this looks so fucking ugly
I see another pegwarmer toy line
>>
Is it called First Ones because of the old ass articulation? Like single joints and such?
>>
>>11695084
Continue to use the old one then, have a great time.
>>
>>11695085
Fuck off frog. You only just went insane doing this with 50 lego threads last week. Why are you like this
>>
>>11695067
Are they called "first ones" because they're cheaper for parents to get their kids and hopefully hook the next gen of consoomers?
>>

That’s my thinking
>>
>>11695067
Teela looks even worse in toy form.

The in hand chronicle pictures look better than the renders. Her and evil Lyn were pushed back to fall so I assume they are aware of complaints.

Anon, it may be true that the toy-look Teela that most fans prefer and and fan-favourite 2002 Teela definitely aren't porcelain white, but when there's a narrative about raceflipping to defend, Filmation is suddenly the DEFINITIVE Teela. Please understand this.

That's literally false, but the plastic used for most, but not all, versions darkened over time.
A piece of motu history likely unknown to the average superfan.

I'm gonna say true, but only because I don't think they'll ever do all of the vehicles. I still have faith that they can complete the cast of OG figures but I won't be holding my breath for a Dragon Walker (though I'd gladly be wrong)
>>
>>11695335
Hell yeah, I’m honestly more stoked on the budget line. I think the sculpts look pretty good at that price point and the limited articulation has its charm. I imagine they will be easy to nab all figures compared to the “collectors” line. I just hope they don’t limit the smaller scale to JUST movie based figures.
>>
>>11695251
depends on cost but i'll pick at least one up
>>

I think I might mix and match. Chronicles He-Man looks fantastic to me but I definitely prefer First Ones Teela (at least from the pics so far)
>>

>No mutants
>200X mold prioritized over standard origins buck = ugly proportions
>Swappable hair and accessories on Lion-O amd He-man leading to both figures looking fugly and underwhelmimg

They just could have done alot better. Cheetara, Mumm-Ra, and Battle Cat Man are the only ones that look perfect.

I havent seen any confirmation but it really wouldnt surprise me if they were running circles around the competition. Sonic's been a gangbuster success for them and even outside of the holiday season the figures rarely linger on shelves. The Mario movie line sold really well too. For as much as people dunk on their simpsons collection, it still managed to make it to 5 or 6 waves. That's nothing to turn your nose up at.
>>
>>11695335
there is no way they retail for $10. someone missed a one while typing $19.99
>>
>>11696024
Why not? They still won’t be selling at a loss. They won’t 10x their profits but it serves as marketing and an entry point for a whole new generation of consumers. It’s a great business decision especially if they makeup that extra $10 from vehicles and play sets anyone that buys in to the figures will get. I had no interest in getting them but at $10 I’ll be getting some for me and family members.
>>
>>11696033
If these are still not at a loss at $10 then every other toy company is ripping us off and has us over a barrel. Even Mattel themselves with Origins.

>>11695176
Adding onto my post >>11695574 I do think it was really cool and felt natural as a cross-over. I was happy with what we got, only that it felt like it had more potential than what we got. Unless there are more figures coming- in that case bring them on!

>>11696024
>>11696033
>Why not?
Correct.
The Superman movie toys, the 6" line were selling from $7.99 to $9.99 at the start. Sure, some people put them out at $19.99 but only impatient fucks paid that.

>>11696037
>then every other toy company is ripping us off
The tariffs from Vietnam have been more stable and certain which has helped the production of anything coming from there. I don't pay enough attention about Origins but I'm sure Mattel is large enough that they were making toys all over.
>>
>>11696073
MotU is Vietnam

If it's a hit, they'd go forward with more projects and we'd see even more product.
If it flops, the brand dies aside from Mattel Creations stuff, and then that'll die once the molds are unusable.
If it's like sonic levels of success it's a bit tougher, I think it'd be the same amount of push for the brand from before the movie was right around the corner, enough to keep it relevant but not too much investment until the next project comes out and then base the future on that's performance

I have a ton of Masterverse figures but I found myself not opening most of them so they're just sitting in their boxes. Whenever I opened one I always felt the figure was lacking in the articulation department, so in that aspect I'm definitely looking forward to giving Chronicles a go. And then the even worst aspect, Masterverse are a pain to get in Canada, and for whatever reason the waves I've no interest show up as available, then the ones I am interested in like NE Ninjor and NE AE He-Man are just not available at retail. Missing all the figures I actively want is a quick way to lose interest in a line. I'd have to think that distribution will be good with the movie, at least at first.

