And remember, Don't Feed the Troll.

So it seems like the only "new" thing they showed off at the live event was the Elf Thief. Overall not surprised by the build choice, but it is nice to see the throwing knives and bandolier included. I can't see his main weapon, but I'm gonna assume it's the sheathed dagger.

They did confirm there will be an accompanying class change set for him that will also change his race, but no details as to what it'll be. Though they did confirm the $30 price point for the figures, so that's something at least. It's crazy how ten years ago, the fully painted "deluxe" figures were the ones going for $30 bucks, now that's the "cheaper" price point.
>>
>>11682485
They also showed off the new RPG Cleric build along side the SDCC Exclusive black and gold preview figure. The red standard release version will come packed as a Paladin and won't include the hooded head or magic staff, he'll also have a sculpted torso and skirt where the SDCC version had both Paladin and Cleric looks included in the box and had a soft goods tunic. The SDCC version will see limited re-release during the Kickstarter, but the Red version will be widely available along side the Cleric Upgrade set.

>It's crazy how ten years ago, the fully painted "deluxe" figures were the ones going for $30 bucks, now that's the "cheaper" price point.
$33 was the price in the first Kickstarter, and then they were $35 on the store. That was for the Covenant of Shadow wave at least, I didn't buy any Legions from the store prior to that wave.
These still have more detailed deco than most Legion Builders, so they feel like a good midrange price point for what you get. Fully painted rivets and buckles and a human face for $30 at the expense of some accessory parts? I'll take it.
Of course, I'd be stoked if they do some nice monochrome Legion Builders like Gold/Silver/Black Knights again for less than $30. I still can't believe the only gunmetal Legion Builder they ever did was the Iron Knight on the female buck. You'd think that color would be a license to print money.
>>
>>11682674
It kills me to this day that the "Red Shield Soldier" wasn't a Legion Builder. Even if they labeled it "deluxe" and threw a single layer of paint on it, I probably would've bought four. I don't know why they have such an aversion to Legion Builders when for the most part they always sell well. I really hope they drop a surprise reinforcement wave on us at some point, but I guess I'll have to settle for the RPG figures being the new army builders.

I agree that for long term fans, more paint for less gear is a good trade off. But there's always new collectors who won't have storage bins full of extra gear to make use of, so having traditional Legion Builders would still be welcomed.

So gonna swing away from Mythic Legions and 1:12 entirely to show off one of my other favorite, though seemingly very short lived, fantasy lines, Gahsapon Quest.

I been following this line for a year or two now, and I'm pretty sure I'm done getting everything I want out of it. After assembling and arranging my own little JRPG Adventurer's Guild, and then buying them a Playmobil castle to hang out in, I realized I should probably think up a guild name for em.

So /mfg/, lets here some ideas for names of this Guild!
>>
>>11682744
Too cute. Feel free to post more pics.
As for names, I'm not the one you should ask. I'm terrible at names and they are always some shit pun or reference. For example, the first Mustang I get in Red Dead Redemption 2 I always name Sally.
Mustang Sally.
So you don't want me suggesting names for your guild. It will be some dumb shit like Super Kawaii Adventure Squad.

Yes, I was never good at naming groups either. I have a default one I usually fall back on if I ever have to name a group in games, but it's not really fitting for this team of Adventurers.

As for more pics, I'll try and get some internal castle shots tomorrow. I used Re-Ment stuff to decorate the a small pub and the boss's office, so it's got some life to it. But I need to find more furniture to set up a good weapon shop/smithy and a magic lab. I also need to find a better place to display the castle as I don't really know how long I'll be able to keep it on the kitchen table...

In the mean time, here's a pic of the two youngest adventurers facing off against and Eldrador Frost Wolf in one of their first quests.

I keep looking at Mojing Toys' Ancient Gate and thinking.

It doesn't look like a tremendous amount of plastic for the price (not bad, either), but it's a lot of space to frame figures or even raise them, and it's also a lot of shelf space required to fit it. The roof is at ~35-40cm, for good and bad; put a figure standing on it or jumping from it and we're talking up to ~60cm height for the scene (!).
Being a somewhat standalone element by design, it looks like it could easily be used as a landmark expanded with inexpensive natural elements from Christmas decorations or a rock from the nearest park for example for a wider scene.

