>>11637151>If you pull their combined shuttle mode in half, you can flip down a couple of pegs, allowing you to attach the front half onto a figure's arm as a blaster and the back half onto the figure's back as a jetpack (both are compatible with blast effects)Oh hell yeah that scratches a lot of Armada itches. Do they have actual pegs?
My Silver Rathalos/Liolaeus Prime showed up today. No need to go into full detail on him, since he's just a straight repaint of the normal red one I reviewed a little while back (meaning he has all the same issues - beast head and feet are small, Charge Blade is short, looks a bit lanky in robot mode, etc), so just some pics and a few comments. For those wondering why a silver repaint exists at all, in the Monster Hunter games, different variants ("subspecies") exist of most monsters; differences in color usually mean differences in abilities, attack patterns, and overall strength. For Rathalos, there are three different color variations (in the canon mainline games. Other, stronger versions exist, but they're in spin-off games of questionable canonicity). Red is the average, punching-bag variety (which was also the first 'Flagship' monster, hence why Rathalos is the franchise mascot), followed by the slightly stronger Azure Rathalos, and then the final Silver Rathalos, which is the most powerful canonical form to date. 'SilverLos' is usually a G-Rank hunt, so its attacks hit as hard as an Elder Dragon, its roar can stun you unless you have the max-grade level of the Earplugs ability equipped, it loves to stay airborn and out of reach, it can spam fireballs that often leave burning areas on the ground (and are usually 100% guaranteed to inflict the Burn status if you get hit with one), and it has scales so hard that they require the maximun Weapon Sharpness available (either Purple or White depending on the game) for your attacks to not bounce off of it (and dulls your weapons quickly regardless, meaning lots of time spent re-sharpening your blades between attacking and dodging). It also quickly develops an immunity to Flash Bombs (you can usually only flash it 3 times before it stops working). So yeah, despite just being a repaint, this version of Rath Prime is intended to be a much, much more dangerous dude than his previous release was.
>>11637159Back shot, showing off the lovely metallic silver plastic. It's hard to see, but it has little glittery metallic flakes in it; doesn't look like the swirly stuff that usually leads to the plastic crumbling, but only time will tell. Also, as seen in the previous pic, the silver chestplate from robot mode doesn't stand out quite so much on this version of the mold, which is nice.
>>11637160Purple energy blast/fireball and base stand courtesy of Nendroid Toothless. In the games, Silver Rathalos' fire is so hot that all of its attacks burn a purpleish-blue, so this worked out nicely.
>>11637162Robots in disguise 2015
>>11637164Last one, a comparison between both Rath Primes. No need to show off the Rathalos Gem Matrix, since it's painted exactly the same as the original release. I really like the gradient purple/blue on SilverLos' Hellsire Charge Blade (which isn't actually accurate, since the weapon in-game has the same yellow-orange blade that the normal Axelion Charge Blade wielded by the red Rathalos Prime has, but it's awesome anyway). If you absolutely had to pick only one version of this mold, I'd go with SilverLos - personally, I like the silver coloration a lot better, the overall color matching in Beast Mode works better than the normal variety (all the silvers and greys from robot mode blend in with his already sivler scales, while they stand out a bit on the red version), and, in terms of power scale, the silver one is intended to be the most badass incarnation of the species (in the acknowledged canon).
>>11637158Standard 5mm posts. A lot of the car Micromasters can be pegged onto larger figures in the same way, but we sadly never got one resembling Sparkplug.
>>11637162G2Radical 90s and edgy for the sake of edgy comics were pretty damn different from what came before.Machine wars could count too, after the success of beast wars hasbro kinda wanted to see if vehicles still worked>>11637168rid 2015 also counts
>>11637170NeatNot sure what I'd want a jetpack for with my seeker fixation but it's neat to know that you CAN actually do minicon stuff. Gotta look into that more
>>11637168>>11637174I'd say the string of side lines from the late 90s to early 00sAnimorphs, babby Go-bots and maybe Universe 1.0
>>11637180fuck it, throw in rid 2001 as well. Is it g1? is it a new continuity? is it beast wars? who knows.
>>11637170Which might be why we're getting that Powerlinx Red Alert Special Set that could come with other Autobot Mini-Cons for ones that are released (Longarm, Sparkplug, and Comettor considering they are planning on making Armada Jetfire for the second Commander of 2026; Swindle could be a part of it if they so choose since Armada Starscream is different from others).
>>11637149the low angle improves him tremendously
>>11637159this also improves how he looks via the photography
>>11637169should have been liolaeus megatron and galvatron as silver.then Rajang Primal
I had a dream last night that I was rummaging around through somebody else's garage opening up blue rubbermaid bins and found a bunch of G1/G2 stuff including pic related from my childhood. Also the Dinobots were Trypticon-sized with more chrome.
>>11637197>Rajang PrimalFuck, now I want this. Also, TM2 Megatron as Fatty.
>>11637182not rid 2001 becuase i liked it and gave me t ai (needs more porn)
>>11637186Do we know if Red Alert is coming with multiple Mini-Cons? Powerlinx Hot Shot only came with Jolt>>11637198Im kind of shocked Hasbro didn’t try updating some of these toys to help push the Micromasters more. That way you could sell them at a deluxe or voyager price, like the Modulator bases
So.... Did anyone brave the black Friday crowds to get their hands on the new Two Packs? Was expecting to just get Armada Wheel jack and Cosmos but when I saw that the fuckers were $15 a piece, I splurged on three more to get all of the Stunticons I never fucking saw at retail.
>>11637199fatty?
>>11637204Fatalis, the dragon shaped dragon in Monster Hunter
>>11637201>Im kind of shocked Hasbro didn’t try updating some of these toys to help push the Micromasters moreI would've bought 'em but idk how many other people would've.
>>11637203I am poor as fuuuuuck>>11637206ohhh it's a play on words. yes yes, definitely.
I ended up getting Drag Strip in 2023 when they last did these two packs but never freaking saw the rest of the Stunticons let alone Motormaster at retail. Sadly I had to get G2 Breakdown, but that's ok in that I've always head canon that Breakdown is the bad boy rebel of the Stunticons, so him having an off the wall paint job is him thumbing his nose at Motormaster and his bullying ways.Sadly I got stuck with one of three dud figures, the first appearance Bumblebee. I own Netflix Bumblebee so I don't have much need for the reissue/remakes of him for those that kissed out on him
>>11637204Fatalis/Mirabolis, the "Big bad" of the franchise, and harbinger of the apocalypse. In the old games, he was fairly...pear-shaped. MHW:I gave him a bit of a makeover, so now he looks less chubby. The nickname is also a play on his English name.
>>11637198I still own that one in perfect shape, also the Rocket Base.
>>11637211His model in the first game of the franchise, for comparison.
>>11637186>and Comettor considering they are planning on making Armada Jetfire for the second Commander of 2026; Swindle could be a part of it if they so choose since Armada Starscream is different from others).Any signs that ArmadaScream would be able to pair with a future Swindle? Like, any ports?
Is this the Saint Seiya thread?
>>11637170>Micromaster Combiners>Can't mix and match with the one other set we gotWhy was this allowed?
Third set. Not a fan of Knock Out but he came with Wildride, who had my favorite Stunticon car mode.
>>11637211huh, i never noticed. I was too busy getting instantly wiped during the only time I ever got to see him. they did a special high rank preview version because a lot of us fucking sucked ass at Tri and could NOT do master rank. or whatever rank it was where you go online.also that preview may not have happened, I might have looked him up on youtube, and THAT guy got instantly wiped. it's been a very long time since I played Tri. Thank god for Rise.
this >>11637211 looks significantly more chubby than this >>11637214 to me>>11637224imagine how cool the designer wished this ended up..
Finally we have my favorite Stunticon of all: the 'Con without a face Deadend! Sadly he's paired with the biggest dud of the batch: Solus Prime. Hate hate hate that Hasbro made these literal who's and took release slate space other more deserving characters deserved.
>>11637237Curious you say that because it's the literal whos that brought me into Hastak's line again.
>>11637213Lucky fuck, all that's left of mine is the blue part minus the cockpit
DINOBOTS, DESTROY DEVASTATOR!
>>11637244What da Snarl doin
>>11637203My Wal-mart had them in the system early so I bought Doublepunch/SS86 Bee on Wednesday and gave Bee to my brother
Cumformers
>>11637201They opted to make the Voyagers turn into bases instead and pushed hard the play pattern of using Fort Max and Trypticon as super bases instead, whole the Scout class were vehicles but only for Titan masters
>>11637245Snarl wasn't even there. This is false history
Hey, had a great idea, for Hearts of Steel Version of Browning, since the og version of him was based off the gun that started WW1, why not make the antiquated version of him based off the flintlock gun that killed Lincoln? Going with the theme of a way more antiquated gun than Megatron’s that killed somebody important is the idea behind this
>>11637197>Primal as RajangReally, he wouldn't even need to be tweaked all that much - just give him some horns (and figure out a way to stuff them into his chest in robot mode). They could even squeeze a second repaint out with his Super Saiyan enraged form to go with Galvatron Silver Rathalos.
>>11637244it's incredible how bad these look when they don't even combine
>>116372545mm posts for sure. that's acceptable for those, and it lets you represent breaking off a horn. there'd be spots for them on his shoulders
>>11637255I know these were kinda universally agreed upon to be bad, unposeable hollow messes but I honestly really like their big chunky dino modes.
>>11637257I'll give them this very weak complimentif these came out in the 80s, people would have shit themselves.
>>11637257They're okay for mini dinobots
>>11637262But for the scalper pricepoint of like $15-20 a bot, hell no
