Robots are cool
what was your last robot purchase?
>>11693845I got myself an original release Taskforce alpha S-Gundam. I had a mini heart attack when they announced the new one thinking it was going to be a brand new mold and I should've waited instead. It still rocks, I can see why they aren't letting go of it quite yet.
>Metal Spirit Nu is outI do like the the look.Though I do wish they kept the larger chest size akin to the massive production nu.The new one follow the tiny chest/long legs combo like the RG and PGU though not as extreme. A bit like the EGShould I buy it locally for an extra 10 usd to support local store?
>>11693845this X-3 and I'm considering getting the Full Cloth this year to really close the crossbone chapter for me>>11694319sure why not, local distributors are good as long as they don't full retarded and try to double the prices
>>11694325>I'm considering getting the Full Cloth this year to really close the crossbone chapter for meyou may as well get the new x1 since it comes with more shit+the fc parts.
>>11694338Wrong pic.
>>11694338the half cloth? it is missing the skull in the chest and the sword, while cool, it is just plain silly
>>11694345It's from a manga oneshot. It's not Skull Heart, it's X1 with half the full cloth.
>>11694498I know, I read itit is weird they even made that thing, the fact it is missing the skull in the chest adn the peacock smasher is jsut a no-no for me, rather get the actual thing down in a few months
>>11694319go for it, I had to pay 50 for mine for shipping and tariff
>>11694319which one has the better proportion between this and the double fin funnel? what do you guys think?
>>11694740I like double better proportion wise since his broader shoulder armor is well, broader. The middle looks the nicest though thanks to the clean white.
>>11694740super nit pick, but the yellow on the double FF Nu really bugs me, I like the orange on the regular Nu much better.
>>11694345Where the fuck would you even display that thing?>>11694740did they ever made the HWS equipment for any of these?
>>11694740I'm happy the MR Sazabi got announced, but I really want a MR Re-GZ so bad. I know there is a MR Re-GZ Custom (I have it), but the Re-GZ has never been done in the entire Robot Damashii history. It will have a hefty price because of the BWS vehicle it comes with.
>>11694760>did they ever made the HWS equipment for any of these? No. They made a HWS Nu in the old MSiA line, and one for the Gundam Fix Figuration line, but never made one as a Robot Damashii release.
>>11693845Figure - Hyaku Shiki (whenever it was released)Only bought model kits since then, think the most recent was a Unicorn.
>>11693845I paid for pic related almost a month ago and they still don't have it in stock. I'm also forced into bote shipping, won't have it for a long while.
>>11695252wat is this?
>>11695436A robot from a gacha game I do not play. Apparently it's been more than four years since the announcement of the figure.
MR Nu is really cool, there are few small things I don't like but I'm still glad that I got it.
>>11696661
>>11696664
>>11696661>>11696664>>11696667Man, it looks so good but i already have the double fin funnel version so i'm skipping this one.>>11694766Same, i just hope the price isn't as insane as the RD XI gundam.Did anyone here got the past release of the XI? I love the design but i just couldn't justify the price for a RD, but now they're also releasing the missile parts set so i'm about to break and decide to pay 350usd plus taxes for a RD...
>>11696661Looks good. I still haven’t even been charged for mine, amiami is really slow these days.
>>11696686I got the very first Xi RD in buyee I think for like 3k yen back in the dayseeing the current prices is just plain insane to me
>>11696686>>11696884>35k yenjesus christ
>>11696686>>11696947also, guess they will make too the Alyzeus monstrosity right? wonder if they will recycle the mass produced Nu mold or make some slight changes
>>11696686>>11696947Such a fucking ugly suit. I hate Hathaway's Flash suit designs.
>>11697410its an acquired taste
Was given these Gundam model instructions booklets by a kindly old comic store owner. Are they worth anything? Does anybody want them, or want them uploaded? Or is it okay to just throw them away?
So mainline RDs are dead, I moved onto a Chinese line inspired by RDs which are more robot damashii than robot damashii, in that they are more durable and maintainable(self assembly kit so easy to take apart). Strong POM and thick ABS plastic, heavier than robot damashii equivalents. Recent releases use POK instead of POM for joints. They are way stiffer and almost indestructible and requires some loosening to enjoy, but more sustainable in the long run. They are as sustainable as Revoltech revolver joints.PS joints of Bandai Gunpla will break if we move it a 100 times.POM joints of action figures will loosen if we move it a 100 timesPOK joints will be loosened to be play friendly if we move it a 100 times.
