You're teleported to Picrel with 50 bucks in hand. What are you getting? You won't be able to resell it or get fag clout for owning figs that are rare in the present day.
>>
I had at least one of each in the bottom row, luke's landspeeder, the endor set and the escape pod (best sandtrooper btw).

I know I had phase 1 Gree but I don't think I had the geonisan canon.

Without fig value in mind.... it'd be between the geonosian starfighter and the n1. The V-wing is also a really neat set.
>>
>>11646434
Dang I miss this era so much. I had the V-Wing, Lamdspeeder, Geonosian fighter, and those three battle packs. I recently sold them all though. Back then I wanted the nightspeeder and geonosian cannon but never got them. I guess if I could go back I’d get one of them.

I'm usually not a fan of the non-blue ties, but this one is exactly at the cutoff point where it uses the classic design with slight updates and the grey/black colors.
Absolute beauty but feels slightly inflated because of the potential chrome vader minifig it can have.
>>
>>11646434
Never really care about this era/the clone wars era but you can't go wrong with a black V-Wing and an N-1 starfighter.
>>

2007-2014 was peak LSW
>>
>>11646434
All these sets have been remade much better, but probably the Naboo Starfighter cus I don't have one.
>>
>>11646966
What set in picrel got remade apart from luke‘s landspeeder and maybe the endor set and escape pod.

And no, the imperial V-wing has never been remade
>>
>>11646651
I forgot this set existed. Also I know exactly what you‘re talking about and this almost sub theme of comfy imperial sets was beautiful.

Picrel makes me remember how good box art and more specifically the header art used to be. every year was something new and it was cool. Now we literally have nothing.

Imo number one is either Maul or the 3 p1 clones. Luv me Rex, luv me 2014 Vader, adore me single clone helmet.

Also the Mandr retards hating on this set are retarded. Tbf I only saw images and reviews but I doubt I’ll be dissapointed when I build it.
>>
>>11647053
gold logo era was when lego star wars was purely lego star wars
vader helmet era was also decent, fleshies where in full force but the sets were pretty solid all around
clone years sucked, the tcw minifigs were ugly as sin and the sets were fragile
rex/ maul/ yoda years saw the sets improve, but the tcw figs still looked like ass, i know they got phased out at some point though
tfa era was the point of no return, that's when lego started changing all their iconic helmets into the oversized monstrosities they are today and giving minifigs weird faux real faces that look like shit
i dropped lego star wars somewhere around rogue - tlj, there were some decent rogue one sets but i just stopped caring around that point, disney had soured me on nuwars and the sets were getting egregiously overpriced
>>
>>11647070
The clone wars figs are very nostalgic to me. And there are some genuinely good ones like Pre Vizsla, gree, fox.

Apart from that only the faces look wonky and (if you don‘t find them charming in a way) take away from the figs. The figs themselves are what i think lego figs always should be: not overly detailed yet instantly recognisable whilst still being first and foremost lego. The starkiller fig comes to mind.

I stopped collecting around the same time as well. Got back into it when the 501st battlepack came out. Stuck around for a while but went away again only to return a few months ago when I got gifted the new ahsokas starfighter.
>>
>>11646434
Whoa, that V-wing was the first Starwars set I ever purchased, actually first lego in general that wasn't gifted to me as a child. To be honest though, with 50 bucks at those prices, I'd go for the ewok set and a clone trooper/bike battle pack.
>>
>>11647078
Had the Ewok set. Man those scout troopers were so cool. The speeder builds as well. Still with my current interests in sw I‘d get a separatist set to have someone to fight the clones from the battlepack.

