TQ: Origins Two Bad, Blast-Attak, Stonedar, Energy Zoids, Laser Skeletor & He-Man, Eldor.
Just label them Chaos Effect dinos, Mattel.
>>11631403Is that a QC issue or just a funny mod?

>TQ: What do you hope to see on MC next year?someone already said the dinos. I got a long fucking list, and I'm not even list anon.Gygor?
>>11631434Gygor has a role in that new comic that came out this week It's his first ever appearance in a tie-in media afaik
>>11631403>TQ: What do you hope to see on MC next year? Two Bad for goodness sakes, Plasmar, Strobo, Batros, Strongarm, Draego Man, Castle Grayskullman, and a couple OC donut steels (ex. Frog Monger, Sting-or).
reposting for Beetime
>>11631403>TQ: What do you hope to see on MC next year?Almost everyone is going to list the same 13 figures we know are coming eventually. Two-bad Blast Attack Stonedar Eldor Lost 88 Laser Zoids movie characters blah blah blahI HOPE that we see Mantisaur. The line ending without Hordak having his equivalent of Battle Cat will feel wrong. >>11631419>>11631434Based lateral thinkers.
Do you think they will ever complete the original line in Origins? Or have most given up hope on that by now?
>>11631542I think they will, but they are going to drag it out releasing the donut steel and obscure characters to milk it as long as they can
I miss this show bros
>>11631553
>>11631551How can MOTU continue past when Mattel gets the DC license back? Will they really keep 2 boys fantasy/scifi brands around?
>>11631542Yes, except it will never feel truly complete since they fucked up and made Origins Multi-bot Masterverse scaled.
>>11631551I ended up not buying Stingor or Red Shadow. If Mattel wants to make dumb shit fine but I don't want to buy it. There is so many actual characters that have never had a 5.5 treatment.Ok you are doing the Cartoon collection, great. Where is Glimmer? Madam Raz and Broom. Or Scorpia. whatever the fuck her name is..She was in the damn Secret of the Sword movie and we are getting this OTHER scorpian guy. Probably because Mattel saves money due to having these Axel sketches in the bottom of a drawer.>we finally got Marlena and that's great. Daddy Matty gets credit when its due.Its be like damn you are really pumping my nostalgia pedal but not folllowing through with high octane nostalgiacoom. It's ethanol corn gas and it hurting my engine.
>>11631553The show? Sure. But not the toys. They all sucked, especially for not being Masterverse mostly
>>11631570They'll have both out. If the movie does well then they will be kicking MotU into overdrive.>>11631542Eventually. We don't have that many left. Probably in the next three years Vintage will be complete.
>>11631131>It's a tank. And it's on his head.Fair enough. Sometimes you just dig stuff.
>>11631601>They all suckedThe toys were fine, the main issue was the shoulder articulation but they improved them with the Savage Eternia subline.
A really shitty artist but somehow he drew a nice ass that didn’t get covered up this time.
>>11631623I think MOTU is one of the best examples of the perfect male-oriented toylines/franchises. Strong heroic male role-models, scary but cool villains, hot babes, and awesome vehicles.I finally managed to get a complete and working Bashasaurus off ebay. This thing is (at least for me) the coolest vehicle in all MOTU.Now we just need more stuff like >>11631419 Seriously, Origins needs more vehicles.
>>11631660I do have a question for the thread. Should I disassemble the Bashasaur and add some silicone grease under the main gear slide? I want to help preserve the toy and I think adding some grease under the slide will not only allow for a smoother action but also stop the plastic from rubbing against each other. Has anyone tried this?
>>11631403>TQ: What do you hope to see on MC next year?Stonedar to go with his bro. Purple Spector because it would be funny.
Vkyron tank armour and space armour MeteorbsThe girl rockStar Fox cowboy from the new minicomicSagitar from NA.
>>11631542>Or have most given up hope on that by nowNot with the original line but I've kinda given up hope for most of the other stuff I hoped for out of Origins >given up hope for minicomics characters. In all this time they've only touched Geldor. MAYBE we might get Lodar at a stretch since he's the only other minicomic guy Classics touched, but Garn, Kex Queen, the masks of power monsters will continue to get no toys>don't expect Sketchbook Series to go beyond variants anymore. >And there was never much hope even at the start that they'd ever do some of the real deep cuts I've shilled for in the past like Shezar and Mindbeast>don't even have hopes for Gygor anymore because they seem to have moved away from making vehicles and creatures for the regular line outside packins with playsets (snorse)The only one I'm still clinging to a shred of hope for outside the vintage line is Goat Man because he's in that movie. Outside that I expect the remainder of however long Origins goes to be just vintage, variants of vintage guys in toon forms or whatever, or Axel characters and other stuff they made up themselves to reuse parts. Maybe a few more CC PoP too.
>>11631553That Despara design is honestly the best one they've ever come up with...so of course it's the one that will never get used
>>11631434Speaking of new comic I'd love Strobo (with Plasmar) and Fearless Photog. But as >>11631786 said, yeah, I still have hope we'll get rest of vintage. We've been moving towards that goal bit by bit every year. But I lost hope for everything else. I admit, we finally got Marlena and there were few other good releases this year. But Mattel seems so stubborn not to finish anything ever I'm losing faith for as basic asks as Eldor or Strobo let alone any more specific wish list ideas.
>>11631467How do you do this effect? Cool pic, dollar store animals get slept on too often.
>>11631601I quite like them
>>11631587You can kind of imagine multibot was meant to be a giant robot, and he was just scaled down in the original to save costs, seems doable to me
>>11631670Yes, that's a very good idea. I've done that with some of my older Transformers with ratchet joints and it has helped immensely.
I am still holding out for origins to put out some kind of "entry level" collector 4-pack of minicomic repaints of the A-tier characters, or for the next online retailer exclusive 4-pack to have true army builders.>minicomic pink Teela, orange Rammy, lime Mossman, savage (barefoot) He-Manor>camo palace guard, bone white skeleton warrior, x2 slime horde trooper, no snakeI'm ready for more origins stuff that isn't an axel OC.
>>116321031st pack would be good
>>11632103Add an Origins Skelecon to that second pack and I'm all in.There are a lot of good Motu themed 4-packs. The Great Rebellion, New Adventures Guradians and Space Mutants, Concept Art Horde members, I'm a lazy collector and just want to get one box with all things at once.Does Mattel make less money off packs compared to single carded figures? I'm not a hardcore toy collector so if this is a dumb question, I just didn't know.
>>11631877Man, I still need to find Ork-0.Also It's weird that Tri-klops is on an Eternian guard body, but from my recollection it never controlled one. I think they did that as a way of pre-tooling a potential figure. I know it probably would have shelf-warmed like crazy but I wish they'd done a figure of Justine, she was cute, and WOG states that even after becoming self-aware Tri-Klops misses Justine.
I like Masterverse
>>11632278>Does Mattel make less money off packs compared to single carded figures?I think it's more riskier for them. If you release four figures individually then different collectors will grab what they want, when they want. But the four figures together, it's a higher price point and maybe they take longer to sell, or maybe the collectors will say "I really want X character, but I have no interest in the other three, so I'll pass and see if X comes up on ebay or whatever."
>>11632368I've coomed to Justine before. Kino show.