I'll just say if the're lying to us and movie will flop because waaay too much time is spend on Earth, franchise's reputation will never recover.
>>
>>11696371
Last time movie flopped, franchise took quite a hit. Motu isn't on DC level in the end.

>>11696395
I really doubt First Ones will out the same niche.as Origins. in comparison, if Chronicles finishes movie and starting doing random stuff like Draego-Man or 200X Skeletor, then they're almost the same thing.
>>
>>11695536
It was the 90s, they were meant to compete or compare to the muscular superhero figures of the time, MOTU was long dead at that point
>>
With how many MotU figures are on sale , I find it hard to believe Mattel and retail make a profit on this and yet it just keeps going. They must be. Which is a horrific indictment of other companies whose stuff now does not go on sale at all.
>>
>>11696775
I'm willing to believe the reports that most of the movie is spent on eternia, but it's pretty obvious from the trailer that he'll only become He-Man for the last 5 minutes of the movie. You'd think they'd stop doing that kind of thing after it failed with so many other franchises, just look at the 2017 Power Rangers movie that did the exact same thing, what a hit.
>>
>>11696832
>last 5 minutes
He is He Man during the snake mountain fight and he is becoming He Man probably somewhere inside Grayskull because there is a Talon Fighter there. I think he does become He Man in the third act but could be the last 30-40 mins depending on runtime though I guess it will be around 2 hours mark.. That's still enough, I also don't think the Skeletor vs He Man fight is the final battle between them from the movie.
>>
>>11696421
You can tell it’s over, they made Mosquitor to appease Pixel Dan. Otherwise they’d never hear the end of it.

>>11696842
It looks like he transforms to fight Trap Jaw so there’s no need for the secret identity bullshit. Unless he willing transforms back and forth as needed.

This could be my dream movie. No need for Prince Adam and no Orko (fingers crossed).

>>
>>11696421
blatant lies, exactly what a corporation would say
>>
>>11696851
That's something I've loved in modern post-Classics MotU, the virtual abandonment of the secret. It's all been either everyone knows from the start (CGI and apparently the movie) or the secret is let out of the bag early on (Rev, and the DC crossover comics with Thundercats and Injustice)

Only that new Sword of Flaws seems to be regressed back to it and it feels lame after so long of not using it
>>
>>11696868
No we wouldn't.
>>
Anon told you all last night itt
Skeletor attacks at the beginning of the movie looking for prince Adam because he knows he’s heman. This is a Shazam type situation. That’s why he refers to it as his sword in the trailer. There’s also a new prequel series and you can’t have a heman show without heman.
>>
>>11696916

Mattel focus groups after the 2002 toys were on the shelves revealed boys didn't like He-Man because of his lack of clothes.

The new Sword of Flaws is a throwback to vintage/Filmation lore so yeah it went back. Now that it’s an ongoing maybe they’ll grow out of it along the way.

I totally agree it’s so much better without it. It’s alright to have Prince Adam in maybe a chosen one or Sword in the Stone type situation but the sneaking off to a phone booth is played out. Mark Taylor created Prince Adam as an antagonist whose loyalties shifted to who had more gold. When they brought DC into create those comics they just applied Superman to the scenario. Kids like a hero with a secret identity just like their favorite superheroes. Filmation had so many fags working there they added their in the closet baggage to it which ruined it looking back on it.

I don’t even know where to begin Anon. It was all very subtle not like today where they would beat you over the head with it or you’d have PSAs about respecting pronouns or it’s fine for a boy to like another boy. It flew over everyone’s heads but I didn’t pick up on it til after meeting the many gays off He-Man.org at cons or someone like Cracked made fun of screen caps like the one I posted.