It's a fucking pain.
Usually I'm cool with getting the non-exclusive versions of Mythic Legions exclusives, but lately they have been including so many great parts in the exclusive versions that I'm really starting to hate it. I'm still kicking myself for missing the Revenant/male Crossroads figure from Legionscon when it went up on BBTS.
Thankfully the Zolocon and ToyconNJ ones aren't as bad and I can settle for the regular versions, though I would have preferred if the Attlus head was the exclusive in the Highland Warrior instead of the Magnus head.
>>
>>11683159
I'm actually really disappointed that the ATL Exclusive is the non-camo head. I've been waiting for them to reuse that head in human colors since it first came out. I love that they're using it twice in one set, but only the actual exclusive gets the clean version.

I don't mind the other exclusives, but I can see others having complaints. The Magus head is nice and also fairly rare, but at least a version of that will be on an Armory figure.
>>
>>11683196
>The Magus head is nice and also fairly rare, but at least a version of that will be on an Armory figure.
That is the redeeming factor with that head being exclusive. At least we are getting it with another figure soon. My main problem with the Highlander is that the Attlus head is just too distinctive. You can paint the Magnus head like they did with the Armory Gladiators, and it looks almost completely different. But the Attlus head will always be an Attlus head. They even had to put his warpaint in a pattern that covers his facial scars, but it's still prettily obvious that he has the exact same scars under the paint. I just can't unsee it.
>>
>>11683223
Oh totally agree, I have the Adamonn version and I plan to swap a helmet onto him once the Rising Sons version of Atlus drops. It's a very distinct head and hairstyle so it don't feel right to have multiples in my collection, especially when the figures are in the same faction.

I'm glad the Highlander comes with that Santa head repaint as that's what I plan to use. But the Magnus head would work really well and it sucks that it's the exclusive.
>>
>>11683230
>Santa head
Thank you! I had been staring at the pic in the previous thread trying to figure out what head that was. I thought it was the bonus dwarf head from the Rising Sons wave at first, but when I compared it to the BBTS pic it wasn't even close to matching.

I bought the Green Santa figure specifically because it came with a reddish/brown colored version of the Santa head and it makes for a great Nord or Dwarf or what have you. It's nice to see the 4H think so as well and I'm glad they went with a darker brown/black color for the Highlander's alt head.

I have a quick question; I need a skeleton for a conversion project. My local shop has the Blue Hagnon for a good price, and Necronominus for like 13 bucks more. Does Mythic Legions use a softer plastic for their clear figures than their regular figures? I know some toy lines do that, the clear plastic is a bit soft or weird compared to normal. I

Neat, I keep meaning to actually play that game, but I can never actually get a steady group to commit to it and I don't have the patience to solo a game like that these days. >>11686389
All fantasy stuff is welcomed here, even stuff from threads that already have their own generals (as long as it's kept within reason).

That said, that looks fantastic and assuming it's not some crazy $150+ price tag, he will be joining my shelf when he comes out.
>>
>>11686174
I can't say I know the quality of the clear parts of Hagnon, I do know the clear parts from the Zombie builder were pretty stiff, just as solid as, well, the solid limbs.

Also, if he's much more then $40 then there are cheaper options available elsewhere. BBTS has both Hagnon and Illgar for $37 each, their original launch price essentially, with only $4 shipping that's not a bad deal. However I always prefer to support local stores so as long as the figure is similarly priced buying him in person would probably be better.

As for Nerco, IIRC the head piece is very much attached to the skull so getting that off may be an issue. That said...you should get him anyway because he's just that damn cool.

So full disclosure I always hated WoW, but I'm glad someone is *finally* doing good figures of their designs. I don't even like their gaudy, overly busy, extreme character concepts, but the fact that someone can make so many awesome and successful figures from the line shows how Blizzard has been dropping the ball for years. Now if only someone would do the same for FFXI....
>>
>>11686438
>>11686439
These Metytoyz look amazing but I'm just interested in their weapons lol
>>
>>11686453
What I particularly like about the Mety/Greyknight figures is they are basically illustration/cinematic art based WoW figures rather than emulating the games, which makes all the difference. I loved Warcraft and WoW, but only vanilla back at release, a lot of nostalgia for me, Classic was still fun, but the player base was too different so it wasn't the same. I like it in a similar way I do to Warhammer/40k where I strongly dislike how the IP has officially been handled for the past 10 years or more, but the setting, characters and aesthetics I will always be fond of. I hope you get your FF figures, I am sure it will happen sooner rather than later with the way the Chinese industry is blooming right now.