>>11632392>I've coomed to Justine before. Kino show. With a seriously disappointing amount of R34. Honestly the whole franchise is under-served.
Has anyone gotten Barbarossa customs swords? I'm thinking about grabbing them, but I only want them if it's plastic, not cast resin.
>>11632278>Concept Art Horde membersYou could also do a sketchbook "warrior women" 3 or 4 pack with the witch, the archer, the Amazon and (optionally) Octavia (if you exclude her from the Horde pack). Were there any other noteworthy female concept characters?
>>11632404All of his parts are hand-cast in resins
What's the best thing to use to fix floppy knees on Origins figs? Clear nail polish?
>>11632588Shit. Why isn't there more third party support for MOTU? Ramen toys making those replacement heads for the Movie He-Man fucking ruled, why can't we get something for MOTU like DNA Design does for Transformers. Or better yet, maybe Mattel should just included a full fucking Power sword with every He-Man.
>>11632596I’ve wondered that since the beginning. They have all these modular parts and with that one pack the designers are even aware how much parts swapping can be done. Ramen early on was looking at kits but just did those heads. If your looking for a full sword BBTS right now has the Flying Fist He-Man on sale for $6.00 which is cheaper to begin with than that caster. You also get an extra hand and head as well. I bought a bunch of these for parts at Big Lots when they were open for $7.00.
>>11632596I have a similar question. Does anyone know of anyone who makes custom heads? Last year I swear I knew a bunch of people through watching Mr Home Arcade but I can't find any of them anymore. Some guy made an unpainted Red Earth head he used for a custom and I really want one now that we have Thundercats. Or anything else like accessories really.
I found these on hlj maybe they could work with MotU.Horror shit:https://www.hlj.com/1-12-scale-puripura-figure-play-showa-horror-knowledge-mii27216Normal medieval weaponshttps://www.hlj.com/1-12-scale-puripura-figure-weapons-weapon-workshop-evolution-vol-1-mii27218I'm sure they're on other stores too
>>11632638That’s Megacustom X. He makes a ton of cool shit. I think he sells the files for 3D printing but he’s also made painted parts as well. He had a post recently about his sales are down to the US, I think he’s in Germany. He also made that donkey companion for Rio but also did a really nice Red Shadow before release.
>>11632649Oh shit thank you. I can't find his lion heads but he still has some cool shit. He doesn't ship to america anymore though
Marlena shows a little leg
>>11632837Not thrilled with the boots and tights. I could have sworn we got glimpses of ankle in Filmation and they were bare in flats like Perfuma's.
Speaking of, who in PoP do you ship Hordak with? Perfuma? Entrapta? Octavia?
>>11632496I like your warrior women idea. Doesn't have to be limited to concept art either. Enough people talk about Battlefield Teela to include her. There are others off the top of my head>astronaut Marlena>New Adventures She-Ra....actually maybe save her to go with the barrel bottom NA morts>Huntara>Queen GrayskullPlus the concept girls you mentioned. Mattel could get really cute with this and let Club Gayskull members vote on who gets included in the packs. Also wrth mentioning that Fuerza T pack is the only way I'll buy any other except Platino (sorry Fuerza Anon.) I say this with love because I want you to get your wish.
>>11632921Ship like a real sea worthy vessel?Or just who Hordak rapes occassionally when his evil plans are so good he needs to empty to balls to regain a clear head?He doesn't seem like a one woman dude. He probably just points to Catra or Entrapta and says "my chambers..NOW!!." >*snort*
>>11632921I project a lot onto the heman cast. Heman is scared of sex, and someone like Hordak or Skeletor just aren't interested. He definitely wouldn't be interested in anyone except maybe shadow weaver.
>>11633003>scared of sexIt's not such a big deal. At worst you might get a little sticky.
>>11633045I've had sex before lol, I really would prefer to just be left alone with my toys. I dread the He-man movie's lead actor. He looks ugly and french so I don't know if I'll be able to project him onto myself.
>>11633003>Heman is scared of sexGenZ-man
>>11633055>He looks ugly and french so I don't know if I'll be able to project him onto myself.Start by eating some French food.Have a baguette. Have two.
>>11632837I'm gonna remove that dress and top...
What do people think of the character choices for Motu Transformers? I heard a lot of people get mad when I was looking for reviews but they never explained themselves and I missed the reveals.>He-man and Prime makes perfect sense >Skeletor and Megatron makes perfect sense >Man at Arms Bumblebee is weird but apparently their logic was both are the right hand men to the heroes. There was no way they weren't going to do a Bumblebee and I can't think of anyone better than Buzzoff because bees. Prince Adam ironically is the only kid appeal character I can think of. I dont get the feeling we are getting big waves like the TMNT line either so I guess they had to be picky and had to pick popular characters.>Scareglow as StarscreamOk I guess that popular well known character thing doesn't fucking matter actually. But this one is great. The point is obviously because the Ghost of Starscream and Scareglow is the Ghost of Skeletor. Do you think we're getting Hasbro Transformer Heman collabs the other way around? Tigatron as Battle Cat would be amazing.
>>11632404>I only want them if it's plastic, not cast resin. Is resin bad? I don't know anything about third party customs but I was excited to see the image you posted, I'd love to order some additional Powers Swords, especially for He-Ro since Mattel didn't include one even with the Club price increase.>>11632596>Or better yet, maybe Mattel should just included a full fucking Power sword with every He-Man.Makes too much sense, this is nuMattel. I paid for the expensive LOP set and they didn't even bother to include one for He-Man or Skeletor.
>>11633145>Is resin bad?Not particularly. It is more fragile, but for purely display purposes it's fine. There is potential for it to react with other plastics if left in direct contact for a long time, but the same can be said of plastic itself (look up "Mego melt").I just personally don't want resin because I like the specific toy feeling of plastic. I like the feeling of knowing that it IS a toy, the idea of something being so delicate that it has to be specifically a display piece for the rest of its life just bugs me. Same reason I don't like doing custom paint jobs on my figures, I paint minis and model kits, so yes I COULD add more detail to a figure or paint a custom head, but then it's not a toy anymore and the whole reason for me buying it is gone.
>>11633175Thanks anon. Hopefully someone will start 3D printing Power Swords in a high quality plastic at some point.
>>11633179They make home kits for actually melting plastic pellets and pushing them into a mould, they're not cheap, but they exist. But hell what I don't get is why someone hasn't just placed an order for like 20,000 power swords from some cheap place in China, cast them in silver and/or grey, sell them for a buck each, easy. If I had the cash for the initial investment, I'd do it.
>>11632916>could have sworn we got glimpses of ankle in Filmation The queen is a brazen whore!
>>11632952>Mattel could get really cute with this and let Club Gayskull members vote on who gets included in the packs. Now I don't want it anymore
>>11633137I would have preferred a sexy Evil-Lyn in Starscream armor, but that will never happen. Otherwise, yes, there's not really a lot else they could do.I have been in these generals for years asking for an Optimus Prime Attak Trak. But if the transformer can't sit a 5.5 then I'm not buying. Other ideas to consider:>Spydor Megatron>Fright Fighter Starscream>Grimlock BashasaurusIf Hasbro can do even one of these and give it a good bot mode, I'll be happy.
