That's no mystery, but for his possible poseability, he won't be worth whatever obscene price they ask, no matter how much I like the movie

Anyone own any Maursan figure by chance? I say since may pick one up since I heard they're like Marmit in the investment kind of deal in the collecting community be it Japanese or overseas. Plus always liked those more artsy sofubi figure lines.

Enjoy the Bandai rape $450 price tag.

I don't own a Marusan myself. Closest thing I have in my possession is pic related. This right here is a Marmit 1962 (I think parababy) Godzilla with a Nato Base building. I sadly took it out the bag like a idiot 15-17 years ago. Reason was when I got it, I mainly did so because around that time I was looking for a 1962 Godzilla to go with my movie monster series collection I had. Back then, the 1962 memorial box as well as the likes of 1964 and 1984 were going over 200 ish dollars so me and my high school ass couldn't afford it so got this as my stand in for about 30-40 dollars. I now obviously own the actual figures in question, but kept this guy around because of the history had with it, and it's kind of cool in its own right. As of right now, think this exact figure with unopened with the bad and header is going for 150ish-200 dollars. Wish still had the bag and header, but hoping it's around somewhere in my house since fairly certain I never threw them out.

when will we get Godzilla minus two?

Ain't no way its coming out for under $500 and will be a bare bones release to boot. Bandai have gotten greedy with this line.

Anyone know how to make the connection more secure on hiya Ghidorah 's right head? It doesn't feel like it's going in all the way

Marusan is the original producer of sofubi godzilla toys in the 60s so there is extra cred there. I don't know what kind of investment return you're looking for here, the market for genuine vintage marusan is ruthless at this point.

He could barely fucking move so I'm not expecting the figure to be able to do much.

Buying toys as an investment is never a good idea. That said, almost all soft vinyl/sofubi are made in limited runs and generally go up in value over time. The maker matters less than how many were made in a run and how desirable the mold or colorway is.
I have several from Marusan, Marmit, Bullmark and Gigabrain. I personally like the Marmit sculpts the best, but its all personal opinion. Soft vinyl is made to "look cool" and that's it. Base your entire decision to get one on how you think it looks, not how much it might eventually be worth. Keep the header from the bag and you can sell it later if you choose.

I know, but seeing the prices of some of the brands you listed make me want to consider it because damn some of them fetch a pretty penny, and doesn't help either this video may of been the reason why I kind of want to get into this game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5neRq6wZodo&t=49s

Some toys can appreciate in value quite a bit, but remember, you still have to be able to actually find a buyer willing to pay you. This means going to a swap or convention, or more likely using ebay. Toy buyers on ebay can be some of the absolute worst people on earth to deal with. You will get harassed and scammed at every opportunity. If you want to collect a toy, collect it for yourself.. not to sell it later.

Well a part of me wants to at least own something I know for a fact is like a one of a kind figure or close to it that at least some form of value down the line.
