Where to buy
>GSC Online Shop - some figmas only are available through their online shop
>Amiami - usual place for buying, to some people, shipping is a bit higher due to packaging
>Hobby Link Japan shipping is usual lower, but their prices are a bit higher, private warehaouse is available
>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid bootlegs, you can spot them as 'Chinese version'
>http://jungle-scs.co.jp/ - Seems like you can fine some good deals here
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection for any offer/deal

Here's a link to the buyfag guide list of shops:

If you're getting into the hobby, there's plenty of other useful information to find on the wiki.

In case someone is interested in the printable backdrops/dioramas & other papercraft stuff that Max Factory have in the download section of their site:

Short illustrated posing guide by Max Factory
>http://ameblo.jp/figma/entry-11564427757.html (in moonrunes)
The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

Tomytec's 1 inch scale section (1/12 stuff, little armory, vehicles and others)

For 3rd party accesories/diorama pieces just look for 1/12 stuff (for other scales just ask in the thread)

Two new 2b reviews and an appended image of Figma 2b (right) next to SHF 9s. Which might be relevant to some until Goodsmile makes a 9s (if they ever do).
Definitely starting to like this figma more than I did, and the scale isn't as dramatically out of place as I feared. Still a bit on the bigger side, but hardly noticeable. Way more hyped for a2 now.
Definitely still keeping my SHF because I like it, and it's not like a second 2b looks weird in a collection, but the Figma is my definitive 2b. Just a shame it doesn't come with self destruct mode parts, or the rings around the weapon when sheathed, but those weren't in the anime, so that isn't GSC's fault.

My luck with figma is terrible recently. Saw Laplus was on sale at BBTS, decided to pick her up, and one of the elbows just snaps right off after a few bends. Yay... surely this can't be glued.

It was really tight and the joint tried to worm its way out every time I bent it, but I just thought I needed to be more careful. The other arm is completely normal. I hate these stupid hinge elbows, they cause more problems than they fix.
>>11633895
Last time I tried to submit a request over this sort of thing they were being finicky because of Japan Post being suspended, but I would rather they take the loss so I'm trying again.

This elbow joint design is crap. It has no durability and breaks instantly if you move it in the wrong direction. Even though the previous design is obviously superior, it's still highly praised within the manufacturer. (YouTube Channel)

They replace stuff over paint QC? My Chloe has a lot of bad paint apps, I fixed most of them fine enough with a gunpla marker, but I can't fix this shit. And this is already a replacement fig...
>>
>>11634481
My Chloe was a disaster too. Hair looked 3D printed, inner coat was already paint transferring and lots of black smudges on the skin parts etc.
They replaced some parts, but I'm still stuck with excessively scratched coat flaps.
What the fuck they were doing in the factory during her production, idunno.

My La+ also has a face where the mouth is printed below her lips and they didn't want to replace that.
Fuck, I hope Koyori and Iroha fare better when it's their turn.
>>
>>11634481
>>They replace stuff over paint QC?
Depends on the rep you get.
Have I ever got a paint qc replacement? No they told me to fuck myself despite my dreaded dread samus being a qc bomb. "Here's an arm now fuck off" was basically what I got told.
>>
>>11634481
They probably only care if its a physical issue like a literal broken part or two right hands or someshit like that. Paint QC, unless the face is completely fucked, is probably a "damn thats crazy".
>>
>>11634507
>unless the face is completely fucked, is probably a "damn thats crazy".
Nah they genuinely dont even give a shit about that. Im the one who bitches about the hibiki act mode being a shitshow every year and they responded with "It is supposed to be fucked up".
>>
>>11634041
In an attempt to divert attention from these issues, company broadcasts are constantly praising "this type of joint," saying things like "it goes well with delicate paint" and "the unevenness is not noticeable."
I learned my lesson with Chloe's arm. Once it comes loose, it doesn't go back in place and becomes loose. You can't replace or maintain the joint yourself.
It's really awful.
>>
>>11634486
Yeah, sounds about right. Posted about it a couple threads ago, but the first one I got had two right forearms, so she couldn't bend her left arm forward at all. Sent her back and got a replacement, but this one has really messy paint around the sleeves and an elbow that won't push all the way in. Really sucks, I was excited for her.

