>it's the user's fault a chinese toy has the durability of mashed potatoes
sometimes there's nothing you can do about it

I can only imagine him just watching the joint come off with almost no resistance the first time and then going
>WAT? Did it come broken? There's no way a Japenese seller sold me a broken toy
And then immediately grabbing the next figure to test the same joint and moving it up just for the arm to come off like it was held together by steaming hot potato starch.

The only way for the figures to have not broken is by not touching them and that's probably why the third one is still intact.

pic of a 2024 wave from Mythic Legions where 4H rushed production and all the joints were made of aerated chocolate. Almost all the toys had air pockets in the joints and 4H tried blaming it on hamhands, which is why the Mythic Legion General died (one of the fanboys took over the slowass Fantasy General and tried renaming it but the general is still slowass because the vast majority of mythic legion fans left)

She's White Haired Sorceress™ from the the Mythic Legion line, because who's going to remember these generic-on-purpose non-characters names from this line?

I forget if this figure was from the same wave, but all Mythic Legion figures suffer from brittle plastics, but it was never as bad as that aerated plastic wave.

Cute fantasy subby, I guess Hamhands think-alike. Unk feels great in-hand though, joints are firm and smooth.

Most-likely, Hammhando didn't realize that the shoulders are pegged in on an off-set angle Yamaguchi-style and cranked on them. Shoulda treated #2 with utmost caution(heat, shock oil) after what happened with #1 though.

It's called not being autistic.

Normal people are able to put themselves into someone else's shoes and figure out what happened.
Considering that guy is already buying used shit on the internet, and the figures undoubtedly cost a lot of money, that person also has some experience with other expensive fragile lines.

Personally, i haven't hamhanded a toy close to 20 years (pulling a Hasbro figure from the bubble without taking off the rubberband) and i've since bought hundreds of toys from dozens of supposedly fragile lines.
Here's a picture i took last year, of a 1:18 toyline that has super tiny clear plastic joints. The Front Mission figures have pegs that you twist to move their limbs around that are as thin as pencil lead. NECA figure is a NECA figure. McFarlane Halo line is supposedly fragile. I own dozens of figures from each of these lines and nothing has ever broken on me.

Mythic Legion is another case though. Never hamhanded any of these toys, but they've broken on me because they fell onto the desk they were standing on (loose joints means they can't stand too well). Never in my life has a toy broken just because it fell 3 inches onto cardboard laminated desk until 4H made their Mythic Legion figures.

Like OPs figures, nothing can prepare you for shitty brittle plastics. No amount of knowing you need to handle a toy like glass *cough*Joytoy's WH40k*cough* is going to prepare you for when a company just plain uses poor plastics.

So dumb. Had wrist pegs shear off on a TVC Tusken Raider and Mandalorian because they were frozen. Black series Anakin's lightsaber blade peg broke when I simply attempted to pull it out of the hilt as is intended.

I am a lot more careful with my expensive import figures and always heat them up before handling. But with things like small pegs, I think it is typically a tolerance issues and companies should do better when designing.

>>11672264
>But with things like small pegs, I think it is typically a tolerance issues and companies should do better when designing.
This is why toy companies switched to more rubbery components in the 00s. It's almost impossible to break shit by Hasbro, but it will happen when you force a frozen joint (hamhands), especially when you don't know what you're doing.

>>11672249
Yeah, i haven't broken any of my Space Marines either (i don't own Joytoy's thinner, humansized figures because they have a ton of reported issues), but i treat them like glass.
You shouldn't need to treat your toys like glass, but that's just how it is if you want to own certain lines with bad reputations.
>>
>>11672279

>>
>Honey, latest Subby containment thread just dropped
At least this stops him from shitting up GI Joe gen.
>>
>>>11672294 I feel like making fragile toys is an epic fail because they are supposed to be played with
It's ironic that the fragile lines are almost always more expensive than the kiddy budget toys Hasbro makes, yet companies like Joytoy and 4 Horsemen cheap out on the plastics used on their toys.
I mean, even when they KNOW their plastics are inferior, they continue using it years later without changing a damn thing. So using shitty plastics is on purpose.

With lines like Figuarts, there seems to be a problem with their plastics/engineering, but it's only a recent thing. Since it takes about a year to make a toy, that's how long it takes for them to actually figure out their fuck up.

Man, Sexyice obviously make fantastic figures, it's interesting how popular this line has been, but I can't wait until they do something other than this pseudo MGS insect shite, the designs are so wank to me. The eliminator is obviously the best one, I still think it's 2000s gfx card promo tier, but the manticora one is terrible. It's kind of bizarre how either by coincidence or in response, so many other studios like Romankey and some other Chinese ones are also making bizarre, Hidetaka Miyazaki fever dream, tactical insect lines. Hope they branch out to something more interesting soon, I have less than zero interest in them.

Yes. The peg will not stay in the socket because the mushroom peg separated. This is a design flaw in many McFarlane figures because heakes low quality toys with terrible engineering from cheap fragile plastic. You'd know this if you bought toys.

i have a couple dozen modern MCFarlane figures and i've never heard about what you're posting until now.