>>11633194
>>11633280>But if the transformer can't sit a 5.5 then I'm not buying. It'd be Hasbro making it, and given how Hasbro have been operating lately it'd cost you $300.>Grimlock BashasaurusBeast Wars Megatron would probably suit better, he's already a purple dinosaur. Honestly I think Beast Wars is a better fit for the crossover over all, but G1 is what sells.Being a BW fan in a G1 world is suffering.
>>11633280>>11633314Correction, you said Bashasaurus, and for some reason my brain went Tyrantisaurus.
>>11633317
>>11633314I wanted the macross 7 crossover so bad but it was literally 200 dollars so you're barely exaggerating... although that was takara tomy but still. I'd kill to see Heman crossover with some weeb shit.
>>11633280It they didn't have to stick to G1 Blackarachnia and Evil Lyn would be perfect. Either a Evil Lyn as Blackarachnia or Blackarachnia as Evil Lyn both would work.If they ever do more than these 4 in MotU I wonder who we will get. Teelita 1? Soundwave Beastman? It's a shame it cant be as crazy as TMNT for whatever reason. Probably licensing bullshit.
Also it's a shame She Ra and PoP can never get in on these crossovers due to licensing bullshit.
You guys think Mattel would ever take the Classics mould and give it Masterverse articulation?Did a quick shoop and man, I'd love to see it happen.
>>11633326>>11633317>>11633314All things considered, and as a massive BW fag and geewun hater, beast wars WOULD be the perfect cast to do.They have the perfect bird bot mold to make a Screeech and Zoar, and it's something I'm already doing with the Filch figure they released a bit ago. Hell, Screeech already could transform into Motherboard too.BW characters would also scale a lot better too.
>>11633370Teela in Arcee armor seems like the obvious next step alongside either Hordak Galvatron or Trapjaw Soundwave. >>11633392Classics is not coming back.
>>11633418>Trapjaw Soundwave.Beastman is perfect in my eyes because he controls beasts and Soundwave's cassettes are almost all animals. If big stuff sold well we could even have a Ravage Panthor. Arcee is probably better yeah. I was thinking love interests but she is more iconic. Imagine if they made Origins Pretenders since they were always part of the MotU trend. I think. I just assumed. Either way Bludgeon Skeletor would be amazing.
Triclops and Shockwave seem like a perfect match too. Because eyes or whatever. >>11633416>BattleCat and Panthor Tigatron >Airrazor Zoar and Screech>Gygor PrimalI'm sad itll never happen now. Not to mention prehistoric earth just fits so well with Barberians. Especially Dinobot who taught us all how to beat the shit out of eachother with weapons.
Are there any new adventures of heman fans? Like is that actually a thing? In other fandoms I see stuff like Beast Wars fans or whatever.
>>11633599Funny timing, I bought the DVD set for it today at my used bookstore. I haven't watched it before. Thought I'd get it now because I rarely see it at the my usual spots.
Ditch the cape (but keep the collar), add the sleeves and amulet, and swap the colors, and the "Magestra" animation model would make a serviceable Filmation equivalent of the witch.
>>11633599I thought it was an okay show when I first saw it on tv. Entertaining enough. Flogg and Slush Head are my favorite characters, the whole bad guys dynamics are pretty good imo. Shakespeare compared to whatever passes for cartoons these days, YouTube excluded.
>>11633599That's a tough call. I am probably one of the most vocal "fans" of the show. But even that comes with my qualification of "pretend this is He-Man's son in space" to help get over the lack of connection to regular Motu. The New Adventues cartoon is kind of like an ink blot test. If you want to be positive about the show then you'll notice its good qualities and have an decent time. But if your mindset is that the show is hot trash that killed the brand you'll find a lot of justify that repuation.
>>11633871>No_More.jpgOnly 5 more left anon, we got this
>>11633785I desperately want to like NA and for it to get good origins toys... I'll watch the show with some alcohol if they ever come to origins.
>>11633880Not gonna lie, poor man's skeletor is the best of these (besides Fangor). Bleak times are ahead if this is what the line shifts to. What the fuck is the pink blob besides red shadow?
>>11633884>Pink bloblittle critter from a memorable filmation episode. I wouldn't mind Gladiator, but fuck the rest of these. Including fangor.
>>11633880All of the Classics contest fan entries are better than any of Axel's OC's. I don't understand why Mattel keeps producing these designs. Is it just because he was an illustrator for the packaging design department? Are connections really everything?
>>11633880>SpectormobileHoly shit I didn't know Axel made a purple deadpool car
>>11634043>Real Name: Rajar Powar Kamal IIIPrince of the ancient City of Kundali. For decades Ra-Jar reined over the hidden Jungle Kingdom with great wisdom and justice until the Snake Men army conquered the holy city, occupying the Grand Palace and enslaving his people. After he escaped, he joined the Masters of the Universe in their battle against evil. With his power of Hypnosis he is a powerful ally if the Snake Men strike again.Snake men are so bad they invaded MotJ india and make THEM leave. Let that sink (Sikh?) in.
>>11634043>don't understand why Mattel keeps producing these designs. Is it just because he was an illustrator for the packaging design department? Are connections really everything? The way Mattel does shit changed>80s: line had dedicated toy designers whose first goal was create fun action features and build the characters around that. Packaging art was handled by a different guy. They'd reuse stuff where they could but never let reuse dictate what they made, would tool new to make a feature work, and once times were good, they ditched most of the reuse and let their imagination run wild >Modern Mattel: no dedicated toy designers. Just get the package artist to draw new characters. Reuse of existing parts the #1 priority, no modern character is 100% new like you'd see with vintage Snakes or Horde. Action features ditched and not a priority, and lore made a driving factor in character creation so modern characters all have a derivative feel and none stand out as unique.
>>11633418>Classics is not coming back. It's not about Classics coming back, just using that body form (or a least one like it). I don't hate the default Masterverse body, I quite like it, but those original Classics proportions capture He-Man in a way the modern Masterverse, or even the 40th anniversary just doesn't.
>>11633880Line up potential upcoming POG figures from best to worst. You add Bandwidth and IDK, Preternia Disguise He-Man.

There was no way they weren't going to do a Bumblebee and I can't think of anyone better than Buzzoff because bees. Prince Adam ironically is the only kid appeal character I can think of.Orko was considered option. He would probably fit pretty well but it's hard to make Orko an super awesome exclusive figure justyfing the price.I'd go with Teela. She's yellow too, and with her dad on the team, she basically has permanent "rookie in-training" status, similar to Bumblebee.
What do you think Keldor would be like if they stuck more closely to minicomic set-up? With him being missing Randor's brother and Skeletor hiding his identity? Would it be more interesting than what we got?
>>11634091>>11634092Ugh, fine, version without the bar.Line up future POG figures from most to least desired: Veena, Might Spector, Gladiator, Eldor, Beast Lord, Tytus, Caucasian Grayskull, Sir Laser-Lot, Preternia Costume He-Man, Great Black Wizard and Bandwith.

>>11624616How'd you learn to draw the bicep-deltoid part?