It's a little cramped, and right now is serve yourself, but it gets the idea across of a busy eatery for adventurers to gather after their quests.

Right above the Pub is the Guild Leader's private office. One thing that's really nice about the Playmobil stuff is that they actually have stairs connecting each floor with believable ways to traverse between em. The one up to this room is actually tucked away in a corner of the pub area.

Most of the decorations are from Re-Ment sets, mainly the Witch Shop and Adventurer Shop sets. It's crazy how these three different lines work so well together, and the little extra paper goods from Re-ment add a lot of extra character to each scene.

And this is just a WIP pic of where the future weapon shop will be. It's currently tucked away under the main bridge to get into the upper gate so it didn't have a floor of it's own or really anything in the space. But again, Re-Ment's stuff just ends up being fantastic as the cases they come in actually have paper good backdrops you can cut up and display. So I managed to use the "floor" from the weapon shop display and just glued it to the castle itself. Right now it's actually just printer paper as a test, but everything lined up so well I want to find a sturdier, higher quality paper to use and make it a bit more permanent.

The Re-ment box also has some little paper craft shelves and a shop counter, the former of which I actually managed to stick to a wall while the latter will need to be trimmed to fit in the space. Will be building this room slowly, but so far it has a lot of potential. After this I'll try to do the same for a little Witch's Cave that sits under the pub but I need to find some actual furniture for that one.
>>
>>11686460
Blizzard is this odd company that can have great ideas and make fun games....and then completely crap all over their own IPs. It's like time and time again they'll just up and shoot themselves in the foot for no reason and kill whatever fanbase was growing around their products.

Also, while I'd love some chinese FFXI stuff, I doubt that'll ever happen. The game has been fully replaced by FFXIV as far as cultural zeitgeist is concerned and most people don't even know what it is or that it's still running. But more importantly, SE has an absolute lock down on people pirating their stuff and would probably eviscerate any companies trying to make their characters without permission. The only hope I'd have is SE's Bringarts line, which is very hit 'n miss, I'm surprised they even made a single figure from that game....though she was technically an accessory to their generic mounts. It was a very strange figure set to release.

Do you guys know if this Mythic Legions skull head is the same size as a Marvel Legends head? Say for example Ghost Rider.
>>
>>11687477
Mythic Legions heads are larger than Marvel Legends. They are more like 6.5" scale and even then, the heads feel slightly oversized for their own bodies so the skull will be way too big for Marvel Legends. I think the best skull to match Marvel Legends would be the Boss Fight Studio Epic Hacks skeletons.
I would post a comparison, but I don't own many Marvel Legends, and they are all non-human characters like Groot or Man-thing.

their heads are gigantic, because 4H makes toys for Mattel, whose toys aren't 1:12, and the Mythic Legion are just army builders for He-Man fanatics.

And the Mythic Legion skeletons are way stylized/disproportionate. Their bones are disporportionately gigantic, so they couldn't be the bones for the humans in the Mythic Legion characters. Even the skulls are basically just a human wearing a skull mask.

Dropping and oldie but a goodie, as you can really see the size difference between the old Spidey build and the Thick Bones of the Legions skeletons. Also Revol skeleton is there because this pic is over a decade old and back then there weren't many skeletons on the market to compare to.

What >>11687595 said is your best bet as the Boss Fight Skeletons are much closer in size to a Marvel Legend and should work way better for any potential custom.

Technically, if you are planning on using a Mythic Legions head, it's not really derailing the thread, is it? That Romankey body is over 7" tall so he would definitely end up pinheaded with a Marvel head.
If you want a Mythic head that has the Ghost Rider aesthetic, one of the ghost heads from the Undead Builder pack has the same vibe with little flame like projections from the eyes, but that head doesn't have a jaw to make room for the neck flames.
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/229599
It's pricey because it comes with parts to build either a ghost or a zombie, so even if you use a head for your custom you'll still be left with more than a whole figure.

If you want to go slightly lower budget just to get a skull to start with and not get a whole figure, there is this head pack with a variety of skulls including an orc and a vampire skull.
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/246860
It doesn't show it in the product pics, but it includes the skull from Malleus that has the missing tooth in the same color as the rest of the skulls in that pack.