There was one where He-Man rode a rocket in a rainbow portal, Bow & Adam on a horse with rainbow ears. The rainbow find the elf. Madam Raz and most of the women Horde feel like drag queen templates. Most of She-Ra’s realm. Man At Arms with Adam and his secrets. Hiding scerets about yourself from your parents. The limp wristed dragon that had Bow wearing a pink dress. Prince Adam’s outfit. The lights during the “transformations” look like sperm. Any male with a mustache. Lord Mask looks like a pride parade outfit. FABULOUS secret powers. I could go on and on. It’s all subtle though so kids probably won’t notice, my generation didn’t til adulthood.

Most of Hollywood was gay but secretive about it. I met an actress who caved and did her first ever nude sex scene in a movie. Someone asked if she was nervous being completely naked with all those crew men around and she was like hell no. Most of them were gay. They were probably afraid to look between my legs as she laughed.
>>
>>11697309
That looks like a pretty nice face sculpt. Almost with it was face plates they were working with though, and there were two different expressions, but what's there looks nice. I'd really like to see reviews of these figures (or have it in-hand, obviously).
>>
>>11697212
Do you actually live in Germany? Because unless you live in a country that's actually listed on the Mattel website, you straight up can't buy anything from there so it doesn't really matter
>>
>>11696327
>They'd have to do a lot more than repaint Snake Mountain to turn it into the prototype version so I doubt it.
They didn't bother to sculpt a new left side of the clam-shell for Grayskull to match the prototype. It was just a straight up repaint so it's possible they could do the same for Snake Mountain.
>>
>>11697371
No, Spain.
I see that it is on the list for international orders on the main Mattel Creations US site, and now that you mention it, the German site doesn't appear to have international shipping, indeed. So, I guess I shall use Mattel Creations US in the absence of a Mattel Creations España?
>>
>>11697211
>I dont want my sons watching this satanic shit
The worst that'll happen to your kids watching the Filmation series is that they'll become kinder people who respect their parents and don't believe in cheating. It might also throw them a bit at first that Adam's parents actually like each other.
>>
>>11697659
What about Mattel UK?

I mean both might be subject to customs but maybe shipping will be a little cheaper. Haven't looked if the actual product prices are any different though.
>>
>>11697820
Nah, they only mention local and Scotland; they even exclude North Ireland.
Meanwhile the US site offers me prices in € unlike UK, and they claim that the prices I'm seeing include duties, so, yeah, it looks like I'm supposed to buy from there.
>>
>>11698021
I'm a bong and I always buy from the Mattel Creations US store. Flat shipping so ordering a few things, especially when they're doing a 20% off sale is pretty cost-effective.

The thing that bothers me about race swaps in this movie is that it makes me at Axel OCs for being such shit. Hold on this will make sense in a second

>raceswapping for diversity whatever it's not new
>but if we had ew characters of different ethnicities we wouldnt need to raceswap old ones
>It could mean we get things that are infinitely more creative like Aztec warriors, samurai, Zulu, luchador wrestlers, mariachi skeletors, egyptian gods, half of these could be cute girls and/or robots for no reason because its MotU
>ok but we need to do the original characters because there are so many of them we dont need new ones and IP recognition wharever
>except in the toys
>but all we get are axel gets to make so many boring shitty OCs like an evil wizard skeletor and a wolf and more snakes.

Think about it, though-- He-Man ended up replacing Star Wars as the #1 boy's brand in the 80s, and during its last dying breaths, Kenner added the words "Power of the Force" to the Star Wars line, in response to He-Man's "I have the Power!" catch phrase. Then the Star Wars toyline died out for a decade, and as soon as it came back, what did we see? The "Power of the Force" undertitle was still there, and what's more, the characters had all been given Rob Liefeld-inspired redesigns that brought them closer to He-Man. Kenner was convinced nobody wanted Star Wars toys that looked realistic because realistic = whimpy, and they had to convince kids that Star Wars was cool by making them look more over the top and muscular, like MOTU. Obviously MOTU was culturally irrelevant in the mid 90s, but Kenner was still reeling from having been slapped around by the rock n' roll muscle men, and overcorrected. You can see that in Kenner's GI Joe Extreme line, too.