Did Axel create any Evil Warriors among his many OCs? Or did we got Classics concepts beyond Draego
>>11634833Presumably the cyclops is an Evil Warrior because all his teases have shown him in their company. That said though, considering how minicomics generally fuck up shit in terms of backstory (Frog Monger supposed to be an evil monster imprisoned in Grayskull and boxart always showed him with Skeletor, minicomic he's a cursed prince that's actually he-Man's friend and they let him live in the basement because reasons; and Stingor being Horde but the comic saying "no, ackshully he has his own faction he's leader of in subternia and we aren't gonna mention Horde!"), I wouldn't be surprised to see that kinda bullshit applied to the cyclops. We already know he fought Wun-Dar, wouldn't be surprised if he's actually dead in current year despite the box art
>>11634856>no, ackshully he has his own faction he's leader of in subternia and we aren't gonna mention Horde!Yikes. Just when we thought things couldn't get worse than the Classics Bios......

>>11635505Holy shit I'm glad I got mine, that's the best MV skeletor IMO. As for reissue, I'm guessing is not impossible, I actually don't know much about MV reissues, but origins does get em sometimes depending on the figure, seeing how this skeletor seems to have been popular I don't think is impossible, but if MV has never gotten a single reissue the chances go down to basically 0.

>The film had no credited costume designer; all the clothes were designed by the toy company MattelFunny thing is the movie Megaforce is practically GI Joe ARAH while the closest to MOTU might be Flash Gordon

Mattel should have changed Wave 3 Lion-O to Mirror Lion-O so you could have an evil version instead of a silly slightly different repaint>https://thundercats.fandom.com/wiki/Lion-O_(Mirror)
O randomly came across this fanart and cant help but wish it was what New Adventures was. Or a new version of it. I wish it was more like a Moebius comic than... I dont know generic space shit. (The ship was awesome though.)How would you even fix NA?
>>11636700How do you fuck up space barbarians so bad. I'll check out the actual cartoon someday it might not even be that bad now. But those bastards took it off YouTube
>>11636700Do you mean the toyline or the show?
>>11636755Both
Here's your space suit Marlena, broLmao
>>11636837The regulars here are probably sick to death of hearing my opinons on it. But here we go...One big complaint that applies to both the show and the toyline is that it had very little connecting it to the Motu that came before. Other than a few characters' names the show could have been any other generic late 80s space themed show. And the toys reflect this as well. They were a totally different scale and a different vibe than any other Motu toy that came before. Growing up my friend had a Slush Head toy that we didn't even realize was supposed to be a He-Man villian...cool toy but looked nothing like the others. How would I have fixed this? I think the toyline should have kept the same 5.5 scale. This would have helped bridge the gap between the old and new quite a bit. I've been banging on that drum since 2020 that Origins should be updating the best designs from NA.Picrel is Dare, which still looks like a Motu character with a few futuristic touches. He still has the classic power sword, the harness armor and the boots. Compare that with what we got for the offical design. The one of the far end shows just how the vintage NA toys don't fit in with Motu. And even in Classics, I think the design is still boring.
I don't think the show can be fixed without major story changes. Most people who watch the show ask why He-Man's look is totally diffrent and why there are no familiar characters and settings. In my headcannon the show is about Dare, the son of He-Man (an idea from a scrapped Motu reboot.) It's kind of a paradox because the story needed a cleaner break from vintage lore for its protagnoist but also needed to embrace it more in terms of supporting cast and settings.Set up the story so that Dare is the one patroling space around Eternia, while King He-Man keeps things stable at home. Now you have the story possibilities of them needing to visit each other. Man-at-Arms can come aboard the Starship because only he can do the thing to wrap up this episode. Dare can go to the Rock Warriors' homeworld. Rio Blast is supposed to be a space cowboy so give him unfinished business with Flogg. Have a budding romance between Teela and Icarus in the midst of her stepping up as the new Sorceress and him being away long distance. Mattel could get super cute and have their other properties such as BraveStarr and Black Star show up.There are a ton of interesting ways you can take NA if it was treated as an expansion of what came before, rather than ignoring it completely. That meant trying to capture lightning in a a bottle twice - they were building from scratch, but also trying to use the brand recognition to boost it. And they just didn't manage to do it because none of the new stuff was as compelling.
>>11636993put the turtle tank head on her.
>>11636993why did they even include the helmet at all ffs
>>11636700>How would you even fix NA?Literally just make it Star Trek, fulfilling the tagline of "masters of the universe."With Skeletor finally driven off Eternia and the land at peace, Adam thinks he can relax, reveals the secret of He-Man to everyone and almost retires, but soon news arrives from, let's say Zodac, of various universal crises popping up. Sorceress confirms that it's Adam's destiny to go solve these problems. They get a big wicked space ship to fly around and solve problems in. Randor stays to govern Eternia, Marlena captains the ship, since she has experience in that department and can make official diplomatic decisions. Each episode is Adam and friends beaming down to some new planet, solving someone's problems, or battling the Mutants, who are now a wide-roving band of pirates. And naturally we get to see and clash with the Horde in their full space empire glory. The old NA heroes can be crew members, galactic mediators brought on by Zodac, maybe. The mutants are fine and need no change beyond the slight change in motivation, they and Skeletor interacting were already the highlights of that show.Explain the laser sword by having the Power Sword explicitly reforged to summon Greyskull's power from any distance, but the original design turns up for big moments like the finale as He-Man summons strength beyond strength.I think it would be cool, anyway.
Unrelated but I was thinking of making an Arukenimon 'custom' figure from various Origins parts. Not a perfect 1;1 obviously but like I was thinking Modulok legs, and a Catra/Shadow Weaver chest but that's where I'm stuck. Like, I guess normal female arms but like BIG Ram-Man hands or something.
>>11637431tfw no Wrap Trap Mummymon
>>11631403Why did i buy this...
>>11636996I have that original He-Man and I too never knew what it was from, it was just a generic muscle guy I used to stand in for Arnie when playing with my Predator action figure. I recently got the fella on the far left. No clue who he was in terms of the actual canon I just love the design. For me I think the best way to fix NA, is obviously make it He-Man's son, or maybe even grandson. Obviously the toyline needs to be the same scale, even if they slimmed down the proportions. As for story, if He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is sci-fi Conan, then NA should be about sci-fi pirates, He-Ro should be a dashing rogue Errol Flynn type. Maybe his ship is called the Eternia, and maybe there is some thing about Grayskull got flung out into space to protect it or to stop bad guys trying to take over Eternia and He-Ro found the map and is trying to get to it or something.
>>11636700I think i wrote something aboit this in older threads, but i would say make the Space Mutants alien mercenaries and enslavers that attack Eternia and the Galactic Guardians are the cops to prevent them to fuck everything up.It starts all with the Rockpeople fleeing to Eternia and RiotBlast is the assigned cop to protect them. The Space Mutants follow those Rockpeople to enslave them. Because they can farm their skin who grow minerals and crystals they can sell. And Riot Blast calls the Galactic Guardians to fight them. When you want to step the game up, say the Space Mutants and Rock People are one species. Their species can mutate to adapt to other habitats, but the Rockpeople developed rock skin and dont mutate like the other mutants anymore. This is heretic for the Space Mutants, they hate them and so they enslaved the Rockpeople for profit.
>>11637513Because he's back and he wouldn't be back if you didn't buy him. He'd be away.
