>>11654644I feel the urge to put some fancy looking space marine on the back of that big cat.
>m'lady
>>11654644Nice kitty!>>11654729where did that Japanese shop come from?
>>11654789It is from Playmobil Naruto
>>11654644Part of me regrets skipping out on this set, but at the same time seeing it in hand...I feel I made the right decision. Not saying it's bad, but I doubt I really would've enjoyed it for how expensive it was. >>11654789There's also a Figuarts one that's a bit bigger and comes with some actual ramen bowls. >>11654792I do love me some Playmobil, but I hate how it's just a bit too small to really work with 1:18 stuff, especially the more modern, slightly larger figures.
>>11654901I feel you 100% in regards to the Playmobil scale, but as amateur on a budget you just gotta make do, maybe squint your eyes a little, and just not take it all too seriously.Playmobil has some great pieces of environment you otherwise had to make yourself from scratch, so you always have to 67 and see whats important to you.I always mixed and matched the different serieses when I played with my figures as a kid, so maybe I dont mind that much because the improv bears maybe some kind of nostalgic feeling to me.
>>11654724I dont have any smurfs to go with the blue and I dont have the green armores smilodon so I cant color match that way either, but I can tell you that the it's a little awkward to get the marine to sit on the cat properly.>>11654789I'm very happy with it, though I think I'll hold off on getting any more cats until the proper 1/18 smilodons roll out. It's cool having a supersized one that can be ridden by 1/18 figures, but I want a pride of properly scalled cats to stalk my Mammoth and calf.
>>11654980Funny enough, my "dislike" of mixing Playmobil with 1:18 stuff comes from when I was a kid and how frustratingly close some Playmobil stuff I had was to working with Joes, but never fit quite right. But recently I fell into a very niche line of Gashapon figures that works *perfectly* with Playmobil and have recently picked up some of their stuff to help set up displays. Currently I have an evil warship and just recently grabbed a castle and I'm currently eyeing a mid sized pirate ship for some similarly sized figures. Playmobil makes some *really* nice sets, and if it wasn't for their admittedly charming, but incredibly limited figures, I probably would've been a hard collector of their line. Also, that ramen shop is probably one of the better sets I seen that mix perfectly with modern 1:18 stuff and it makes for a fantastic backdrop.
>>11655212 I never picked up any of the Scoobies and haven't looked at prices but they would be fun. This little guy (and he comes with a robot buddy) are like 1/18 pocket sized. so having one in bag / pocket /jacket isn't band for goofin around. I also could get rid of the cars with editing.. but naw.
>>11655313 I dunno if Playmobile makes hazmat guys. - but they probably do. but i should get 1 or 2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was what actually into Joes - as well as being a fan of the comics and cartoons.
the smaller scale works for japanese stuff like that ramen shop at least, since nips are tiny
I'm really enjoying Hiya's 1/18 figures, but they have got to make the hair out of softer plastic; it's so annoyingly limiting for neck articulation.
>>11656261Ive got a few of the hiya joes pre-ordered(alley, range and spirit). This alley viper especially looks nice. Im not a big fan of the classified look for some of the figures but these 3 look great. I have like 18 POC alley vipers so this guy will be my leader. I hope they knock Night Viper out of the park as well. He is my favorite specialized viper. Wish hydro-viper would get some love by the classified line so we would get a hiya version.
>>11656393Wasn't Hydro-Viper on, or speculated to be, a leak list?
>>11656393bro wtf that's dope
>>11655313This made me feel like fiddling around with my playmo boys as well
Anyone have a single favorite figure? I've kept my favorite specimens from various lines on my desk and I'm about to paint my toy room so I've been packing things away and I've noticed that I've missed certain figures more than others but my absolute favorite figure is this particular PVG chick I've come to name Maeve. Also stop making retarded captchas
>>11658821I've got the dino-tism so it's gotta be one of my Allosaurs. It tought to choose with one though since I always keep them together.
>>11658821I do have a single favorite toy but it's not a 1/18 thing, or even a figure. After that I have sub favorites- for 1/18 across the board it would probably be acid rain Sol Commander. That was such a leap and the level of personality in both the sculpt and design and ability of articulation felt like a really special event, and is something that even many more current acid rain figures don't seem to match. Growing up my favorite was probably the shadows of the empire red guard luke. Dino wise 1/18 has got to be the Hammond collection Ghost, what a stellar dino toy.
