>Kills 1:18 at Western retailHeh...Nothin personell...kid...
>>11649187Hasbro has been trying to kill 3.75 inch for well over a decade
>>11649219try two
>>11649187I don't think they intended to kill it. After Disney licensing fees I really do think they sold it at the lowest possible price. Beyond high licensing fees it's a good format that allows for cheaper figures and more vehicle possibilities that aren't possible in the larger scale.
>>11649187>Western retailIt was a crowdfund that had nothing to do with retail though. For a niche franchise with a very limited fanbase. Launched at the same time as a critically and commercially disappointing addition to the franchise was released. Also what >>11649219 and >>11649313 said. Hasbro has been trying to kill 1:18 since they scrapped Marvel Universe and started neglecting Star Wars 1:18 in favor of Black series in the 2010s. The only reason they brought back TVC is because they needed to entice the fans that abandoned them back after the sequel trilogy lines nearly tanked them.
>>11649417Well 2027 is the big 50th anniversary celebration for Star Wars, and lots of vintage reissues in that size are absolutely expected.
>>11649421I'm not surprised. Apart from the garbage from things like The Acolyte, the TVC Pulse exclusives have been selling pretty well.
>>11649421>>11649426In a recent livestream interview, the Star Wars team mentioned that Walmart had approached them and they're interested in supporting TVC more and getting exclusives again. So obviously they are seeing something in its sales that make it viable to them.
>>11649508I may be wrong, but the only SW that came out this year that I saw any demand for with people buying was the vintage reissue boxed sets. Even the Haslab LAAT/I was made for that scale. And it makes economic sense. The 6" scale is getting priced out of the market for a lot of people, and the size is causing all sorts of issues with getting vehicles. Hasbro got lucky with getting people to pay $60 for one Ghost Viper, but that shit's unsustainable. IF Hasbro wants VOLUME sales, then they need stuff that can be priced at levels that accomodate that.
>>11649514didn't they raise the price of TVC figures 20 USD recently
>>11649187Truth is, people don’t really like Tron that much
>>11649699I'm not referring to theTVC. I am referring to the retro reissues.
Good 1:18 is a baby scale.
>>11650001nah 1/12 is a baby scale given how many boomer Facebook groups have meltdowns any time an action figure isn't exactly 6 inches
>>11650008>>116500011:12 is a good scale for figures, but not for vehicles.
>>11649187Mattel is still invested in it since 1/12 dinosaurs with better than baby toy level articulation are basically impossible to do with anything bigger than the Raptors.>>11649414It was wild seeing retards say the whole things should have cost $130 when the articulartion and sculpt on them obviously put them more on par with Hiya and JoyToys' $25 to $30 figures. The whole set probably should have run at around $210 add to that the 20% Disney fee and you're basically reaching the same price as Haslab give or take 10 bucks.>>11650008>>116500131/6 is good for figures 1/18 is good for vehicals and large animals. 1/12 is for children.
>>11650399>1/6 is good for figures 1/18 is good for vehicals and large animals. 1/12 is for children.1/6 is good for figures that stand still and never get posed. 1/12 is good for actual figures. 1/18 is good for vehicles and monsters.
