Hi /toy/, I have a 25" NECA Balrog from 2004 and over the years it has started to warp and loosen up at the leg joints under its own weight. I'm wondering what would be the best way to keep this thing standing.

>drill peg holes into bottom of feet and create a stand that keeps the legs from spreading apart
>glue all leg joints (the articulation here is pointless anyway)
>heat gun to attempt to fix the warped tail and/or warped leg

Any ideas?
>>
Just glue the legs together, this isn’t worth your time

It's an expensive toy, bro. It's worth saving.

And I must be having a Mandela effect moment here, but when did the Balroq become the Balrog?

>>11656444
Use a joint-tightening liquid. Yes it does exist.
>>
>>11656450
If I were to go that route I would saw through the existing peg, sand the mating surfaces flush, install two dowels, and then glue the leg in postion.
>>11656458
I don't believe the joint tightening liquid will be enough because loose rotation is not my problem. The joint has spread such that there is a significant gap at the hip, so the roataion I have a problem with is from that joint spreading.

Michale Franch found a basement under his house, in which the equipments turned him into another person:
Retroblaster.

With this mask, Retroblaster stroke all criminal activates and criminals everywhere, such as Randy, the chief of NECA , Doctor Jackstraw, the abnormal toy trafficker, the sneaky Toy-Swaper and even a mysterious opponents quite familiar with him

I'd start by heatgunning the legs and putting them into a device that keeps them in the desired position for some days.
For the joints, maybe a dedicated joint tightening liquid rather than glue. It may be tricky if they don't disassemble easily (plastics from 20 years ago were usually not as soft as current ones).
>>
Submerge the lower body into super hot water to reset the plastic (test on on the foot and end of the tail first though. leave it there for 10 minutes to see what happens). The warping problem should be fixed.

Get a stand. don't damage your figure by drilling anything.

You can use acrylic paint to fix the joints being loosened. Air brush clear acrylics like this are good.

A heat gun can work, but the heat doesn't fully get into the joints like water would.

Also, did the figure come fully assembled like that out of the box? Because you'll want to shake the figure dry and those longass wings might snap off when you do that. You'll want to pop off any limbs you can before shaking it dry.
Otherwise... you'll need to let the water drain out over the next few days by rotating the figure upside-down/sideways-left/sideways-right/rightside-up/laying-down/laying-up/etc in front of a fan.

Hot water sounds like a good first thing to try, the wings do come off. I'll need to see if my stock pot is even big enough for this guy.

Aragorn looks like he's smelling something really fucked-up in that pic.
>>
>>11656590
jeebus, that's massive.

Also, don't you have a bucket? Just dump hot water into a bucket or some large container.

I have a cheapo bucket of Bubble Gum just for oversized projects. Shit deforms like crazy from the heat, but i constantly buy gum, so I'll have another in a couple of months.
A bucket meant for mops (or other cleaning duties) wouldn't deform though.

Legendary figure, I say you should try making a stand for him. You could screw some screws into a board and cover them with miliput, that would hypothetically stop his legs from drifting. You could do it up to look like a hellish volcanic environment.

Tether it to a wall. Seriously, this is the worst engineered toy known to man. It is so ridiculously top heavy and there was ZERO point to have any leg articulation on this thing (other than to move the legs into a stupid position to actually support the top half). This realistically should have been a statue with attached base from the waist down with articulated arms and head. The wing pegs are terrible, with notches that shear off almost immediately.

It's impressive as a release in terms of stature (and basically designed to intermingle with your Toy Biz LOTR figures) but execution is so incredibly poor.

How yours still has the wings attached ok has me dumbfounded, they should have collapse their support pegs long ago due to their weight alone.

I know someone who got so sick and tired of the whole thing collapsing he tossed it completely (lol, I would have taken it off him). Mine has been glued so many times to keep parts in place it was almost beyond saving. But I then decided to find its forever home, drilling anchoring screws into the wall and tether it with wire and it has remained in place for years with no further worry of collapse. But dang me, it's such a CUNT of a design as an action figure.

>they should have collapse their support pegs long ago due to their weight alon
This right here shows how stupid you are and how little you know about the toy.

And you're just a cunt. Funny.

>The wing pegs are terrible, with notches that shear off almost immediately.
Hey, that happened to mine. Also the sword warped badly so I tried to use heat to straighten it out and the second I applied pressure the damned thing exploded like an Iraqi IED sending shards of plastic in every direction. It was pretty funny. I got rid of it a while back, but wish I had kept it because I got into Mythic Legions since then. It really was impressive despite the flaws.

That doesn't actually happen. I thi k you just admitted to being a hamhanded moron.
