Does anyone have experience with both of these sets? With ER Runabout costing as much as both of these sets combined I figured I'd rather just get a 3P. I primarily value poseability and the space to stick a Decepticon decal on their chest.
>>11636968Old iron factory releases have very basic engineering and only acceptable plastic. Their new stuff is very good but those two legends aren't worth the $150+ asking. You'll likely get most of their new Menasor for that. Xtransbots look great in vehicle mode and are the only ones still doing Hasui MP style, but their QC is infamously inconsistent. Look up tons of reviews before you buy, it can vary between individual repaints sometimes.

Runabout is where most of the issues lie but honestly the worst is a loose joint & overly stiff thigh swivel. I’m a little discouraged at how much my interest in collecting has declined in the past couple years. Newage is still dragging their feet on the main 86 movie cast, live action figures are typically DLX scaled when I want MPM, MMC and IF figures feel ten years out-of-date when they finally escape development hell, nobody has teased transforming TF:One or TF:Prime designs, pipelines are always clogged with the same combiner teams, most OC designs are sex dolls or Chinese military propaganda, CHUG scale has been entirely abandoned, and the most intriguing items never seem to make it past the prototype stage.I still look forward to the occasional legends or MPM figure whose character design appeals to me, or some of the more obscure one-off releases. But it doesn’t feel the same anymore, and that’s reflected in what a ghost town this thread has become.

You can also make a baby legs combiner like pic related. All of the connections are super sturdy, the only downside to him is his weight.