Well I got a cool mom so I told her what set I wanted. I also got the torrent and plo‘s microfighter. There‘s a great deal going on so I got 2 free 501st specialist battlepacks with the purchase. Could have been 4 if I got 3 sets instead of the gunship.

not pictured:
two dropship things with 8 zombie niggas
a big spider mech thing and 4 other trooper guys (one is red)
two yellow droids (these things are super fucking lame and it's gay as hell that lego considers them on par with minifigs, the "super" ones are super gay too)

the yellow soldiers are my favorites but their pack was way too expensive even on sale so I shan't buy another. the blue guys are good too and I might buy another one or two of those, good price. also not pictured is their captain, I have his little weird microship thing
>>
>>11647053
I grew up with Vader helmet, clones, Rex, and Maul so those are my favorite I guess. Yoda was the beginning of the end and the point where Star Wars' soul would be sold

>>11647083
TCW era web games were so fucking good. I played the one they had to promote LSIII a lot. Not Lego but Path of the Jedi on starwars.com was also very fun. Sucks that stuff doesn’t exist anymore
>>
>>11647084
Didn't they put some early TCW sets in both packaging? I remember seeing Anakin's fighter with a Vader helmet box in Sears but I later got one with a clone helmet box
>>
>>11647252
I only know of this happening with that Anakin's starfighter.

>>11647250
Yoda did always feel off on the header but looking back that yoda's chronicles era wasn't that bad. Especially compared to the sovllessness of today.

>LSIII web game
I have vivid memories of playing some sort of 2d game superimposed on LSIII. It was sort of like a demo and you'd see characters going into the third dimension and you couldn't follow. Please tell me you're talking about this and that it exists.
>>
>>11647242
Yeah the yellow soldiers (327th starcorps) are cool. We've been waiting to get them ever since the clone wars aired. Still, I'm a bit disappointed in the design.

>yellow droids and super battle droids
B1s are sovl, I hope they never change them. The B2s you have are a new design, the old ones were sort of rare last coming out in like 2014 or sumn. Both great, don't hate sovl.

>>
>>11647257

Yeah this one. I guess it was like a multiplayer sidescroller type thing and you could go to the planets that would be in the actual video game. I don't remember what the objectives were but I think I would spend all day on on it because you couldn't save progress or maybe I'm mixing up with something else

>>11647268
old good new bad anon so... But that set will probably break with all the brown pieces
>>
>>11647284
I don't keep anything sealed. Apart from that one boxed ninjago cole minifig since it's already prebuilt and I don't need to think about storing it this way.

What old set should I get in that price range? Also what's your collection like? Pics?
>>
>>11647079
Yeah I have a scout trooper from one of the small sets meant for 4 year olds and it's pretty nice. The only other scouts in the collection are my brother's 2 from the yellow head era where the helmets have visor holes and the lenses are printed on the yellow heads.

I also like that set because Ewoks are cute.
>>
>>11647308

I really like the ship itself, but the official lego version looks too off to me. Maybe I'll get it myself one day just so I can MOC it up.
Also it's still up on the official lego website for 64,99e.

My biggest gripes with it are the tail end-being angled weirdly, the front guns that don't feel properly integrated into the front. And the colors of the wings should be light gray like the rest of the ship instead of dark gray.
>>
>>11647268
Considering most old sets are extremely overpriced because they have one Glup Shitto fig in them, I'd go with the current catalogue. Just not worth it paying 3 times the retail price for these.

Newfag question,
I have been out of this hobby for a long while and just got back in, but back in my day I do not remember ever seeing these marks on hands, but now I see them everywhere?
Why is this a thing?
When did this become the standard and why is literally no one complaining about it?

I needed a magnifying glass to check, but it looks like those marks are there.

it's easy to deduce that's a manufacturing type of issue, either from the molding, or the machine that grabs the hands and crams them into the torso arms on the assembly line

if it bothers you, I suggest you request replacements from Lego's customer service request form. let them know they can't get away with it. they won't know it's a problem unless customers complain about it. after wasting lots of dollars sending out replacement torsos, they might spend some money fixing the problem in the first place

(be ready, they will certainly ask you for pictures to call your bluff for asking for so many rare torso replacements)
>>
>>11649619
I started noticing this with the first harry potter cmf series. Will check some older lego figures later to see if they also got it.
>>
>>11649619
>>11649703
Literally every single minifig I currently have in arm's reach does NOT have it. And surprise, it's all old lego.
Will dig up my spare part minifig box later to check there as well, but I think I already know the results.

