Digital Pets, V-Pets, Electronic PetsQott: What’s your most expensive device?
>>11697901Poke Nate?
>>11697819>QottIt’s probably my white digimon x, which is really sad because it used to be one of my cheapest, going out of print really spiked the price.
Does anybody have Mochimaruz from Sega? Came across it on eBay, but couldn't find any good reviews on it.
>>11698286They have quality control issues, the rubber buttons tend to come off and they control everything. It also resets your progress when you change the batteries
Ae there any Digimon cases that arent overpriced like the Zenin ones?
>>11698437If you are in japan there are bandais new official ones but it’s probably the same price to import it if you aren’t. There are also very ugly looking ones on etsy.
>Purple, Pink, Blue have Asia theme planet decos>Jade arrives>Jade has ice theme planet decosWhich field will be replaced by ice?
>>11698546>there are bandais new official onesl-link?
No fucking way, are these still a thing?! Man, I remember having these as a kid in the 90s, clicking the digimon together to fight, they were incredible. I had this one that was shaped like a dog, it was white with brown spots iirc, I adored it.
>>11698619I misremembered, it was this one. Holy fuck the nostalgia.
>>11698286The cheeks and nose are made of painted foam that starts to crumble over time
Possible Pompompurin nano?
>>11697819Thanks for making a new thread, OP.My most expensive vpet has to be one of these. I spent the most on the Uratama, but the value of some of these Digimon has gone absolutely wild since I first bought them.
>>11698891Pen 20th is a great one, not to wish that it gets devalued, but I do hope for a color version down the line cause of all the upgrades. But Bandai would definitely rather sell everything piecemeal for more profit. I'd love if they'd remake the pendulum X so bad, I love the sleek card shell design.
Tamagotchi V6 Music Stars. Expensive as fuck nowadays
>>11698619Yeah they are still around, we got English release digimons again not that long ago but they are out of print again so the price has been rising
>>11698763Feel like the first shell is too similar that one egg one, might just be a edit
>>11698891Red X1 is so beautiful
>>11698916The only real exciting thing about the Pen20 is how you can hack it to have all the eggs from all the versions,Which would definitely not transfer over if they made a Pen20CFor gameplay, its really not any better than PenOGs and I almost never reach for it when I want to run a Pendulum.
>>11699028And how about the pen colors?
>>11699189I just can’t bone down on the pendulum (or regular) colours because of the tiny rosters of monsters we’ve seen a gorillion times. Also to my mind, the colour screens are an almost strict downgrade from the charming, like, 16x24 pixel screens of the classic monochrome LCDs
Pen Z is the best
>>11698891Look at this billionaire flaunting his wealth
>>11699366I just happened to be in on the ground floor. But they’ve ballooned in price over the last 5 years or whatever. They’re also all opened and played with, to be clear, I just store them back in the packaging when they’re not in use.
>>11699379Lucky, I just cant justify getting an X3 at today's prices
>>11697819>What’s your most expensive device?Probably my navy Digimon X2 right now. Missed the initial release but managed to get it at nearly triple the original MSRP, but that was a steal compared to how it is currently. It's crazy to see something that was readily available three years ago going for as much as a Japanese OG device.
>>11699928I got the purple and silver with the wrong roster at MSRP. I was so lucky
>>11698951Do people play with them or is it just a collector thing?
>>11699189I'm happy enough with them, especially the two new ones. They (like all moderns) are much faster than the classics, but they have a lot of cool quality of life changes, and eliminated much of the classic buggy tomfoolery.I'd say grab one or two of you can afford em.
>>11700176People play with them all, there are japanese releases in color now too but you obviously have to import and there are limited amounts of them, gets very expensive. You can still find some Digimon 20ths for 20 bucks on ebay or other resell sites which is MSRP. 20ths have a very large roster including the original one that you would have played as a kid.
>>11700420What i mean by that is the 20th includes the version 1 roster which was the one we got in america and the versions 2-5 which were released in japan
>>11700117>with the wrong roster What’s the story with this? Some number of devices were released with the opposite device’s monsters?
>>11697819Ive always wanted one of the slime ones, how is it? Also does anyone have that manaphy one?
>>11700459So the Digimon X version 2s (also called XC/XD) had their rosters swapped from what was supposed to be on them and from what was shown on the packaging, they did a massive recall and refunded people money and then when they brought them back they actually didn’t fix the rosters and instead found it easier just to change the mons advertised on the box. They also never brought back the red and purple shells besides in europe or some shit?