....almost forgot, for anyone interested in D&D or cool Dragon men, 4H announced when the pre-Order for Joe Manganiello’s ARKHAN THE CRUEL™ will be starting. This Friday (1/30) on youtube they're gonna do some weird mini-docu thing on youtube at 8pm EST, at 8:30 they're going to show off the figure...and whatever other extra figure they plan to drop along side it, and then the pre-order itself will start at 9pm EST. No info on pricing or how long it'll run, but I'd assume at least $60 a pop and a month long or so.

Last time they did an Infinite Legion, they included a repaint with different heads, so I'd expect something similar this go around. But they do like to get cheeky so who knows what they'll throw out. I don't really give a crap about the D&D aspects or the celebrity creator, but I do like cool Dragon dudes and he looks like he'd be a good partner for my Drayleen.

Only the clear green head and hands were exclusives and he was released at Powercon 2023. They dropped a normal version a few months later and he actually sat in stock at their website for years.

That head will also see a re-release when the pre-built Armory Gladiator sets go up for sale, most likely in april. One of the figures has a black version of that head, so that will be a way easier, and probably cheaper, way to get the figure then going ebay or some other secondary seller. The Armory version will also have an alt head, so you'll still have a full figure if you steal the demon head.

Different colored version, the clear green head was specifically a con exclusive. But the head mold will be used on pic related.

My guess is they take the 2.0 body used for the snake and Siren girl and create a lady dragon from it.
>>
>>11690761
Ahhh I see
>>
>>11690767
Isn't the 2.0 snake body at least 2 years away, or did they say they pretooled it? I can't remember what was said when they showed her off in the stream.
>>
>>11690767
Unless Arkhan has a scalie girlfriend, I doubt it'll use that build. It'll most likely just be a repaint of Arkhan with at best a new head or accessories. This release is for their Infinite Legions line and any figures revealed will most likely be included in the line.

>>11691177
The first use of the snake body is expected to release sometime later this year, though the fish one is still too far out to even have a suggested date. But they could still use those parts on other characters since it's already tooled up and ready to go.
>>
>>11691177
>>11691200
Also worth noting Rat King uses parts that are coming up in the Reign of the Beasts Mwindajji the Cackler and the team has been cheeky hiding stuff before.
>>
>>11691177
isn't this also a preorder that's a year+ away?
>>

>The first use of the snake body is expected to release sometime later this year, though the fish one is still too far out
Which snake body are you talking about? Because I'm talking about the 2.0/fish one used for the siren, since that is the female one (yeah I know…snakes don't necessarily have mammaries.)
Technically, we've already gotten the snake body with the Ninian Infantry and the green retailer exclusive snakeman that's about to hit.
Unless you mean just the snake tail from the Beasts wave.
>>11691377
That was why I was asking if they mentioned if they had pretooled it. Sometimes they do stuff like that.
>>11691384
Yeah, that's still at least 5 waves and a dragon away. That's why I think a fem-dragonkin would be unrealistic with those parts unless they have already tooled them

>>11691479
>Technically, we've already gotten the snake body with the Ninian Infantry and the green retailer exclusive
Almost missed this part, technically technically, the first use of the Snakeman body was with Olek Thygar from Cosmic, the updated body that Qoi uses was first used on the Thraxxian Scout.

>>11691384
If you mean the Reign of Beast wave, that's supposedly coming out at the end of this year. Considering Mwindajii is already all tooled up, I can see them actually hitting that goal this time around. Three of the figures are mostly reuse and one of the new body is confirmed finished, so they're chugging along with that one.
>>

My brain completely forgot about Bassylia for some reason. I could remember her guards, but not her.

I made that post while I had my Olek with snake head on him sitting next to me, but I couldn't remember the fucker's name. I stared at him for 2 minutes thinking "blue lizard" before I decided to just mention the other two snakes so that people knew what I was talking about.

Ok, not as awful a price as I feared. Where does Gundamit ship from? He's up on 5Ktoys, but more expensive, but I know they ship from within US so no extra fees. But I don't know if Gundamit does the same and I don't wanna be hit by surprise costs when he's on the way to my door.

These guys are neat, but $40ish a pop for em is too rich for me. It's a shame we can't get cheaper but still fun fantasy grunts, minions and goons, I'm sure people would buy hundreds if someone started a line like that. Those Keep Going Skeletons are a great example of cheap but still decent looking figures we need more of.
>>
>>11692424
Gundamit ships from China. I am not in the US, but I am pretty sure they have raised the shipping price to account for all your shit currently, so I don't think you should have to pay anything beyond checkout. You should double check though.