>>11637255>>11637257I'm mad they wasted such a cool idea as the dinobots combining in such a dogshit toyline like PotP
>>11637264that sure was a divisive line. people bring it up a LOT.
>>11637265I liked some figures like evolution Optimal Optimus and Hot Rod but then they made stuff like voyager Starscream...
>>11637245Raking Devstator's shin with his spines since Snarl's dinosaur mode is super limited and I couldn't think of anything else for him to do.>>11637249I know, but I don't have Slag (waiting for a rerelease at non-rape prices).
>>11637269I thought he was rubbing on his leg like a cat
>"Oh monkey's paw, I want updated armada mini-cons for generations figures..">*the monkey's paw curls...*>blokees releases blind boxed assembly mini-cons (fully transforming)
>>11637274Grok is this real
I know frame combiners are controversial but I'm really having fun with these.
>>11637284They just look so rigid. (Also if I wanted one I still couldn't afford it so I'm kinda glad I don't love them)
>>11637277i wish that explicitly 'mini' transformers would, more often, deliberately be chibi
>>11637290I have the exact opposite opinion. I want the minis to be as close to full-detail but shrunk down as possible. I have these Godzilla dioramas that're 2 inches tall and absolutely insanely detailed and that's my ideal. Granted they cost between a Commander and Titan class does, but still.
>>11637285>They just look so rigid. Not going to deny that, but they're still big toys that can bend backwards or stay on one leg easily, so that's good enough for me. I don't need these guys to be super nimble, they're giant robots after all.
>>11637203>>11637210>>11637210>>11637231Jealous as fuck. No Walmart were I live and the Target where I live at has had spotty as fuck distribution of Transformers since Legacy started, resulting in me never seeing the Stunticons period.
>>11637299Were the Stunticons really that hard to find? The only one I had trouble getting were Motormaster as my Wal-Mart never carried Commander Clas figures
>>11637304Drag Strip, Motormaster, and Dead End were easy to find. Wildride and Breakdown were hard to find, with Breakdown in particular being insanely hard to find and going for $100+.The G2 repaints of Breakdown and Dragstrip were Walmart exclusives but shelf warmed hard.
>>11637257I wish we had gotten a core class Devy
>>11637203Who the fuck is Armada Wheeljack? Doesn't look like Wheeljacks at all...
>>11637306If they were to do that, I’d prefer if they did it Sixbuilder style, that way you could get both out of the mold and it’d be a reverse of how Micromaster Devastator came to be.
>>11637308Short answer, he is called Wheeljack to preserve the name trademark Long answer: former Autobot who was abandoned to die in a battlefield retreat by Hotshot. The Decepticons took him prisoner but Megatron gave him the Tarn treatment and convinced him to switch sides and become a Decepticon. In the Dresmwave comic he remains a Decepticon through the Energon comic but on the cartoon, he has a change of heart and rejoins the Autobots then fucks off and vanished as he is never seen or mentioned again in Energon or Cybertron
>>11637308Imagine Sideswipe but pissed off at a Bumblebee-like,
>>11637315Also one of the few good characters from Armada, so good that they didn't use him in the sequel shows so that he didn't get raped or reformattrd into a shitty new body
>>11637312>>11637315It will always bother me that they called him Wheeljack because not only does he look like G1 Sideswipe, but he famously switches sides or, in other words, he “side swipes”. It doesn’t help that he eventually lead to all the issues with Energon Downshift, either
>>11637308>>11637318If it clears anything up at all, his Japanese name is Rampage
>>11637292well i meant more proportions than detail. There's certain proportion changes that, to me, sell the different sizes of robots better than just 'oh this guy is exactly the same blocky body as his friend, but three times as tall'i like seeing small heads on huge bots, big heads on small bots.
>>11637321I think the biggest takeaway from all of this is that the Unicron Trilogy sucked at names
>>11637305>Breakdown in particular being insanely hard to findI always find that funny because on my European country we get less than half the releases in stores if we're lucky but in my city several Breakdowns warmed shelves for months.
>>11637224Yes
>>11637249>>11637244I'm being gaslight!
>>11637244Holy shit the scale is so wrong.Devastator looks Warwick Davis sized. So essentially 1:1 scale
>runamuck and runabout complete set up on ebay>its an auction >34 hours left>already above $50
>>11637339Why so desperate for the pair?
>>11637341They're cool and the Runamuck reissue reignited my need for them and I am NOT immune to fomo
>>11637338>Holy shit the scale is so wrongThere's not that much of a difference when compared to the movie.
>>11637339I’ve been watching the same auction and debating if it’s worth it or not
>>11637245>>11637249>>11637336This is actually from the UK cut of the movie, where Slag had to be cut because of his name, so Snarl stepped up in his place
>Saturday walk aroundThe latest wave literally arrive last night- I saw same stores restocking when I was around here for dinner last night. But all they got are the new target master, film barricade, the new nemesis prime and those NFL crossover figures. I thought I would be seeing the new SoundwaveI only manged to get blastoff from another toy store that a bit away from the main shipping center.
>BlastoffI guess the minimal amount of paint does wonder to qc. You won't notice anything wrong or major from a distance away, But- The 2 I saw in shop got this scratch on the their upper near nose side of the left eye. Both in the same spot. And one of them the right eye is full of scratches on the silver. I found it laughable that even with minimum paint they still manage to screw up.
>>11637354Should have kept in box, would be worth more
>>11637351The thing with auctions is that they can just go off the rails. Picrel was below $15 when I placed the bid on him and I would've gone as high as like $30 but cmon I'm not going to pay triple digits for a scout class
>>11637356Oh yea I kept bidding on that to increase the price, now the other sucker has to pay up. It's always good to inflate the prices on eBay because it helps me sell the same items for just as much. :)
just ordered a discounted legacy tarn from amazon (and a bar of soap for a further discount) for a toal of 16€, wish me luck girlshope it'll be as cool and fun as i saw on transformation videos
>>11637361Just don't go mixing them up - while I'm sure the bar of soap would love sitting on your toy shelf, I don't think Tarn would appreciate the shower time with you all that much.
>>11637361>a bar of soap for a further discount>washing yourselfFucking normalfaggot.
>>11637294Yeah it's nice to have a combiner that can actually pose even if if like how CW did things better
>>11637200Her name's Ai. T-ai is the dub localization.
>>11637201>Im kind of shocked Hasbro didn’t try updating some of these toys to help push the Micromasters moreAnd shoehorn a janky robot mode into the mix that compromises all the modes?
>>11637379The first hentai I ever saw was of Ai on some transformers fansite
>>11637149>>11637189>tfw it looks good from this angleI'm so fucking tired, I don't want to buy this piece of shit
Guesses on how TT is going to pull off a new Sari toy? Have a non-transforming figure of her packed with animated Bulkhead a la Studio Series 86 Grimlock and Wheelie?
>>11637203I got the Nucleus/Sideburn pack because I like the rock people and I have all their other deluxes. He makes a good goon for my Nova Prime too, same colors. Like he's Nova's little acolyte.
Open, dammit, open!Prime, you said the Matrix would light our darkest hour...
>>11637456>dammitRobots can't 'damn' anything unless the concept of Robot Hell made it all the way to Cybertron.
>>11637306Core class devastator but matching Action Master colors and comes with Core Class Scorpulator
Behold the Combaticons team!Blast off is a lot better build than Vortex. All the limbs are strong and steady where as Vortex's knees can't hold the weight of the body. Though few complains. I wish they got purple plastic part for the "bridge" dome. You going to scratch that beautiful purple paint with play. The wings length should be longer along the fuselage. The width of the wings is actually okay but the length is a bit short. I understand why as-I don't know why they keep the front end of the wings on the torso instead of being one whole piece with rest of the wings. Yes it will look strange with the spikes of the wings poking out beyond the shin to the upper thigh but it is not like they get in the way with any movement range. With the way it is setup right now the torso looks a bit funky with the sides like a woman with a boobs so big that you can even see them from the back; that kind of silhouette. Also >Mitten handsNot sure how they would do this as the other possible position for the hole would be the peg/hole side for the nosecone8/10It is better than the CW/UW version?Idk like yes but like 8 vs 7? Just judging them by their bot and vehicle mode.
>>11637517>Behold the Combaticons team!TWO Reimus? How can any other team ever compete?>Blast off is a lot better build than Vortex. All the limbs are strong and steady where as Vortex's knees can't hold the weight of the body.My Vortex is perfectly fine. Something people should know about Transformers nowadays is that the joints can vary wildly from copy to copy. I had two Micronus, first one the armor legs were super floppy and second one are absolutely perfect, even tighter than normal.
Well, he somehow ended up going from Texas to Puerto Rico before getting to Michigan, but here he is. The best Tankor toy! But for real probably the best McDonalds Transformer I can think of, save maaaybe Panther? He is certainly a lot bigger, and surprisingly accurate.Postal service did a fuck8ng number on the box he was mailed in though.
>>11637339I've already accepted that I'll simply never have those two. I'd like to have them, but I'm over it.
>>11637540>the best McDonalds Transformer I can think of>He doesn't know about Under-3
>>11637495Robot Hell is very real and you WILL go there.
>>11637546I forgot about him! I didn't know he got a REAL figure though
>>11637456I like SS86 Magnus, but I'm fairly sure I've transformed him only once because I forgot how it goes at I'm too lazy to search the instructions
>>11637517I just want to see how Onslaught looks and works before I commit. Bruticus is probably my favourite Scramble City guy, but the current combiners have been kinda hit and miss