The dumb thing is that it wasn't roided up muscle men that ended up outselling He-Man, it was the more realistically proportioned GI Joe RAH line, and Kenner's own Ghostbusters toyline. I think the industry was utterly confused by the sudden death of Star Wars, and then that was followed by the even more sudden death of MOTU when the animated series got canceled and Mattel failed to keep the core characters like He-Man and Skeletor available, with increasingly lame and outlandish characters being the only thing they were shipping when the line started crashing.
>>
I'm trying to decide if some figures I originally skipped would actually be worth the cost of going back and add to my collection now.

What do you guys generally think of
>Wun-Dar
>Slamurai
>Rokkon
>Kol Darr
>Snake Trooper

Worth pursuing on secondary market, or just let'm go?
>>
>>11698379
It always seems I'm the only guy with love for Kol Darr. He's simple but if you can enjoy a motu KO vibe ...he's excellent. I played with him a lot. And what I mean is that those KO lines always have a hero characters who is obviously just a "legally distinct but worse" version of He-Man. For whatever reason Kol's helmet just elevates him for me.
Wun-Dar is my go to He-Man to fiddle with when I'm sitting at my desk. I gave him a spare half-power sword to play up early unsettled lore vibes.
Snake Trooper is one of the Origins I dislike. This was right around when snakes started to take over the Motu revival and I was just really underwhelmed and didn't feel like his head fit really well into the trooper's armor. It's like he needed a neck or something. Plus Mattel didn't give him the correct weapon. So a lot of little things made this guy a dud for me.
Slamurai. One of the best repaints because its so obvious and simple. Drip personified.

Slamurai is cool. I skipped him and went back later to buy him.
I want Kol Darr so bad, but man the prices are stupid. Still butt hurt about Mattel messing his release up. They should have re-released him later like they did Wun-Dar. Speaking of, I like Wun-Dar too.
>>
>>11698379
It’s tough to recommend some of these since some of them are pricey. Kol-Darr is unique but the most expensive. He’s never been made before and he matches the line compared to the Filmation spin off line. Wundar, Slamurai & the Snake Trooper are historical since 1 was a pretty rare fig and the other 2 never made it back in the 80s. Rokkon is cool but he’s smaller than the rest. The other hand Stonedar is probably coming in the next few months so then you’d have the pair.

All of them are good by me.

vintage Rokkon and Stonedar were shorter than other MOTU figures too

The bigger issue with Rokkon is that they didn't let the paint on his arms cure properly so the elbows stick, enough to break if you don't boil em first

At least Wun-Dar and Rokkon are pretty cheap, Kol-Darr not so much

He's still correct, he didn't even say she was ugly. He should have though, in the sense she is another modern actor/actress that is absolutely nowhere near the requisite star quality for cinema. Fine for the mall or life in general, not good enough for the screen. The movie industry is basically the same as modern wrestling now, no stories and everyone is an indie jobber with absolutely no draw power or charisma.
>>
>>11698730
>>Snake Trooper
>Fuck snakes

Snake Trooper doesn't even make sense as a Snake army builder because he's wearing the Horde symbol

He'd make a lot more sense if he was a unique individual character, not an army builder, and if he was like a self loathing snake man that hates the other snake men and joined the Horde as a traitor...like how Modulok was said to be Skeletor's mook that betrayed him to join the Horde. That sounds like a more fun use of the figure to me.
>>
>>11698829
My 2 Snake Troopers are on the Horde shelf. They're basically a head swap of the black Powercon Horde Trooper.

>I even loved the Transformer ones and am not sure why they were hated so much.
The translation to figure and even characters picked to link up was pretty meh. Still bought extras for parts. People were telling Mattel at the reveal that the character crossovers selection should have been better. MAA/Brawn alone is a go-to.

