Anyone backing this? The guy making it died just after Christmas, it was his dream to finally get the Mighty Orbots figure out there since the original was cancelled. It's already at nearly $86 thousand of $95 thousand needed. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/themightyorbots/mighty-orbots-deluxe-combining-12-figure-1985-edition
It definitely holds true to the style of an 80s toy. Still a fun looking toy.
>>11670218I would love to buy this set. However, I am NOT willing to pay $300 for it. The price is beyond ridiculous.
>>11670222Eh, the size and unique tooling makes the price okay. Definitely not for everyone though.
>>11670218Check the catalog anon, there's already a thread.>>11656109
>>11670455For whatever reason, it's autosage-ing.
>>11670587Because it's the dumb two week thing. And the Kickstarter has a few days left, so better to have a new thread.
>5POA-hipster trashNot my thing, but there's vintage dweebs out there who lo->$300What the fuck??
>>11670587>>11670596The other thread isn't going to die before discussion about this thing ends.
>>11670645Thanks for the bump
>>11670646Who cares about the bump? The whole point is that this is a slow board, newfag.
>>11670218>The guy making it died just after ChristmasNot gonna lie. That's absolutely terrible. For the sake of his memory I hope it succeeds.
Man, its up to 90kThey only need to sell like 17 or 18 more
>>11670289>the size and unique tooling makes the price okayNot a chance. Each team member appears to be far too simplistically designed for the price. If you caught me in an overly nostalgic mood, I'd be willing to pay between $150-$180 for something like this, *maybe* $200 at the absolute most. But $300? No way.
8 to go
>>11670979You're in for a sore surprise when it comes to how much it costs to make something like this.
I have no real interest in this as a toy but it brings me great joy to see the anon from the last thread who was seething about this thing saying it would fail being proven wrong, kek.
>>11671108They did it.Good for that guy who died that loved this show God speed, robot loverhttps://youtu.be/kaSJL18lJmw
>>11670913Yeah, it's unfortunate. I guess it was cancer? I do hope this happens just to...be a nice contribution to the world.
>>11670979Dude, they are probably making these with child labor and spitThe print run as of right now is like 317 toys. I don't have any idea how they are going to recoup the cost of molds at a couple grand a pop. They must have north Korea milling them for pennies
>>11671197I think it's that raman toys guy doing it so...yeah
>>11671201I've heard the name before but never checked their track record. I guess that says better than worse if there's no outstanding horrible past issues with Ramen Toys.
>>11671203From what little I know about ramen:High price. Often $185 for essentially $65 toysAccurate 80s like toys. Rubber tires. Chrome. Solid plastic. Correct size or a hair bigger.Does properties everyone else forgets.Good stuff, but you're going to pay
>>11671219They're horribly over-priced. They hope that a sense of nostalgia will over-ride any sense of financial reason.
The only two forgotten-80s stuff I would buy would be Wheeled Warriors (with cartoon characters) as well as Starriors.
>>11670218Oh hey, it's funded! Awesome!Dan Larson was saying once pledges are collected the thing was ready to go right into production.
>>11671631>dan larsonisnt that guy a woke retard crying about trump all day?
>>11671673Yep. He somehow thinks that being divisive is good for his channel numbers.
>>11671580The Wheeled Warriors toys are still pretty great even today.Problem is they are incredibly hard to get complete.
>>11671580>>11671682What scale?
>>11671675>divisiveCry me a river
Ohno getting upgraded to chromed instead of regular paint.
>>11671724>cry me a riverIts real glass
>>11671580>The only two forgotten-80s stuff I would buy would be Wheeled Warriors (with cartoon characters) as well as StarriorsKind of surprised super7 hasnt put out a little box of figures to put inside the vehicals that are ahow accurate.Ramen toys could put out parts sets to complete the hulls. Just put a little number on the inside to indicate they are 2026 production to avoid upset collectors. Or cast the parts in a different color
So now that it is funded, will we get these two lovely ladies?
>>11672008It shows clearly how they should transform. And for a failed show with only 13 episodes that ran once over four decades ago, Orbots managed to have real staying power.
>>11671892Oh that's great news! That'll look nicer.
>>11672048This also applies to the evil Ohno, OhHellNaw
>>11672027It's because it's fucking beautiful. We definitely wouldn't hear as much about it if it didn't look so good.
>>11672027EhhhIt was pretty forgottenIts a true hidden gem. Its not like boomers who think gummy bears is a hidden gem. Orbots was forgotten until the DVD showed up on amazon
So far, 182 people have backed the single Mighty Orbots and 78 have backed the set with Tobor. There will probably never be more than 300 Mighty Orbots toys.
>>11673119Ramen toys might do the 3 girls knowing they can just make a few changes and sell them Infinitly. There is a lot of demand for 80s robot women toys. There are what, 20 after market arcees now?
>>11673157I mean the homage toy specifically. I wonder of Tobor will aftermarket demand. There's going to be less than 100 thoae.
>>11673119I'm just impressed they got their goal without some big vendor like BBTS going "GIVE ME A THOUSAND ORDERS NOW".
>>11673157>Ramen toys might do the 3 girls knowing they can just make a few changes and sell them Infinitly.yeah, I think the web would fall in love with bo and boo if more people sat down with the show. They act like /co/ darlingshttps://x.com/DailyGoBots/status/1992689679595098414?s=20
https://youtu.be/B5xoFU5verUGod, could you imagine if transformers put this much effort into their combiner sequence?
