which LOTR movie had the best toyline?
There was also a pre-movie toyline. 2 actually.

>>11660671My mom used to work as a housekeeper, and when people would leave shit behind in their rooms after checking out, they'd keep it if it was interesting. One day she came home with that line's Gandalf the Grey, and found the rest of the accessories the next day.His hat is molded to his hair, and his bags slot into little holes on his belt, and he has a hexagonal stand with a bit of the Middle Earth map on it.She gave it to her brother, who's always been a big LotR fan.
I bought a bunch of the Toy Biz elven warriors recently but my main fix is Games Workshop's Middle Earth strategy battle game.

>>11660656I wish the LOTR toys were better. I have fond memories of them but in hindsight they weren't great.
>>11660672Wow, I've had tht Sam for 30+ years but always thought he was Frodo as I didn't really know anything about the line. My mind is blown.
>>11661362fuck yeah, looks radI loved going to the mall around the LOTR movie releases, because the GW store would have IMPRESSIVE displays, front and center. Never did army build that one, but I have the old metal fellowship.
Still want to own this one
>>11660672now that's more how my mind envisioned Gollum
>>11668212Bakshi LOTR had some fun designs. Saruman looks creepy and untrustworthy from the get-go, the Balrog was a rotoscoped dude in a costume, Sauron in the flashback into has two big ass horns on his helm, it's such a trip.
>>11667812I saw someone buy it at Baltimore Comic con circa 2006~9… I wish I grabbed it.I was collecting Starwars and Transformers at the time but i cherry picked the Toybiz LOTR. Now I wish I grabbed more. I probably had about 20-30 figures or so.
have a friend who had been into LOTR, Doctor Who etc for decades before they went mainstream, old school 80s nerd. He had every single one of the Toy Biz LOTR figures and and playsets released. Only 2 he was missing were the special Peter Jackson one of the twilight ringwraith (or witch king, cant remember) specifically with the flaming sword. Really was an awesome collection.
I bought the Sauron figure recently and I accidentally twisted the mace holding hand off and had to glue it back on. It still looks nice, it’s the Toybiz one, but maybe I’ll get the diamond select build a figure one which I’ve heard is a better figure
>>11660672The Rankin Bass Hobbit film also got a couple figs more recently. Nothing for their Return of the King animated film tho.
>>11668681$50 each for a 5.8 inch statue. Yeah, no.
I've had this guy for a long time. The bubble looks like it's been chain smoking. Should I crack him open?
>>11673222Yes, free him!
