What are some toys you had but never knew the gimmicks for?
I had Nak Naks but I didn't know you were supposed to stack them

I remember having these as a child. They never worked like in the photo. At least most didn't. I remember just staring at them one day and thinking to myself, "What's the point when lego mini figures already exist." It just seemed like another 200X's gross out toy for boys.

I had one I got from McDonald's. Thought it was ugly and dumb

Wow, there's a toy I completely forgot existed until just now. Think I had quite a few of them from Happy Meals, including the ones in the pic, though I just used them as normal toys.
Don't think I ever understood the point of Mighty Beanz despite having collected a few dozen as a kid.

Xevoz included playfields and pieces for a tabletop game, but I have never met a single person who played the game or even read the ruleset. Similarly, Kre-O Dungeons & Dragons sets included playing cards for (again) some kind of tabletop game that nobody ever played.

I definitely remember these but I don't remember them being so ugly.

Once owned a Man-E-Faces. He did what he did, I just had no idea what he was from then