Figma's isnt flat? Do you not see the deem shadow on her ass? Its actually really plump and large. Id recommend looking at more pictures. Makes the assplate figurearts used look like a marvel legends. Figma's real issue is the skirt and top not being the same black. Looks bad.
>>

Sophia is just some OC illustration right, not a character from some media? She is kinda tempting but I try not to get figures of characters I don't know

Ball joint.
If I were to customize Tobee at all, though, I'd also give her double jointed knees.
>>
>>11634917
yes shes an oc of takamine nadare who somehow just got GSC to make loads of figures of her, I got the artbooks of her they're very nice, and the figmas have all been good so if you want one just grab one, if you want more context just check out the art book on sadpanda
>>
I posted in the /a/ buyfag thread, but didn't get much traction there, so might as well post here.
Back in 2019, I tried getting the Konosuba figmas, but by that time only Darkness was still available, and she's been sitting all alone on my shelf since then.
I didn't realize that GSC issued a re-release of them when the third season hit in 2024 (and assuming by the date, of Megumin for her spin-off show in 2023 instead), and now they're already becoming hard to get.
I got an Aqua off of Jap Amazon, but the few Kazumas/Megumins that are still there don't ship over here.
I found them on few of the sites, but out of them only one, Solaris, is even mentioned in the buyfag guide, and it starts with a warning about them sending out bootlegs years ago.
So if anyone could share their opinions on:
>japan-figure.com
>plazajapan.com
>solarisjapan.com
I would appreciate it.

Solaris are pretty great, never had an issue. They will also undervalue your package if you’re willing to take the risk to avoid import fees. I’d also look at jp mercari and jdirect auctions through zenmarket/buyee or Mandarake.

I should note that Kazuma, at least mine is loose as hell and it came from amiami and was the latest reissue so don't be surprised if he is wonky.

I haven't ordered from those sites personally but have seen many others vouch for them. Are they really that hard to get now besides Megumin who always sells out. GSC clearly still can do coom figs, which makes one wonder why they fail on figs like 2b.
>>
>>11635109
If they’re not focusing on making something specifically to be horny, they don’t put a lot of intricate thought into to it, like the obvious difference between the bikini Sonicos and the bikini Figma styles bodies. 2B is a character who isn’t based on horny art, plus it has to be approved by Squeenix, who probably required both shf and figma to produce a less sexy figure compared to their own bring arts.

>Also what are differences between figma and figuarts besides arms joints placement and figuarts being seemingly more slender?
Figma has a smaller head (and worse faces in my opinion), has more upwards kick and knee bend. Figma also has more arm bend but the feathers aren't properly sculpted. Figma doesn't have a lot of outward leg movement, but it does have a lot of forward and back, and a good ab crunch.
Overall, the Figma is the best, but the other two are still good. For a "definitive" 2b I'd go for Figma, though. The Figuarts also only comes with one sword.

Well, figma certainly looks most well done with exception of arm joints being more visible due to color contract between black and white. I got myself one because I already had Mika and Noel so I was sure quality would be good. But I was curious about articulation because recently I've been looking at various action figs from bunch of studios, mostly military and gacha related, and realized that usually action figs have hard time going into prone or sitting like picrel. I noticed figs wearing actual clothes started to pop up so I was wondering if it solves some articulation problems or it's just aesthetics/cost thing. One one hand it seems like it'd allow more limbs movement, on the other I have Springfield from Arctech and her tight pencilskirt does the opposite.

