I finally pre-ordered a Bambu Lab H2D with AMS addons. I'm gonna get it after new year, I still need a resin one, but can start prototyping mechanisms for my tanks. This is my first 3D printer ever, can't wait to start working with it.

I want to give his ML head a muscular and articulated body, and the Romankey Big Guy looks promising. If someone has both, head and body, could you guys help me and post a pic? I'd like to know if the head looks alright or small.
any ideas on how to build a pier? I thought about using cardboard which would be easy and cheap but never carry my figures. Then I thought about using "popsicle sticks" from the craft store, which would automatically look better but I do not know how to connect the pilings to the walkway. I can not imagine glue keeping it together on such a small surface, let alone keeping it together till it's dry.
>>11644745What boat is docking next to it? There are other dock designs that are easier to construct.
>>11644778no boats, I want to have my figures chill on it, do fishing, party and get eaten by sharks. Your design looks indeed easier but doesn't leave space between it and my shelf to place anything.
>>11644745If you got power tools then go to a hardware store and get wooden strips, round for the pillars and square one for the base. Use power tool to get desired lenghts and cut out parts of the pillars so they can hold the base better, use those popsicle sticks as boarding.
>>11644817This is how I imagine the base
>>11644824You can also carve out all the needed wooden pieces from XPS styrofoam... if you are patient enough.
>>11644745>>11644824>>11644827I would do the opposite, XPS foam for the main part and cut semicircles out of it. You're probably not going to need to view the pier from straight down and can always put a board at the end. Then just lay popsicle sticks on top.
>>11644691Found this on Red Note
>>11644967You can try hobby wood from a crafts/hobby store for the parts. They have square and round rods, as well as varying widths for simulating planks. Popsicle sticks will work too, but it may be just as much effort to cut the ends off as it would to cut those a part. I have seen them at the back of my local Hobby Lobby before and I have seen them at local Michaels before too. There are probably even more options out there. Only a suggestion of course!
Looking for a clear coat for my first repaint, found Mr. Super Clear gloss UV Cut has good reviews and is pretty common. Questions:1) i've read it can't be used on some paints and waterbased decals. I'm going to use tamiya acrylics (TS) and some waterslide decals for trims and little details. So does this means it is basically the wrong product to use in this case?2)how is the "UV cut" kind?Since the base paint is white and don't want it to yellow in a couple of years, i thought an extra-protection for 2 more bucks seems worththis is my first custom, everything is new. I tought buying the same kind of paints would have done the job, but the more i dig in, the more a chemistry degree looks necessary
>>11646246>1) i've read it can't be used on some paints and waterbased decals.in my experience, the only time clear coat has ever ruined a finish was when i was spraying too liberally and too closely to my project. The propellant in a spray can can corrode some paints, so a proper distance is required to let it spread out into the air, this applies to any spray can as well.>>11646246>2)how is the "UV cut" kind?as far as i know that's a common feature in all clear coat finishes these days.

>>11646596>that's a common feature in all clear coatdon't know but pic rel is distinct from the one without the UV protection, that's why i was asking>>11647703nice kitty anon
