>one of my favorite gundam get a MRD>25000+14% tarrif+ shippingIs it really worth nearly 29k?Only MRD i ever bought was huckbein 20th which was just a retool of the old ver ka metal line+ a few guns so I dont think that is a good indicator.

>>11666882>bro a few days ago I got in buyee a MB Crossbone X-3 for 26k yen + 7k yen for shippingI dunno man youre talking to a fucking retard who bought x0/x1 FC MB despite thinking that the Xbones arent great MB due to how skiny/flimsy they feel.Honestly the huckbein 30th was overpriced for its time too, I just wanted a huckbein figure but now I have like 4 of them because bandai cant stop releasing them.

>>11667355- minimal new releases- of those, almost all of them are pbandai- crazy price increases, any MRD nowdays costs over 30k yen, which was the average price of a Metal Build just a few years ago- incredibly, no other competitors, at least in the 144 scale. No one else besides Bandai makes mecha figures at this size. 1/100 and bigger scales have many other chinese companies but the smaller stuff is prey to a monopoly>>11667515wonder who that is
>>11667592Yeah I’ve largely given up on this line thanks to how it’s been treated lately and just buy those larger robot toys instead these days like riobot, pose+, the gattai, etc. But they don’t ever get much discussion here, a lot of them are too expensive for other anons and they mostly just do the hero mechs so you lose a lot of the variety you get at this scale.
>>11667513>chogokinoh it will be fucking huge right?
Would any euro anon be interested in ayre ? I bought her on release, opened the box to check contents then proceeded to never do anything. The box has been sitting next to me for more than a year. Was going to put up a listing on vinted for 120 euros but figured I'd ask here first. Don't want to post on /bst/ for a single figure

>>11666882about that, it is finally here, the one I was missing to complete the original trioit is not perfect sadly, what really irks me is that instead of giving you the effect parts of the I Fields, you know, the MAIN defense feature of this suit, you are stuck with the big chunk of plastic of the Elegorelawhile I do appreciate its inclusion to recreate the scene in the manga, the fact Bandai blatantly neglected to give those effect parts and sold them exclusively in the Patchwork, probably the most bare bones MB release of the crossbones, is inexcusable, not to mention fucking Ebikawa found a way to slip in outside the 00 releases

>>11668782I’m not actually defending this, but at the very least this is a reprint of a figure for those who may have missed out on the original run. That’s all I got though. Of course this comes at the increased cost of current pricing for RDs, so it’s a full 10k Yen more expensive than the original release…
>>11669363>this is a reprint of a figure for those who may have missed out on the original runExactly, there is no reason to bitch about this if you have a 80 IQ level understanding of business. The original release sold good, mint copies are going for way higher now, so Bandai reprints it.Oh boo hoo, they released this instead of the thing you wanted. That's life, bitch.

You guys ever buy a figure that you wanted for a long time, then after getting it in hand realize you don't really enjoy it that much?I'm realizing I'm having this with the Metal Build Evangelion 02. I've been trying to pose it and put it on display for the last few weeks, but I'm now realizing it doesn't really do anything for me. I had much more fun with the Robot Spirits version of the Evangelion than the Metal build. The only advantage the metal build has was the paintjob, size and accessories. Otherwise the Robot spirits figure is like 10x more enjoyable.
>>11671043Not really surprised, RD are meant to be posed and played with like a desktop toy. Metal builds, like most other high end toys are more something you stick in a display case and maybe change the pose of once every couple weeks.
>>11671048Yeah, that's what I was doing with the MB 02, but something about the sculpt just doesn't appeal to me like the RD does.Metal Build designs tend to be very hit or miss for me though. I still would like a nice Eva figure as a display piece though. As much as I like the RD it doesn't have enough presence to sit in a case imo.
>>11671054The threezero evas are quite good and similarly large if you want something accurate to the original design. I only have 01, but no complaints with it. I'd buy the others but they're supposed to be working on the tv designs and I'd much rather have those.
>>11671059How is the Dynaction unit-01? It seems to be a larger version of the RD.

anyone here got the Metal Build F91? I'm tempted to get the blue one
>>11671434It feels hollow and the legs buckle under it's own weight, I dont trust the knees or thigh joints long term. Pose-ability is phenomenal, absolutely the best articulation for an eva and it's a really sharp sculpt. Mine did come with scratches on the forearms new out of box, I personally prefer the Threezero Eva's, not as posable but sturdy and hefty. Balalance better with a nice paint job snd detail. Dynation is also fucking huge.
WHEN can I have one?I lost out on getting a Golden Falcon. I need 1, so badly.