Agreed. I've got two Oleks with the head pack that I need to de-Cosmicfy and give Mythic gauntlets, faulds etc to. It's a shame the first snake head pack didn't come with a tail. My snake army is going to be a weird mismatch of snakes with just legs, legs and tails, and serpent lower halves without legs. Which is not really that different to the snakemen in MOTU when I think about it.
>>
>>11692433
Ok, good to know. I already have other things ordered from em so I guess one more item won't hurt.

>>11692436
Agreed. At the very least they could've had generic gripping hands as standard.

>>11692440
I will be having that exact same issue, but at the same time I kinda like that idea. It makes em all feel a bit different despite them all literally having the same heads. At this rate I'll have a group of about five Snakemen each with different builds and gear, maybe even more if the Retailer snake head matches well with that Oxkrewe Thraxxian figure.

These knees are fucking yikes. Are these our first bare shins female figure? The 2.0 body proportion has always been awkward and boxy, but this figure got it extra bad considering it is a bare legs bare arm figure with minimum skirt/waist piece. What could possibly justify the $50 price point? This is just a standard named character. No deluxe wings, no deluxe accessories.
>>

So just skimmed through that reveal video to get the details. They said it's pretty much an entirely new build, even the legs for as similar as they are to previous releases. The new hip system on the 2.0 figures is that the lower torso is one piece and doesn't have that swivel at the belt line previous figures had. Instead the waist articulation is based on an internal ball joint of some kind, which makes me think the entire lower piece is a solid sculpt so I can only imagine she has a buttplate similar to Frazetta girls or the BFS figures. I do wanna call BS on them pointing out how "little" clothing that she has on and how that's new for them, that completely ignores half the original AoD ladies as there were a lot of bikini armor babes in that wave. Herra Serpenspire specifically shares a lot of the same energy as this new figure and would certainly benefit from an update using almost the exact same build.

However the biggest surprise is just how far they are into production with this set. They're already deep into the tooling phase and getting test prints to try out. According to them, these two should be ready to ship by the end of the year, which would probably be the fastest turn around for completely new builds in the line to date. Sure they can drop repaints and such in six months or so, but Arkhan specifically is an entirely new mold, so him coming out in a year will be fantastic.

I hope they're able to continue this little sub-line as some of the other character designs seemed pretty cool too. I'd be down for some evil barbarians, a magic turtle and especially the Manticore.

I got their muscle body and got some issues.

One elbow broke and I had to ask for a replacement
Joints where large surfaces of plastic may rub against each other were not smooth: the butterfly joints move forward well but they don't seem to move backwards even though the cut shows an intent to; I had to remove a cosmetic cover piece in the hips because it blocked the movement of the joint instead of sliding nicely

That said, I'm not sure how relevant that will be to a figure with very different characteristics and with cheaper price and maybe lower expectations.
>>
>>11694661
Yea, my bad being mistaken on that one, don't even remember which figure I mixed em up with to be that wrong. Sadly I don't have any of the FG female figures yet, but if the 4H can ape that kind of ass tech I'll be happy.

>>11694812
.....I don't even know what that insult is supposed to mean, do a lot of evil sorceresses listen to taylor swift? Like what even is the implication here?

Also singling out Jjuno as being "pretty hot" is ironic because when she first dropped a lot of the tards were pissed that she wasn't "hot enough" due to her hair style and reasonably sized....assets.

Now I'm not saying >>11693923 is the hottest figure in the world or anything, in fact I think the gap in her hips kind of sticks out way too much for me and I'm worried the new articulation will just make the figure worse overall. I get the feeling the overall engineering is the same, it's just that instead of a floating belt hiding the awkward crotch piece, it's just a solid torso overhang doing the same job. But I also don't think she's any worse then any previous 4H females. Better posing can probably fix a lot of my problems with her though.