>>11700537That's more or less it,And it's theorized that because of this fiasco is why we didn't get the X3s in the west.Biggest regret of my collection was getting in when the penz were dropping just after the X3s got expensive
>>11700950I remember when the X3 was 90 and thinking that was some shit. The price now genuinely makes me feel ill
>>11701022Same, hell I remember seeing em for $60/70!I'd Snap that shit now.
>>11701034We live in a world where if Bandai didn’t fuck up we could have gotten them for 20 and now instead we begging for one to be listed under 300
>>11698587I've heard rumours at my tama club that Bandai is making a frozen ocean version next
my godzilla is finally being shipped
>>11700524I bought the manaphy egg ages ago (~2011) for relatively cheap. Its a fun device but doesn't ask much from you, very little in the ways of careIt used to be my most expensive device after it ballooned, but I guess that goes to my gold X2 digivice now. I think it was like $22 off amazon three years ago, now I wish I bought moreI recently got the zinogre color crossover device because I love monster hunter. The sprites are really nice, but I wish it was a bit more robust in terms of content
>>11703962i have the other monhun one and never opened it
>>11703534Did you order from Zenin? I placed my first order with them at the beginning of January, still waiting on my Chinese/Japanese Digimon pair. Messaged them like two weeks after placing the order asking why I hadn’t seen any updates, and when they finally wrote back, they basically said, “oh, shipping estimates don’t account for warehouse time, thanks for being patient” or some shit. Apparently massive delays in actually shipping your shit are typical for Zenin?
2 weeks ago I ordered a pendulum color (wind guardians) from AliExpress, it arrived yesterday (the estimated time was at the end of March) and I still can't believe it's actually real.
>>11703962I didn't realize the English X2s got to be so pricey. I got them for MSRP back in the day but now I see my Purple XC that is technically swapped goes for like $300 now. Holy shit.
>>11704735Yeah i got the 2nd shell colors for both X2s for like 11 bucks each in 2024? The price spiked like crazy over just two years
>>11704394I placed my order like October of last year. Yeah zenin ships pretty late and idk if people even recommend them anymore with the tariffs and shit
>>11704851Mercifully I’m not American, so I don’t have to worry about most tariffs. But what’s the deal with Zenin? Why do these orders take so long? Do they just not actually have the items on hand and then source them after an order’s placed? I don’t get it.
>>11704943>Why do these orders take so long? They're pinoys.
>>11704943Its gotten worse since badai started kind of fucking the 3rd party shops they supply by sending them their stock late on purpose
>>11697819Probably my tamagochi P's (I have a sweets deco piece as well). I bought it back when it released. Crazy to see the prices they go for now.I also have an unopened Music Start still in its blister. I see these listed for crazy prices, but have no clue if anyone actually buys them at that markup. I'd be willing to sell it if I knew how much I should be charging without getting ripped off (or ripping someone else off).
>>11697819What's the best virtual pet device in current year? And I mean in all aspects like content, display, updates and pets themselves
>>11706746Unironically the Chinese v-pets often called Tamagezi. You can order them for pretty cheap off of Aliexpress. It has an almost slow life/farm sim gameplay loop where you sell crops to collect money. Eventually that money can be invested into passive income streams, or spent on other things like food and cars. Your tamagezi has an education level, and gets better jobs in adulthood based off how much education they received as a child. There's a lot of content on this small device, and it manages to not be disjointed. It's satisfying raising this creature. English translation is hilariously bad at times, but it gets the point across. Maybe the uni has more content, but in terms of an offline device there is a lot to do in this little thing. You can even gamble away all your hard-earned money on it kek
>>11706792The thought of my tamagotchi having a spiral staircase and some kind of grind or side hustle is very distressing to me
>>11706825It's definitely very busy, but it tends to be in short bursts. You can even clean the house in the thing, for extra distress. There's a few house interiors you can buy, the spiral staircase being the most expensive. Eventually, the tamagezi becomes an adult and must get married on top of having a job. I haven't got that far yet, but they have to go on dates first before finding someone suitable for marriage. Once married, they will have an offspring before "leaving." The child will inherit the wealth of the parents, including passive income streams, etc. The manual says it can live for 255 days, and I have only had it for about 17.I have another, similar, tamagezi device made by what seems like a different brand. I haven't put batteries in it yet, bet it seems similar to the current one I'm running. The contrast between this tamagezi and my tamagotchi paradise is hilarious. The gotchi lounges around idylly on the planet, maybe hauling a cart to catch eggs once a day. While the other toils endlessly from 7 am to 11 pm. I do give the tamagezi breaks from work and school often, and try to give it weekends off. Unfortunately the school teacher chastises you for not attending school if you miss it, even on weekends.
