Why doesn't Hasbro remake this? This was so goated

Power of the Force is peak toy line, best star wars line ever made. Like, Mcfarlane remade Super Power collection so why not?

I mean with the proportions they had, closer to the old toys

Nice, when is it out?
>>

Im collecting this set now. That short saber/long tray Vader is cool.
>>
>>11650315
Because everything except the vehicles are at or slightly above their original retail price, so it's not worth it

>Nice, when is it out?
Lstings went up for the Marvel ones on Amazon and they said January 1st. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too far out for the Star Wars ones but no listings have popped up yet.

The line ended in 1999/2000. Even if it was printed to hell it's still gonna dwindle. I am collecting them out of nostalgia so Idgaf about the prices.

what I love about these now is that a lot of them are a moment in time—a beautiful moment, before the phantom menace ruined SW, and during a period of very active EU. all the Shadows stuff is so based.
I can’t bring myself to re-collect them but I’m tempted sometimes. hope they stay cheap for anyone who wants them

I agree 100%.
Right before Phantom Menace was actual, unironic PEAK Star Wars. Shadows of the Empire was the last time every piece of Star Wars media was great

I remember seeing this in stores and my 7 year old self didn't give a shit since it wasn't from the movies...then I played SotE and wanted it so bad but couldn't find it.

It really was, I got a N64 for christmas in 1996, then in January my parents take me to see Star Wars A New Hope, It was the greatest thing I had ever seen, I went to the store and they had tons of figures of characters that i had no idea who they were and I could only imagine. It didn't take long since the next month The empire strikes back came out in theaters and I was blown away, I got some toys and love the first two movies and then bam out of nowhere just a month later Return of the Jedi comes out, I watch it and fucking loved it. Got more figures as well to go along with the movie, including some Shadows of the Empire toys, at this point I knew who all the characters were but didn't know who the SOTE guys were, and then I realize one day that there's a N64 game called that so I get it for my birthday along with the VHS trilogy of star wars (which were actually the non-special edition versions, as a kid I just thought they removed stuff from the VHS releases which is why there was no jabba in ANH for example). So much star wars in such little time. I was hyped as fuck for The Phantom Menace, hell the whole world was, but the toys, the video games, they didn't hit the same despite me still being a kid.

The appeasement of the boomers is almost at an end, the thickness is back!
>>
>>11650315
Because you can buy most of these sealed for $5, hasbro selling nu versions of them for $30 would be what finally bankrupts them
>>

I was floored when I looked into replacing some of the figures I had as a kid. They are dirt cheap. The Mighty Max style clamshell playsets with the tiny figures are also crazy cheap.

>The Mighty Max style clamshell playsets with the tiny figures are also crazy cheap.
As a kid I preferred those Micromachines instead of the Kenner figures. There was just something special about having little Mighty Max style Star Wars ships and figures. Like filling your pockets with storm troopers and rebels and a few of those mini clamshell helmets was great.

Loved this set as a kid.

i have a storage rental full of this entire line, mib. i'm sure it's worth a whopping $35. i'll be dead before it's worth anything lol

>>11656751
I'll give you a out 350 for all of them.

The biggest thing that pissed me off in that toys that made us show was when they acted as if there were no star wars toys in the mid 90s before TPM released. As if all these kino EU stuff never existed
>>
>>11657087
The '95 relaunch of Star Wars figures was huge. Did they really gloss over that shit?

The Toys That Made Us was entertaining, but really surface level, which is probably due to the run time more than anything. Figure lines like Star Wars or MOTU or TMNT need full length documentary movies to really get where they need to go, or maybe a mini series. First episode on the origins of the toy line, second episode covering Empire and Jedi and Kenner's massive growth, third episode on the fall and rebirth with POTF 1 and 2, forth episode on Episode 1, fifth on AOTC and ROTS, and then maybe a final on Black series and Star Wars moving into 6 inch.
>>
>>11657137
>and then maybe a final on Black series
Fuck Black series. I wouldn't want them to skip some of the most interesting eras for Star Wars collecting. Really, the lines between movies like POTJ and OTC were interesting just because they kept the line alive even without a movie to push sales (and VOTC was when they started to accept that a collector's market existed), and could probably be included with each prequel episode, but no way in hell would I want them skipping the 2006-2012 era when they made leaps forward in articulation, design and sculpting, dug deep into EU, and made the big ass Millenium Falcon and AT-AT without needing to beg for the money upfront. Most importantly they kicked off TVC. Oh, and Clone Wars. I didn't like the line except for the vehicles, but it was pretty important.
>>
>>11657087
I mean, fine. POTF2 is generational at this point. The figures and sets resonate with a certain group of people, I’m fine with dipshit zoomers or older collectors not giving a fuck and keeping them cheap.
>>
>>11657130
NTA but yes

It's been a while since I watched it but they made it sound like POTF2 came out after TPM which is total bs