It looks like the samurai warcoat is the newest addition but besides that, the rest is basically the same figure repainted. The red color scheme is definitely more accurate to Shuten Douji in folklore, but it's not as if there haven't been other Oni in different colors in folklore so you can easily treat this variant as a different Oni altogether.
>>
>>11694315
Thanks for the rundown. I always appreciate when someone gives us the cliffnotes from their vids.
>I do wanna call BS on them pointing out how "little" clothing that she has on and how that's new for them
Maybe they just meant the fact that all of the limbs are pretty much bare in combination with the bikini. The AoD bikini armor girls all had gauntlets and greaves, and most recent figures with bare limbs have still been mostly clothed. This is the most nekkid of all of their female figures.
>>11695583
NTA that said she isn't hot, but I am not a fan of the face. The sunken cheeks that look like she has undergone buccal fat removal isn't doing anything for me.
>>
>>11695583
it refers to the fact that majority of Taylor Swift fans are basic bitches with no compelling sexuality. They're not attractive, either in looks or personality. Some are hot enough but don't carry themselves well, which negates any physical attributes. There's a meme out there that shows a girl arching her back up like a cat or a lower case n during sex vs those that know to go face down ass up with their belly damn near touching the floor. Sexless, useless women.

Anyone who disagrees with this is either a) a virgin or b) has only been with girls that fit this description and think it's as good as it gets. It's not. It's terrible.
All the bad proportions, awkward fitting clothing, and terrible posing looks like that.

Fair enough point with the armor, the new bare limbs are just that, new, and none of the figures using those limbs really fit that bikini sorceress vibe. I will admit she's the closest we've gotten to a classic Frazetta girl from the 4H, though they've already put out some nice figures, I guess this one is just the first time they went with the blatant skimpy outfit look.

I do agree with her face though, but again I feel that's more due to it aiming for that classic "fantasy" art vibe. The high cheeks, sunken face look is one a lot of those old school girls had, though the 4H's attempt really doesn't hit the same marks as classic art does. That said, I was never particularly a fan of those old faces either and the 4H have already put out way better heads.

To this day, I still say Thraice has the best face in the line, and on a decent body can be pretty hot....ignoring the shitty asstech.

>>11696207
Oh...you're just a spaz. Got it.

Have fun with that.
>>
I don't know what to think about the sorceress.

To begin with, I thought the first ML bare skin female body looked bland in photos, but then I found that it looks much better in person and Jjuno became one of my favorite ML figures. This body looks quite the same except they have removed the redundant waist swivel in order to get a single piece of hips+waist like many brands do. So, I'm willing to be optimistic.

Still, I don't know. She looks somewhat stiff and disjointed (the posing doesn't help, but, could she be posed better?), the feet could be more feminine looking, the face is not very attractive, the outfit looks like it wants to show as little boobage as possible which kills the design... I like the idea of a sexy sorceress with strong physical presence, but I don't entirely see myself loving the figure and dropping 50-70€ for it, especially when Fish Toys is supposedly making those Medusa and friends from last Wonfest, or Xesray or other Chinese companies may do their own take sooner or later.

I've got repaint Bastet on preorder, so maybe she'll help me make my mind when she arrives.

>>11699017
Nice, you'll both have to share pics when you actually get these in hand. The chinese companies are really hitting a lot fantasy figures right out of the park. Stuff people been asking about for decades are just getting "unofficial" figures that would be better then anything we would've gotten if they went to more "legit" companies. The WoW stuff is a great example of this as all previous attempts at WoW figures were fairly lackluster and short lived, but these chinese ones all feel like FotY contenders.

>>11698726
At this point I feel the big heads are a signature of the line, less of a flaw and more of a feature. Makes them stand out against other lines as they don't really mix well with other figures with their huge noggins.

Also, some more news on the RPG figures. In a bizarre and unexpected twist, it seems that they're going to make the Cleric build the default figure while making the Paladin Class stuff the upgrade set. It seems we lose out on the magic staff for the cleric, but gain a shield for the paladin. Personally I don't mind the change as I prefer the shield, but it's an odd change to something they've been promoting since they announced the line.

Also, we need to see more figures already.

>it seems that they're going to make the Cleric build the default figure while making the Paladin Class stuff the upgrade set.
Too bad. I might have done some army building if the paladin was the default. Also one of the other round shields would have been.preferred over the wooden one. Can't say I'm enthused about this decision.
>>
>>11699457
>Can't say I'm enthused about this decision.
Same. Paladin felt good for the Nutcracker head. Fuck buying all the parts to get a Paladin now
>>
>>11699550
If you only want it to use the Nutcracker head on, it's still the same figure, just with a different head. The only thing you'd be missing out on is a sword.
I wanted to make a small squad of knights if they were at the lower price that they have been hinting at. Having to buy the upgrade pack puts a damper on it. I still might buy a couple though, but not nearly as many as I was planning.
>>
>>11699457
>>11699550
In hindsight I kind of agree. The Paladin build would be far more useful for army building as generic knights are more common then Clerics. Also the Paladin set has multiple faceplates while the Cleric only has one. It's an odd change and I'm not seeing a good reason for it.