>>11637000
Thanks. Though seeing how this board has thread for each studio, I'm starting to wonder if it isn't some fanboy echo chamber case. At least thanks to this thread I found out Nice Nature has figma. I guess that's another purchase, but not this month because I already have bunch of old pre-orders coming, meaning I'll have to pay taxes + I didn't get to save any money this month, and I find that unacceptable.
How is articulation on buzzmod?
>>
>>11637011
>I'm starting to wonder if it isn't some fanboy echo chamber cas
What is? People here preferring the Figma? Maybe a bit.
But as someone who collects Figma, SHF, AY/Revo, I'd say the Figma is the best of the lot in a general sense. Some minor misses, but strong otherwise.
I'm not a Figma fanboy. In fact, I was out of collecting Figma for a bit since they did too many Hololive releases, and many of the ones that weren't Hololive were also half-baked. There's a lot of weak Figma releases, like Doom Slayer Genos, Nanami, the Chainsaw Man line, Isaac Clarke. But they actually did really well with a recent few, and I do think 2b is one of them.
Having said that, my experience is mainly with those three lines listed above. I don't collect Snail Shell, for example, so I couldn't tell you how the figure is from that perspective.
>>
My mio figma torso falls off easily now. It never used to. It will hold a pose still just fine and if I shake it it never comes lose, just after moving it a bit it just falls off for some reason. Especially if I abcrunch her.

How is articulation on buzzmod?
Forgot to answer this. I can't tell you, because I don't own the BUZZmod, but as far as I'm aware it has its weaknesses too. I also think the skirt makes her torso look way too fat. But you might have to ask BUZZmod owners what they feel. I own only a select few BUZZmod.

as others said it most likely a cost cutting measure, but I do think theres some aesthetic design choice in it too, they usually do it for sleeves, like the upcoming Miku or trying to capture Marcille's baggy robes without doing actual cloth, doing a single joint does make it look slightly better in a static pose when bent like >>11637793 at a glance looks fine and would look pretty good on a shelf from a distance.
and there are no doubt tons of statue fags that kept complaining about joints that gsc sadly took seriously, because really a lot of the people that dont normally buy figmas and just does it for their generic vtuber of choice would be better off getting a statue and frankly figma arent too far off in price to some of them nowadays

that's something that bothers me about nu-collectors, tthey always cry about joints because "muh gaps" I get there are figures with really hideous and/or overdesigned joints that breaks the silhouette of the figures and, at the end, doesn't add range and just looks ugly, but those fuckers just hate every single exposed joint and want everything to be covered in soft goods

if I were to guess its because of the black straps, a single vut would be incredibly limited by them or you would have to cut into them, so they gave her regular double jointed elbows

>>11637854
yeah it has always been a thing, probably helps that figmas has better distribution than statues and the shipping is cheaper so people think "wow I'm saving so much" or that figmas are smaller, but like yeah, you're buying an action figure, there will be joints and cuts, just spend the extra on a statue since you're probably not gonna use it posability anyways

Well, my Suisei just arrived and thankfully her back ribbon and her elbows were fine (though the elbows already feel a little loose after moving it around). But mine came with a different defect where her right ankle doesn't fit completely flush into the peg hole so her legs are misaligned and her right leg feels wobbly to stand (left leg has no such issues). Also noticed that the ankle joint already has stress marks so I don't know if they tried to jam it in during assembly. Sucks but I'm gonna have to check with GSC on this. :/
>>
>>11639833
Well nevemind, the left elbow peg snapped in half mine. Right elbow is fine but now I'm worried it will suffer the same fate. I really wish they'd drop this dumbfuck design and went back to balljoint elbows.

My only real complaints about the Bring Arts that I have are that the stand's too big to grip her (Which sucks even more what with the floating gear and Pod being attached to it) and that her hair's translucent instead of solid.
>>
>>11640026
Yeah I didn't realise she was that tall, although she actually looks like kind of a small 1/10. The faces are excellent and it has a really nice aesthetic, it's just the amount of paint required is a little more than I was expecting, the lack of range in elbows, can't cross chest properly with butterflies and no waist articulation, in addition to the general plastic trade off to action figures, puts the figma higher for me despite it being the anime version.
>>
>>11640041
Figma's proportions are pretty nice despite being the anime ver.
The only cons for the anime design for me really are just the lack of self-destruct mode option and the lack of rings for sheathing the weapons.
>>
>>11640044
I'll have to come up with something to let her sheathe them.

