What the actual fuck is wrong with this place lately? Seriously? I keep seeing more and more overly negative, overly dramatic, woe is me, the sky is falling type of posts on this board. It's getting beyond tiresome. I can't go two posts, trying to have an actual discussion about a toy or toy line, without some sissyhypno'd faggot coming in and crying about how toys are bad for your mental health because pre-ordering is hard or how a toyline is bad for the industry or how a particular type of toy is killing collecting or how $3 is too much to spend on a particular toy or how the whole goddamn industry is apparently on the brink of collapse and it has been for like a decade. What is wrong with all of you? Are you all so depressed and apathetic towards life that you need to drag that shit on to a board about toys? Fuck, I just want to discuss action figures without some mentally ill loser trauma dumping his problems on me or schizoing out and obsessing about my background and sperging out whenever I post a toy for two years straight. We're averaging 1133 posts per day according to 4stats.io where we used to be 2-3K. So, where these lunatics used to get drowned out by other discussion, it's now very easy for them to become the dominating voice in a thread, especially when they use multiple devices to samefag. And like you noticed, if you do take a picture and become too recognizable, one or more of these people will make it their mission to stalk and harass you, which discourages people from photographing their toys. Mods seem powerless to stop any of this.Second, prices have gone up quite a bit in just the last few years, even more if you're an American buying Japanese imports and have to deal with tariffs. Makes people a lot more critical about what they're purchasing, especially when QC seems to be going down across the board.Combined, these two factors have turned /toy/ into a fairly miserable place.
I found what helps a lot is posting OC pics or regular and trying to start conversations and threads because there are still normal people here who just want to enjoy a hobby together. Be the change you want to see and ignore and report shitposters is all I can do. Dont feed into the negative loophole because they're crabs in a bucket who just want to drag you down. I also saw a thread like on /co/ with hundreds of replies and talking about 4chan in general so it's not just here.I think some of it is discord raids maybe who knows. Autism evolved beyond just 4chan autism. I mean I know more but mods will ban me if I say who/what....

GI Joe General still has it's petty arguments but now that the AI toy mock up retard was shamed out it's been fine. Revoltech General is hindered by high prices and delays but that won't last forever. I will say that /shf/ and /Figma/ generals are still halfway shit but whenever I post pics in there anons mostly seem positive. Dunno about the other threads, I don't go to them. If a "wah toy collecting is hard" thread pops up I simply ignore it.