TMNT x MOTU started well. Too many of the four brothers instead of more characters. TC x MOTU is great for getting Lion-o, Panthro, Cheetara, Tygra with Classic forms. BC Man and repaint Panthor Man is creative. Why repaint Lion-o and Panthro already? Will there be Tygra and Cheetara repaints?
>>
>>11699220
I hope we still get origins styled crossovers. I really enjoyed them, even the "weaker" ones like TF and Stranger Things.
>>
>>11699292
I got the sense Transformers irked alot of people because it wasnt the TF cast translated into the MOTU form factor as much as it was MOTU characters in TF cosplay. From the onset alot of fans were upset they werent getting transforming MOTU vehicles, when they realized Mattel wasnt going the pretenders route either it just stung. I'm still wondering if they'll bother with TF repaints. Nemesis Faker, Cliffjumper at Arms, G2 Skeletron, and Skywarp Scareglow would probably sell well as two pack or four pack exclusives.
>>
>>11699318
I'm honestly surprised they didnt pad out the entirety of Wave 3 with just palette swap recolors. Ofcourse Panthor-Man is just that, but in place of gold Lion-O and silver Panthro they could have covered Bengali and Pumyra (repaints of Tygra and Cheetara respectively). Hell now that I think about it even Lynx-o would have been a pretty easy repaint, he's Panthro with a beard.
>>
>>11699276
I really like Sketchbook releases too. I hope we get more of those. I dont understand why they always clearance.

Cliffjumper really is my favorite of the bunch. I cant shake the feeling the decision not to do silver robot faces really tanked the concept for alot of people. All the others are cherries atop the sundae. Scourge/Nemesis Faker and Skywarp especially so. G2 Skeletron I can see being the peg warmer of the bunch but I just thought the colors would work so well. When I get more credits I'll try a Disco Skeletron for laughs.

What >>11697725 said
There are no romantic or sexual things in it at all (well maybe one or two characters getting protective or flirty once in awhile, coughFrostacough). I think its fair for people to see He-Man as a gay icon sort of deal if they want to see that, even though I don't see anything speifically gay about him myself. People will see what they want to see. He's a positive influence in the Filmation cartoons regardless. I don't think there's anything satanic about it. Sure there is the normal magic, sorcery, calling upon Castle Grayskulls for power, etc. but those are all common tropes in fantasy and not specifically satanic though. Evil is still treated as evil and encouraged be stopped while doing good. But you are the parent so you should make that descretion yourself.
>>
>>11697316
>Hiding scerets about yourself from your parents.
Except he doesn't actively hide it from his parents. He told his dad indirectly in an episode and his mom outright told him she knew he was He-Man in one episode. Lying to his parents about it is something Adam tells Sorcereress he doesn't like doing. Most of the shit you're listing wasn't really considered gay in the 80s and most of your examples come from the cartoon aimed at girls. You're looking at things through tainted modern lenses. Piss off with your lies. He makes it clear he's just speculating. I dont even know if movie has enough characters that it would be possible to release as many figures as Origins does, especially year after year until sequel.

>>11699356
They decided that putting big names on shelves would work better (and it kinda did since some people decided to mix skin tones and clothes) than more obscure characters that would either need new tooling or look very off-model.

>>11699499
I'll be honest, I was never under the impression that Cartoon Collection will complete any line-up. Im kinda annoyed we don't have CC Khan because he's the only recurring Evil Warrior we need now for full set but I was never convinced we're getting Zodac, Sorceress, Fisto, Mekaneck, Jitsu, Roboto, Sy-Klone, Moss Man, Rokkon, Stonedar, Modulok, Horde Trooper and Multi-Bot. Just as I didn't expected New Eternia do to all characters.
Movie has some chance of getting all characters...if it's successful.

>>11699675
Sorry to burst your bubble but I dont recall Teela using a sword too much (I think it breaks in second episode) and shield at all in the cartoon so I doubt she'll have them. You'll have to get them from Zoar 2-pack Are they that important even? MEr-Man likes dual wielding, Skeletor pulls out blade to sword-fight He-Man but why Teela Teela would need all those? They're used for similar purposes and she cant wield all of them at once.

yeah sorceress is easily the most essential character missing from the cartoon collection, other than maybe an updated battle cat.

2021 cartoon and Masterverse are the only He-Man lines that have really failed in modern times. Surprisingly given that you'd think the brand would be dead by now. Classics and Origins both did really well and each more or less finished the entire He-Man cast, including a hefty amount of unproduced or non-toy characters. Classics also did all the humanoid She-Ra characters. I think Classics even did all the New Adventures characters and most of the original 200x characters.