>>11637528Space pirates are one of the best aesthetics ever. Captain Harlock and Treasure Planet (Disney) are some of my favourite examples. It's a shame they didn't go very far in this direction. I recently found out that the fucking mechanical designer for Mospeasa, Bubblegum Crisis and Megazine 23 did work on NA and it pisses me off how they didn't get him to to do characters and toys. Imagine Heman with transforming bike like this come on. He had the lamest power armour ever.>>11637163>>11637005>>11636996I was the one who asked and thanks. I dont have much to add I just have a weird fixation on bizarre sequels and thinking how they could be better. I regret not going full inti Heman back in 2010 when they did reintegrate everything from the series in the line. I only had a few figures I love when franchises do that.
>>11637635>Treasure PlanetI almost used that as an example, but I didn't want to give the impression of He-Ro (or whomever the main character would be) being young and inexperienced.Honestly though, not turning MOTU into an anthology with a different setting for each version is a mistake. I know OG MOTU is supposed to be all things at all times, but it needs a primary setting, original is sword and sorcery, NA could be space pirates, there could be a western version, robots, they almost did that G.I. Joe war thing, go back in time to when the giant that became Castle Grayskull fell and there were the ancient aliens. So much potential.
>>11636389Mattel seems to be under impressions that there are 3 groupsThere are hardcore fans who will buy it anyway, maybe to complete a set. There are casual fans who only know and want main characters. They dont want Lion-O in red shirt, they dont know what that means. It looks like bootleg to them. They might have missed out on first Lion-O and so they'll get this one now.And there are in-between invested fans and fuck those guys, it will save us most money that way.
>>11633003>Skeletor just aren't interested.but skeletor made out with evil lynn in the latest tv show. He seemed to like it.
>>11637676In the new comic, there's a bit of dialogue between Skeletor and Evil-lyn about putting in so much effort into finding the Sword of FlawsSkeletor doesn't want to waste the effort over a sword because he'd rather have shit like a giant robot or something instead of a "purple stick"Evil-lyn comes up behind and whispers in his ear that maybe she likes purple sticksSkeletor's expression at this is clearly that of a man with a boner

>>11637831CRINGEWhat are any of Skeletor's facial expressions trying to convey? Why do they have a blue outline? All these other random squiggles that are supposed to be shading I guess. They're not as fun to pose and play with as Origins and I dont like the scale. Designs are hit and a miss. I did buy some and I tend to actually like the robot characters. I don't understand why Mattel did Masterverse with Origins at the same time though. It feels like it would cannibalize sales. If only Masterverse came out I think I would have enjoyed it more.>>11637872 I've never seen anyone be this shitty about it just you complaining about it.

>>11637635That’s a bummer to hear. 80s Japanese sci-fi and mecha anime is unmatched and would’ve made NA much cooler. They probably were stuck with Mattel’s designs though and had no flexibility to add in things. I fear when we get to NA stuff in Origins we’ll be stuck with Cartoon Collection with maybe the 200X style bodies now. The NA remakes in MOTUC were some of the better redesigns of figures made. Especially since the Horsemen do monsters and aliens really well. NA really would’ve been cool if some of the space oriented characters showed up like Rio Blast, the Comet people or even Zodac. Teela had that odd look when she showed up. Some of these Sketchbook characters look like they’d fit right in as well.
Any chance we will get an origins skeletor with a head like this >>11638034?
>>11638568Getting those Dark Brandon vibes form this.
Just learned that these exist. God damn I want more rotocast He-Man figures now. They were everywhere in the late 90s and early 00s and now they don't exist at all, but they are so fucking good.
Where did that guy's review of the 200x He-Man go?Did the Mattel manchild shill mafia bullying him into taking it down? I swear it was here in this thread because I laughed at He-Mans wrist.
>>11638761>who you calling pinhead12 inch action figures are very fun, I agree
>>11638761I heard of them but never saw them in person. I forgot how good the Four Horsemen's sculpts were. I could never get into mythic legions because it was too realistic. I want that Rioblast with a massive gun arm.
>>11639018>I forgot how good the Four Horsemen's sculpts were. That's the best part about rotocast figures, sure the nature of them means limited articulation, but the manufacturing process captures intricate details perfectly. Anyone that owns this Hulk figure knows the magic of rotocast. Those new Titan Heros that Hasbro keep pissing out are a bad joke to the scale.
>>11639091>means limited articulationSometimes I feel very conflicted about toy collecting because I like articulated toys but I barely do anything with them. I make sure to have natural looking neutral poses most of the time so they're not just standing up straight but I dont really do fight scenes or anything that dynamic. I could probably just collect statues but they're usually high end and expensive and dont look like toy and take up a lot of space. Rotocasted stuff still looks fun as hell and like toys though. I'm kinda afraid to see if the second hand market on ebay is nuts or not thought. I tried to get a picture for this thread found out this guy is 150 dollars lol
>>11639100A lot of people act as if articulation is the be-all end-all of toy collecting, and I will admit being able to pose figures is a big part of the fun, but honestly you'd be amazed how much fun limited articulation can be. You grab one of these guys for five bucks and it can only move at the shoulders, but you don't miss it (or at least I don't). Sometimes it's not about the amount of articulation, it's about the right kind of articulation. I'll forgo elbow articulation if a 5 POA figure can raise their arms at the shoulder and T-pose.I'm not saying I don't love how much articulation Origins has, but I've had figures with the same amount of articulation that just felt awful in hand.
>>11639163MotU has some of my favourite articulation which is why I got into it so much despite just being a casual MotU fan. You can make them squat like the old toys or stand up like actual people. Ankle tilts are great. I thought about trying to go back and collect vintage but I never bothered yet but it has nothing to do with articulation. And I'm going to start collecting Galaxy Warriors from Formo Toys soon and they're way closer to vintage
BATTLE BOAR
>>11639167>inb4 Mattel shills come to shit on FormoTheir Warriors of the Galaxy are great. I feel bad for the vintage Galaxy Hole stuff because the new ones mog them so hard. The limited articulation isn't a huge deal unless you are trying to make take meme photos. They look great and stand sturdy.
>>11639192I found out Formo are doing straight up Frazetta characters soon and I'm extremely excited. Pic related. I could never get into their Dragonore series though for some reason. Nothing is bad it's just nothing really grabber me also the price is a lot in my currency so I have to buy my absolute favourite designs.
>>11639193I'm in the same boat. I pick and choose which ones to buy but so far I've been extremely pleased with them. The paint apps are so good, lots of detail and the plastic feels high quality, so as a complete package they feel like money well spent.
Not enough jolly posting in this thread. Are you getting anything motu for Christmas this year anon? It's not too late to send a letter to Santa.
>>11639213I meant to post this
>>11639228I have the forst part of the Transformer Crossover toys, Sketchbook Syclone and Scareglow. It's up to luck if I get them for Christmas or not.
>>11637982>I personally don't like the buck and body type they use. It's too realistic or something.Masterverse is boring. Like most 6" or larger figures, they're designed to be adult collectables that sit on a shelf. They lack the kiddy charm and playablity of Origins. It's the same reason I don't collect Gi Joe Classified, even though Gi Joe was my favorite toy as a kid. If you're not going to play with your toys, then why not just collect pictures of figures and pin them to your wall? You'd save a lot of money.
>>11639252Because I'm not a retarded child who bangs toys together and I love hoarding toys so children and man children can't get them. I put them in the background of my toy review podcast with 100 viewers per video and after I a month I throw them in the trash while laughing at poor people.
