The SAS is relatively old and has its issues (even new SAS figures like the HNK line do things with the articulation I loathe) but it's still sharper and more evocative of Araki's art in a broad sense than the SHF is in my eyes. The SHF is still pretty gay though. They found the zest.

Hear hear. I'm envious that you got the exclusive Josephs, but I have to be honest, I've never quite liked SAS Joseph. It just doesn't look like the Joseph I like. I am happy about the hammer and crossbow that comes with him, but that's about it.
The SHF is closer to the anime design and that's the one I'm fonder of. Plus it comes with good faces (even if I wish there were more), and a removable scarf without the hole situation.
Not sure if I will get the rest of the Jojos as I don't feel as strongly about manga design vs anime design for them, but I might. I've liked Jolyne's base anime colorway far more than the first two SAS versions we got, and if the SHF Jolyne ends up with good accessories that sell her stand effect, then I'll be happy to get her.
And if you got Jonathan as well, you now have hamon effects that work with both. Plus you can probably find ways to add it to their sword/clackers too.

Nah I feel the same way. I've collected the various SAS figures but I think the SHF lineup might be the first time I end up collecting all the main JoJos. Like you said, being based on the anime is what convinced me to get Jonathan and Joseph.
As an aside, I hardly bring out my SAS Josephs just because the joint tightness is inconsistent throughout with loose joints making them a bit of a hurdle to pose. So while it's nice to have them, I'm happy to have gotten the SHF as my go-to figure to pose and play around with.

I've eyed the SAS line. Its strenghts are obviously the accessories and breadth of character selection. The caveat is that figures from different parts are rarely scale compatible and the articulation is generally subpar.
For me, there was just not enough of a drive to pay out the ass for out of stock SAS back when I first got into them, and I wanted to avoid another source that emptied out my wallet just for the sake of a complete collection. I didn't wanna be financially drained for a completed collection of what are to be honest mostly mediocre figures and pay late comer tax on over half of them in the process, so I severely limited what JoJo SAS I got to just the ones I really wanted.
I might try to go all out with the SHF line if I like it.

Saber is alright, the first quarter is a bit rough as you can tell they were experimenting with a lot of things to work around the COVID restrictions resulting in the show being a bit aimless, poor pacing and constantly introducing new characters. However around Q2 with the introduction of a character named Yuri the plot starts to really move and it gets significantly better and out of all the Reiwa Riders it has one of the best endgames and you'll like the cast once they all come together at the end as well.

SAS are janky as fuck but it goes to show how much a coat of paint and shading can add to a figure. Its too bad bandai is incapable of painting anything anymore.