>>11637552reveal thursday
>>11637495And why would you think they have no concept of hell? They make repeated references to the afterlife (shown to actually exist in many continuities).
>>11637495>>11637579Have you never heard of the Pit? That's Cybertronian hell. It was first introduced in Beast Wars as the Inferno, but they obviously had to rename it when ant-boy was added to the cast.
>>11637546I'd love Leo Prime in these colors.
>>11637589A lot of TF fans are giga-autists and will never make the connection that the Pit is the same thing as hell unless it's explicitly said for them.
>>11637269Snarl as Slag's understudy
>>11637306
>>11637341who WOULD'NT want the complete pair
>>11637589It's the Cybertronian EQUIVALENT. Not a direct analog. Again, robots can't damn. And frankly, giving them more and more human traits as each series passes really dilutes the aesthetic of the whole thing.
>>11637673Humans don't have the authority to damn others either. It is a figure of speech.
>>11637201Red Alert is presumably coming with Longarm but hopefully they throw in some blast effects and extra weapons. There's supposedly a big Mini-Con set coming at some point next year, which should include some of the ones we're missing (and I imagine there'll be a Micronus Prime repaint in there too)
>>11637603>A lot of TF fans are giga-autistsYep, >>11637673 confirms that being true.
>>11637217No, there's no port where Swindle is supposed to plug in. You'd have to either drill it yourself or hope Starscream gets a rerun with a modified tail panel.