You know what toyline has actually had a problem with brittle plastics and not even once or twice, but constantly for nearly an entire decade? I've also experienced this through no fault of my own, because i treat them like they're made of glass.

It's all just preference, I get people like this stuff which is cool, just does nothing for me. I'd take basically anything desu if it were a bit more generic I guess (except more anime girl shit >>11672483 which is ofc what they're doing heh). I even like that they are doing their own OC stuff, it's just this whole insect thing is just so specifically weird, I find it curious that it has been such a hit. I do wonder if there will be a phase in like a year when people look back at their collection and ponder why they have a random black beetle man thing.

I'm not really complaining or anything, just being envious from the sidelines, cos I want to try one of their figures out one day and it looks like people are having fun. That upcoming stealth one looks pretty nice, hopefully he comes with a head that isn't a grasshopper or whatever.

Insects are cool looking. The best arc of Berserk had nothing but insectoid demonspawn as enemies. I bought Manticora solely for when a company eventually makes Lost Children Guts. I regret not buying Mantis Girl, and I hope they reissue her in green.

surprised hasnt seen the shf retard on this thread

Ohhhh, it was Locust, for a moment I thought a new one was announced.

He looks cool but next to Mantis might be a skip, I don't like the antenna piece as I fear I might snap that shit.

does this count as gore, especially when it cost $150 and the figure itself is only 7"?

I wish I had the foresight to take the pictures 25 years ago.
>Buy FF8 Odin
>Head broke getting him out of blister tray
>Seller kindly sends me a second one
>Same thing
>Decide to order one from HLJ
>After long wait I get it. You can see busted head in the tray
>chance upon one at local comic book shop
>No broken head
>buy it
>It's fine for few months
>Cat knocks it over
>Head busts clean off
FF8 was a great game, but those Kotobukiya guardian forces really were the shittiest quality I ever encountered.

I think what's funny is that all the things subby is apparently hated for have just become normal things on this board
Thinking JP lines are overrated? That's like every import thread thewe last few years. Figma and SHF generals have slowed down and so much discussion is complaining about lines being unexciting or diminishing quality for rising prices.
Ragging on bad QC? Everone across almost any line has noted that . In the old days people would entirely blame it on user error(hamhands), but these days it's noticeable how many expensive toys are still prone to bad QC and breakages.
Collecting McFarlane toys? After 5 years of the DC license, there's been a ton of people collecting them here.
Disliking NECA? again not uncommon here.
Subjectanon hate is largely from the peak import snob days of this board in like 2012-2016, when the US market was collapsing and full of crappy toys, imports were cheap and pretty great deals and exciting to see. But it's been like 15 years and a lot of older users aren't even around anymore, so all this jumping on what looks like a random post to someone not a decade into board lore looks like an overreaction
>>
>>11672208
>Normal people are able to put themselves into someone else's shoes and figure out what happened.
They actually aren't able to do that, that's an abnormal talent, much like common sense is actually uncommon

>Ragging on bad QC? Everone across almost any line has noted that
There is a difference between ragging on bad QC in a figure you own and spamming your collection of images you've saved like a mentally ill hoarder for the 37th time in 4 years.
It's one thing to have an opinion. It's a completely different thing to spam your opinion relentlessly for the life of a thread, and then to do it again in the next thread you think is deserving of your misery.
I had a toy that arrived faulty last month and I've posted a pic of it once. We're not even halfway through January and he's already spammed that white Space Marine pic 3 times this month, and he doesn't even own the figure.

It is uncommon. A few trolls like yourself keep shitting up the board. You love an echo chamber.
>>
>>11672817
I don't care about this board enough to notice or remember shit like that. This is why people call this schizo shit. These are minor quibbles no one gives a shit about.

>>>11672801 in like 2012-2016, when the US market was collapsing
ooof, what is this delusion?
That era was a huge rebound for the US toy market, with 1:12 becoming popular again and other popular toylines starting. Black series. Tons of video game lines. DC Direct, NECA, Diamond, etc making their toys super articulated. indie toy market was rising up hugely because of kickstarter.
The collector market was expanding too, so now there were TMNT collector lines. Marvel and DC got niche collector lines by NECA, Mezco, etc. Vintage toylines were making a come back with revamped new lines like Battle Beasts, Power Lords, etc.
>well I was buying more japanese stuff so it was collapseing to me!
Jeebus, there seems to be a common trait with the subjectanon haters and its how self centered they are.

You're can't notice anything beyond your own ass, just like the no-toys in this thread who only came to make their hate for me everyone else's problem.

>>11672787
Speaking as someone who reads a lot, i think mispelling words on a $150 toy counts. They butchered a righteous regal character with their engrish. a fucking mockery.

Speaking of butchering, i think this counts too. Fucking supposed to be a god-like character, who has the resources of the entire galaxy to get him gold inlayed armor, instead mocked with all this brown plastic so he can blend in with the wooden wicker basket in the background.
The $150 toy is completely fucking ruined.