If you're looking for one offs and don't mind paying some higher prices, there were a few chinese companies who put out WoW inspired stuff....but I'll be damned if I can remember their names and there seems to be none for sale right now.

As for Mythic Legions, they put out a dozen or so different Green Orc figures and about three or four similarly colored Ogres, but most of them are pretty old and unlikely to get re-run any time soon. Your best bet would be to wait for the release of the most recent Urzokk v2. He comes with three different heads, so you could just grab two cheaper figures to use as bodies and build yourself a small Orc Horde.

https://www.sourcehorsemen.com/mythic-legions/entry/urzokk-2

Otherwise, your only other options right now seem to be grabbing Tharnog, a slightly larger "Brute" scale Orc Shaman.

https://sourcehorsemen.com/mythic-legions/entry/tharnog

There's also some lingering "Deluxe Orc Builder sets" up on BBTS, but I feel that's a bit overpriced of a set for new fans of the line. You do get four different-ish Orc heads and a TON of weapons and extra armor, but it's designed to help spruce up other Orc figures, so without them it loses a lot of it's value.

https://www.sourcehorsemen.com/mythic-legions/entry/deluxe-male-orc-builder

Now if you're willing to go for a more Uruk-Hai, black skinned Orc look, you could always grab a Gorthokk from BBTS and then a couple of the Shadow Orc Legion Builders from the 4H site. Even just grabbing a pair of the cheaper army builders to flank Gorthokk makes for a nice little horde trio, and even though it's one of the cheaper options, you'd actually get the most figures out of it. But again, they wouldn't be the "classic" green.

Have any of you set up any D&D "teams" using these figures? Like "here's this adventuring group!"

Following up on >>11700443 for you.
>WoW inspired stuff
I think he's talking about Guardians of the Horde. The company's name is Mithril Action. They are big, about as tall as a Mythic ogre figure, so about 8-9 inches. Pic related is the one I own. Good solid figure with plenty of articulation including butterflies and double knees and elbows, but because they are based on WoW I find some of the heads to be a bit cartoonish. Most older figures are sold out in most places, but you might find some on eBay, Mercari, and AliExpress for a bit of a markup.

Brotoys not-Crucible Knight going up for pre-order on the 10th supposedly. The wings seem quite cool, imagine he will be very expensive. Is almost 19cm apparently.

>>
>>11700689
Both Mety and Grey Knight are more 1/10 scale btw. I don't think they have a green ogre version to my knowledge.
>>
>>11700689
I dont think there is a green version of either of the blue guys. I'm sure all of their green ones are as big as the green one in that pic, but I can't say for sure. This was the one I almost bought but had to skip because money was tight, and now he goes for double what I could have got him for at the time. Damn.
>>
On that topic, when is 4H going to make warrior-type orcs in the brute size? It's been years and we've only got a shaman.
>>
>>11700733
im thinking to use it for the 1/12 figs to fight as a boss kind of thing, so the 1/10 is perfect actually
>>11700780
i found one in stock for Mithril Action no 2 berserker and yeah its expensive already, well im not in the rush maybe mety will release a green one in the future

Most of my collection is made up of various larger armies with members broken down into smaller subgroups within the factions to help keep things more manageable. But the "main characters" of my collection are a five man band of figures who work very much as an Adventuring Party.

From left to right:

Snubnose the Boarrior - A Beastman Warrior/Tracker. Kinda stinky, kinda stupid, very affable. His nose can hunt down anything and his stomach can digest just as much. Usually tries to avoid direct conflicts, but can be pretty scrappy in a fight.

Relic Hunter Robin - A Mage/Rogue who collects rare and valuable magical items. Entirely untrustworthy, she only joined them because they kept crossing paths on their quests and she decided the party was useful in her hunt for treasures.

The Cursed Knight - An Undead Knight who has no memory of his past yet still retains full cognizance. He began his travels hoping to help piece together his lost past and potentially find a way to break the curse that keeps him in his half dead state.

