What are some fuckups that toy companies have made, big or small? Can also be ones that you never see anyone else mention.

You're your parent's fuck up.

While cool would this really be as on par in quality, or more expensive overall? Maybe more something third parties would find worth in now that I think about it.
>>
>>11633289
Quality wouldn't be better but it would be marginally cheaper than buying the official models. Also you'd have to do a lot of clean up to smooth the printed pieces and your printer would have to be super precise for the small interlocking pieces.

but 3D printing is complete shit

Consumers: Uh, hey, you guys forgot to paint these GI Joe Ultimates faces

Super7: They look fine, deal with it.
>>

Considering they do injection molding you be having a lot more labor intensity of sanding and smoothing everything out. If we are talking a grey scale you paint 100% yourself, I wager it'll be slightly cheaper in cost but all the extra work cancel out any sense of gaming the system.

Hasbro has made a few poor choices over the past five years.
>>
>>11633400
I think the forthcoming smart features are gonna make that look sensible by comparison.

Genuinely Funko for oversaturating their own market and overproducing so much they had to dump millions worth of stock just to get rid of it and save on storage cost.
Had to get it out of the way carry on

I can speak to this because I had a friend actually print using these files, it works build wise, but the joint strength isn't there because it's made for KPS/PS rather than resin/3d Printed material. Mind you with glue and paint it would stick better, but it was still nowhere near Bandai level.

I'm waiting to see some Chinese guy make a 1/100 Rising Freedom using the data.

Not really a screw-up, more bad timing. BBI released this figure and then a couple of weeks the Columbine Massacre happened with the guys dressed identical.

Completely a coincidence until some Karens saw it and had a fit needing to being on the news about how outraged she was.

kek I bought that figure

That's actually 21st Century Toys. They did a whole line of villains, but Armed Terrorist was definitely the most infamous. Walmart's lackadsisical return policy and the downturn in '08 is what eventually killed them, though.
>>
>>11633498
Any 1/100 is not happening as a result of those files because bootlegging the kit as a normal model kit from runners requires they 3dscan the actual runners because they need to know relatively where the injection molding points are. They can't make a profitable bootleg if they need to actually do work in figuring out how to make the mold from the cad files since they are sub-assemblies already in the CAD.

The transition to remove plastic from packaging to be replaced with what felt like knock-off packaging, then trying to excuse the renders not matching the figures, then the backpedaling back to plastic covers again was great.