>>11637203I wish we got those packs over here. I'm still missing G1 Breakdown (and G2 Dragstrip).
>>11637210Make sure you shave down the tabs and internal bits around Breakdown's windscreen. They didn't bother switching to stronger plastic or fixing the tolerances so he's still prone to breaking. G1 Breakdown is getting rereleased early next year.
>>11637673>Again, robots can't damn.>"Damn you! Damn you to the Pit!"I don't see why you don't think that works. Also, Damning something doesn't really have anything to do with hell itself - to damn is to condemn, and you can damn anyone to anything regardless of your beliefs; people just go with 'damning to hell' because that's the worst thing most can think of.
>>11637231I like Knock-out, even if he looks nothing like his Prime model. Needs a better weapon though.
Really wish wild king got one more large release like World Dragnus. Optimus needs something special too, especially since all of Megatron energy beasts had extra parts to bulk him out... in addition to Dragnus who is pretty much a bundle of references to Megatrons past versions. What would be amazing though is if he got a last second trailer, or another autobot appears to give him a supermode that can further combine with his wild docked form.
>>11637237Solus Prime seems alright, apart from the large chunk of kibble hanging off her back and her alt mode looking too much like an Earth vehicle (not as bad as Alchemist though).
>>11637264If the SS86 Dinobots had been able to combine, I would have bought them immediately, instead of kicking myself for waiting for Swoop to get discounted.
>>11637269I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea to have Snarl's tail point directly downwards.
What are the most illusive figures you saw once in stores and never again?I've only seen SS86 Springer and Swoop once at Target when they had just released and have yet to see them in person ever again. I found SS86 Ratchet in Walmart around two years ago and thankfully bought him then and there. If it weren't for that I wouldn't have seen another Ratchet to this day.
>>11637665Can I get the opposite of this? SS86 Devastator in RotF colours
>>11637203Aww man I want Wheejack but being Yuuro sucks
>>11637713I saw Legacy G1 Breakdown on shelves for about a month before I got back into Transformers, then he was gone forever.
>>11637707Yeah, I'm still confused about that one. It's a stegosaurus' primary weapon, but not only is it inflexible, it's angled in an unnatural position an actual stego would never hold it in.
>>11637678>>11637682>>11637698It's the Cybertronian equivalent to cultural appropriation. Robots should stay robots through and through -- logic with just a *hint* of curiosity. I'm sorry you guys don't see it that way, but maybe that's why crap like IDW and Skybound sell. You want some gay shapeshifting humanoid drama rather than fantastical science fiction. And fuck Beast Wars. They can't even stay consistent with their writing halfway into a season let alone the whole series. >"Look! The dumb asshole brute is quoting Shakespeare!">"Hey Dan, check it out. >>11637754It really is a nice deco. I know panel lining isn't that technically impressive, but given how rare it is in TF, it does make it stand out. I hope we get a SS86 Megatron to go along with it.

>>11637748mistransformed p'raps?
>>11637754My autism won’t allow me to get two figures of the same character, even if they are different molds, so I got the Gen Selects toy deco instead for Galvatron II. Ironically they ended up releasing Straxus as a retool, so the point was moot
I came into this thread to see if someone said something about mah boi Tarantulas
Sandstorm is growing on me after months of letting him gather dust. I think I just like his dumb little cage.
>>11637774I can only do that if I know nothing about the characterfor example, airazor from RotB. I had no problem getting both of them, since they not only don't look like the same character, one looks like a man. I already have REAL airazor (and while we're at it, the original toy), so to me, this was just two fun OCs.
>>11637759I don't know what sezzle is but alright, sounds like a plan.
Does Six-Gun make a decent enough jetpack for Super Armada Optimus using all its parts? I really don't want to dig out Six-Gun

>>11637768I couldn't help myself. I was feasting after they took the cultural appropriation bit.
>>11637833Im bored now. Let's talk about thrilling 30 Galvatron's dog mode.
>>11637783I’m fine with different continuity versions of the same character, like I have both Animated Optimus and Star Convoy, but because I have Star Convoy I didn’t get SS86 Prime. If they make a new Powermaster Prime I’m just going to say he’s Ginrai instead
>>11637782I like having non-weapon accessories like that but I wish they hadn't integrated the cage into the dune buggy mode. The back half is a mess because of the space it takes up.
>>11637544You're a stronger man than me
>>11637420>SS86 Galvatron here has one of their faction symbols.See the issue is that SS86 Galva is almost twice the size of the KOScream I posted and the decal on him already looks muddy at that size. The Ones for Starscreams wings would be like a quarter of that size.
>>11637835>"N-no! Let me have the last word!"You're not autistic; you're retarded.

