the south, and they do that shit to pickles down there
>>11634787I feel like those were skipped because they were still emulating the retrotoys and that was how they looked on the retro toys.
>>11635221naw, the original toys didn't paint in Bebop's knee brace, but they put that in AND even hinged it properly. They were clearly interested in, to some extent, 'fixing' what playmates left out, while still staying true to what they decided on (hence Mondo Gecko not just being reworked to have a different underbelly and spike color).but at the same time, their choice for bebop's hair and glasses color is quite off. so in the end, they are their own thing, but I still love them and I wish more were coming (though my wallet doesn't)

>>11636073Yeah, it's a work in progress.
>>11636103that's hella cool
Look, all I'm saying is I'm a bit nervous about some of the characters in 2003 and 2012 series getting a figure. They're fuck huge. Will they be increased in price?
>>11636303if anon is telling da truetrue, then they will neither be in scale nor overpriced (except inasmuch as they are always overpriced now)
>>11636306While I appreciate it, it wouldn't feel right if they made Snakeweed or Armagon or Leatherhead and Zeno and they're the same size as the turtles....But on the other hand, the shelf space won't be hogged.
>>11636308hopefully >>11634734 is not actually indicative of scale. But given how many accessories he comes with, it's pretty impossible that he and April will be the same price just because she has a coat.
>>11636320god dammit i tried to remove that attachment I added by stnank, it refused to unattach
>>11636303NECA does plenty of huge figures for the turtle lines. 2012 will be fine.2003 isn't going to make it past the second wave, however, with how Super7 is doing.

>>11638680oh.. hmm... that might make the issue worse then. the diorama is kind of underscaled, so it's really more suited for small characters. but if I picture henson and oz's arms in here, this is what, 1:8 scale?
>>11638690>. the diorama is kind of underscaledIt...isn't though
>>11638701I think he means for Sesame Street characters. Bert and Ernie are meant to be pretty short, so with a diorama like that they'd be human sized.
>>11638722preciselythe diorama is maybe just barely the right size for neca figures, but depending how you look at it, it also looks a bit small.
>>11638576Now that's a display worthy of envy
>>11638735It is the right size for NECA figures, that's a weird thing to say.
>>11638873I mean... metalhead nearly fills a doorway, I feel like that makes the door a tad low for example. the windows feel kinda low on the walls, but I mean that kinda window certainly does exist.. usually in sunken-ground-floor places...By all means, show me some pics where the scale looks right. >>11639408the what? the bay sequel? was that 2016?er um, well, no accounting for taste. Let me help you out.. http://tmnttoys.com/figures2012.html#2016scroll down a tad past the 2012 figures that were on their 4th year
When will NECA do the Disney Turtles?https://x.com/Todd_Spence/status/1995555021040288057?s=20
>>11639819what makes them disney? wasn't that in the macy's thanksgiving parade?anyway i always snicker at how these fucking suits still looked better than the ones they did for we wish you a turtle christmas and other such videos.
>>11639822Cause they where used at Disney.
>>11639825that seems unlikely for a multitude of reasons, but of primary importance is that this video wasn't at a disney park, so there was no way of knowing that
>>11640135It was definitely at Disney Worldhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKbswYaW7QQ
Mezco's movie turtles go up for preorder tomorrow, for those interested.
>>11640135https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKbswYaW7QQ>1990 Walt Disney World ParadeAnon?
>>11640177They look reeeeeally bad though.
>>11640308Agreed, but Mezco stans will make sure they sell out anyway.
>>11640308I think they look good but I don't see the point of buying them when neca already did the whole cast even if I would prefer the smaller scale. We'll be lucky to even get a shredder out of them.
>>11640156the entire fuckthat's not what dinnywurl looks like and they certainly don't have that kind of parade.. fuckin what..
>>11640351believe it or not things have changed in 35 years anon
>>11640353i meant from the early 90s, anon. i haven't been to a disney park since '92You don't understand, I've SEEN this clip before, the context given was that it was a macy's or otherwise macy'sesque parade, out on public streets, not at a park.
>>11640360ok anon but the castle quite clearly in the background
>>11640351that's literally main street at the magic kingdom
>>11640360Still looks the same as of 2016 when Google maps updated it. You can clearly see this is the same place too.Not sure how you mistook a fake depiction of a turn of the century town for Manhattan
I purchased the new 2025 mirage four pack but I think I’ve been scammed cause they gave me a code with bs at the beginning which I’m pretty sure is a brush scam.Anyway… I have the g1 bootlegs of these but am considering these with the cash I get back, are these as good as they appear? What’s the paint tone like? And can anyone recommend a good seller on AE?Any help is much appreciated
>>11629907I don’t get it, how is this at all a Ninja Turtle? It looks like a bay/shit era transformer
>>11629917I feel like this would be awesome if he had the hat, maybe a coloured top and lurched forward more
>>11640392Yeah, my biggest issue is how fucking bland teh coloring is. It all blends too well.
>>11632026Depending on how brand loyal purist you are, I did a decent karai with a very rudimentary mash up, based on something another anon posted a couple years back.Marvel Legends Stepford Cuckoo (for the black bob head) and GI Joe Classifies Python Patrol Vypra (for the body)She scales pretty well with my collection, in this image she's with bst axn's dark leo and super7's bebop, so I'm satisfied with her. (Also pictured is another rudimentary mash up, the gi joe blue ninja with red oni mask plus marvel legend's red hood's... hood to make karai an IDW foot elite bodyguard.)It's not a perfect custom, but it's also an off the shelf, no complications custom, so... like I said, I'm happy with mine.
>>11640390Turtle shell with 3 fingers and 2 toes
>>11636478>>11636481genuinely surprised they didn't have "rave toys" do a legally questionable accessory pack with masked heads for the "rage toys" girls like with not mikey. I guess the big belts and sleeves don't come off though so the helmets aren't too out of place. Jennika comes with a bow and can steal the claws from violet, so that's nice. also surprised we got dark purple instead of baby blue or white... maybe we'll get tv venus and comic venus next time. >>11636485damn he's going to look really out of place with the other three, considering you can strip them down to almost naked and notraph here is multiple layers of samurai armour>>11634734oh shit belly shirt april was teased>>11634725>do you think they're going to make a 100 dollar action figure and expect it to sell?they made gorilla gorilla so, honestly they might