>>11697641The line is Sheik Mainland. Even though they are assembly kits on runners(ABS and POM/POK), the end result is the most durable action figure in the industry, so I think they belong in this thread. There are also KOs of assembly kits of MRD Destiny and Impulse and the end result is identical to Bandai factory built MRD figures aside from the paint. Parts fit is challenging for these MRD KOs due to the nature of these POM and diecast parts that are intended to be built in a factory, but the end result figure is worth the extra effort building from home.
>>11697641Next release looks like Alto or Ebikawa Gundam Age MS.
>>11697426I think if you like it you need to acquire taste.
>>11697644>Even though they are assembly kits on runners(ABS and POM/POK), the end result is the most durable action figure in the industryPlamo =/=action figureYou're glowing brighter than the fucking son. Go shill in the plamo thread at least.
Damn I remember why these are priced so high.It just looks so damn goodI want to say I love it 100% but the same reasons that make this looks so damn impressive also make it a very bad "toy".I never play with the Mass production Nu because the manual says:"Warning: May rub off"Everywhere. Same goes here. With all the fancy extra this is more of display piece than a toy. Some side notesThis version is clearly based off of the current longer legs/slim torso look. More closely to the EG than the RG/PGU look. Personally I prefer the classic MG/HGUC proportion. The PGU/RG I think looks atrocious with how tiny the body yet the extremely thick legs. but this one managed to keep a balance with the newer proportion. I would say I will be getting the MB Sazabi. Anyway If we wait long enough I think we'll get the more movie accurate Nu from the RD anime line. But consider they are no where near done with Z, I think it would probably another 7 years before we get another Nu.>Time to actually get my HGUC Nu properly made
>>11697641>>11697644Fucking hell as if the chinkshit not!Metal Builds weren't bad enough already but at least those are actually action figures, fuck off to >>11674614 or >>11674797>PS joints of Bandai Gunpla will break if we move it a 100 timesESL retard>>11697655That's some of the shittiest cheapest looking plastic I've ever seen look at how swirly it is.
>>11697721fuck you
>>11697641If I wanted to build model kits I would be in the Gunpla thread
>>11696884my old RD Xi seems to have yellowed completely sans the face mask, which remains completely whiteit is weird, in hand the color has become something more like bone/white with a faint yellow tint. It actually gives a vintage look imo, but the camera pics don't really show it, if anything, it looks whiter in them
>>11697886only the shoulder triangles seem to show the faint yellow ad under direct sunlight it is even harder to noticeit is pretty weird considering I have a couple of arcadia Valks that went from pure white to full yellow inside their boxes
>>11697886i live in constant fear of this
if that is your same figure, the color difference is very noticeable when comparing >>11696884 to >>11697887this is exactly why I stopped buying predominantly white colored figures of anything, it is a lottery, some age like that, others not
>>11698257yeah I got other white figures that suffered from that:the RD Dragonar 1 turned entirely yellow, it is as it got a permanent sepia filter lolthe RD Crossbones X-1 Full Cloth and X-3 also aged weird, some of their parts tunerd yellowish, either partly or only in some of the segments (helmet, skirt armors, or binders=
>>11694740Original RD Nu is the only one that can mount the shield on the side of the arm. Always annoys me that no other Nu is willing to ditch that archaic shield mount - Nobody wants gorilla arms in 2026 Bandai.
>>11697886Honestly digging that yellowed vibe, gives it a bit of a 80s retroness
>>11696661I got mine, I like it a lot. So glad it respects the original Nu design for the most part, unlike the RG kit. Looking forward to the MR Sazabi and (fingers crossed) Re-GZ
>>11696947I'd rather buy a Ka Signature Messer.
>>11698758yeah it kinda gives a bit retro/vintage lookhopefully it does not get more yellow
>>11696884I still find the regular RD and MRD in a decent price range, but the price of the XI Gundam and the Nightingale it's just nuts. How's the HG Xi gundam in terms of flimsiness?
>>11699348It is a very solid kit, the massive size makes it very easy to work. The only fragile thing are those flap binder things on the sides of the legs. The ones in the RD are immobile but in the HG they are part of the flight mode transformation and are inserted on a vertical hinge, in my case one broke the moment after I inserted it so I had to superglue it.
This is a bit of a long shot but are there any fans of Xabungle here? I can't decide if I want the Chogokin or Hi-Metal R and I can't even find a comparison video of the two. Or even a good review of the Iron Gear. Does anyone happen to know how big the tiny Walker Machines are in the Iron Gear chogokin set? I want to see if I have any other tiny robots that would look good with it.
Was pleasantly surprised to find the GU Gquuuuuux at Walmart today. This thing is a beast compared to the high grade.