>>11637916No yeah, I get that. I just mean that since the Leader-Class-chest-size one looks a bit muddy I feel like the Core-Class-wing-size one would be a blob
>Big Convoy is the same size as Lio ConvoyThis makes me sad
>>11637918Looks fine to me.
>>11637919Why? Big Convoy is the same size as Lio Convoy in the anime, or smaller if you go by toy size. You want him smaller?
>>11637920These all look fine, yeah. Maybe it's the pic then
>>11637923I wanted him bigger. Didn't know they were the same size in the show, always thought Big Convoy was well, bigger.
>>11637925Oh it's definitely my shit ass pic lol
>>11637928You get what I mean though right, just side-by-side the right one looks a lot muddier
>>11637919>Big Convoy is the same size as Lio ConvoyWrong, it's a bit taller. >>11637923>Big Convoy is the same size as Lio Convoy in the animeWrong, he's a bit taller. The new toys are pretty accurate to pick related.
>>11637932Ah well, that makes me feel better desu! I assume that means they scale that well with Magmatron?
>>11637935Surprisingly enough, they do. Magmatron is really big in the anime.
>>11637932>Wrong, he's a bit taller.Not according to your image he's not.
>>11637932>>11637943I'm just kidding btw obviously they're standing on a slight incline. The new toys are scaled properly.
>>11637715there was this for CW
>>11637952Huh, that's probably my favorite Devy. I know that he's toon accurate but I always thought he was a bit TOO unifomally green.
>>11637860>>11637881No juice I take it? Man you'll have to find some way to relax. Maybe you should talk about tf toys instead
>>11637952This sucks.
>>11637687Kek, over the years I have seen some TF fans cry about characters literally "flying like Superman" in some continuities. So to recap, they can accept that giant alien robots:A: EXISTB: can transformC: can literally shunt or gain body mass and weapons from an easily accessible pocket dimension...and this is all totally fine. And yet, them flying in robot mode (which is easily explained by anti-grav or repulsor tech, more easily than we can for Superman in fact) is suddenly a bridge too far for them.
>>11637952I wonder how summin like this'd look on SS86, with the hips being a separate trailer for Long Haul. Would they be the same colors as him, or something else?
>>11637963This bothered me during explicitly week one of watching because I remember thinking it made guys like Starscream obsolete. But even G1 with its extreme rudimentary-ness makes it super clear that he's 100x more powerful in the air than any of the flying autobots.
>>11637735>Robots should stay robots through and throughSays who? They were never "just" robots. Right from the beginning, the whole hook was that they were intelligent beings who could feel and think (and I'm directly quoting the narrator from the pilot G1 episode here), who had a civilization, and a range of personality types and intellects as diverse as what we see in real life humans. You make them sound like some "danger Will Robinson!" contraptions just waving their arms around and occasionally turning into stuff.>You want some gay shapeshifting humanoid drama rather than fantastical science fiction. There's no contradiction there, and TF has always been gay shapeshifting humanoid drama.
>>11637919he's like half a head taller but yeah with his proportions, he looks way out of scale.>>11637932exactly. and keep in mind, this is TILTED. so if we actually...... no, shit. that's still half a head taller. huh.
>>11637969Man coming in from the Godzilla community to the TF one is truly incredible because this is basically word-for-word the same shit that happens over there.
>>11637969i actually really loved how Beast Wars guys (my first real introduction to transformers) had their human-speed thoughts AND onboard computers that could immediately detect and process things at robot speeds. Though over time, it seemed funny they would ever have to tap buttons on themselves. or on computers, for that matter, they ought to be able to jack in, which they did once in a while. course now we have wireless everything, but... it works, it makes them feel like regular people, while at the same time, showing how they are superior (we should BE so lucky as to have an autonomic nervous system that goes 'stasis lock imminent' instead of us just passing out)
>>11637972My best friend is a huge Godzilla fan and we constantly joke how similar both franchises and their fans tend to be
>>11637774>My autism won’t allow me to get two figures of the same characterI used to be this way too until I somehow ended up with the original 86, yellow, and blue Grimlocks.I have 86 and Legacy United Rumble too, but that one's easier to make up headcanon to explain. The darker one is "Fumble", a third cassette bro and different guy entirely.I've thought about selling my 86 since I see he goes for a lot, but I can never pick a favorite between the Rumbles.
>>11637974I mean that's fair. Kaiju movies are walking contradictions. Serious filmmakers trying to create genuine horror and awe, while studios want undercranking and goofy comedy for little kids because their moms drank too much sake while pregnant.Plus designs and concepts that were AMAZING to the first-three-quarters-of-the-20th-century mindset, but unsophisticated to the palate of a post-Alien world. That kind of conflict is inevitabru.
>>11637752Snarl IS in the movie, he just disappears when an action scene is occurring. He's even in robot mode with the rest of the dinobots in one scene
>>11637979And also newfags into Godzilla love to complain about human characters when, in fact, they have always been around. They just used to be better
>>11637963They actually fly like this in the diaclone commercials too for some reason so it's not even cheap animators fault really
>>11637985When I watched a whole bunch of Godzilla movies, the takeaway I had was that like half of them were a movie about a different subject that just had Godzilla show up.
>>11637550This is when I gave up on Botcon. The exclusives just got way too weird.
>>11637981>he just disappears when an action scene is occurring. The guy just noticed all the deaths of first season characters and didn't want to risk it. He's not as stupid as he appears.
>>11637952Wow this fucks
>>11637989>half of them were a movie about a different subject that just had Godzilla show upAs someone who's seen all of them more than once: That's a pretty fair assessment. I think the main notable thing that people forget is that a lot of the Showa-era characters are super charming, even if they're not very deep characters.
Fucking insane to me Jet Jaguar has only ever been in one godzilla movie.Like what the fuck
>>11637985I'm a newfag godzilla fan and I thought singular point was going to be shif because everyone was shitting on it then I saw it and it was amazing and realized people are retarded. Wait no I watched the old cartoon from the 90sMan I wish the Godzilla transformers weren't shitty repaints.
>>11637997He did get his own anime made by an insane scifi author which was great. There's even a Jet Jaguar 3rd party toy based on it.
>>11637998>Man I wish the Godzilla transformers weren't shitty repaints. That's mostly why I haven't gotten them. If I run across one in the wild I'll probably cave, but until then I'm okay. Honestly I want them for the novelty mmore than anything, but I know that's how they get you.
>>11637985desu i like newer (and keep in mind i haven't seen any since the first del toro godzilla) ones have better human stuff, it's just that even back then, we were sick of how much time it took up and how dry it was.. now they've made it slightly less dry but it feels twice as superfluous.
>>11637997he doesn't exactly fit...you can put godzilla-type kaiju into any ultraman kinda hero thing, but putting a hero guy into godzilla feels odd.>>11637998it was from 2000, wunnit? 99 at the latest. i hate that art style but I have to admit the studio worked hard and got creative with monsters.
>>11637997>Fucking insane to me Jet Jaguar has only ever been in one godzilla movie.Well he was kinda just made to cash in on the Tokusatsu sentai hype (and was originally the result of a fan contest but got down-designed for that same reason) so it makes sense that Godzilla didn't wanna do too much of that
>>11638008He's beautiful
>>11637999Are you talking about singular point?>>11638005>he doesn't exactly fit...I disagree considering they made Mechagodzilla a hero/a robot humans could pilot It could work if they wanted it too. But I understand yeah, ultraman is already a thing for that. >>11638008Yeah I understand that. Still I would assume he would show up more then just once Also that design looks sick
>>11638000>but until then I'm okay. Honestly I want them for the novelty mmore than anything, but I know that's how they get you.If you want the novelty of a Godzilla transformer try to find an old Gigastorm from BWII. It's basically Godzilla. There was a maser tank in energon too
>>11638017yeah but mechagodzilla is what happens when you take hero toku sensibilities and FIT IT into the kaiju motif. that's why he's a mecha godzilla. just saying, if Jet Jaguar had been an actual like, jaguarman? or if his backstory had been that he was engineered by scientists to fight Godzilla, and maybe one of the engineers is a henshin fan so he styled the creature like this? I'd be okay with it. But instead he's- hang on, I just realized I'm just ASSUMING he's an alien or a human with a magic stone or something...... oh! he's a robot, built by a scientist to fight kaiju. Yeah okay, he's fine
>>11638017>Still I would assume he would show up more then just onceNot to turn this into a Goji thread but tell that to Hedorah and Destoroyah and Gigan who all have as many or fewer appearances than JJ and are infinitely more cool (I think)>Also that design looks sickI think it's a shame he was redesigned, but I also get it. Has to suck to be the kid who did the drawing though.
>>11638021Hedorah and Destoroyah have rather specific existences.
>>11638023yeahhh those are a bit harder to bring back. you'd expect the new ones to merely be named after the old ones
>>11638018>If you want the novelty of a Godzilla transformer try to find an old Gigastorm from BWII.I appreciate the shout but the fact that it IS Godzilla is the appeal to me. Grimlock also looks reasonably like Godzilla and does nothing for me in that regard.>>11638023That's fair but it's not like they can't just create those circumstances
>>11638018>GigastormOr, you know, you could just grab that new Generations Selects Trypticon that came out recently. Same exact toy, but with a different head cannon and a slightly different color scheme, for less money.
>>11638042>$330Why in the fuck would I buy this over the Megatron Godzilla that actually has the license and is a third of the price
>>11637969Are you talking about Marvel or Sunbow? Because I'm on the /toy/ board discussing G1 toy lore. That's gotta be overly embarrassing for you. Have you had any juice lately? You should sip some and relax.
>>11637952Much better.
>>11637999He looks sick, I can't wait.Pic kind of related because I'm getting upload failed every time I try to upload a real picture of Ironstrike Jet Defender.
>>11638023>>11638024It's funny you point out how very specific those monsters are, and yet they keep showing up in the comics (so does Space Godzilla) almost entirely divorced from their original origins. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Like I can just accept Destroyah as a big spooky monster without worrying about its connection to the Oxygen Destroyer, and Hedorah is a pollution monster, maybe that's flexible I guess, but Spacegodzilla is Godzilla with space crystals, that feels like it begs SOME kind of explanation.Lucky that Transformers has such a wealth of characters to draw from where that problem is more manageable. Heck, sometimes not cooking up a new background and just not elaborating at all works for the BEST.
>>11638069You might need to compress your image
>>11638069badass>>11638073yeah you'd expect HOMAGES rather than bringbacks.
>>11638074It was a webp saved as a jpeg. Hopefully this fixed it.
>>11637965the separate trailer would be Overload's colors
>>11638047>Why in the fuck would I buy this over the Megatron Godzilla that actually has the license and is a third of the priceBecause Godzilla Megatron is shit at what he's supposed to be, a Godzilla reference. It's just Grimlock in other colors, Trypticon actually looks like a mechanical kaiju and is more reminiscent of Godzilla than that fat 60s T-Rex painted black. But if you care more about a toy with a badly used license than having the actual Transformers Godzilla reference without license, go ahead and buy that one.
>>11638094>But if you care more about a toy with a badly used license than having the actual Transformers Godzilla reference without license, go ahead and buy that one.My whole dilemma is that I wanna get it purely because of the novelty of the crossover.
>>11638096If you're in that state of mind, anon, then much like that Jet Jaguar set, there's a 3P upgrade kit being made that also looks pretty sick to make the Mega-zilla look a lot better.I'd say at that point your dilemma is whether you're okay with giving Takara Tomy money for such substandard work that you need to buy extra bells and whistles to make it worth it.
>>11638102Yeah, I saw this kit, I really like it. The thing then becomes whether I wanna spend like $120 on the guy. I'd definitely pay $65 for the stock one, unsure if I'd pay $120 for the "perfect" one. Dunno if that makes sense.
>>11638102can still transform with all dat, right?
>>11638102NTA, but this kit is the only reason I bothered grabbing MegaZilla in the first place. We'll see if it looks as good in-hand as it does in the pics - I know it's going to be doing a lot of partsforming thanks to those back fins getting in the way of his transformation, but I'm willing to live with it so long as his Godzilla mode actually resembles Godzilla.
>>11638109Yes, but it has to partsform. Specifically, while most of that can stay in place without any issue, the tail and back plates need to come off. They end up forming a whip and shield to make up for it.
>>11638042>>11638026>>11638018I wish they would do a proper Gigastorm revamp where he turns into a tank for his alt instead of a space ship, due to Megastorm being a tank. Also would likely help differentiate his dinosaur mode more from Trypticon and go even further into bizarro kaiju
>>11637998Speaking of Singular Point, when will there be a season 2? Its been forever Toho give it to us
>local reseller already selling split up 2 packs for $15 per figureI hate it here
>>11638113acceptable. weapons can partsform.though tails make pretty lousy whips, but under the circumstances.. I mean at least it has Dragon Caesar's drill tip. that was inspired.
>>11638102That is how the thing should have looked from the start. At the very least it needed a new head sculpt.
>>11638121I cant imagine they felt that was profitable. Like Hasbro's way too cheapo now, but this is a tie-in thing so they have to share the profits already.. I forget, how much did they charge for this voyager
>>11638117There won't be, a new Godzilla anime was announced today that's even less in the normal tone for the series than Singular Point was.
>>11638129Fuck
>>11638130Same studio tooSo double no way
>>11638129Kind of odd, considering they went to the trouble of putting Singular Point in SRW and everything.
I can't believe we haven't had a Optimus Prime Hess Truck yet. You'd think someone would've approached someone about the idea by now.
>>11638129was Singular Point the one where he's a fucking tree
>>11638146No that was Godzilla Earth.
>>11638124>voyagerIt's a leader. And they heavily remolded some figures to turn them into crossover toys, there's even some that are original molds. With Grimzilla they just went for a quick cash grab in the laziest way possible.
>>11638158an 8 inch tall leader? okay. so that was even harder to get people to swallow if they had to raise the price.