>>11638767>Where did that guy's review of the 200x He-Man go?I removed my own review because I realized that my initial opinion of the figure's plastic quality was influenced by a certain Youtuber who claimed that the 200X Beast Man figure was made of a cheaper quality of plastic. After further inspection of the 200X He-Man figure, I realized that the plastic quality was the same as any other Cartoon Collection figure.

>>11639624I hate when companies release 3d renders first. I can't judge it properly at all. Me on the left btw.
>>11639283Why is it a yikes? Zoloworld is great at making things that look and feel nearly identicial to the actual cheapshit figures back in the day. Their new designs are no doubt much closer to what an actual line at dollar stores would have looked like. The Formo figures are often very cool, but are also a very modern take on things with retro styling. Two totally different things. Personally I like them both but wish they all would stop dicking around and improve articulation a bit- either full origins style or at least some wrists.

Well I don't like backpedaling gaslighting faggots. >nearly identicial to the actual cheapshit figures except in price. zolo charges as much or more than formo...got vintage for the same cost as his new stuff. not hating on his hustle but lets be fairYes, let's be fair. Fair is acknowledging realities of production. The price of old dollar store bootlegs from the 80s is because there were hundreds of thousands of units pumped out IN THE 1980S. You think toy costs are the same? They are making these in ultra low runs, especially now compared to when they started back in what, 2010s? which makes costs astronomically high. I doubt it's for some concept of scarcity. It's because the market for these is extremely small. Even a difference in a couple hundred units can increase/decrease costs. >they are doing their own take on what a 5.5 line could be. They didn't set out to copy Origins but that is what people demand of them. if anons want to praise zolo for doing what they set out to do, how is that different from formo doing the same? Both figures cost moreOne is making very accurate reproductions and perfectly slotting into an existing line. Formo is a weird middleground that doesn't really go with anything. They're too nice and detailed to go with old figures. But they lack the articulation or feel to play with new figures. If you're already changing the aesthetics and modernizing something and charging $40 for it, why not have it match the very popular current updated stuff that you're trying to emulate?
I ran out of room but on the last point:I don't mean to say that people shouldn't make new lines and aesthetic decisions and make the toys they want to make. They should. But you shouldn't sperg out wondering "why do people say this about x and not y" because the why is very simple. They're their own thing. It's basically got to cultivate an entirely new fan base on it's own. I'd argue that formo's aesthetic is the most unique in the entire motu market. Which is cool for them, but it also means that by very design they stand alone. So don't be shocked when people who only buy vintage and vintage repro style don't buy them, or people that have grown to love the modern articulation skip it as well.

That face is so retarded tiffany wants to use it in a comic book.>Fair is acknowledging realities of production. Sure. Do you think that Zolo has the same size production runs as Formo? My point was that people say Formo is overcharging, and I was directly debunking that by pointing out that their toys need new tooling, have better sculpts and more paint. In my opinion they are fairly priced for the great finished product. And this seems especially true compared to Zolo which are very basic and don't have any updates to cheap dollar store bootlegs.>even made a second post to say when Zolo tries for more they have made some excellent stuff>I don't mean to say that people shouldn't make new lines and aesthetic decisions and make the toys they want to make. They should.Ok agreed.>why not have it match the very popular current updated stuff that you're trying to emulate?Because that's not what they wanted to do. Your biggest complaint about them is that they aren't Origins. It feels like you are trying to say things from both sides of your mouth.A Zolo doesn't fit in with Origins either. You can't pose them and they look very simplistic. I am bringing this up to debunk your complaints about Formo by pointing out another company whose figures have the same "flaws" but you don't go out of your way to shit talk them. In fact you wrote 2000+ words defending them. It comes across like you just want to argue because you have some animus with me.
Perhaps part of this problem is that I collect 5.5 stuff in general, not just Motu. Obviously He-Man was how I got into this but now my goal is to have an amazing collection that isn't limited to only Motu. But I could see why someone wouldn't be as open minded if they were chasing filmation nostalgia.Other anons have posted about picking up 200x stuff to fill in their gaps and they didn't seem to mind the different looks or differences in articulation.Honest question, do you actually own any Formo or Zoloworld toys?
>>11641520>>11641217genuinely hyped for both of these. Yippee!
>>11641520Great, then when they revive the ToGS collab for the shows 40th in 2027 we can finally get the Oooze Pit retool.
>>11640609
>>11641520>sex Slime Pit
>>11641217Does it mean the trailer will be Today or on Monday? Like today in case its open to the public and on monday in case its exclusive to ccxp audiences first, though I think it would leak before then.
>>11641520>sex slime pitHmm interesting. Brazzer X motu collab?Jokes aside, glad to hear this. My kids love playing with the vintage one but the skull's plastic is really brittle and whenever they want to use it I have to spend the next 45 minutes with my buttchecked clenched waiting for something to snap off.
Origins chads we won
>>11641938>a line with vehicles and playsets aimed at kids, might be 5poa?>the movie line is compatible with origins and have MORE articulation>7" scale btfo
>>116419385.5 with 30 points of articulation sounds exciting.
>>11641940I predicted this. Adding articulation is how they'll keep people buying. It's already working with the sword hand on figures hinging down instead of sideways.
Now I'm wondering if Mattel will only release Blast-Attak, the movie trio, Laser He-Man/Skeletor etc as Chronicles figures to entice Origins collectors to start over with new versions of everyone else.
>>11641985Maybe they will finally arrange a deal with Top Toys to just to pad Origins out with Fuerza T and stretch it out a little bit longer.
I'm on fucking cloud nine right now holy shit>>11641938>>11641520>>11641217
>>11641938The chronicles thing talking about a high level of detail. You think they're gonna be using the same face tech that they use for the wrestling figures? Full 3D scans and face-printing?I wonder if the proportions will still be exaggerated.I am actually pretty excited about this, fuck I hope the movie does well.
>>11641938Huh. Fascinating. So is this is it for Masteverse? If Chronicles is replacing it scale will make new line more compatible with Origins so you cant really use them together. I mean, that's a bit more drastic than shift between 200X and vintage, right?
>>11642081>So is this is it for Masteverse?Nah, if anything I think Chronicles will basically just be for figures based on the movie and other more collector oriented figures.Dropping Masterverse would be a mistake because that's an entire scale line wasted.
First waves are apparently known.
>>11642288>Skelegoon>Mekaneck>Feature Roboto and Trapjaw>Creaturekeep it coming mattel
>>11642288ORANGE CONFIRMED LETS GOOOOO
I just want Origins Laser Power He-Man. Why the fuck can't they just release it?
>>11642311It's coming, paypig, why not enjoy the other stuff coming out in the meantime? Like, say, orange?Didn't you have orange growing up?
>>11642317No. I grew up in the 90s and had a bunch of Power Rangers toys. He-Man is something I only got into as an adult.
>>11642320I'm similar, I was a little young for He-man, my friends older brothers did have some MOTU toys and I always thought they looked cool, but you couldn't get them by then, I think I got into MOTU in College when I rediscovered 200X and got into classics.
>>11642317Wait they are actually going to do one and it's not just this >>11642311 guy's wishlist? Because I too want this. Also what head will they use? I hope it's the "Lundgren" head.
>>11642342Idk nigga, but Mattel likes MONEY. They will make it for this reason.