Raygor the Dragon - A Blademaster/Martial Artist who's traveled the world in search for strong foes, he found his match in the cursed knight as an enemy that could not be slain. Boisterous, arrogant and easily excited, Raygor makes himself known where ever he goes, and until he can defeat the Knight in fair combat, he will go where the party goes.

Thallyn Frostbow - A Ranger/Ice Druid, this Frost Elf is a curious and eager explorer of the world. Having grown up secluded in a remote village, her thirst for knowledge was actively dissuaded. She eventually left the safety of the village to become an adventurer, though very intelligent and quick thinking, her naivety often leads her, and her group, into trouble.

Yea, those are some of what I was thinking of. I remember there was this hot minute where a bunch of companies dropped giant green Orcs in various armors. I was never a WoW guy so I mostly ignored em, but I felt there were a few all coming out at the same time with very similar looks.

>>11700689
>>11701192
Yea, if you're looking for some sort of imposing giant to face off against normal sized heroes, your better off going with one of them chinese companies. The 4H did release some green Ogres, and they are pretty big (about 9" tall), but they're very svelte in comparison to those other figures and their articulation will be way more limited. They're cool figures, but if you want some sort of main boss centerpiece, there are better toys out there.

>>11700593
>>11700594
Man, I wish I played more Elden Ring. I got into it hard when it first came out, but then hit a wall, took a break and now I don't even remember how to play. It's been so long I might as well start over from the beginning.

>>11700816
It's absurd they haven't done so yet, and seeing as they're updating their 1.0 sculpts, I have even less hope of a new Brute Orc coming out.

But that's something they seem to do often, drop a figure hinting at a new race or cool sub group...and then never touch it again. Hell, we're still waiting on more of Clavian's "Cimson-hued brethren" and I fully expect Mwindajji to be a one off example of his race.

The VToys armoured wolf guy you mean?
There was also the weird case of the Rellana that I got excited over. It was supposed to have been officially licensed and be shown at Wonderfest, but was absent. Then a few weeks later, promos of it showed up called chivalrous knight or something, with the Rellana helm blurred. It then appeared as a pre-order, but only on Bombusbee with an $80 deposit, instantly sold out, came back into stock and instantly sold out again. I actually asked BBB about the deposit being so high and they just told me that was what the factory demanded if them. Not heard or seen anything on it since. Quite odd.

Also I fucked up this post 4 times, insane, hopefully none of you noticed.
>>
I also noticed nobody posted these yet, but those giantess gladiator girls are up for pre-order.
>>
The figure is really big if I remember, despite them saying 1/12. I vaguely recall them saying they were supposed to be like deity size whatever that means, so they are like 8 or 9 inches or something.
>>
>>
>>11703081
>so they are like 8 or 9 inches or something
Snu snu.
I have a couple of ogre scaled Legions. An Amazonian giantess would be nice to have, both in real life and in my toy collection. I like the face better than the Xesray girls.
>>11703083
I can already see that's going to be a butt plate.

>>
>>11703438
>man i missed this?
I wouldn't worry, I don't think so. It either won't actually be made or the real pre-order window will come oater, I think BBB just jumped the gun.

I don't think there has been a pre-order for wolf guy yet, no and I imagine that male blank is one of the Chinese ones which all seem be on the large side of 1/12, but yeah should be a standard guy I think. I'll see if I can find actual measurements for the gladiator girl.
>>
>>11703139
>Still quite big though.
Yeah, compared to a Legion I'm guessing she's more like Rocky Emerson height rather than being ogre scaled.
Which is still hot.

It won't let me upload images, but if this pic is accurate, she should only be about 7" tall. That's slightly taller then he average Legions figure, but not even as tall as a Masterverse figure. She'll be a big girl, but won't be a towering giant compared to most other figures.

>>11703738
The rest of their figures have been pretty solid, so I have high hopes. Doubt we'll see many other companies taking a crack at Elric though so this may be a 'Take what you get' situation.
>>
>>11703778
Yeah I dunno where I thought I read she was bigger, sorry.
>>
>>11703832
Well a true 1:12 female figure standing 7' tall is pretty big all things considered. But it's something I remember hearing about her as well so it's not just you.

Though there were a few other "Barbarian" girls announced around the same time so maybe it just got mixed up with another line.