>>11672546I still hope for it too. It would look so nice with a shiny blue paintjob. I was pretty lucky for yellow 00, got the first release for a relatively good price on the now deceased global freaks shop
>>11670350Just the massive RX-78-2
>>11670350Mostly Moderoid kits, especially that Ordian and Bismark.
>>11672546Same. I dunno if it was you but i remember other anons and i asking WHERES BLUE here when eva 00mb was announced.
>>11670350MRD Hyzenthlay II or Keehar IIWe're so close I can taste it
>>11672145I specifically have the blue one and it’s pretty solid, from the gloss finish era so will be a fingerprint magnet. All the gimmicks are pretty fun but can be a little fiddly, and the VSBRs could stand be a little more secure IMO. Broadly it’s a really fun figure, I don’t have a standard color version yet so I’m hoping they do another rerelease this year with the MSV parts bundled in again for the 35th anniversary.
>>11672527i love this Eva - I have both 01 & 02 and they're great. Only problem is that, with time, its joints start getting a tad loose as the weight forces it too much
>>11673223>Only problem is that, with time, its joints start getting a tad loose as the weight forces it too muchI bought mine from Amazon and came with a semi-loose knee join, i fixed it using "Loctite threadlocker blue 243", just apply a little bit on the loose joints and keep moving it until it's dry (be very careful to keep moving it from time to time during the same day you apply it or it'll remain glued).Already fixed this Eva and the MB Astraea using it and those joints haven't loosen up again yet.
>>11673084>fingerprint magnetthat's what really worries me, reason why I'm still on the fence about getting itthat and waiting a bit maybe to try to get the old MG instead for a fraction of price, not to mention that one comes in the Steel 7 colors
>>11673237Just to make sure, pic related is the one ? Two of my MB evas have a loose right arm. I'm going to repose most of them soon so might as well finally fix it

>>11672527Love the detail, absolute despise the head sculpt.
>>11674720What bothers me most isn't the sculpt but that small part on a ball joint connecting the jaw and the neck, can barely turn the head around. I know it can be removed but then any pose with the eva looking up will look weird because there'll be a massive gap between the head and the neck