>>11642288Holy shit orange is my favourite MotU character I cant believe he's finally getting a toy
I have a theory. I think the axe is supposed to be He-Man's primary weapon. He doesn't even use the Power Sword until issue eight of the mini-comics. I think making the Power Sword the key to Adam transforming into He-Man in the Filmation series retroactively made it seem like He-Man's primary weapon rather than simply being the key to Grayskull. Was this obvious to anons that grew up with He-Man in the 80s? Are there any anons that prefer to display He-Man with the axe?
>>11642422>Was this obvious to anons that grew up with He-Man in the 80sYes and no. There was far more emphasis on it being the key to Grayskull in the early media but I don't think that it was *only* that.I was a Goldenbook fag and without going to check the dates of each book to see when the transformations start showing up, it should generally fit that the earlier ones he had the sword but wasn't transforming. By the time Orko starts showing up in the books, Adam was transforming to He-Man to.And in the early minicomics Skeletor had his energy blade, not the staff or the other half of the sword.>Are there any anons that prefer to display He-Man with the axe?Absolutely.
>>11641938Fuck I hope that these don't have too much detail or else they won't appeal to collectors who like modern articulation and a medium level of detail. This shit is going to pegwarm so hard. Also Skelegoon? Someone has to warn the execs that this word has a new meaning. But it will canonically if Skeletor's penis is fully function or not.
>>11642430>I hope that these don't have too much detail or else they won't appeal to collectors who like modern articulation and a medium level of detail.Or they could specifically appeal to collectors who want MORE detail?>Skelegoon? Someone has to warn the execs that this word has a new meaning.Yes, because we should shape how things are or should be around retarded degenerate zoomerspeak. This is just a terrible post overall, anon, and you should be ashamed.
>>11642439>This is just a terrible post overall, anon, and you should be ashamed.Projecting again Tiffany. Keep losing, ok?
>>11641217>>11641520>>11642288Is any of this actually real? Mattel should be sending out an email Club Grayskull post to confirm this stuff.
>>11642479We will find out soon if motu is at ccxp, big reveals should start on Friday and Saturday.
>>11642342I bet it comes with a vintage head, and one based on the new actor.
>>11642521That He-Mania article was just a bunch of speculation that is so broad its easy to say you nailed it.>maaaaybe a trailer?>maaaaaaaaaybe some movie merch?>btw treat this all as rumours in case we are wrong.Modern marketing is strang. All this information comes from anywhere but Mattel themselves. This might be a boomer thing to say but an email telling me to tune in to see some exciting He-Man news would be way more direct. I'd be fine with a newsletter once a month with whats coming and what's going to be revealed next. But then Mattel does send me a peekaboo email about Dragstor who they already revealed and said was coming? lmao what the fuck are they doing.
>>11642558Mattel’s kind of lacking when it comes to timely info or reveals. Maybe they’re tied legally but they shouldn’t considering it’s their own brand. We have 2 figures right now they’ve never revealed but people have bought them. Theres also a figure that was sold at a con 3 months ago. People have posted pics and vids of him and here we are getting an email hey here’s your exclusive sneak peak of an upcoming figure. Can you guys guess who it is???? Can you????
>>11642558Companies do reveals and announcements through community influencers these days because it's more direct than a press release or media event. Mattel makes multiple different brands so their social media encompasses the entirety of product they make. Between MOTU, Barbie, Monster High, Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Fisher-Price, Thomas & Friends, Polly Pocket, American Girl, etc. a specific reveal may get lost in the shuffle. Influencers reach their brands directly, if Mattel wants MOTU fans to know about a new product they'll send Pixel Dan a prototype and have him reveal it, if Hasbro wants to let people know about new Transformers they'll send him a big box full of them, etc. They know fans of those properties are watching these reviews and news videos anyway, so why not let them do the heavy lifting for them.
>>11642565>it's more direct than a press release or media event. Is it though? All we got to go on in this thread is some maybe fake pictures. Some of us signed up for Club Grayskull and that seems like a platform to directly reach paypig fans. I get sending out physical toys to reviewers to make hype but Pixel Dan doesn't cover that much Motu stuff to say he's the source for everything.>why not let them do the heavy lifting for them.Because youtubers are manchildren who probably can't lift 50 lbs. Seriously though we end up with >>11642561 type situations where its just a cluster.
>>11642288Chronicles sounds like it could be fun, but since I haven't seen the movie designs yet it might be a complete pass.
Mattel says "disregard all previous information"
>>11642735He-Mania.com seem to have removed any posts referencing this information. Is He-Mania actually worth paying attention to or is it basically a tabloid gossip rag?
>>11642742Well, just in terms of toy news, they're usually less "gossip rag" than Toyhabits. They report on things when there's actually tangible proof they can cite. Like just to use the example from this thread, Toyhabits posts "muh heckin secret anonymous sources confirm Slime Pit 100%. Proof? Just trust me bro" (whether it's ultimately true or not is irrelevant to the point I'm making.)Compared to Hemania which is not reporting it, and even if it is true, won't report on it until some sort of official reveal like a product listing or images getting posted online or a Mattel press release. Of course outside toys Hemania WILL post rumors (see their article on the movie rumors from the brazil comic con) also post op-eds, shill their podcast, shill their new MotUcon, etc, so they're not exactly perfect either
>>11642735If Mattel denies it then it must be true and they are pissed info already leaked. It's like when Michael Bay was pissed at Hasbro for leaking certain things because of toy leaks.
>>11642751I have transformers 2007 movie ptsd
>>11642735NOOO NOT ORANGE
>>11642561I'm really confused about something and I figure now is the time to ask. Is Optimus Heman and Scareglow Starscream out yet? I want to buy them on Mattel's site but it says they're preorder and expected in spring. But Ive seen people on youtube get them
>>11642774>No new Orange figures since vintage>Teasing over years in comics and box art>Back to nothing in just 24 hoursOrange bros... we got too cocky...
>>11642751smart anon
Wait, this means leaks are legit? Why would Mattel lie then?
Its friday, where's the movie trailer?
>>11642839>>11642831Mattel has to because of legal yadda yadda shareholders. However, they said the information is "inaccurate" so we'll truly see soon enough. Trailer should be out by at least next week if not this weekend.
>>11642777witnessed. poor orange.
>>11642864>Trailer should be out by at least next week if not this weekend.I legit cannot wait any longer, this is my most anticipated movie of the summer, I wanna see what Travis Knight did
>>11642932me too bro, my wife is sick of hearing me talk about it
>>11642951Let's hope the trailer is great and the movie is great or atleast good
>>11642932>this is my most anticipated movie of the summerI can't wait to purchase an action figure of Suzie (Adam's African lesbian best friend) for my Son. If that doesn't get him into Motu, I don't know what will.
>>11642998rumor is she won't be in it long.... Fingers crossed. At least she's not ugly and fat!
>>11642998>>11643004Apparently she has 2 minutes of screentime
Damn, she looks really good, specially considering this is origins.
>>11642839Its overTrailer in january (it makes no sense to release it then with no major film release)I pray he is wrong
>>11643146>fuck you it's January theory: this film was always planned/expected to bomb. They're making it as cheap as possible(no imax screenings which costs more, trailer only shown in front of movies where it's cheapest, etc). And it's only really being made to pump up a huge movie year at retail- which means big bonuses for execs.
