Fuck, you are right...

THE JAPANESE GROUP BUILD IS A GO 02/03/2026-08/03/2026
>All subjects welcome so long as the tie to Japan

As an excuse, I have not slept since Sunday.

What is group build? Like, we all try to build the topic at hand?
If so then, this is my zero. I rate it: "just ok".
Canopy is objectively atrocious. I know the reasons why it is like this, I don't need to explain much.
To be continued in other pics.

I think you're supposed to begin something new

Fuck! I only got a arado and a typhon in backlog.

But here, have some more mediocre zero. The Vallejo IJN ash grey is a bit too green though.
>>
>>11698185
Well anon you've got six months to get something tangentially Nipponese put together

how many chi ha's can we expect to see?
>>
>>11698529
Nobody to my knowledge, some people have yet to disclose what they will build, while others are building aircraft or cars. I am sure there will be one, though.
>>
>>11698529
i know, i'll do a type 1 spg, that doesn't count as a chi ha, right?
in all seriousness i wish nip armour was more popular/ common, i know fine molds does them but the only non import ones i can find are both kinds of type 89, and i've already done a t89 go
>>
>>11698529
The only chi-ha that isn't based on the ancient Tamiya one is the dragon one and it has it's own share of issues
The chi-ha is one of those tanks that desperately needs a kit refresh
>>
>>11697872
eduard 1:144 mig 15, very pleasant build so far. think i'll go with the red top alu bottom airshow livery.
>>
>>11698745
>The only chi-ha that isn't based on the ancient Tamiya one is the dragon one
Fine Molds has the most extensive range of Type 97s
>>
>>11698750
>Can't into masking canopies at 1/72.
That is a both impressive and immensely annoying.
>>
>>11698754
the canopy mask was included in the kit, zero chance i could have done that
>>
working on two models at the same time. did all the construction together, the airbrushing together, and now it's the brush work. still have a lot of detail painting, touching up, and chipping/weathering to do before I move on to oils. honestly it's kinda fun doing two kits at the same time. still not sure if I wanna continue on with the blue lenses or just paint over them with black.
>>
>>11698791
also it's my first time trying post shading I think it's kinda sloppy but I like it. I'm going to try the black and white pre shading next time.

>>
>>11698752
I have been looking for one across shops in yurup, I wasn't able to find one that wouldn't had its price tripled by shipping
This kit doesn't exist to me

I'm not sure how real was all the excessive paint-chipping we see from Jap builds.

My guess is it's a misconception stemming from most of the high-quality photos were taken of derelict planes after the surrender, by Americans. I don't know if it's because the Japanese only had potato cameras back then, or because of tight censorship, and restricting photography during the war.

Still, I'm gonna keep making 'em chipped as hell. Artistic license.

The struts look terrible because it's an Italeri kit and I decided to glue them after painting.