>>11638077I require this
>>11638137Damnit, I liked Singular PointFuck cliffhangers
>>11638161Correct

>>11638158most modern 'collaborative' toys are new molds actually, only street fighter, tonka, back to the future, Jurassic Park, universal monsters and j balvin got retools.
>>11638161These days I'm concerned about remembering which Autobot cassette is the fag (is it the black one?)
>>11638171yeahrewind is the only cassette of blasters anyone cares aboutsteeljaw got his name stolen by a more interesting decepticon ramhorn.. exists.eject doesn't even appear in anythingslamdance's best figure isn't even a combining cassette it's a fucking flywheels repaint
>>11638171In that one comic, yes.
>>11638176I hate to say it but IDW can be funny sometimes
>>11638170>universal monstersAre these any good? I always thought they looked cool but the price is pretty steep, especially considering you'd want one in-box for all the flair.
>>11638161Unironically the correct option. The only reason some people believe FirRib is because of the cartoon, which everyone acknowledges was an error. >>11638170Naruto also got a retool. I'm still convinced that Gamakichi was a pre-tool of a Core Spittor/Diver we never got>>11638171Yep, Rewind is the gay one
>>11638179I don't own them so
>>11638058>if I keep repeating my unfunny "juice" bit, people will think I'm totally cool and above it all despite me unleashing this autism storm in the first place!
>>11638182maybe you should sit back and have a Dr. Pepper instead of juice.
>>11638175I feel like Soundwave's early cassettes stole all the relevancy from all of the later ones, both Autobot and Decepticon. Ratbat is the one exception. Nobody ever wants to use Overkill or Flip Sides or Stripes, etc. >>11638177I have a love hate relationship with IDW because I like a lot of the characters' personalities but the stories and universe tend to turn me off of reading more>>11638179Draculus is pretty cool, but Frankentron is pretty lackluster, which sucks because Frankenstein is my favorite Universal monster
>>11638171If it's any consolation, he's not a good person, and his original bio and personality is pretty fun.>>11638175Steeljaw's pretty reliable but Ramhorn's very endearing as well. Eject loves sports>Steeljawhttps://files.catbox.moe/6rknnv.jpg>Ejecthttps://files.catbox.moe/ubl3ao.jpg>Ramhornhttps://files.catbox.moe/nz9567.jpg
>>11638185>Ramhorn's very endearing as wellFUCK, turns out it's specifically the DW bio
>>11638184>Draculus is pretty cool, but Frankentron is pretty lackluster, which sucks because Frankenstein is my favorite Universal monsterI'm way more of a Dracula (well, vampires, really) guy. I was mostly concerned about the cloth cape, it looks pretty... Tacky? Frankentron's shoulder gun is sick but that's probably my favorite thing on any Transformer
>>11638179I don't agree with the other anon, I really like Frankentron. Granted, I don't have the other bot the mold is taken from, but he's a solid dude. There was a 3p upgrade kit for him that fills his gaps and give him a cable connector from his back to his gun which is cool. But mostly he just transforms pretty smoothly and he's well constructed. It's not a knock out of the park but I'm glad I got him.Never got to get Dracula though, shame.
>>11638187I have a soft spot for cloth capes on figures, but I can understand why someone doesn’t. I don’t think it ruins the figure though>>11638189I admit that my problem is less with the figure itself and more the missed potential. Frankenstein is a massive monster and he gets stuck with a Deluxe Class. At least give him a Voyager so he’s giant compared to Dracula or something
>>11638183God bless.
>>11638192>I have a soft spot for cloth capes on figures, but I can understand why someone doesn’t.I personally much prefer stylized rigid capes like CrownScream has
>>11638192draculus should get a new figure that functions as a weaponizer with multiple limb options
>>11638185One of my favorite G1 bios is Prowl's because it just sounds like he’s autistic, which I relate to. It’s a shame that every adaptation of G1 feels the need to turn him into a bit of a dick, especially IDW
>>11638197Kek that's bar for bar just asperger'sAnd I thought all cops were bad
>>11638170JP got both! that was neat.>>11638171>>11638176it'd suck to be the only fag cassette. Nobody to jam the pencil in your sprocket and reel your tape back in.
>>11638195i prefer microfiber cloth so it drapes properly.if there's any stiffness whatsoever in your figure's cape, if it's capable (heh) of standing up on its own when roughly folded or rolled into a cylinder, or if it's, say, a tunic, and you can take it and sit it on its hem and it only collapses a little... you picked the wrong fabric, unless your character is meant to have borrowed sailcloth or a canvas drape, or a fucking blanket to make clothes out of.
>>11638197sounds more like he has what Monk and House have
>>11638209Eh, he’ll be fine, Stylor's close enough in size to make it work
>>11638213That makes sense given people like to headcanon that Monk and House have autism as well
>>11638218yeah yeah and sherlock holmes and einstein. that kinda thing is at least cohesively a thing, but I don't see how it relates to TRAINS
>>11638218Isn't Monk's whole thing that he literally is neurodivergent? Like they call it "ocd" but it's clearly something more than that.
>>11638220his main thing is OCDthe purpose of both House and Monk is "Sherlock Holmes is this amazing fictional character with eidetic memory, who can see a split second of something and know everything about it, and make connections nobody else can, instantly... what would it be fuckin' LIKE to be like that? Imagine how irritated you'd be by everyone and everything around you, with information essentially turned up to max brightness/volume?"as far as I know, that has nowt to do with autism which is more like having trouble processing normal amounts of input.
>>11638219>doesn’t see the correlation in between trains and autismAnon…
>>11638219Well, autism is a spectrum after all and it tends to affect people a bit differently. The obsessions or “special interest” such as trains or Transformers tends to come from a want to learn and understand things that are somewhat logical and interesting to explore. Transformers has it on two fronts, as not only is the lore very vast and interesting to study, but the toys themselves are all essentially puzzles to be figured out. >>11638220Yeah, I think if Monk had been made today, he would have been autistic, but at the time autism wasn’t as widely understood so they went with a different disorder that seemed close enough to what they needed
>>11638120Well, it's either a whip, a sword, or some kind of lance. You decide.
>>11638179I love them both - just wish we'd gotten at least one more monster to go with them. Can't really do the Monster Mash with just two monsters, y'know?
>>11638234Larrybot didn't pass a focus group and nothing recent suits a mummy or fishman.
>>11638234>>11638235Not getting a Werewolf that has a wolf alt mode feels like a huge missed opportunity, especially since they had the Weirdwolf mold still around
>>11638234Pretend the Invisible Man is among them, just leave an open space on their shelf.
>>11638234>he doesn't have the invisible manEveryone point and laugh
>>11638234Mummy, Wolfman and Creature from the black lagoon are easy retools.
>>11638239>implying it wouldn't be clear plastic Mirage
>>11638235>nothing recent suits a mummyIt's been brought up a few times since Draculus was first revealed here that an SS86 Scourge retool could make a decent Mummy - cover the robot mode in bandages, and redeco the shell parts of his alt mode so he turns into a flying sarcophagus, and boom! Mummy transformer. Iguanus' robot mode kinda-sorta has the silhouette to make a decent start for a Creature from the Black Lagoon, though I have no idea what kind of relevant alt mode you could finagle out of a motorcycle.

>>11638175Rewind being a faggot is better than his original gimmicky personality of constantly talking like an idiot spewing trivia rather than talking normally. But it also backfired on him, as Hasbro seems to refuse to make new figures of him, as they keep pushing the non-faggot humanoid cassette Eject instead in terms of reissues and pack ins with Blaster.Ramhorn got a Titans Return figure plus for some strange reason got reissued alongside Bombshell in the G1 Vintage line even though none of the other Insecticons had a pack in Autobot cassette.
so are any of the Stunticon limb bots worth a damn as stand-alone toys? not interested in Menasor especially since Motormaster is now a $250-300 figure these days.
>>11638257Probably wont use the Mirage mold, Refractor makes more sense to me with the clear plastic.
>>11638307They are decent figures. Only problem is that, historically Hasbro has cheaped out on giving them all unique molds. During Combiner Wars, Dragstrip was a clear pre-mold for Mirage and they infamously used the same mold for Dead End and Wild Ride, with the only change being Wild Ride having a new head. For Legacy, Breakdown suffered from being the token retool of the group, being a retool of Wildride. Of the four, Dead End and Wildride are my favorites. But all four make excellent goons for Galvatron.
>>11638307At that point just get the box set on Pulse.
>>11638304Rewind just got a new toy as a redeco of Eject with Legacy Evolution Twincast. On a semi-related note, it’s always bothered me that Hasbro didn’t rename him Twinblast to keep the meaning behind his name>>11638307Yeah, they’re about the bog standard deluxe class figure. I have Shadowstrip and G2 Breakdown right now and they’re pretty solid without their main gimmick
>>11638314The version of Rewind with Twincast is sadly fucking made with transulcent plastic making him ugly as fuck. And for the longest time, Hasbro always "forgot" the faggot cassette whenever they did a Blaster box set and continues to use Steeljaw as the modern pack-in cassette for G1 Blaster rather than the one Cassette everyone knows about IE Rewind.
>>11638282>they've got some other thingWhat they have is conditioning. They're PROGRAMMED to be that way. Everything they've interacted with from the moment they were born has turned them into what you're seeing - unlike us, they grew up with the Internet in the palm of their hand, and spent their infancy and childhood being "baby-sat" by YouTube and Tik-Tok. They've been trained to have zero attention span, to get all of their opinions from strangers on the Internet, to only interact with others online, and to believe and obey whatever an authority figure tells them to do. They're incapable of dealing with real people in-person and have no idea how to form a coherent thought on their own, because that's how they've been raised.

Steeljaw and Ramhorn were always the coolest ones anyway...Eject and Rewind were just little guys who didn't even have cool powers and fun personalities like Rumble and Frenzy (well Eject actually did according to his bio, he's a sports nut but never got to show it in anything). So for me they had a hard time standing out against the animals.

Owing to his not having any in the Marvel comic, and having a whole season without them in the cartoon.

>>11638534Despite having seen the movie many times, I always get scared that Rumble is going to smash Perceptor's skull in during that scene because of how brutal the shuttle massacre is.
>>11638179Draculus is pretty good but he's a retool of a Titans Return figure (Mindwipe), so articulation is a little limited and the robot mode head hangs off the back of the bat, instead of it being a removable Headmaster.Frankentron is a retool of Siege Impactor, so he's a fine figure if you can ignore or buy fillers for all of the hollow areas. The biggest problem with Frankentron is that they redesigned the hands but didn't give him any wrist rotation, meaning his hands are stuck in the wrong orientation to hold things (unless you want him to hold up Cybertronian 7/11s gangsta style). They also changed the reverse side of that hand piece, so you can't attach Impactor's harpoon or a blast effect to it.

>>11638333I want to get the opaque Eject but I have no interest in the opaque chest Blaster.