>>11640425this is a most acceptable karai for meshe looks like she'd be from a period where shredder is focusing more on magic and less on tech. I always said if I did a TMNT show, that's how it'd go. shredder would focus on one, then the other, then be gone for a season, then try both
>>11640441yeah and look what happened to himmarked down to 37.50 on BBTS
>>11640425She looks great. But the way Bebop's colored, it looks like he's photoshopped in.Also, does Neca plan on doing more TMNT III characters? Mitsu? Kenshiro? Movie 3 Splinter with the lampshade?
>>11640638if we get movie III splinter before movie II splinter, i'm ... going to send them an extremely critical email. and maybe a physical fucking letter.
>>11640658Sometimes you need to take drastic steps for your voice to be heard. One of the anons in /motu/ spammed Mattel with Madam Razz porn after they bungled an exclusive online release. It worked.
>>11640664don't forget Mondo Gecko's eye ridges being colored wrong
Calling it now; given how MM REALLY wanted to be Spider-Verse, the sequel ends with a major cliffhanger that never gets resolved due to Paramount giving up on the series to start the next reboot.
>>11640664What a stupid move
>>11640768It's ok, buddy. No corporate overlords were harmed in this endeavor, and everybody got a chance to order the figure and not have their order cancelled without explanation due to corporate incompetence.I know, I know. Customers should just shut up and be happy that they are privileged enough to be allowed to bless toy companies with their hard earned money, right?
>>11640664>It worked.lol no it didn'twidespread pressure from the fandom did it not one sperg spamming them with porn
>>11640821You really need to go outside more. You talk like a clueless moron.
They're up. 350 bucks, movable eyes, but pretty spartan on accessories that aren't hands.
>>11641122As someone who isn't really familiar with Mezco ONE:12 stuff, if I want these should I pre-order now, or will they be readily available upon release?
>>11641122Eeeeesh man, those look so bad. I think they tried too hard to make sure you knew these were animatronic heads. Awful.
>>11641130You may want to preorder. Their original TMNT figures turned out better than expected, and shot up quickly onthe secondary.>>11641139Other than looking to have a bit better range of motion, they dont look to do anything light-years ahead of NECA. They may scale better with 6" figures, though.
>>11641122SOMONE WHO WORKS FOR MEZCO AND LURKS THESE THREADS FOR FEEDBACK - YOU NEED FUCKING TOE ARTICULATION. TOE ARTICULATION YOU DUMB FUCKS. Not buying this shit. Holy fuck these are shittybas the neca's. Now I'll wait 14 more years for figuarts to take a Crack and 16 for mafex...