>>11643189But it has a $200 million budgetI don't believe january and he >>11643146 doesn't say he heard, he says he THINKSAmazon MGM would be foolish to not release it in front of Avatar 3
>>11642752You shouldn't the 2007 movie is the second best Transformers movie.
>>11642804>4-packI feel safe in calling it that that's where Goat Man and Pig Boy figs will be lumped in if the even get figs at all. The other two figures will be cashmoney figures because Mattel will lack the guts to give less well-tested characters a real shot. Or they'll get no figures at all, idk
>>11643146>a literal who>says nothing solidIs this the power of heavy lifting? A $200 million dollar movie and no one seems to be in control of the marketing.Has anyone asked Scott what he thinks?>>11643219>I feel safe in calling...>or not at allShit boyos, we got a he-mania writer itt with us.

>>11643311Maybe, but I heard we get trailer on Monday. I heard trailer releases this weekend/next week are like this:>december 6 (Today) Supergirl>december 8 motu>december 11 avengers doomsday>december 15 spielberg ufo flick
>>11643311Surprise it doesn't suck, more like it.
>>11643885Lol
>>11643311Nah
So a second wave of 200X has hit Aus retailers. I grabbed Evil-Lyn and Man-At-Arms. Are US anons interested or is this old news for you guys?
>>11644339you're the first person Ive seen online to get them, congrats anon. Id love some more photos of them in poses and maybe some part swapping too.
>>11644348I took some more pictures. Here is "nude" Evil-Lyn for anons that are interested in the base body. Take note the chest overlay is EXTREMELY form-fitted and is fairly difficult to remove, and even tougher to get back on. Also her arm do not lie flat against her sides. Her ankle joints are not loose but her feet have a very narrow surface area and she is fairly top heavy so she topples easily.
>>11644366Also god DAMN do I hope this becomes the standard female lower half. These thighs have a perfect amount of muscular thickness and this ass is great. Also the hip joint is open enough that you can get about 45 degrees of twist, so mobility is great.
>>11644368Man-At-Arms doesn't look anywhere near as stripped without his armour. I appreciate that they did actually sculpt detail on the base body. His hips don't have as much range as Evil-Lyn's but his arms will lie flat.
>>11644371does this guy have any drop down on his hip? The transformers figures do, so I wonder if that's some of the new articulation we'll see in Chronicles.
>>11644371For a company as well known for parts re-use as Mattel, they really put a lot of sculpted effort into these 200X figures. Also the green knee-pad for Man-At-Arms is a separate piece but not removable. There is a little wiggle room, so I don't believe it's glued, but it is keyed to fit in place. A determined anon may be able to remove it if they really needed to.
>>11644373>>11644377No, the hip is a straight bar. Also I just checked my Skele-Megs and I don't think it's supposed to be a drop down hip. One side goes, but the other is totally locked. I think it might be an unintentional quirk of assembly. Happy to be wrong on that though. As you can see in this picture shoulder armour is on a ball-joint. It has a lot of mobility and can get out of the way of the arm.As for part-swapping if there is some specific characters you want to see (and I own the figure) let me know and I'll try to make that happen latter as I need to go out now.
>>11644384Something I forgot to mention, the mushroom peg holding the armour together is really wide and requires a fair amount of stretching to attach/detach, so I wouldn't recommend doing that a lot.
>>11644338How tall is she next to Origins girls?
>>11644377Why is 200x worth all this extra effort?
>>11644388Okay last one for now. I gotta go. Also while taking this image I realised that Lyn shares the same base body as Cheetara. I wonder if Cheetara was them pre-tooling the new female.>>11644439Probably because kids who grew up with 200X are now the adults with money in the collector space and the series hasn't really gotten any merch in 20 years. Also going a little bit further with the effort on these figures but keeping them compatible with the regular Origins and CC lines gives them more variety to work with in terms of re-use later.
>>11644338Does her boob bone paint look fucked up to anyone else or am I being nitpicky
>>11644384>if there is some specific characters you want to see (and I own the figure) let me know and I'll try to make that happen latter as I need to go out now.Can She Ra and Evil Lyn swap parts? Or Frosta?
>>11644439If they released these and they looked WORSE than the 4H figures that would be pretty embarrassing, wouldn't it?
>>11644477It's not super precise, but it doesn't look bad in person.
>>11644479She can swap arms and legs with She-Ra and Frosta with ease, skin tones don't match obviously.
>>11644479>>11644578The neck ball on the other hand is slightly larger on Lyn. I tried not to exaggerate it with perspective, the neck ball on Lyn is probably a third of a mm larger than Frosta's. I didn't check with She-Ra because the head on my She-Ra is crazy tight and it feels like it's gonna snap the neck every time I try to pull. I'm sure you could get the heads to fit on if you warmed them up, but it is something to consider.
>>11644492>If they released these and they looked WORSE than the 4H figures that would be pretty embarrassing, wouldn't it?They do look worse, but in fairness they're trying to recreate the look of the animated series not the 4H toy line.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE TRAILER COMING THIS WEEKIt's either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday as on Thursday it's Supergirl and Avengers DoomsdayBeyondReporter (accurate source) just said it's comingGrace Randolph also said it's releasing before Thursday
>>11644455How does she look with vintage style Evil Warrior guys?Because if she fits in well enough with my existing crew, and if they release her in a yellow repaint, I might replace my wave 1 Evil-lyn with her
>>11644371>>11644377They're really going all out on that line. How many parts on him arent reused? His hips and his hands are old and...his whole right leg? The boot is from He-Man, his lower lower leg is normal just with kneepad on top and his thigh...Im not 100% sure, it looks more angular than normal ones, doesn't it?
Do the gi joe hands and weapons fit with the origins line?
>>11644743Yes and no. They would need to be slightly modified to fit the arm hole and MOTU hands don't have gun fingers. Also looks a tad smaller. WWE hands fit MOTU Origins
>>11644699>His hips and his hands are old and...his whole right leg?The hips and hands are re-use, the right leg thigh IS more angular, more polygonal (for lack of a better word). Here's the wild bit, the boot is actually new as well, I thought it was re-use from the 200X He-Man, but the sculpt is different (the foot is re-use though) even the leg above the boot going up to the knee is also unique in that it has moulded keys for the knee-band to fit.So basically outside of the hips, hands and the right foot specifically, this figure is 100% new tooling.Maybe
>>11644679>How does she look with vintage style Evil Warrior guys?I don't have any of the original 200X bad guys, sorry.
https://youtu.be/kzl4-MolQ5Q?si=AXsfRlOQ8susLHezplease give us a trailer this week mattel
Did anyone get some good during all those sales recently?I finally got Snake Armor Clamp Champ from bbts. I might have voted for Trump 3 times but that doesn't mean I'm to racist to hate this sunner. Glad to finally get some kind of variant of him. Also Mini Comic Trap Jaw. He just seemed like such a lazy reapint that there was no way he was worth full price. But for $8 he's worth a shot.I almost got Jitsu because the first one I bought has had his parts taken to improve other characters. But just for shelf representation for his classic look, there are a lot of cheap, complete vinage ones out there, I might just as well get one of those.
>>11645216they aren't really new discounts at all, but I've been grabbing the CGI stuff. Most of it is still available for less than MSRP and it's not a big line to collect.