>>11706792>>11706845Sounds interesting but I'm not buying chink shit.
>>11706845I just kind of prefer my pets to be little monsters rather than odd people with jobs and mortgages and wives and shit. The paradise is solid in that regard, though I wish there was a bit more to do (or more ways to interact with or let down the tamagotchi).
>>11706860Have you looked at the back of a tama recently? They're all made in china
I like the paradise line but my only problem i have with it is the death timer. I wish they made it that i can make them a star the moment they turn 30 instead of waiting them to starve to death.
>>11707763That's gotta be the worst part about the Paradise. Having to starve it to death to make a tama star. I guess Bandai's idea behind it was for it to be more of a "happy accident" if you get a good star.
Is the Uni any good? It looks like it has a lot of fun features
>>11707914>>11707763The star mechanic seems terribly thought through in general. Who wants to keep the same guy for a month straight? And then there’s no way of just incidentally accumulating care mistakes or something, you actually have to starve it to death? Who thought this was a good idea?
>>11708004Why would you keep it instead of releasing it into the field?
>>11708146To get a tama star, of course
>>11708146I keep mine for weeks at a time before I feel like dealing with a new baby's shit.
>>11706792>>11706845Thank you, sounds like a lot of fun
>>11708146I wouldn’t myself, but apparently that’s the only way to get stars. Not entirely sure what the benefit of stars is though
>>11708281To remind you of your failure.
>>11706746Genuinely don’t think there is a great vpet still in print. You can still find Digimon 20ths for cheap though
>>11708003if you liked customizing igloos in club penguin then go for it but if you like raising pets i would say it’s on the weaker side
>>11710105Seconding the Digimon 20th. Also, if you lean more toward classic pets like I do, the 2024 Connection is solid. Expansive roster of guys, items to collect, decently intractable. And it’s got a few key soulful features: it’s always on, your little dude will occasionally play with items on its own — it’s currently snowing on my device, and because it’s February, I’ve consistently got chocolate hearts in the shop. Does a lot of things very well for such a simple device
>>11710168Sorry, that’s interact-able not intractable lol
Oh hell yeah. It only took a month and a half, but Zenin has finally shipped my Chinese/Japanese Digimon.
>>11710184I guess when you get right down to it, all Digimon are Chinese/Japanese
>>11707914>>11708004It's a way to "save" your favorite tamas since the breeding RNG makes it unlikely to get the exact same one again.
>>11710105There's both the Digital Monster X and Digimon Pendulum series which are great. The only thing that sucks is that it's kinda pricey.
>>11704735I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed it. I'm gonna have to buy the Japanese versions cuz the screw holes of my DMX2 English copy is broken atp
>>11697819>Qott: What’s your most expensive device? One of my Digimon Color. I have two more on the way.
>>11712055Noticed you have the Gigapets Cryptids vpet, Is it worth purchasing?
Any new non tama and digimon release ?I know last year there was the yummy shake house from korea, a new sanrio pocket rooms plus other gurarshi and pokemon vpet from takara,Is there anytimhing new coming, I feel like takara went full phone with their new device.
>>11697819Not the most expensive but look at my bug!
meatboy lookin guy
>>11714174Hell yeah dude. I should pick one of these up. How does it play? Is it sort of like the Angel?
>>11714380Wanna say better than the angel in that i like the Tamas better. Bugs are better than fat wing babies. As for game play, you're gonna be looking at a worm for most of the game play and the bug part of the tama will feel shorter. You feed, and then a random encounter might try and step or eat your bug. Still worth it if you can. Just find a shell you like the most.
>>11713835Another new Godzilla vpet is happening and this time it will be a pendulum, probably will be shown at Digimon con
>>11713835>>557557267
>>11714794What am I looking at up ‘ere? Is this just a 20th with a fancy coat of paint?
>>11714905Correct
>>11714905Yes. However it's the first wave apparently so maybe we'll get other devices too, I'm not holding my breath but one can hope.