>>11641206Chinese and Japaneses do it all the time.
>>11641222There's 3 heads each.
>>11641297I think what is killing it for me is the colors, its probably not inaccurate but everything in the movie is constantly in shadow, they look way too bright, they need a wash all over them, especially the plastron
>>11641297Oh. They're just all bad. Well that's not great.
>>11635936>>11636640>>11636858I got it done.

>>11641333jolly as fuck my dudeis that one of those cheapo lil chinese lego sets making a snowman? Those things are hilarious. I have amazon vine send them to me for free sometimes just so I have extra legos.

>>11641297Wow, that's pretty bad looking
>>11641122>Raph shits himself, causing Leo to go into such a blind rage he beheads him
>>11641344I have the Necas, but they're not in the scale I want. If these can fit in with other 6" lines that is the main appeal for me. The price is steep, but 1:12 movie Turtles are grail tier items for me so I'm willing to pay it.
>>11641373Randy's really in a panic with all this samefagging now that he's lost exclusivity on the 90 movie turtles. If Mezco's figures are durable goods he's cooked.
>>11641389yeah there are some amazingly high quality 1:12s these days, some even with fabric. so I guess these aren't a huge shock, but.. curious, what is the price?

>>11641389Scalefags really are a cancer. I can't imagine being so tightassed because something barely is taller or shorter than another thing.

OK, how many versions of Rocksteady and Bebop are there?>80's Cartoon>Konami>Archie>2012>Michael Bay>Mutant MayhemAm I missing any?
>>11644611IDW
>>11644611if youre gonna include archie and konami as separate from 80s cartoon, it seems reasonable you would also include playmates
>>11644611I'm not listing them all. >>11641767Neca also did scaled down versions of the larger figures that originally had cloth bandanas, so they had to make new sculpted pieces anyway. They also only came with one head each and this comes with 3. So, you're dumb.
>>11644702>Neca also did scaled down versions of the larger figures that originally had cloth bandanasUhhh, no they didn't. The smaller figures have always had plastic bandanas.
Given how they're "technically" around the same price as NECA's offerings, should I bite the bullet and the the McFarlane IDW turtles?

>>11644788what anon means is, the LARGER ones had cloth, so, in the process of scaling them down, they had to SCULPT new plastic bandana pieces, so that's why they got multiple tail-types, and why it's okay that these new ones don'tnot agreeing with him, but clarifying>>11644905I'm not sure if you don't understand my assertion about playmates being as distinct from 87 as archie and konami, or if you're trying to argue, because I don't see why 'has its own characters' helps with that
>>11645030Not trying to argue. I agree with you about playmates.So:>Playmates>80s cartoon>Archie>Konami>2012>Michael Bay>IDW>Mutant MayhemThat about right?