Masterverse failed because it came too soon after Classics ending and was all over the place. Classic fans weren't ready to restart. They were either content with what they had, or wanted more obscure shit. Masterverse was all over the place too. It started as a line for the Netflix show before attempting drastic redesigns with its New Eternia/New Etheria line but by that point most people were tuned out. The recent swerve into recreations of the original line didn't do well either because that's what Origins already did. I think if they do a movie line and then shift into something like New Eternia/New Etheria it'd be more of a success.
>>

>>11700558
I can word it...it's not toy colors
Like, ok, I'm not foolish enough to insist they give her body paint, I'm more talking about the costume. Evil-lyn wears purple and blue. Why is this solid black? Every other character seems to wear the right colors, even if they're muted. They made Evil-lyn completely dull in a world where everyone else retained some of the colorfulness
>>
>>11700581
>Classics also did all the humanoid She-Ra characters. I think Classics even did all the New Adventures characters and most of the original 200x characters.

They even gave us aNew Adventures of She-ra OC
>>
>>11700581
>>11700731
Classics didn't do half the NA cast.
They only did Flipshot, Hydron, Mara from the Guardians and Flogg, Slushhead, Quake, Crita, Karatti and Optikk from the Mutants
>>
>>11700720
She does has blue scratches all over her armor though I admit, it's very "early 2000 superhero movie" school of character design.
>>
>>11700581
I think the unfocused nature of master verse really hampered any interest in the line. First it's the Netflix shows, then it's newer takes on the classic designs, then it's new eternia and then it's vintage and don't forget the oc stuff sprinkled in like the battle damage he man. There were some really top notch figures like vykron or slush head but the lack of cohesion was a big issue. Did they ever do any NA figure to pair with slush head?
Oh, has anyone got Despara yet? Im getting one to go with Hordak and She ra but I was curious if anyone had any issues with her.
>>
>>11700792
there's a lot to be said about how Mattel has handled motu the last half decade. I agree with your points.
I completely skipped MV for a lot of reasons, I just want chunky articulated vintage style dudes who can scratch that itch. I never had the vintage since I'm a sooner, and I love all the colorful concept stuff. Sucks the movie has dulled down everything a lot.
>>
>>11700792
Only He-Man and Skeletor. Basically aside Revelation and New Eternia any subline was treated like redheaded stepchild. I bet in retrospect, they regret pushing for subline theme.
>>

>>
>>11700802
I think if they would have presented master verse as an umbrella name and treated each wave like a mini series it would have made more sense in the long run. Like, "Master verse presents: New Eternia" or "Revelations'. It may have helped the line feel more cohesive I think.

About actor Jared Leto wanting to play Skeletor:
>TRAVIS KNIGHT: "Skeletor was a really interesting villain. He looked cool. He was scary. He was funny. He was insecure. And then of course he had this distinctive voice. I wanted someone to craft their own version of that. "Jared approached us, because he loves Skeletor and has his own history with the character. He wanted to swing for the fences. And ultimately we landed on something that I’m really happy with. Skeletor’s kind of the embodiment of toxic masculinity.”

About in previous iterations, Skeletor was going to be wearing a mask:
>"It wasn’t always going to be this way. A Masters Of The Universe reboot has been in the running for years, and previous iterations of the screenplay had Skeletor’s visage as a golden skull mask. “I said, ‘Fuck that shit. Skeletor has a skull face. That’s just the way it is. It’s a living, talking, emoting skull, and that’s that.”

The interview just reads like the crew spitting out endless strings of buzzwords. At this point I wonder if they're serious or if this is all just a promotional song and dance. It wasnt that long ago that Mattel's head of entertainment (whatever the correct title was) came out and began dishing out comparisons between this MOTU movie and Barbie while spitting word salads of similar comprehension, or lack there of.
>>
>>11701355

>>

Because the dislike towards Leto is very recent and studios haven't really caught up to the public turning on him. Skwad was a misstep but Morbius killed his reputation and turned him into a joke and most of these contracts were likely in the works before then.
>>
>>11701326
I think they're saying he's whiny, insecure, and the cause of most of his own problems. Which he is but the way they're saying it is retarded political speek. The first line about his personality was enough. I really do hope they keep what a whiny little shit Skeletor is in the original. I love in Evilseed when Evil-Lyn asks him to help her but he says no, and then proceeds to call Merman to come help him and whines at a trapped Merman because he asks Skeletor to come help him instead, so then Trap-Jaw finally helps him and the entire time Skeletor sits on his ass and complains about what a shit job Trap-Jaw is doing protecting him. Its gold and that's the kind of villain I want on screen.