>>11714905Exactly that, yep. Related to Digimon, model kits of some Child/Rookie levels are coming (pricier than I'd expect at 1650 each) and also a FRS-A Magnagarurumon that combines with KaiserGreymon to form Susanoomon. With how the parts connect, it seems like it might be possible to use the extra parts to make a whole other character (assuming you don't want to make the giant gun).
Well, I figured out where to buy Digimon cases no thanks to you nigerians.
>>11715448I’m Somali thank you very much
>>11714794>>11714920>More Ver.20ths ahead of the 10th anniversary>Don't even have the decency to repackage the Ver.Revival>The prints outside of Agumon are randomI mean, I get it, but at the same time I don't get it at all.>>11714922As excited as I am for MagnaGarurumon, and as cool as it is that it comes with so many extra parts, I really wish it looked better. Hope it does well enough to warrant further combining kits like OmegaShoutmon and ZeekGreymon though.>>11715448I don't think a lot of people knew either. Be a sport and share?
>>11714794We will have to buy these and the wave 2s and then X wave1s and rhen the X2 wave 1s if we want the X3! Surely they will all sell well and they won’t just cancel the line after the first wave of X devices because people get burn out again!
>>11715501They canceled the X line because of how bad they fucked up the devices. It wasnt burn out. Tamagotchi still released new case designs every few months that only ever have ver.1 and ver. 2 on them.Coincidentally, this is why we will never get anything other than dm20's from now on, because of how well tamagotchis do.
How much are the more expensive Digimon? I don't know anything about them but the most expensive Tama I have is the On.
>>11715508They stopped releasing 20th shells because of burn out, they announced more special ones were coming back around 2021 or 2022 and didn’t because the other specials weren’t selling as much as they had hoped, also it wasn’t just their fuck up, its known the X2s in general didn’t sell nearly as much as the X1s since most people were just holding out for the X3 since its widely considered as the best roster of the devices
>>11715567There are 500 dollar digimon vpets
>>11714794>>11714920I don’t even like the ver20th and I just spent the last half a year+ completing one (minus the eggs that require connections), so this is literally the last thing I want to see get announced. I’ll still buy the fuck out of it though if it raises the chances that we’ll get something actually good that I don’t have to pay an arm and a leg to import.
>>11715641Personally love the 20th and i don’t have a version B so im definitely buying, will probably get a version A at a later date even though i already own one. Hopefully this and the second wave sells well enough for them to try it with the X devices or even the Pendulum 20s
>>11715485>I don't think a lot of people knew either. Be a sport and share?https://ja.aliexpress.com/item/1005010627734485.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.order_detail_item.3.15fcf19cVBZF0M&gatewayAdapt=glo2jpn4itemAdapt
Did anyone here ever get the Detective Conan Tamagotchi? I passed up on it when it was first shown and idk why but it popped back up in my head again. Are the Color Nanos in general good or just overpriced and still barebones?
>>11714794Shells look pretty good, kind of a shame that it's just the 20th again but I'll still cop them cuz if they don't sell we probably won't get new onesUS X3s when?US colors when?US pendulums when?
>>11713538I haven't had the chance to play it. I had intended to play it in October, but some personal stuff came up and I just haven't had the patience for vpets lately. It looks like it has a whole lot of mini-games though.
>>11717051Never. Being a Digimon fan is to suffer
>>11715641>>11715697I really hate having to double (triple) dip just for the sake of possibly getting something cooler down the line, but I can't deny that digital camo looks pretty cool.As an aside, this is the first time an English release has been allowed to have non-matching cage and button colors, isn't it?>>11716044Bless you, anon.
>>11715584X2 also had the massive recall. I wish they'd just make Pendulum 20s in English.
>Zenin order finally set to be delivered today>as usual, my country’s shitty postal service doesn’t even attempt to deliver it>have to wait until Monday to pick up my order from the post officeI hate my country’s shitty postal service.
>>11718046pen 20 would be great
>>11718195When are the American preorder?
Is this shit really just the first OG generation? They didn't even port over the v20 roster for it?Are they fucking high?
This has been my first Tamagotchi (had a lot of Digital Monsters in the past). Fun and I like how interactive it is, but I do kind of wish they were ugly little pixel guys instead of so hi def haha. Going to wait until I fully level up my planet and then look up how these guys work under the hood for tamas I want.
>>11719513No, it's a repackaged Ver.20th, so they're only partially high.