>>11645161It's easier to track characters who barely appear.>Mona Lisa>80's cartoon>IDW>2012
>>11645209true. it's really hard to do a FULLY deep dive on guys who get included a lotthis cool guy is doing these rundowns of zoids and he's starting with really popular ones that are from like 35+ years ago, so there's a LOT to go over.
>>11641297Looks off without the wrist straps.
>>11645297I guess something is weird, since they are visible in other pictures and not in some. Maybe they're removable?
>>11645297heyyy good eye>>11645299they basically have to be on figures like this, plus they bragged softgoods.
Hell, it took me until now to realize the turtle on top of the barn screaming Splinter in the first movie wasn't Raph.
>>11645623Yeah, they were going to make Mikey go through some dark shit originally.
>>11645623>>11645669i had to have it pointed out to me. it really is interesting how you can film all this footage and be sure you've got it.. and then realize maybe the story is better this other way. Mikey doesn't work as the guy -openly- going through shit, he works as the guy who's comfortable working through shit because he has a framework for it: humor. That way when he actually does start to cry, you feel it even more.Raph on the other hand is not remotely in touch with adapting to his emotions, and as the literal lone wolf, would totally go up on the roof and howl as it werewhat's amazing to me is that in the comics (I think) it was Leo getting beaten up, which they did in 2k3, which has a TOTALLY different feel. It means they're leaderless, watching over him at the farm to make sure he can wake back up and help againI do remember as a kid asking like, do you feed someone who's unconscious like that? how can raph get better without any pizza? but he can't chew...
>>11645793I know in the 2012 cartoon they had Leo the one getting hurt so bad his voice actor was switched.
>>11645932kek
>>11645949You laugh, but Raph legit asks Donnie 'why does he sound different?'"Oh his vocal cords must have been damaged."
>>11646465no yeah I assumed that's what you meantimagine getting beaten up so badly you turn into Seth Green
I could have sworn the 2012 series had a battle nexus. Did I get it mixed up with 2003?
>>11646833it would have made the whole interdimensional aspect even GOOFIER than the 2012 show already did (Dimension X, from '87, IS another dimension, the same as any other other dimension is to this show's setting, and Krang is one of the Kraang). But it was a mess to begin with. The very concept.. they've visited Usagi's world, they've seen some others, and then there's a battle nexus that links them all.. but a different dimension portal lets them meet the '87 turtles, and THEY have their Dimension X and.. there's.. all the other universes united by having turtles in em.. it's best not to think about too hard, there's a reason we're in full multiverse fatigue right now.
>>11646926oooh double tanto splinter is deadly.>>11646928who's the guy in the top right again, and why did he deserve Ace status?>>11646931Kek.. Renet, call your agent..anyway not bad. are the numbered cards special at all?
>>11646920Krang did say there's 12 TMNT universes in the 2012 cartoon too. Wonder which ones...
>>11646920I mean, it could have been a side story for the Space Adventures, the turtles get roped into intergalactic wrestling like in Archie. There's even a slew of characters who would make great pro-wrestlers, Tora the Space Polar Bear, Dirk Savage, Bonesteel, Terrorpin, Sisyphus, ect.
>>11646945seriously? that's.. such a weird thing to say.feels like Eastman is doing his own half of the franchise, like the Red Dwarf guys did>>11646981sorry anon I'm missing how that pertains to what we're talking about. What does the first 'it' refer to?
>>11646999A battle nexus arc.
>>11647013so you're saying IF 2012 did not already have one, then if it DID, it could have been combined with the intergalactic wrestling plot like the Archie comics, because there's lots of characters from alternate versions of TMNT (next mutation, the NES arcade game port, 2k3) who would have made good wrestlersokay now that I've picked this apart, I totally agree.
>>11647020Exactly!
>>11646920Imagine it like bubbles within a series of connected bubbles, where each Turtleverse is a big bubble that may or may not contain smaller bubbles like Dimension X or the universe where the 13 monsters come from in the 2007 movie. But the Usagi universe is its own uncontained bubble or series of bubbles that can link to a Turtleverse or multiple Turtleverses.Imagine the top pic is the connected Turtleverses in Turtles Forever or 2012, and the bottom pic is a close up of one of the Turtleverses that has a Dimension X within it. But some Turtleverses might have multiple dimensions within them, while something like the 1990 movieverse has none (unless you consider the 2007 movie to be a true sequel and not a branching Turtleverse from the live action movie Turtleverse.)I hope your brain hurts as much as mine.