>>11674754Yeah that sounds dumb, I know the articulation is naturally restricted by the sculpt but the dynaction had a crazy neck from what I remember. Would be nice if that was implemented in other kits, the Robot Spirits even has an extending neck joint.
Forgive me for this meme picture. Went ahead and used loctite on 2020 01 because the feet were so loose it couldn't even stand. Loctite is so liquid and slow to dry that it went beyond the joints and seeped through the feet armor parts, tried to carefully clean it but it damaged the paint. They aren't loose anymore. I also tightened the right knee and elbow, no disaster here. I feel like glue would have been a better choice for the foot joints. The hips are also somewhat loose but not to the point of not being able to stand. I'm planning to change the pose of both my MB 02, I hope their joints hold up because what a pain that was. If loctite would dry faster it wouldn't feel like such a chore. Anybody tried that joint tightener pen ? I don't imagine it works well on metal joints>>11676057I got the RAH eva 01 over the dynaction. Not sure how the articulation compares, I didn't play with it much and don't remember much either. I do remember seeing people liking the dynaction one more
>>11676099The pen is made more for ballhoints/pegs and leaves more of a thin layer of silicone.
>>11676016I wasn't aware of this animation. I was of the other one. Thanks.
>>11676533funnyly enough Hasegawa himself, the author of all the crossbone mangas, was surprised and commented about that video in his blog, saying it pumped him to draw even more exciting stuffhere is the old onehttps://youtu.be/gtRtaMWoYxM?si=YEN9OHU2pNJ7EI9qalso, messing around a bit with that Ghost Gundam and holy shit, so many options you get to display it with the effect parts, the weapons and retarded transformation, the shelf space you need is very large if you attach all the flaming effectsa small con is the head, you need to disassemble entirely and place whole new parts for both halves of the helmet to attach the face plates, with different molds required if you want to use the open mouth vent optionneat design but the execution is bad, as the whole thing is very fragile and prone to fall off very easily
what's the best Kos Mos figure?
>>11676990I think the only option is the figma
>>11676016>>11676866>crossbone anime never everI genuinely don't get it, shit got already lots of MBs, RD figures and kits alreadythe original entry is simple, straightforward with cool characters and even winks to previous series, why they refuse to animate it? or is Tobia way too based for a MC nowdays?
>>11677385I think that ship sailed long ago, back when the crossbone gundam got a fucking HG kityou all know bandai and sunrise make gundam series as toys commercials, so there would be no point in making a series for something that already has lots of merchandise out there (maybe a MG renewal?)the problem is the crossbone is a mold milked to fucking death, sure it is cool but it is not the only suit in the series and sadly, it seems the jovian empire has too much of wacky designs to even be considered (only the final boss from Steel 7 got a HG kit with that hand MA thing >>11667152). I can only see the Amakusa getting a HG and that is a big maybealso, yes Tobia is so based he makes every other gundam MC look bad, especially after how shitty the last series have been in that regard:>NEVER bitches or whines about his situation>slowly climbs up the ladder from grunt pilot to ace>he piloted ALL the crossbone gundams>battled DEERS>disregards all the newtype fuckery as mere bullshit>saved the fucking earth by destroying a fuckhuge colony laser in wat was a suicide mission>saves his girl and even has a family with her>serves as the grown up mentor for the next generation>survives far beyond the victory era events serving as a cool spy for jupiterthere is no comparison, even if you only take him up to the steel 7 finale
>>11674574any improvement? wasn't the MB Hi Nu kinda shit in the first place?
Have any of you ever had to touch up a figure with paint?
To elaborate on >>11678824, I have an idea that might be kinda out there.I'm really into the End of Eva version of the 02 design, but only one figure exists and it's like 20 years old and pretty expensive online. So I'm considering grabbing a RD Eva-02 and painting some of its parts to match the End of Eva version. After comparing the 2 it actually appears that the EoE design is closer to the rebuilds than I thought, so sculpt wise there wouldn't need to be too many adjustments. Is this idea too far out there or is this feasible? I've painted and sculpted gunpla before, but I'm not sure how similar the plastic of RDs is and I wonder if there's any precautions I should take since they're not designed to be customized like that.
>>11678842Definitely doable but a pain in the ass especially if airbrushing paint. You'd be better off getting and customizing the koto tv ver kit
>>11678987I considered it, but the RD's proportions are closer to the EoE it seems. The tv version has that super wide upper chest
>>11678536If Bandai has not improved the funnel attachment problem, collectors are going to be pissed. It was loudly known online that getting the things on was a major problem, Bandai would have been aware of it for sure.
>>11678536The funnel connection was really badly engineered, but otherwise the only real problem the figure has is the paint QC lottery. Most of them are fine, but the ones that are bad are really, really bad with bubbling. As always its bandai so you can't trust them to actually improve there, we just saw how the god gundam came out.
>>11673524Sorry for the late reply, yeah that's the one. Just be careful about moving the joint so it doesn't get stuck in place.
>>11679113gonna aim for film accuracy, but while editing this I noticed it looks pretty nice with the black pylons
>>11680501Every joint that needed fixing got fixed but I damaged the paint on some spots >>11676099, worst being 2020 01's feet which isn't that bad honestly. Such is the price to pay for careless hands. I renewed the poses too, not much room for action poses so they got a basic standing pose. Only missing blue 00, any day now...
>>11681558What a collection, care to share your whole display?
ROBOT魂 <SIDE LABOR>で「AV-98Plus イングラム(イングラム・プラス)」Updated ingram?Didn't they just did a reissue last October?
>>11681608I posted my bedroom display on buyfag recently >>>/a/285382535I have another display room with more of the same, I can catbox it if you wish but expect the same trash tier picture quality as I only have my old phone to take pictures with>>11680614Are you going to take the masking route or are you going to attempt taking the armor apart ? I imagine you can at least easily take the arms, legs and head apart which will make things simpler. I hope you post about the process and the final result. Modifying figures can be a huge pain in the ass, I'm interested, especially since you want to turn the inferior rebuild 02 into the better 02
>>11682228I think I'm gonna have to disassemble it. I have the RD Eva-01 so I've been inspecting it to figure out where all the seams are.It looks like the way the parts are designed to fit together is similar to how Bandai designs their plamo. Just that they use glue and do some seam welding. One thing that concerns me is how to take apart the figure without damaging it too much. Minor damage I can fix with glue or modeling putty, but if I break a joint it's gonna give me a headache. I'm hoping I can do this as non-invasively as possible. If I can get away with just painting the parts I wanted to change that would be great, but since I'm working with the RD Eva-02 beta version I may need to repaint all the red armor parts so it matches the EoE colors.Once I'm done with the main body I'm also planning to scratch build the prog knife, needle launcher and MP Eva blade. I'll definitely be documenting the process as well.
>>11681965The reissue comes out in a couple months I think, probably because the new movie is coming out soon. This one is supposed to be based on the redesign from the movie though.
It wasn't intentional, but I noticed most of the mecha figures I like are designs from the 00s. I want to get a VF-0 or VF-25 next.
>>11682525Turn Strike's rifle up straight.
>>11682525It's not like we had a lot of variety for the past 16 years. Anyway, there was a lot of good stuff that decade, the 00 Gundam designs (mostly S1 and the movie) are still some of my favorites. That being said, I was never a fan of the VF's after 7, they look too lanky since they're now made with the idea that they should transform perfectly with their space or armor packs.
>>11682578Make me
I've been collecting more RDs lately and I'm really impressed with most of them. The latest I acquired is the Lancelot, although it's an older figure from 2015 the range of motion on this toy is just absolutely fantastic. It can pull off almost any pose. The sculpt is also incredibly dynamic, like a version ANIME figure, so no matter what pose it's making it looks great. It also comes with a generous amount of accessories. I wish bandai had made more Code Geass RDs, because I would've loved a police sutherland or sutherland air.The only downside is some of the plastic feels cheap and thin, there's no heft, especially compared to newer RDs or Metal Builds.I'm also really starting to really understand the difference in Metal Builds and Robot Spirits figures. There's a Toy-Sculpture spectrum where the MBs fall towards the later. I'm more interested in finding figures that can balance the two well. I feel that RDs tend to do this excellently, though I wish they were slightly bigger and had better paint apps.