>>11719513The 20ths were called originals when released in the west, it’s the 20ths but not the 20th revival
So japan are getting the new 20th shells in may but we aren’t getting them till October, the fuck?
>>11719751>>11719782Interesting. I wonder what New Wave 1 means then. I assume just the shell but God how nice would it be if we got a V20 with a second similarly sized roster
I hope the jungle one replaces land and has a dinosaurs theme
>>11719790Outside of differentiating it from the previous 5 waves? That they intend to release more. And yes, it's just a new shell so far, but I do kind of hope all this is in preparation for something bigger. It'll be the 30th anniversary next year, as well as the 10th anniversary of the Ver.20th (can't believe it's been that long already), so there's no better time to do it.
>>11719790“New wave 1” just means the other versions the C,D, and E are going to come later in wave 2. Not really anything crazy
Either give me pen20 or just kill me already
>>11720351Just give me any device with terriermon on it in English for the love of god
pre orders doko?
It took two months, but it seems Zenin is in fact a reputable company that makes good on its orders. My glorious Nippon and auspicious Middle Kingdom devices are here at last.
>>11721471I’ve only used Zenin and, per the above post, it took ages after the actual release for the items to ship. So if speed is a priority, maybe eBay is the way to go
The case came in and it's quite nice. It does have a Chinesey aspect to it that I can't really explain in detail. However, it does solve the annoying thing about the Colors and their recessed buttons with the button extenders it comes with. The top also is always pushing down on the pins but I'm going to try and carve out a little indent with a drill to fix that.
>>11721753Oh, I forgot to mention. The clear plastic isn't the best and it makes the screen look weirdly hazy but it's not awful.
>>11721753I found the DM case a bit too tight to use for shells that have artwork, I've gotten some edges scratched because of it. Their Pendulum shells are fine. Perfect even.
>>11721852Could you link? I cant find them.
>>11721873https://www.zenintcg.com/products/digimon-zenintcg-premium-pendulum-case-pre-order-april-may-26They're currently waiting for another batch since they sold out on their second wave.
>>11721875Oh, the Zenin one. I was reviewing this cheapo case I found on Ali Express >>11716044. I think the Zenin cases are way overpriced.
>>11719575Paradise is fun one as an intro
>>11722041Having to abuse these guys for care mistakes to get specific tamas/mons you want remains one of the biggest issues
>>11722095It's pretty messed up. I even signed the pledge in the manual >I pledge to take the best care of the Tamagotchi worldand I literally have purposefully neglect them to unlock them all. A little bit misreable l
bro there is no way that i paid zenin an extra 35 to get my fucking package from months ago because of tariffs and right before it gets sent out new tariffs are in place and i may have to give another fucking 15 on top of it. brother..if they just sent my fucking package 2 weeks ago when i paid man i wouldn’t have to deal with this
>>11722127I dont know why people keep buying from zenin.
>>11722129i ordered it like early last year, i wouldn’t buy from them middle last year onward. im just getting fucked constantly from suspensions of orders and them wanting more money cause tariffs. i wanted this to be the last vpet i imported but i cant even get it kek
>>11722095>>11722100i headcanon it as training so they dont turn into goysoomer normiesloptamas. killing off 30+ is a ritual to deify a guardian like odintchi.
>>11722146Hmm, that begins to make sense. That kinda plays into my headcanon that the tamagotchi planet is brand new, so the tamas are very primitive and simple on this new planet. They are essentially tamagotchi cavemen on the paradise.Tribal sacrifice fits right into that narrative.
In the pendulum colors, if a digimon fails to evolve do they die? I'm asking because it's been days and Kiwimon is not evolving.
>>11722127For what it's worth, I just went through the same deal using FromJapan, minus the delays. If I had known extra tariffs would be added the very week the Xros Wars Ver.15th dropped, I probably wouldn't have bought it.
>>11722777ive gotta get married to a japanese girl or something man my wallet is in tears
It would have been cool if Paradise tamas released into the field went into the breeding pool. You could always get a vanilla one from a fresh egg.
The challenge of the Godzilla 70th makes it so much more fun. Tried going back to the Connection and it just isnt as interesting. Never going to touch the Paradise again. Hopefully Digimon keeps this trend and the Godzilla Pend is also challenging. I unironically think the 70th is the best vpet.
>>11724280Still waiting on mine but if it has actual challenge unlike the other color Digimon devices I could see it being my favorite as well