He's really buff and a bad person.
I wouldn't say Filmation Skeletor was "toxic" in the sense of hurting everyone around him (that treatment of his henchmen was in 200X though), just the sort of boss who berates and refuses to help out of sheer pettiness.
>>

Is there anywhere that sells cheap Origins/vintage compatible accessories (ideally in bulk?). Like swords/staves/guns/etc.
I got a vintage thunder punch he-man since he's cheaper than the origins one, but without accessories since it was 15 dollars cheaper (and the sword he has is one of the half-ones) but I do like the look of the golden power sword but even buying one on its own is still 10+ dollars
>>
>>11701427
Revelations figures are your best bet. They're still going for pennies on the dollar.
>>
>>11701427
Look for lots on ebay and price them out per part to see if its worth it. Sometimes you'll find good 70-80 dollar lots with tons of weapons. Also always keep your eye on the specific figure/weapon you want. Sometimes you can get parts you want in pieces with a full or broken figure for cheap.
>>
>>11701320
Now that's a figure I'd buy, needs a few red stripes and some black accents but yeah man, looks good. I like the teal or whatever shade you chose.
>>
Just an idle thought...
So it was a year and half ago that they said they (allegedly) had Two-Bad fully sculpted.
Do you think they actually have entire remainder of vintage already done and ready to go? If they're willing to hold back Two-Bad well over a year, they could very well have EVERYTHING already done at this point and just biding their time, with how little is left.

They probably do. Two Bad is the last big name character they have left so they probably want to announce him alongside something like the tops or giants so he brings attention to something less notable.
>>
>>11701513
I think they do have most of them (if not all) already sculpted and ready to release. As in, I think they have them laid out and ready for production, and its only a matter of someone high up the chain giving the go to push that release out when its time. It may be strategized so they take advantage of molds as best as possible. For example, Great Black Wizard re-using Blast Attack's legs and Blast Attack being released shortly afterwards. They may have been planning for Pythonus to be released around the time of that 4-pack with his head being included in it. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a warehouse full of Pythonus figures collecting dust somewhere.
This is all me speculating of course, I have no idea what I'm talking about lol
>>
>>11701514
Yes, but Ares had SOME interesting visuals in the film that make it worth it for a massive fan.
Like the differences between the ENCOM and Dillinger Grids (the ENCOM one is a server, so it has a bunch of cities in the distance, while the Dillinger one is way more utilitarian and looks like a port), as well as the differences between how the digitization lasers both companies use (Dillinger is faster, uses multiple beams, but has a bunch of excess in the form of runners, while ENCOM still use the OG laser with the temporary cubes).
The movie is shit, but it has just enough interesting details that I would rather it exist than not.
>>
>>11701581
Pythonus' tooling must exist on a hard drive somewhere, but there's no way they'd put him into production before the Lair's funding finished.
>>
So how far do you guys expect the 200x line to go? How deep? Rumors for wave 4 are Orko, Teela, Mer-Man, and Deluxe Roboto. Wave 5 is rumored to be Buzz-Off, Keldor, and Webstor and Wave 6 is rumored to be Sorceress, Trap-Jaw, and Sy-Klone.

But if those end up being the next three waves what would be next? That would leave Mekaneck, Fisto, Whiplash, the cats, and the Snakemen to complete the main cast. King Grayskull is a must but would they do the Horde? Do you think they'd do the characters who were planned for the line before its cancelation? Jitsu, Faker, Clamp Champ, Rio Blast, and Snout Spout were meant to appear if the show continued. They all got staction figures from NECA based on their unreleased figure. Lots of cool side characters too. Scareglow appeared in the 200x comic and he's a popular character so would they do him? I hope we get to see what else this line has for us at Toyfair.

Transformers the Movie would have fit He-man better than the original series IMO.