>>11638368It's a shame Energon is hated. I love the designs in that season. At least mainline TF One Sentinel Prime appears to be a pretool for Energon Megatron, so the combining Autobots aren't impossible (Earthspark had a very similar gimmick). I just hope they bump him up a size class or two because a deluxe would look ridiculous next to Optimus Prime.
>>11638534I don't know why they bothered redesigning Perceptor's back if they weren't going to redo his forearms and wrists as well.
Pretty good haul today. Grabbed one of every set they had left, minus the Wildrider/Knock-Out one since I don't really care for either of those guys. >>11638712I agree... When the piece ripped off sucks as a weapon. If the piece that's been ripped off looks like a sword (not a club), or it flips to reveal a blaster (like Beast Wars Iguanus), then it's good. If its just a piece that they can hold and it looks like nothing, what's the fucking point?
>>11638837oh i'm with you on that, but that's a weapon issue, not a partsforming issueit should be the fucking law that your detached body part has to transform a little.
>>11638785>beast wars dinobot would be one to bring upAbout 99% of the Beast Wars toys would be applicable here. Wolfang's tail gun and back shield, Razorbeast's mane gun, Waspinator's, Tarantulas', and Blackarachnia's abdomen guns (with wing/leg missiles), Cheetor's and Tigatron's gut guns and ass cannons, Inferno's mandible gun, Skorponok's Cyberbee/claw and Polarclaw's Cyberbat/arm, Iguanus' and Gator Megatron's tail guns, TM Rattrap's, Cheetor's, and Megatron's tail weapons, and many, many more.On that note, go G1 Soundwave's battery guns and cassettes count as partsforming? Or G1 Megatron's stock and barrel extension? What about every Combiner in history, like Devastator or Superion?
>>11638845Aren't some of those internal organs that aren't visible in beast mode from the intended top view?
>>11638847Not the ones listed, no. Even Cheetor's gut gun is a piece visible in beast mode - it makes up his entire chest and belly. The spiders' weapons are the center of their abdomens, Wolfang's shield is his entire back, Razorbeast's gun makes up the back of his skull, etc. Everything on that list is visible in Beast Mode, and noticable if it's lost.
>>11638845>waspinator's, tarantulas's, and blackarachnia'sehhhh the entire abdomen doesn't come off and become the weapon, so you're right about partsforming weapons, but I think the kinds of people who would dislike partsforming weapons do not count 'weapons who are sheathed and totally concealed in the altmode'. same for the gut guns, since that's only a part of the abdomen (well actually mostly the chest), though the tail gun does still count although it removes more than just the tail.>cyberbee and cyberbatthere's no way anyone considers those partsforming, that's just a detachable drone. that'd be like calling Soundwave's cassettes partforming.oh, you went into that. okay. I should read the entire post first
>>11638852wait IS that what these upsettios have an issue with? the altmode being incomplete without the weapon? because if that's their major gripe, then yeah all of your examples count, buuut that'd also be a really weirdly specific thing to have a problem with
>>11638869>wait IS that what these upsettios have an issue with?I mean, what else would the issue be? The only reason anyone would have an issue with partsforming would be because losing a piece would mean an incomplete mode. If you count Headmasters as partsformers, for example, losing the little dude means you'll have a permanently decapitated robot mode.Going back to what started this discussion - the MegaZilla upgrade kit - the partsforming is unavoidable because Takara didn't bother to do any retooling other than the new robot head, and the SS86 Grimlock mold doesn't have a ton of 5mm ports to work with; literally anything you did to make it actually look like Godzilla would require making things fit in places that would clash with the transformation if left in place permanently. It's unfortunate, but at least A) they become weapons instead of just useless hunks of plastic you have to set aside every time you transform him and B) they kinda-sorta transform, too - the back plates need to combine and a handle flips down to turn them into the shield. The tail lance doesn't really do much, but it's really no worse than TM Megatron's weapon, so...it's acceptable enough.
>>11638880I thought the issue was that the weapon is clearly and obviously a body part, and not a weapon.the reverse issue, as it were, of when someone has what is obviously a sword for a tail, that looks ridiculous as a tail
>>11638845Some of those don't even come off for robot mode unless you take it off to become the weapon to begin with.

>>11638660>supposedlyWhat do they mean 'supposedly'? Energon Megatron/Galvatron is a great homage to the original G1 Galvatron. The design literally lifts off many aspects of the original G1 Galvatron and re-contextualizes them to account for the fact Megatron's new body was metamorphosed from his old Armada body that practically became a chrysalis as part of his reformatting. He still has the Arm Cannon and the abs on his stomach, not to mention the shoulder cannons being 1/1 the orignal G1 Galvatron's Arm Cannon but placed there because that's where his old Armada's body tank tread shoulders were.
>>11638938I’m guessing a few months at most given how close they are to releasing>>11638973I think the supposedly is pointing out that it’s funny that they were nostalgic for a franchise that was closer in time to them than Energon is to us

>>11638984I think a lot of people would take issue that the leader of the Shattered Glass Decepticons is a core class so he would be small while everyone else is much bigger than him. Plus I don't think Hasbro really cares about using the right molds for Shattered Glass to make them accurate to the original FunPub toys, they were only in it for the spirit, the idea of an Evil Autobot faction and a Good Decepticon faction so using the Siege molds is probably satisfactory enough for them to leave it at that.
>>11638988>I think a lot of people would take issue that the leader of the Shattered Glass Decepticons is a core classThey already did a Voyager-sized SG Megatron that scales with the other characters, so having a Core-sized version of him shouldn't upset anyone; I mean, they did a few Core G1 Megatrons and Optimus in that scale, so having the same character done smaller is hardly an issue. Again, the point was to do him in his correct body this time now that the mold for it existed - but just like with SG Starscream, they missed an opportunity for easy money.
>>11638998i have Blokees of this toyhad no idea who was that and why Megatron is the good guy now
>>11639001It's the mirror world Megatron.
>>11638713>>11638719Kek, I was going for snapshot moments from the battle and that was supposed to be the scene where they launch the missile (that ends up not doing shit) at Devastator. It does look like they're all standing around and bitching about how bad the noise pollution in Autobot City has gotten though.
I had a fun idea about Dinoking. So a lot of the Japanese combiners have the theme of having a royal title in their name, like Road Caesar or Liokaiser. The one issue is that King Poseidon and Dinoking share the same title, which no other combiner does. Since we already have Caesar and Kaiser, there could be a Tsar, which would lead the name…Dinotsar, which also works as a pun
Can i get a size comparison between Dinoking and 86 Gromlock?
>>11639117>GromlockFuck me, GRIMLOCK.
>>11639117I couldn’t find a direct comparison and I don’t own Dinoking, but he seems to be a fair bit shorter than Grimlock
>>11639001>had no idea who was that and why Megatron is the good guy nowShattered Glass is just Bizarro World Transformers - it's a timeline where the roles are all reversed, the Decepticons are the good guys who are losing the war, and the Autobots are the baddies who tend to be complete psychopaths; Optimus Prime is an edgelord who likes to decorate his fortress with the corpses of Decepticons, Bumblebee is powerhungry and has assumed Starscream's role from the original timelines, Megatron is a compassionate leader who hates violence but has no choice but to fight, and Starscream, despite being largely a non-combatant, is so deathly loyal to Megatron that he puts himself in harm's way time and again to protect him. Not the most original idea, and hated by a lot of people here, but I liked it enough. When they released the modern SG repaints a few years ago, they came with some mini comics that revived the idea (though clearly took place in yet another timeline, different from how events were in the original SG universe).
>>11639161the problem i had with IDW SG is that it forgot to lean in on the camp of a mirrorverse, it just felt like a bog standard Transformers story but with the good guys and bad guys switched instead of leaning on in the characters being polar opposites and how that would impact the story.
>>11639161>Bumblebee is powerhungry and has assumed Starscream's role from the original timelinesHAHAi would love to see that.a yellow chubby powerhungry guy
>>11639198PS:but now now im happy i got at least a blokee of this unique character.i guess i wouldnt mind to have the full bizzaro cast of blokee formers.
>>11638998Hasbro seems to be done with Shattered Glass, at least for the foreseeable future.I'd love them to update the Siege/ER molds with the current SS86 batch (even if Megatron still ends up inaccurate to the original) but it doesn't seem to be in the cards. There's always that 3rd party KO for Optimus I suppose.
>>11639198It's hardly original.
>>11639197IDW's SG was very self-indulgent, in that it was mainly based on IDW's own comics, compared to Funpub that drew from different sources. The end result was that IDW SG read like someone's fanfic about IDW Megatron never going evil and Optimus being the bastard cop all along.
I kinda want the new Ravage but I can't bring myself to buy the entire SS86
>>11639247Hit me up. I don't like the paint app on his mouth and I've already got Siege Rav.
>>11639265Nm misunderstood the post. Thought you meant G1 Universe SW. Confusing fucking releases this year I swear
>>11639119I actually kinda like that. Grimlock just accidentally clones himselfME GROMLOCK HATE GRIMLOCKWHAT? ME GRIMLOCK HATE GROMLOCK! RARARARARARA and they are just biting each other's mouths so it kinda looks like they're kissing and everyone just laughs
>>11639247Aww, cutest battle ever! Look at those little fellas go.Are you using Nightstrike as an Autobot cassette? I have him and that's not a bad idea to even the sides for Blaster's team a little.