Am I the only one that is constantly having to order replacement parts these days? It seems for every ten Minifigures I pull from sealed 2023-2025 sets at least three will have some sought of major flaw. Call me autistic but if I buy the buildable R2-D2 purely for Malik and he has a patch missing silver paint or chips in his feet im gonna expect a replacement. I'm not as picky for troopers that I get multiple of since I put the best one in my case and use the rest for mocs, but I should considering the prices.

>Am I the only one that is constantly having to order replacement parts
I remember when this set came out, Mando's helmet was printed off-center. I was like ,WTF I bought this expensive set, only to get a f'd-up helmet? the most important piece? argh! a few weeks later the replacement piece came, and was ALSO off-centered! no. unacceptable. I put in another request. that 2nd request was rejected and they asked me to send a picture, for "proof"

I was like LOOK at the piece, idiots! you're the ones making them! don't shame me by making me do work. Lego made me feel bad like I was the one trying to be dishonest and get extra cool helmets. I just wanted ONE that was printed in the center (and those 2 errors were very off-center, I was not being "autistic" about it!)

they eventually sent me a "good" one, but I was not going to give Lego my money for a half-ass piece (and the helmet was like, THE piece of that whole set!)

hope you enjoyed my story-bro

>f'd
Was your mom watching over your shoulder as you made your post? You can say fuck.
>>
>>11650054
The printing on my phase 2 cody seems a tiny bit off. Should I ask Lego for a replacement? I mean I paid good money and I do expect the helmet to be flawless.
>>
>>11649934
I've never actually requested a replacement part for a minifigure. I might just not pay that much attention to them. Althougheverbeit, I have constant missing pieces or swapped pieces in recent sets. Anything over 1000 pieces is genuinely at about a 33% chance of having a missing piece, but never for smaller sets. It's not even something small a lot of the time, like the 2024 playscale ISD I got was missing two 2x6 angled plates, and had a random extra white cone that doesn't even appear in that set. I have had several other instances of getting random parts not normally a part of that set and they have all been white. My LKC was missing one green 1x4 curved tile and in its place had an extra white 1x4 tile, which did appear in the set, but in a later bag.
>>
>>11650074
I don't remember ever missing pieces in any set. Might just be that eu factories are better than the one supplying the US.
>>
>>11650060
>You can say f___
hey, there may be kids reading this (lol?)

>>11650065
>Should I ask Lego for a replacement?
YES.
Lego chose to make window-less boxes (a huge savings), and they accept that they will need to send replacements occasionally because customers can't look at the figures before they decide to purchase the set.
your money matters (to you)
your tolerance-comfort (unsure what word to use here) matters
>>
>>11650076
NA's primary factory is Mexico which is notoriously bad. It's the one that a lot of leaks and figures being stolen before sets launch to be resold come from. Lego is building a new factory in Virginia in 2027 so maybe it will end up being better.

>>
>>11651722
Retired or new? Either way there's some options.

Clone Wars 3d show still on shelves and affordable: 75391, 75401, 75372

Revenge of the sith, still on shelves, affordable: 75402, (you can also find the at-te and maybe even the mtt up to 40% off)

Battlefront (?), still on shelves, very affordable: 75345

Retired recently but still affordable: 75359, 75342 (this one literally goes for less than retail and has great figs and a decent build), 75283, 75310 and picrel

Good old Days retired sets that you can still get sealed for a relatively ok price: 9491, 7914, 8085, 75088, and a bunch more. Not to mention you could buy used and spend even less.

besides a few sets from my childhood that are still complete: an at-te, I think the one with coleman trebor, the luke and leia on the death star platform, the scarif base with andor and the shore troopers, an episode one att, a y-wing and the emperors throne room from 40th year anniversary. besides lots of battlepacks.
You?
>>
>>11651764
That's cool. Those shoretroopers are quite expensive these days. I only have the star wars day one.

As far as my collection goes, I had a lot of sets when I was a kid but most are in pieces. Apart from that I got the new at-te, gunship, 3 2019 aats, the new mtt, a number of newer battlepacks, the 2014 v-wing missing a few pieces and the colemand trebor at-te, 2014 at-at and ISD in a bin waiting to be repaired along with the rogue one at-st.

I also bought a v-19 torrent and got a sick deal on a sealed z-95 headhunter so those will be added to the collection.

