what have you guys picked up during bl*ck friday? w*lmart had a bunch of the jada megaman guys for $10 so I'm happy
I don't think I've ever seen a good toy deal on black friday in my 5 decades of existing.I haven't bought a toy on Black Friday since probably 2012, because Black Fridays are generally busts and too busy just to buy a toy on i can normally get any other day for full price.... granted, black fridays for the past 5 years have been generally waaaay less busy, but there's fewer toylines i buy at retail now, so i've continued my trend of buying toys on black fridays. Also, i saw no good deals in ads this year for electronics/games/etc and i didn't see a single thing in stores this morning that looked good.
>>11636691Agreed. I picked up two things from the fall BBTS sale since I already had a Pile of Loot and I'm also participating in this years /toy/ Secret Santa and what my person wants isn't stuff I can get at a toy mart in town or a toy store. BBTS had a few of the things he wanted and they were a good price. For myself, I bought two cheap things, one to use as fodder and another because it was so cheap ($8 for a 6" action figure). I did buy myself the Super 7 Iron Giant Deluxe that I had seen at a Target a few months but passed on because I thought $34.99 for a 7" action figure was way too fucking much. When I got home, I saw it supposedly had 20+ POA, and thought "well" but it was sold out when I hit that Target Super Store again, since it's not in my neighborhood. Glad of it, because it was on sale for $25 and that I would happily pay, but that was a sale early in November (or maybe even late October?). I have spent like $200 on myself this month, including one thing I picked up at a Ross, regular releases I would buy from Game Stop or WM or Target. But I also got $150 in gift cards alone and already had another $200 unused, plus unused gift cards at Amazon, so I've spent no real money, including the about $100+ I'm spending on my Secret Santa.Black Friday, as far as toys go, has pretty much been a bust. I don't even see things that are just - 'hey, at that price ....'
no great deals where I am, there are a couple figures with a 5-10€ discount which I was interested in months ago but it feels like I would just buy them to buy something and not because I really want them. A store I buy regularly from got a 15% discount on everything which would be nice but everything is sold out. I might get a pokemon action 2-pack for a steep 2€ discount on amazon just to get free shipping for some other things (which aren't on sale either). I don't get the hype.
>>11636541Think if you are a parent or have kids, esp little ones, to give shit to, you're golden. Mostly, for adult collectors, EH.
HLJ has a few alright bargains here and there. Grabbed a Hexa Gear Hidestorm for just under 3k yen and there's some Megami Device bits for half price. Not the worst prices.
I used a gift card and kohl’s cash for a Lego advent calendar and a Santa polybag and they handed me .97 overall not bad.
>>11636541Star Wars Black SeriesStar Wars TVC X WingI'm contemplating Mafex RobocopsNanmu Dinosaurs if they're on saleAnything I might find interesting on BBTS or amazon I guess.
Ended up buying nothing, even after getting three desperation 'flash' sale alerts from McFarlane.Cryptozoic and Culture Fly did both at least got me to look at their websites but they had nothing I wanted even if they had included it as a free bonus.
>>11636541I bought MOTU OriginsTrap Jaw on BBTS for $12, and a couple of Hasegawa vending machine model kits that were cheap on HLJ. That's about all I saw that interested me.
Batman Funko pop.
>>11636541>... granted, black fridays for the past 5 years have been generally waaaay less busy, but there's fewer toylines i buy at retail now, so i've continued my trend of buying toys on black fridays.Probably because stores were starting Black Friday earlier and earlier every year and even staying open on Thanksgiving in the US, which caused a lot of people to look at it in a negative light. But now that they push a lot of the sales online, "Black Friday" tends to last pretty much the whole month of November, so it thins out the crowds physically in stores for a day or two.At any rate, there have been some pretty good deals on LEGO sets, which I picked up maybe 5 or 6 sets. Some up to 50% off, and some were deals on got on LEGO's website. They were maybe only 20-30% off, but they're larger sets that don't often go on sale, and they ran their extra points campaign, so the savings ends up being probably another 10% off in points back.
>>11636735I talk about HLJs old sales like fucking woodstock. They just don't do it like that anymore. Used to get shit like hot toys or big ticket gunpla for 60-70% off. Then they just slowed down and for years it's only been stuff they can't move.
>>11638101Nah, stores did that shit in the early 10s too but didn't have such a negative result back then. The 20s have just been that shit. People just don't like leaving their houses anymore... or buying shit, given how poor sales have been for the past couple of years.
Still haven't bought anything specific but did get a retro toy from WalMart at retail when I ordered my vitamins and coffee for the free shipping.Who knew Walmart tried to dupe prime. Do they also have shitty video streaming shows no one watches?
