That's no mystery, but for his possible poseability, he won't be worth whatever obscene price they ask, no matter how much I like the movie
>>
Anyone own any Maursan figure by chance? I say since may pick one up since I heard they're like Marmit in the investment kind of deal in the collecting community be it Japanese or overseas. Plus always liked those more artsy sofubi figure lines.
>>
>>11659535
Enjoy the Bandai rape $450 price tag.
>>
>>11659572
I don't own a Marusan myself. Closest thing I have in my possession is pic related. This right here is a Marmit 1962 (I think parababy) Godzilla with a Nato Base building. I sadly took it out the bag like a idiot 15-17 years ago. Reason was when I got it, I mainly did so because around that time I was looking for a 1962 Godzilla to go with my movie monster series collection I had. Back then, the 1962 memorial box as well as the likes of 1964 and 1984 were going over 200 ish dollars so me and my high school ass couldn't afford it so got this as my stand in for about 30-40 dollars. I now obviously own the actual figures in question, but kept this guy around because of the history had with it, and it's kind of cool in its own right. As of right now, think this exact figure with unopened with the bad and header is going for 150ish-200 dollars. Wish still had the bag and header, but hoping it's around somewhere in my house since fairly certain I never threw them out.
>>
when will we get Godzilla minus two?
>>
>>11659614
Ain't no way its coming out for under $500 and will be a bare bones release to boot. Bandai have gotten greedy with this line.
>>
Anyone know how to make the connection more secure on hiya Ghidorah 's right head? It doesn't feel like it's going in all the way
>>
>>11659572
> I say since may pick one up since I heard they're like Marmit in the investment kind of deal
Marusan is the original producer of sofubi godzilla toys in the 60s so there is extra cred there. I don't know what kind of investment return you're looking for here, the market for genuine vintage marusan is ruthless at this point.
>>
>>11659554
He could barely fucking move so I'm not expecting the figure to be able to do much.
>>
>>11659572
Buying toys as an investment is never a good idea. That said, almost all soft vinyl/sofubi are made in limited runs and generally go up in value over time. The maker matters less than how many were made in a run and how desirable the mold or colorway is.
I have several from Marusan, Marmit, Bullmark and Gigabrain. I personally like the Marmit sculpts the best, but its all personal opinion. Soft vinyl is made to "look cool" and that's it. Base your entire decision to get one on how you think it looks, not how much it might eventually be worth. Keep the header from the bag and you can sell it later if you choose.
>>
>>11659890
>Buying toys as an investment is never a good idea.
I know, but seeing the prices of some of the brands you listed make me want to consider it because damn some of them fetch a pretty penny, and doesn't help either this video may of been the reason why I kind of want to get into this game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5neRq6wZodo&t=49s
>>
>>11659930
Some toys can appreciate in value quite a bit, but remember, you still have to be able to actually find a buyer willing to pay you. This means going to a swap or convention, or more likely using ebay. Toy buyers on ebay can be some of the absolute worst people on earth to deal with. You will get harassed and scammed at every opportunity. If you want to collect a toy, collect it for yourself.. not to sell it later.
>>
>>11659961
Well a part of me wants to at least own something I know for a fact is like a one of a kind figure or close to it that at least some form of value down the line.
>>
>>11659822
Wow, not even I can imagine they would go 500
>>
>>11659987
>Well a part of me wants to at least own something I know for a fact is like a one of a kind figure or close to it that at least some form of value down the line.

But something cheap and re-paint it into a unique work or art.
>>
>>11659987
Then start small like a more recently released Maursan or Marmit. I recommend getting say a King Ghidorah or a Heisei Godzilla if you can since those tend to be the most valuable down the line.
>>11660200
There's a difference between something you yourself will enjoy and have no value than something you buy that's official and gain value later. A collection is good, but a collection that has value when times get bad on your end is even better. But then again, better to invest into volcano insurance than toys I guess lol.
>>
>>11660321
You just need to realize how small the big money goji collecting community is. Toys are a bad investment.
>>
>>11660583
>You just need to realize how small the big money goji collecting community is.
Well that depends on what you mean by community. Overseas, it is indeed small. In Japan however, there's a reason why those figures continue to only get more expensive by the year. If there really was no market, then the resellers would be out of a gig.
>>
>>11659572
>I heard they're like Marmit in the investment kind of deal in the collecting community be it Japanese or overseas

You won't get rich with toys, never ever. Scalping shit is bad as it is, too, if you want to get money I suggest you to submit some job applications.
>>
>>11660993
You can equally say buying toys in general is a waste of money. May as well call /toy/ thread "/ms/" which stands for money stolen.
>>
>>11660993
>You won't get rich with toys
Most won't.
>>11660993
>Scalping shit is bad as it is
Yes because retards actually are willingly going to spend such, otherwise scalping wouldn't exist.
>>11660993
>if you want to get money I suggest you to submit some job applications.
Wrong answer my dude. You start a business up if you want money, not wage slave it for someone else.

I think the way most people "buy toys" is a waste of money because it's the shopping, keeping up with releases and shitposting that is the hobby. Once the thing is bought it's basically forgotten because NEXT THING is on the horizon. Same with the rest of this shitshow of a civilization really. Monetized and gameified fake and gay facsimilies of life but it's just a hamsterwheel.

Speaking of Marusan/Marmit. Anyone know how many of a figure with a certain paintjob is usually made for either? I say since I know Y-MSF usually gives details that he makes 400 standard units of a figure and then 50 or less on the see through, mono colored, glow in the dark figures etc.

Is there a King Ghidorah that would scale decently with Motu figures?
Not like perfectly because Ghidorah is huge but enough that he would still look imposing.

It's amazing that the Monsterarts line has done Legion and Iris, but hasn't touched on Gyaos at all. Even if they did he'd probably be $100+ and unsuitable for army building.
>>
>>11664907
Yeah, I don't understand why they are going backwards on the Gamera films. If they do a Gyaos, I imagine it might be like Megaguirus and include smaller, pre-evolved Gyaos.
>>
Is the new monsterarts Destoroyah out yet?
>>
>>11665027
Or a flock of little Gyaos, like Singular Point Rodan. I think that's one of the more fun accessories a MonsterArts figure has included.

I could see 67 being him either sleeping or he holding Minilla during the snow storm, but 1992 Godzilla curious what pose would he be doing? Also this sadly means a standard 1967 Godzilla is likely going to also be a P-Bandai Exclusive just like how 1965 was (And is still not fucking out yet.)
>1966 figure is actually being made
And for this I'm not sure what more than they can do besides give him the water damaged head. But the good news is this guy seems to be a standard release which honestly is a good thing since Ebirah was also a standard release.

Thoughts on Super7's Spacegodzilla(s)? I don't like most of their "godzillas", but I like the look of this guy. I also have their Meltdown G and Destoroyah and they're both p cool.

If you already have the Meltdown and the Destoroyah, then sure since you pretty much know what most Big Super 7 figures are basically. Your only real options for a Trendmaster color Spacegodzilla again is this or Mondo (and obviously the Trendmaster originals.) This one is think is the better option and cheaper option of the two options, least until we see a world where HIYA or SHMA does it.