That reminds me, I also have an AV-7 and the 2014 tri fighter droid.

I won't mention sequel sets.

Well, that's what I mean. When the most difficult thing you have to suffer through in the day is that the newest Clone trooper minifig has a helmet line that ends two pixels shorter than it should, you don't really have a lot going on in life.

He has videos where he seems on the edge of tears that LEGO doesn't send him review samples like so many other paid sponsors, to the point that he actually has created contacts in Hong Kong, or Singapore or whatever, where he can pay 5x retail to have a brand new set flown to him so he can get it a day early and get around LEGO's review embargo.

No, get the smaller one that was $160.

Reasons:
1. Cheaper
2. Actually posable, the big one needs a tool to wind the legs into position
3. The grapple hook on the smaller one actually works and let's Luke grapple up through a gear mechanism that the big version doesn't even have

Only get it if you REALLY want some statue shit display piece.

I actually really like the new Droideka. I was looking at the droid with the STAP but it looks a little off. I dunno if it's the chunky legs or what. Also unironically two of my favorite sets were the brick built C3PO and R2D2 from last year(?). I need to bricklink some parts so I can make a Tatooine stand for R2 like the C3PO has.

Yes, it's dated as fuck, but one of its signature design points (the bottom) looks the absolute best compared to all the others it's not even a contest.

Fuck me we need to go back.

What is Legos deal with battle packs now? I saw the Imperial hoth + rebel hoth packs. They looked like battle packs. Also I don't really like sets with odd numbers of enemies and allies. I dunno I swear there have been packs that have like 5 of one faction and 1 or 2 of the opposing faction. I missed a lot of Lego building a bit before the 2010s, and feel like I got right back in when LG Star Wars hit it's peak in the modern era. The Hoth At-St/ATAT, sets were great. Not too expensive, the builds looked right, even the Aluminum Falcon set was pretty perfect, just needs a bit of internal modding for more play/diorama space. But on the other hand we had the near $1000 ATAT/Falcon that led to the Death Slice disaster.

If you think that the slop we have been getting the past few years in advent calendars like micro versions of ships from 4+ sets, multiple micro Luke's landspeeders, random clones and battle droids, and maybe one unique Christmas sweater figure is better than a cohesively themed advent calendar with actually useful environmental builds and an exclusive character in the form of Babu Frik, then you need to be boiled alive in liquid shit.

I genuinely, unironically, disambiguously, orthogonally, platonically, egregiously, think that the helmet hole helmets look way better than the non helmet hole helmets from 2021 and prior. lego seems to get more freedom with hp than they do with star wars, but the problem with the sets lately is the inflated parts count that's almost entirely dedicated to greebling
they're just displays now, where the original line was full of little play features and hidden secrets that were entirely the idea of the set designer, with far fewer parts
as for the price i assume it's because hpfags aren't as willing to shell out as much money as swfags, and the old hp sets have really wonky looking minifigs

>I genuinely, unironically, disambiguously, orthogonally, platonically, egregiously, think that the helmet hole helmets look way better than the non helmet hole helmets from 2021 and prior.

Saying it looks better is a stretch, but I don't really get why its a big deal. Them being there doesn't bother me at all, but it is strange that they made the hole higher when there was already the little circular nub right below it where they could have put it, though I'm not sure things like the visors would have sat right if the holes were that low, and the visors and the rangefinders were the whole reason those holes were added to begin with. The holes are so small that you take like one step back from the figures and you can't even hardly see them anyway.

The way more egregious issues are they way they handled the kama. If they're going to print them, at least print the whole leg and not just a little stripe on the front. It just looks goofy.
>>
>>11654068
>If they're going to print them, at least print the whole leg and not just a little stripe on the front.
I prefer hard plastic kamas because I have always hated cloth waist accessories, but I have seen customs with printed kamas that have side leg printing, and they actually look great. Apparently side leg printing and dual molded legs in general are impossible for Lego to implement in Star Wars for some reason. It really pisses me off how inconsistent modern Lego minifigures look with one another when some still have plain unprinted legs, some are dual molded, some are poorly front printed only, and some have beautiful side and front printing sometimes on top of dual molded legs.
>>