>>11639199>I guess i wouldnt mind to have the full bizzaro cast of blokee formers.Well, you've at least got to get SG Optimus to go with him.
>>11639313It feels like a missed opportunity to do a Speed Blaster given it wouldn’t be the first Transformer based on that design
>>11639350>>11639199And SG Sideswipe, Ironhide, Bee, Jetfire and more to come. >tfw no Superlink Galvatron even when parts do exist.
Why do half of the used bots I buy have some kind of orange gunk somewhere on them? Do people not know how to keep their toys clean?
>>11639375He'd also need a perfectly normal, universe-displaced Cliffjumper.
>>11639161I appreciate the joke they made when Evil Optimus has his scheme thwarted and so he does the same scheme but with the reasons it failed accounted for and Regular Universe Cliffjumper is like "??? The bad guy never does the same evil plan twice what!"
Is there a way to open the hot wheel collab figures without damaging the cardbacks?
>>11639424see that's smart. if you're gonna do such an inherently meta story, best you actually get creative and analyze the thing
>>11639318If that one's not a Decepticon I will be sorely disappointed.
>>11639161Honestly, the best thing to come out of Shattered Glass was the ability to repurpose toys as SG counterparts. Some I came up with were Ultra Magnus's cab as SG Nemesis Prime, Universe Smokescreen as Hot Shot, and TM2 Cybershark as SG Sky-Byte >>11639235I always felt that Magna Convoy's color scheme would make a better SG Optimus, but I don’t mind the purple
>>11639442yeah i freakin love this color scheme. god that is a bad altmode though.
>>11639370Plus if they're allowed to redeco it (which they're admittedly probably not) we could have another RID2001 toy.

>>11639502>flattenedI should do that
>>11639504there you goit's harder for model kits, I always store leftover sprues in boxes, which.. obviously I shouldn't keep saving sprues, but... sometimes it's a rare plastic color, and you never know when you're gonna need a replacement peg if one snaps off, or you're making a custom.
>>11639347>>11639441With Mattel holding the bag you can probably expect another edgy Autobot at worst a la Boneshaker, but the truth is as long as these things aren't plastered with faction symbols you can headcanon them as whoever you want.

Give it to me straight /tfg/. How unrealistic of a grail is this set?
Got some walmart two packs, and Solus is shockingly awful. Both her feet just slip off at the lightest touch, the hammer connection is too tight for how small that is, and getting her lined up is much harder than it should be. Also, why is it that most of the toy primes had molded fist holes back when it came out, but both the walmart releases and the 4 pack magnus, don't?
>>11639717*Modded fist holes
>>11639722you mean modded to look less stupid while still being a peg-compatible hole? sort of like tarantulas's hands?
>>11639717Honestly that low QC sounds like a return it thing
>>11639668Anonhttps://toywiz.com/They were one of the worst scalper sites imaginable for the better part of like 10+ years. Charging $70+ a DELUXE in the time of $12 Deluxes in Movierverse start-Potp era
>>11639717There's something very wrong with your Solus - you hit the reverse-jackpot for QC. Definitely try to exchange her for another one.
>>11639756yes, anon. That concept has been thoroughly established. Now what's the other thing you called them
>>11639709What exactly am I looking at here?
>>11639797United EX guys that were recolors of Power Core Combiners
>>11639737Back when Legacy toy Optimus started making the rounds, some batches had the fist peg holes widened. This happened because the weapons are all painted, making them too thick for 5mm peg holes (why they didn't just avoid painting the pegs like on previous occasions is unknown). As far as I know, the widened peg holes variant more widely available. Amazon batches seemed to be that variation, while most copies I saw at stores also had that. The ones used for thr black Friday deals all seem to lack that modification, Magnus lacks it as well.
>>11639717I can't speak for anyone else, but my Solus Prime is absolute trash too. A profound disappointment from the moment I started to try transforming her. But what do you mean by modded fist holes? How exactly are the fists on the Walmart Black Friday two-packs and the Ultra Magnus from the four-pack any different?
>>11639602I always felt that they’d be the perfect characters to reintroduce the Core class if Hasbro ever brought it back
>>11639807Oops, nevermind, I just saw this post >>11639802 answering my question. Honestly, I had never heard this before about his fist holes being widened. If this is true, I kinda wonder which version I have.
>>11639802ohhhhhman i've never seen painted weapon pegs before, that is such an oversight, and such a weird solution.
>>11639709? It's a mass release item shouldn't be too hard to find.

>>11639872also they don’t know how to make good looking alt modes anymore unless they literally have to for accuracy reasons (and even then they often fuck it up)
Are the Hot Wheels collabs in-scale to the actual cars?
>>11639872I mean, Warden was still the head when AotP was developed, it won’t be until the next subline that we’ll be Warden-free
>>11639881Not sure what you meant by “actual cars” but this is how they scale next to SS86 Prime. They’re about 5 inches in robot mode and 4.5 inches in vehicle mode
>>11639873Only bad alt modes are beast wars ones.
TFO Orion looks very good, I just want confirmation of a torso swivel
>>11639901And Devestation Bumblebee looks great too. I’m surprised because I haven’t liked any of his G1 Generations figures. Cute homage to the Classics design.
>>11639901>all these TFO Orions>none have transforming hands

>>11639914Looks as good as an alt mode as this toy everyone sucks off
>>11639920not for $100 it's not.
>>11639920yeah except CW Onslaught is actually able to turn into a torso instead of being heavily partsforming frameslop.
>>11639881No, they're much larger than the actual Hot Wheels cars they're emulating. Still, they're solid toys, and worth grabbing.
>>11639920No, it's not.
>>11639922Your picture is mistransformed, the chest panels slide to the side and act as windows.
>>11639904I like this, it looks miles better than SS86 Bee.I wouldn't be against a 3rd party making a jet ski jetpack and a new head for the full Classics homage.
>>11639920Yeah, but CW Onslaught was a fun as fuck toy. He was a solid Voyager and having that Shockwave on him in vehicle mode was cool too. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of him and Sky Lynx...
>>11639570Dude I got lucky as hell and found 86 Megatron in a rural Meijers store of all things. I even came back to get it and somehow it was still there.
>>11639717Yeah Solus fucking sucks. She *looks* good but shes super fiddly especially for a Deluxe. I bought her, transformed her twice, and shes been hanging out on my shelf since. She is without a doubt the worst of the released Primes.
>>11639920Look I like what I'm seeing of AoTTp Obslought but I'll say this, that CW truck mode isnt as outlandish as you may think. The design is in the realm of a few big soviet missile carriers and I think one artillery platform that I think is Finnish.
>>11639951Then you haven't mess with Micronus, shit clear plastic, nothing altmode, can't even hold guns or use blast effects. He's so boring.

>>11639951>>11639807>>11639717My only problem with Solus is the lack of clearance when storing the head, other than that mine is perfectly fine and have transformed her many times.>>11639965I find Micronus fun precisely for how different of a concept he is. I like that he does his own thing. The only one of the Thirteen released until now that I'm really mixed about is Star Convoy. Too many retarded design decisions that fuck up how playable this thing should be.
>>11639965My biggest dislike of Micronus is how his big robot face looks like a prototype sculpted out of wax
>>11639965He stays together when I mess with him, and hes even designed to actually be taken apart. I don't think hes great but hes still well above Solus.
>>11639904>>11639942Classics is my favorite, so it's not even a competition -- Devastation is absolutely replacing Retro Bee.
>>11640036Buhbuhbuhbut alt mode!!!
>>11640045>Cybertronian hover car>Volkswagon Beetle>a CameroAs long as he's a yellow junker I'm fine with it. And look at that dinky thing. Devastation Bee looks like he's a two-liter v6.
God, SS One Prime sucks so fucking much. I don't even care about the yellowy grey on him, it's other stuff that pisses me off. His skirt piece falls off almost every time you move the dang thing, and trying to line everything up for his alt mode is the most frustrating thing ever. Like, are those tabs that lines up with his knees supposed to be connected to them for his car mode? Because for the life of me I can't get them connected in a way that allows for everything else to line up too. And his arms look freaking stupid hanging on the sides like that, barely grabbing onto those dumb pegs. Geez.
