Well boys, I'm freshly divorced and in my tiny divorced guy apartment. Hopefully I'll get my production up this year. I've got nothing but time now.

Not a dime. We kept completely separate finances and the house is in her name (for this exact reason) so it was an easy split. I've been quietly saving and I'll be able to buy my own house this year.
>>11674528
I am the the male living space meme. I figure there's no point in buying furniture if I'm just going to move in a couple months.
>>
>>11674531
Good for you. Same for me, but having your home in someone else's name is always a bit uneasy. I mean I'm not worried but an autistic fuck like me that hates moving... at one point where there was talk about a potential split, I was mortified, but we both agreed we had stopped investing in the relationship and decided to actively deal with it and it seemed to work out.
PS. those fucking carpets in every single american house are beyond disgusting. Especially considering you wear shoes indoors.
>>
>>11674534
Yeah, she would always scream at me to get out of "her" house whenever she was having a fit but ironically being married protected me because it is illegal to throw your spouse out on the street lol.
>>
>>11674531
I'm incel and have never even spoken to a 1/1 scale woman, but what's the idea of getting married and still handling your finances in a way to make divorce easy? If you think the divorce is that likely why get married in the first place?
>>
>>11674542
She threatened self harm to trap me in the relationship when I realized she is just using me and I tried to leave. I guess I'd rather she be alive and me unhappy than me be happy somewhere if it cost her life. Now she's in a much better place so she has decided she can do better than me and I'm finally out. My boundaries were no joint finances and my name was not going on any mortgage or loan with her.
>>
>>11674542
>but what's the idea of getting married and still handling your finances in a way to make divorce easy
NTA, but being financially smart and covering your own ass. Also you can still have a shared account for household things or whatever you want, it just prevents straight up financial abuse. I've seen how even couples that don't really care for money in the moment and have had very civil breakups start to get petty over every cent when it comes time to split up. This is especially the case if you have shared loans.
I've been with my gf for like 7 years and I've asked her about marriage several times but it's just not something she sees as a necessity at all. I'm not sure what the english term is but we are just in a relationship that is pretty much like marriage without the paperwork.
>>
/smg/ came for the models, stayed for the relationship /adv/ice.

This is how I live despite never being married.

I bring my completed models to my shop now since I ran out of space. Also the twice a year visitor is weirded out that I don't have a TV, saying it's "too quiet". But my rabbit seems to enjoy the peace and quiet, which seems to be the peak "lonely male in a tiny hole" pet.

has anyone ever ordered these metal model "puzzles" from temu? just a few bucks for a small tank, but if quality is shit then I'd rather not buy garbage.
>>
>>11674648
I did buy a TIE fighter a while back and it's exactly what it says on the tin. Sheet metal that can be folded together. The connectors are shit and the only way to make it actually good would be to solder everything. It's cheap trash that gets sold in dollar stores and fairs, if that's what you expect, then it's great for you.
>>
>>11674648
I thought about getting one of these, but working with PE already makes me want to blow my brains out

Gonna give this AK preshade mask shit another go. I'm not fully convinced of this technique but it is at least quite easy to do and the result before painting looks rad. Should probably use this to make something like the fish pattern guy is doing at some point

hey dudes, what brand would you recommend for airbrush ready acrylic paints?
>>
>>11675701
airbrush ready as in you don't add more thinner yourself? no idea
or just good paint for airbrush? tamiya is pretty good if the latter with their thinner, vallejo is also decent when you use their airbrush thinner in a 1/.25 ratio with a drop or two of their flow improver
>>

>fish guy
looks good dude. I'm just waiting for the post with supplies so I can start the colour. Really fucked up the engine cowling by trying to prime it first before assembling. I primed it then test fit it before figuring that it would be easier to glue the pieces now rather than afterwards. Should have realised that the Italeri kit I was building was Italeri.

yeah no.... I'm looking for something like the mrp lacquer paints but acrylics. I know mrp has an acrylic range but I have no idea if it acts like the lacquer range and requires no thinner or flow aid.

Put 14grams of weights into my Warning Star instead of 15 thinking that would be sufficient and it's still back-heavy. Options now are either rip its wings off and put more in or make a little stand to prop the back up. Oh well.

So apparently the chattanooga contest didn't grade on a gold/silver/bronze for the top 3 of each category, but instead gave everyone a medal with gold/silver/bronze. Whatever color medal you got was dependent on how close to their criteria you managed to get.

I've never heard of IPMS judges grading builds like it's a high school math test but apparently boomers are up in arms because it's participation trophy culture or some gay shit like that

This is Open Format. Boomers get mad about it because the contest doesn't get dominated by the same people every year so they feel cheated. Open is better because it's skill-based. If you do a gold-level job, you get a gold. This is generally much better than having new people bust their asses putting work in, only to get squat when Boomer Bill (who has been friends with the club judges for forty years) gets his trophy. Boomer Bill can still win his gold for his work, he just can't lock everyone else out. Open eliminates any suspicion of bias. But boomers would rather kill the future of the hobby if they can ride out a last few years of their glory days.

one of the best AMT kits I've ever built and I'll chalk that one up to it not being a mold from 60 years ago. somehow melted parts of the canopy so this model is effectively ruined, but ignoring that I'd say it's still a 7/10 job to me.
