>already forgottenYou guys told me this was the second coming of Christ on how much you hyped it, why did it fail?
Because it’s based on the flavor of the month, shitty “Spy Kids” looking Netflix show instead of the timeless universally appealing manga/anime.

>>11670492Is there big difference?
>>11670864They’re very different. Like the MCU compared to the comic books, for example.
>>11670864One just looks like a manga/anime the other looks like a Bollywood production for stupid browns.
>>11670492>>11670864I tried to watch the animeit was grating, the leading guy's voice was nails on a chalkboard. (yes the dub. I'm not reading a book on my TV to try the subtitled version. not for a cartoon) so I had to stop. rare for me, but it was too muchb-but it really gets amazing after episode 347!!! like what? who even does that? there are 1155 episodes, and the story is still going...I knew it was popular, so I gave the Netflix version a try, and it was amazing on episode 1. the whole first season was solid gold. be a good marine, be a good pirate. tears. so good.sorry, anime fans. you have to accept that the live action version is better. it's the truth. I hope they can make more before those actors turn into old people. Netflix is terrible about that.
>>11671593>it was grating, the leading guy's voice was nails on a chalkboardRead the manga, you can just mentally voicecast the characters as you go. The artstyle doesn't translate well to animation anyways, much less the live action attempt. Live action is an insult to the look and feel of the source material. The manga looks great as it is.>yes the dub. I'm not reading a book on my TV to try the subtitled version. not for a cartoonLearn how to read. If you can't read subs in just a glance you must have a double digit IQ.>b-but it really gets amazing after episode 347!!!It's good from the first chapter. Luffy is a fun character to follow.
>>11670864Yea there's a pretty big difference when it comes to the faces even when you account for minifig stylization. The unofficial Luffy on the left is what an anime/manga based one would've looked like.
>>11671593Live action One Piece is just as bad and cringe as live action Bebop was. The only reason the anime is bad is because they stretch out what should be one episode into ten. But even then the early arcs are pretty good for shonen
One piece is slop and fake hype. Literally one of the worst animes ever and only npcs conzoom that shit

>>11671826The many different skin tones feel jarring and forced. I honestly think this is one of those licensed themes where they would have benefited from making all the characters' skin Lego yellow.
>>11669650Wan Piss sucks, always has done. No surprise the toys don't sell.
>>11672054The original show had the characters various shades of tan assuming they would be after being at sea and accounting for their personalities how tan they would get, like Usopp, Zoro, Luffy and Robin being outdoorsy adventurous types and Nami and Sanji protecting their lily white skin, it definitely looked better than Oda deciding they all had the be the exact same skintone. But I guess Oda isn’t really known for great colouring decisions. At the least they should have gotten permissions to include some swappable parts to make the crew more anime to expand the consumer audience who would really want One Piece Legos.
>>11671805>>yes the dub. I'm not reading a book on my TV to try the subtitled version. not for a cartoon>Learn how to read. If you can't read subs in just a glance you must have a double digit IQ.I'm smart enough to know the difference between a TV and a book.I'm one of those people who would rather WATCH the screen rather than read it. nobody is "glancing" at the subtitles. you are looking at the words. focusing on the language. trying to match the voice tones to the word beats. what word are they emphasizing? he sounds angry or sad.... nobody is like a ninja master, mentally trained to read those words and still concentrate on the action above them. you might think you've had a lot of practice, but no. you are looking at words. reading your TV like a book.
>>11672114Way to overcomplicate things just to excuse your shitty reading skills.
>>11671593>>11672114why do Americans pretend they invented anime and declare live action as superior and badass to silly cartoon about pirates?
>>11672083>bro it gets gud at episode 275!
I got this set for my little brother for Christmas. I also got him the 3P minifigs because who wants the Netflix specific ones. They were a little scary to put together because of all the unofficial parts but otherwise look great. I've had a lot of fun building it with him. :)
>>11672187>why do Americans pretend they invented animeWhile this is "technically" right if we consider Osamu Tezuka copied Disney and Japan copied him, the reason is mainly ego. The same reason they believe their dubs arw superior.
>>11672187Why do you pretend to be American Athena when you very much hate us?
>>11669650The second wave of sets are coming
>>11671826>The unofficial Luffy on the left is what an anime/manga based one would've looked like.Nope Lego dont change thestyle of minifig that much anymore.