>>11647108Pic didn't attach.
>>11647108>>11647111you know whati can accept this. it's like how there's not just infinity, there are large infinities, small infinities.. infinities that contain other infinities, infinities that contain INFINITE infinities..but i stand by my general gripe that if you overdo this, you start to realize that, to ANY character with any intelligence, this is clearly not 'your alternate universe doubles' but 'a version of you from a different piece of fiction written and performed by someone else'
>>11647111>>11647108All I know is 80's Krang said there were 12 Universes in 2012's cartoon. And we see three of them: Mirage, 80's, and 2012. I'm guessing the others are like, the live action trilogy, Next Mutation, 2007, Michael Bay, 2003, and then I draw a blank.
>>11647400Let's see.>Mirage>Fred wolf>2012>2k3>90s movie trilogy>Next Mutation>Bay movies>Archie>IDW>Japanese OVA>Konami>PlaymatesI would argue that 2007 is technically a part of the 90s movie dimension since it is implied in the movie with the Easter egg featuring the trophy room with the Time Sceptre, and Image is a part of the Mirage universe. It still leaves out a lot of incarnations like the newspaper strips, but that seems to be the main ones that existed at the time.
>>11647677yeah movie 4 was a broad-strokes continuity thing. They even carefully obscured the TGRI/TCRI canister so you couldn't see which letter it was. I like that kind of soft continuity, where it's up to you if you want to include it literally or only parts of it. like uhh Lower Decks. If it's unacceptable to you, they've given you an out: that it's just a drug-induced warping of the true events.
>>11647677I was gonna say 'How is Konami different from Fred Wolf', then I remembered Shredder's like, 15 feet tall, has lightning powers and was actually a threat.
>>11647731we had this discussion earlier, the games are clearly kind of doing their own things, and even have some of their own characters, but we can all agree it's obviously part of the '87.. continuity.. FAMILY. Along with the toyline.Transformers has terms for these things
>>11647731I'm going to be 100% upfront with you. The last two were going to be 2007 and Image, but I started doing mental gymnastics and that was the end result. I think Konami is different enough that it deserves its own listing. It's not like the 2007 video game which is supposed to be a direct expansion of that movie, or the Amazing Adventures and Panini comics which both use Anton Zeck and Ivan Steranko for Bebop and Rocksteady indicating they are both intended to be extensions of the 2012 universe. It is different enough that I thought it deserved to be its own universe. And the same justification applies to Playmates. It was either those two, 2007 and Image, or another two more obscure comics like Rizzoli and Fleetway.>>11647741>continuity familyThis.Really, I was just seeing if I could think of 12 distinct Turtle universes, but I ran into problems after 10 because most of the rest were indirect continuations like 2007 and Image (I know the history with Image, I'm just too lazy to get into specifics) or a part of the 1987 continuity family which was just multimedia marketing blitz that didn't give a shit if one contradicted another. Really, Archie is a part of the 87 family, but it really is different enough to be considered its own universe.
>>11647761yeah exactly.due to its prominence, '87 has the largest continuity family, and the most spinoffs that are clearly not in continuity, yet it would not be considered surprising or strange at all to have ANY characters from one of those spinoffs appear in the '87verse or vice versa. Which is sadly something I wish Super7 had decided to pivot to.. Give us playmates styled versions of other 87-adjacent characters. They tried with Karai but they also really didn't try.And while we're on '87 microverses, there was a -newspaper style comic strip- that ran for years, IIRC done entirely by Laird?
>>11647677And I guess since they where added later, Rise and Mutant Mayhem can be considered the 13th and 14th dimensions?
>>11644905>How the fuck did I forget IDW...My guess is the writing got stale at some point after issue 100