Prince Adam + Hot Rod
He-Man + Rodimus Prime
Teela + Arcee
Man at Arms + either Ultra Magnus or Springer because green
Wheelie + Orco

Either King Randor or King Grayskull + Optimus Prime
Keldor + Megatron
Skeletor + Galvatron
Evil Lyn + Starscream

Unicron as Castle Greyskull itself. I dont care if it doesn't make sense. Unicrons floating head is iconic and Castle Greyskull spooky assed giant head is iconic. Maybe they killed him and put it there after they beat him and not before. Or it's a separate castle modeled after the Ark. Or Hordak.
All the rest of the evil Warriors or horde and MotU could be whoever else it doesn't really matter much. I can't think of anymore that match anyways.

That'd be a good idea for SDCC just so Origins doesn't get completely mogged by movie hype.
Maybe slip Stonedar in somewhere unannounced like they did Blast-Attak over the spring and then announce Two Bad and the tops side by side at the con. Then the movie, lasers and giants can coast on "vintage will finally get finished!" hype so they won't necessarily need a big name to carry them if they have that alternative marketing angle

>October was Axelshit
>November was Axelshit
>December we got a reprieve
>But then January was Axelshit again (but at least we got two Jan drops so it wasnt ALL Axelshit)

Like, seriously, we've got so much shit to choose from between cartoons, PoP, comics, sketchbook and story books, there's no reason they can't give us a little more variety.

There is only so little Axel stuff left. We gotta get some other stuff soon. I hope we get more variety too.

>There is only so little Axel stuff left

Problem with that is that he's always making up new shit, so there's never gonna be an "end" until Origins dies.
It's not just "unproduced stuff he made up in Classics"
Since Origins began he made up Stingor, the purple cyclops, an evil cosmic enforcer guy, a second Horde scorpion guy, the chameleon man, and most recently the purple dragon guy on GBWs boxart. Even if we got to the end of those + the unproduced classics figures, he'd just make up flurry of new ones in the interrim. I think there was a Horde ice guy too, but that wasn't on an official Origins release, I think it was one of those European con exclusive weapons packs like the Repulsive Reptile set or something
>>
>>11705845
And unfortunately there's two OCs I've seen that I'd actually buy if Mattel made them, but the chances of one of them happening are pretty slim, too.
>>
>>11705866
Which two? You got me curious now

Cartoon Collection has given us basically everything we need for the witch
>Basic bitch body
>Marlena's blouse
>Weaver's sleeves
>She-Ra 's skirt

We just need the head and the accessories (broom and amulet)
Boots optionally if you want full artwork accuracy, but that's a detail I wouldn't care if they fudged with a pair of existing lady boots

No! She needs new boots so they have less excuse to not make Adora.

I wonder if they're holding off from an SPOP cartoon collection in anticipation of the Amazon show
>>
I recognize it is old hat now and nobody cares but part of me is still bummed out by how shortlived and mismanaged the TF crossover was. Making those edits left me yearning for alot of those figures to be a reality.
>>
>>11706117
there's supposed to still be a transformer crossover from hasbro. Eventually.
>>
>>11706119
I know, but those will be actually transformable. I was honestly into the idea of the TF cast being reimagined as 5.5. barbarian guys. I own Bee at Arms and I cant put him down. He's so cool in his own right. Just leave the battle mask on and he's basically his own man.

If he (presumably) and Sharella weren't locked behind the paywall, they're generic enough to make ideal crowd builder villagers.
Three or four of each of them plus an Eldor to be the village elder and they could be He-Man's tribe
>>
>>11706373
Spoken like a true /motu/ veteran.

I do not understand their thinking. They didn't make these characters in the 80s because they were lame. So now they want to bring them back...makes no sense. Especially when you consider they have skipped Adora.

1) Nostalgia fuels them. Look at people wanting He-Man with brown hair and Zodac shirt
2) Looking at concept art, rejected ideas of yesterday are better than approved idea of today
3) They didn't skipped on Power of Grayskull they cancelled whole MOTU and replaced it with space He-Man. In hindsight, they made mistakes.
4) Model on what gets released and what doesn't changed. Back in a day they wouldn't thing how to sell 5 different Teelas, Trap Jaws and Mer-Man, especially without unique action feature on each.

>This new line of 5.5 inch action figures is designed as a more kid-friendly alternative to the adult “Chronicles” line. The initial Masters of the Universe “Core Kids Assortment” will include He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Beast Man, and Skel-Knight figures (early reports called it “Skelegoon”).