>>11659344I have a few dinos but I'm not savvy in that niche. Do you know anything about those tiny bird-like raptors by Creative Beast Studio? They look interesting. Also, out of curiosity why do dino bros love the Hammond Carnotaurus so much? What differentiates it from like the T-Rex? >>11659440iirc the Sol Commander was THE first Acid Rain World figure and as such I always considered it the best distillation of the concept and Kit Lau's illustrations. I also remember feeling like 1/18 as a whole turned a corner after ARW. This is why I spent years glazing the line until they gradually sold out which combined with the fact that earlier generations are beginning to goo up have cooled my enthusiasm for the brand. That aside, ARW was some of the most hyper articulated and (at first) well detailed figures ever. They've fallen out of grace to me but definitely belong on the 1/18 Pantheon. I'd also argue that Vitruvian HACKS also does if you look past the faces. The Sol Commander and the HACKS Spartan both blew my fucking mind die to what they brought to the scale.
>>11660269>Do you know anything about those tiny bird-like raptors by Creative Beast Studio? They look interesting. For the 1/18 scale raptors, I dont have Velociraptor, but I've got the male and female Dromaeosaurus (the two little guys up front) and the Achillobator. I need to get around to picking up the Deinonychus so I have at least one of all three of the size classes of the 1/18 raptors.>Also, out of curiosity why do dino bros love the Hammond Carnotaurus so much? What differentiates it from like the T-Rex? The Hammond Collection Rex has ugly hips, bad knees, a torso crunch that gives out because it is too front heavy, goofy oversized teeth, goofy oversized feet, and a head sculpt that is a bad middle ground between the animatronic and the CGI Rex which leaves fans of either unsatisfied. I personally think the Giga and Spinosaurus easily trump the Carno because they improve on it with better neck and tail articulation, but they had the benifit of coming out after the Carno and building off of it. The Carno and Irritator were the first of the improved theropods to do away with the bad teeth and feet of figures like Rex, Concovenator, and Ceratosaurus, so they have very vocal fans in the dinosaur and JP collecting communities. In general, all the first generation of Hammond Collection figures desperately need updates to fix their comicly bad feet and update their articulation and sculpts to the modern standards of the line.
I'm a simple man, I see chest upgrade. I buy.
>>11660414Source?
>>11660440Planet Green Valley nude body and head with a 1/18 scale compatible chest (just ebay search or aliexpress)
Finally got a couple of the joytoy Roman Centurions. They are great, I'm definitely gonna have to get more.
>>11660691Yeah they really have been pumping out good shit, I got to know them through their wh40k figures but I became an even bigger fan of their other lines. Also cool pic, I really enjoy those crazy madmax roman dudes in their trans flag jeep.
>>11660752I've been collecting Joytoy for a while and it's crazy to see how much their articulation havs improved. The arms are just so much better though, I guess that's probably a factor in why they are $10 to $15 more than a lot of their non-warhammer figures.Other than cowboys, Joytoy now makes basically everything to do bootleg Fallout New Vegas scenes.
>>11660376Damn, the girl in brown next to Negan is small. Is she like a teenager or something?
This guy is pretty cash
>>11661004Star Wars TVC are just absurdly tiny. It's honestly really annoying because I would love to army build troopers from the line, but they're like a head shorter then even the shortest other 1:18 figure I own. That's not my pic, but I just decided to use all my TVC as kids because of how small they are. The Rose Tico TVC makes for a good fat asian friend.
>>11661004Hiya, Joytoy, Boss Fight Studio, Chicken Fried Toys, Boris Ping, Acid Rain, and most others use 4 inch as a base for 1:18, while TVC still uses 3.75. Hasbro's "new" 1:18 G.I. Joe line, before they killed it, modernized 1:18 to use 4-inches as a base for the scale. Even though it died in favor of their 1:12 line it had a lasting impact in that most companies that stuck with 1:18 started using the 4 inch base as well. However, even though Hasbro pioneered the 4-inch scale they didnt use it in TVC. So short Star Wars characters look comically short when compared to figures by other companies because Hasbro does "faithful" size variability based on actor height.
I bought me a door.
>>11661732 I am tempted by the weird 1/2 of a tent as well as I have some nice rocks and piles of dirt to use as a background.
I saw BBTS put up these blank bodies for sale. $15.49 each. There are two skin tones for the female and then two versions of the male body that also have a light and dark option.
>>11661784I'm not impressed as they seem to lack in both quality and articulation especially compared to the blanks offered by Joy Toy, HACKS, and PGV but yeah, I preordered the whole set
>>11661791The guy's articulation is pretty good but I don't get why the female is gimped so much.
>>11661784For that price, they don't seem bad. Who knows if standard gear from other lines would fit em though?
>>11661732das a nice prop! I wonder what horrors are behind that door...maybe one of these >>11662169
>>11662207It's possible. I've used the big bastard with the same setup.