Eve's not that well known since Stellar Blade's only a year old. Shepard would have been a good choice, but maybe the customizable options like FemShep and being able to create your own character made them think the default look wouldn't sell well. Doesn't help that Andromeda killed the franchise.

Holy cope. Truly figmashills right here. If you actually like figma you would actually complain about these qc enough that hopefully with enough word spreading around gsc would do something and remedy it. Instead you're blocking your ears and telling others 'just don't buy it' because its vtumor while posting more figuarts qc problems. Fuck off.

I am honestly mad at how they're doing blue archive figmas now. I only got shiroko and that figure is great, some of the others like kazusa I heard are equally great as well. Then there's yuuka with those elbows and an anon in the previous thread had his yuuka broken at the shoulder. And now the vtuber stuff with the broken elbows. Things are not looking good here.

I'm that anon btw. I didn't any problem with the elbows (for now) but the thing that broke was way worse and it's a shame because Yuuka has good articulation and was more fun than Kazusa for me. You can thank Makoto "Max" Watanabe for this due to his strong personal relationship with guyver creator Yoshiki Takaya. They've been friends for over 30 years, with even a reference to Max Factory appearing in the OVA P2 in 1991.
He's also the reason we got the 1/6 GI (and hopefully the GIII that was shown years ago)
It will be a sad day if anything happens to Max and it stops getting his support since nobody else seems to care.

>>
>>11641733
Nta but I mean they made a V from Cyberpunk didn't they? Shephard has a defined, iconic look much more so than V, in fact female V is the more recognised look for that one and they went with the male one. I imagine the majority of people don't even edit Shepard, Mark Vanderloo is his appearance.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious. I mean most toy companies that make figures of video game characters that can be customized do the default/canon appearance. He tried to call that the dumbest post on 4chan but ended up actually making the dumbest post himself kek

Saw this pic of Skull Knight and his pony and god damn I want them. Dunno why when it comes to detailed armor Max Factory’s articulation is better than it should be but I’m not complaining. Raging Wolf was a surprise, but even back in 2017 Saber 2.0 had a weirdly detailed torso that gave her added crunch, she shits on most figma in terms of articulation today.

So I know asking a general is probably gunna result in a strong bias, but I'll do so anyways.
Opinions on the figma nobara versus the figuarts one?
>>
>>11645887
Figuarts: better likeness (in my honest opinion. Figma skews just a little too much anime girl in Nobara cosplay by comparison)
Figma: better poseability since the skirt on the Figuarts is a hindrance, better accessories.
Personally, I do find the mismatch between soft goods skirt and plastic top hideous, but it does provide better range..

thank you, anon.
I do think im leaning more towards the figma at the moment, the soft goods doesn't really bother me. the softer facial features however are like you said, a girl cosplaying nobara.
>>
>>11645910
Not like Figma's likeness is necessary bad. Just a bit on the softer side whereas the Figuarts captures the specific style a bit better. Figma is just a better figure overall, though.
>>11645897
Not that I know of.

>>11645897

>>
>>11645887
I recently got both, and I'd say the Figma. Not just because of the skirt, but also because of the accessories (comes with straw doll, individual nails and also squeaky hammer if you get the bonus).
The other downside of the Figuarts is the shoulder. They are quite disjointed from the torso and don't look great in a neutral pose.

I don't own any fate figures, but I imagine he's worse just due to the design. Fortunately I've been through this with the threezero 1/6, so familiar with his armor design and the problem areas like the collar and wrist gauntlets. Berserk has some great designs, and they look beautiful in 3D, but functionality wise they are not toyetic at all just because of the amount of detail. The shf are the same.

Okay I see why you guys like these ones. I'm a little sad there are a few paint blemishes, her relaxed hand has scuffed paint at the cuff, couple of bits on the hair by the headband, some dots here and there, but ah well. Also the hilt bit on Virtuous Contract is very loose. I'm really impressed with how well she stands unassisted considering the giga heels and she feels substantial despite being a little girly.