I got these guys just because they were dirt cheap and I’ve been having fun with them so far, but now I’m thinking about moving to mrd, but I don’t know if its worth it
>>11701282I like MRDs, however they're pretty noticeably different from regular RDs. MRDs are for display, they have a lot of paint apps that can rub off if you handle them too much. Regular RDs can be either for display or play.MRDs still have the same playability as RDs, it just really comes down to how much you care about potentially scarring up the figure during play.
modifying the RD Strike Ver Anime so it's closer to the shigeta style. been a fun project.
Lot of expensive stuff went up for preorder this month, ember toys mazinkaizer, gattai land bison, riobot weissritter and amakuni genesic gaogaigar. I’d like to get all of them but at these prices it’s just not doable. Think I’m gonna go for gaogaigar but it’s a tough call. Anyone else planning to get any of them?
>>11704387>Anyone else planning to get any of them?Nope. I've preordered one figure in about 6 months.Nothing too exciting is getting released these days.
>>11704387saw all that stuff, yeah it looks cool but it is way too expensive nowdays to justify any of it
do you prefer the 1/60 scale DX Macross Chogokin valks or the chunkier 1/48 DX VF-1 mold?
>>11694319I just got mine. Havnt been excited for Gundam toys lately, but this thing is awesome. It's got me excited for RDs again. Bring on the Sazabi.
That one gunpla guy was apparently given samples of the T Spark Legioss (both versions). It seems fine, but the blue version seems lacking in accesories. One of the main selling points on this new Legioss is a hard point system, it just seems strange they haven't done any accesories pack or something to go along with it.
>>11705788the hardpoint stuff feels undercooked in general both on t spark and the new masterpiece transformer line, its kind of like they're just doing it because its normally a feature on cheaper toys like CHUG transformers and they want to push that these aren't collectibles, they're toys.
>>11706675It seemed intentional to pair the braves with transformers since one is an off shoot of the other with clear influence from them, the thing about the Legioss is, the only Takara profucts that use those types of connections are diaclone figures, and I can't even recall how common they are, not to mention they're the most expensive toys they have. It's pretty much the opposite situation to the Brave figures (the expensive toys can use accesories from the cheaper figures). Meanwhile, even the cheapest diaclone product tends to run up to 80 bucks these days, and the Legioss would need something closer to the 150-200 to get compatible accesories.
>>11705656question did Arcadia went broke? their website is fucking dead and they have not released anythin in years
What scale / size is this line? Please humor me, newfag here.
>>11710677Non scale but 1/144 most likely.
>>11710684It's like 1/120. They're fuckign huge compared to the HGACs.
>>11710677MRD has no real consistent scaling. Some are the size of regular RDs, some are way bigger. But the wing ones are around 1/120 like the other anon said.
>>11710684>>11710749Thank you. I caved and bought it, used, as the seller has good reviews and took thorough pictures. I was hoping it would scale with my Gundam Universe collection but it sounds like it will be a bit bigger. I need another expensive hobby like I need a hole in the head… I should quite now while I’m ahead, I have the main five MS from Wing and a few of the EW figures. What I really need is a better display setup.
>>11710845Gundam universe is even bigger. They're basically like 1/100 scale. Keep in mind the wing suits are supposed to be like 16m, shorter than the usual MS.
>>11711316Ah, oh well, close enough for me not to stress it too much. It would be nice if they pushed out more Universe figures, at least the rest of the EW MS. So far they’ve just done Wing EW and Deathscythe EW right?
>>11711607This looks offensively North American.
I don't know where to complain about this so I'm doing it here.>delayed almost an entire year from original release dateFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. The only silver lining might be for it to get delayed so long that orange man's tariffs get repealed. A man can dream.
>>11717539>the only silver lining might be for it to get delayed so long that orange man's tariffs get repealed.Or tripled as it's looking likely.
>>11717539action toys seems to struggle to release anything on timei actually ended up canceling this way back when the tariffs got announced because it was supposed to come out around then...
anyone here preordered the upcoming restock of the DX chogokin VF-1S? I'm looking now for the super parts but fuck are those expensive as fuck
>>11718107fucking finally, i was starting to think the line was dead
>>11718107>Asshimar before Zeta>Messala before ZetaI guess Bandai realise most people are just waiting for the Zeta and would likely skip over these suits if they came out afterwards.I bought the Zeta HG Revive the other day, just give me a Psycho Gundam and The O then I can be done.
Cool new Front Mission looking mechas coming from threezero
>>11718162They go more or less in order of appearance. It’s not 100% perfect but you can somewhat predict the order of the releases in the ANIME line based on when they appeared in the anime. Right now the only major standouts are the Messala, the Marasai, and the Nemo. After those are released then we should definitely start expecting to see hints of the Zeta finally releasing.
Did anyone order the HMR ScopeDog from HLJ?Has your order been fulfilled?
>>11718107When does this come out?
>>11721698It hasn't even been shown off yet.