- of course I haven't got this guy out yet.
the new microman figures have problems. did micronauts curse it or what
>>11660899Legionaries with anachronistic weapons remains kino.
>>11663246Agreed
>>11663246The Joytoy Legionaries look like something out of Warhammer anyway so them wielding gats sorta fits.
>>11663345The way the guy in the middle's armor kinda hides his arms and legs behind him to look like he has short limbs and a long torso, along with the mask, makes him look like midget psycho bandit from Borderlands.
>>11663396Wouldnt it more be that Warhammer space marines look like Roman legionaries rather than the other way around?>>11663450I really wonder if Joytoy used the Psychos as inspirayion for their San Reja cultists. The masked raiders arent exactly unique, but they look pretty similar.
>>11654638what’s that busty maid?
>>11662491There was a TVC Wampa?
>>11664582Yes. It was only about $15 too.
>>11663691I dig this
>>11664582No, it was from the Force Link 2.0 line and came with a 5 PoA Luke.
>>11664723 You can pull his arm off.
1/16 heng long t-34/85. Scales amazingly with the joytoy ww2 figures
Leona came in. Damn she's very leggy. She's really impressive with her articulation.
>>11665962
>>11665962>>11665965Isn't she more 1/16 or 1/15 scale?
>>11666195Yeah, definitely closer to 1/16 than the advertised 1/18, but she'll mostly be posed in fighting stances which will make her slook smaller especially since it's mostly her comically long legs that make her tall. Her torso, arms, and head all look like any other 1/18 figure.
>>11666358I still got Leona in the mail and Blue Mary proordered, I hope Mary will have normal proportions but Im still very much looking forward to Leona, very fun pics!
>>11663345What are these guys like? They seem like fun due to their huge build but I have the female ones but I don't like playing with them because the arms pop off at the shoulder too easily. I got sick of it and just swapped with a PGV figure
>>11665962Just got her too and her proportions are ludicrous. Tiny bobble-head and giraffe-length legs.
>>11660899BOS knight, NCR rangers, Legionares, Raiders.
Pocket Girl PG-01 Swimsuit Girl by LADo Toys. I'm of mixed opinion. On the one hand she looks great but she's engineered like a scaled down SH Figuarts so the ball sockets in the wrists and ankles are fucking TINY. That also means she doesn't lend herself to (easy) part swaps with other bodies like PGV or HACKS etc. I do not feel comfortable swapping out her feet without heat. She doesn't come with another face or head so she's stuck with the same expression. I like the swappable hands and feet including the ice cream and coffee cup which are one piece as opposed to the separate coffee cups that came with the Boris Ping swimsuit girl. Her paint apps are great and I look forward to seeing if her hands work with the newer PGV bodies coming out soon and I hope they keep cranking out these girls. I did see that they're planning on doing Evangelion girls this way.
>>11668785
>>11668785The other feet are flat/neutral
>>11668785Comparison with PGV and Boris Ping swimsuit girls
>>11668785Forgot to mention she's got a hint of nail polish going on. Also, unlike the previously shown figures her swimsuit is molded on and not a separate piece. Anyway, hear's the Evangelion one I mentioned. As precarious as the size makes it I look forward to basically a 1/18 SH Figuarts Asuka and Rei
>>11666814I asked a friend of mine who happens to be a turbo nerd and also played a lot of kof98, according to him Leona is a tall girl.
>>11670058She's 5ft8 to 5ft9¾ in the KoF games she's appeared in, so while above average for a female, she's should still be shorter than the presumed 4inch = 6ft of 1/18, no?
Combination of heng long 1/16 tanks, 21st century half track, pak 40, and flak 88, along with joytoy figures. Really like how everything looks. The tanks are just about right size too
>>11671916>>11672590Kinocinema>>11672572youre right about the tanks! I much rather see the tanks be on the bigger side then being shorties! also, what does anyone think about 1/16 cars? do they work better with Joes than 1/18?
>>11673388>I much rather see the tanks be on the bigger side then being shorties!Completely agree. Joytoy is already on the taller end of 1:18 and heng long tanks aren’t exactly 1:16, so it ended up working out nicely that just about everything lines up now
>>11654643>>11654644Awesome
>>11674604I missed out on the Aliens figures from Chap Mei lol. I should have bought the power armor
>>11675988I thought it was Lanard not Chap Mei who did the super cheapo Alien and Predator stuff. I know I got the Aliens APC from that line, and it's adorably small and simple. It can fit three figures, but not very comfortably, and the third guy just kind of rattles about in the back since he doesn't actually have a seat. But had I seen more of em, I probably would've grabbed a few more because it would've been a great cheap armored vehicle to army build.
