Best Tenchi Muyo figures?

Ryoko Real Doll when?

Masaki Kajishima poisoned the franchise in Japan with his fan-fics that Americans had to rescue the franchise.

>Armiger Entertainment, LLC is focused on revitalizing interest in Japan’s overlooked gems of yesteryear. Whether in the service of a longtime corporate presence looking to reestablish its brand or on behalf of an emerging author with something to prove, Armiger Entertainment is ready, willing, and able to wave the flag for our licensors. We are committed to helping our partners deliver the tales worth telling, the stories that really matter, to readers in multiple languages across oceans and continents.

They've said they'd like to make new Tenchi merch since the western comic Kickstart was a success.

Literally the best you can do is the old 90s McFarlane statues. Sadly this is one of those franchises that got memory holed into oblivion despite it's multiple attempts to come back.

I never knew if I really liked this show or not. I didn't hate it but damn if I can remember any of it.

The show takes a huge nose dive when OVA 3 came out and added more nobody characters and also says that Tenchi can marry all the girls. Unironicly the idea that it devolves into a harem porn ruins this harem franchise. The English dub is also better than the sub, and OVA 3 replaced several voice actors, plus changed characterizations such as Ryoko, who Kajishima said he didn't like.

What an absolute waste. Pioneer was slinging around cash to sell Laser disks and founded some dude's autistic Star Wars fanfic only for him to push away all the talent that made it enjoyable cause it they weren't making it autistic enough.

Just about everything after the tv series and 1st movie was trash. Ova, tv and movie 1 was the best of it. Maybe the first Manga but I haven't read it.

The second tv series and beyond is trash

Daughter of Darkness, Tenchi Forever, Tenchi in Tokyo, Mihoshi's Report, and the Pretty Sammy OVAs are all good. The Hitoshi Okuda manga, the US comic, and some of novels are also good, but the good novels were never released in the US.

Daughter of darkness got both pedoy and incesty

So does all the previous content. Ayeka is Tenchi's aunt and the show repeatedly involves content with Sasami and Washu. Washu can change her physical age, but offers multiple sexual propositions to tenchi in the OVA and tries to rape him until Mihoshi interrupts.

I enjoyed it at the time, but back then there really wasn't anything like it and Harems weren't as ubiquitous as they are today, especially ones with action space fantasy. I enjoyed what I saw, but there's so much of the franchise that's bad or reboots or ignores or reimagines itself it's hard to keep track of everything and what's actually "canon". Still, the good parts are really good and for the most part all the characters are charming and fun so I still have some nostalgia for it as a whole.

Ah the good old days of anime where it was so under the radar most people didn't realize how creepy it got. Renting this stuff from the Blockbuster Cartoon section was always a good time because A) you never knew what you were actually getting and B) you DID know you really shouldn't have been watching it as a kid.

Now that Kusinagi and Samus actually have figures, that's two of my three "90s anime babes" checked off my "U Knoe" list. I guess that means Ryoko can finally move up into that top three rankings...right along side Iria and my still reigning number one want, Alita.

Mayuka’s mental growth from innocence to violent Electra-complex was a fun thing to see in the span of an hour.

Also, incest is rampant in Tenchi Muyo. Let’s not forget that in the Muyo canon Tenchi’s father is a distant descendant of Yosho, making him the distant grand-nephew of Tenchi’s centuries-old mother.

Then there’s the whole ‘sister’ connection of Washu, Tsunami/Sasami, and Tokimi, further muddled by Mihoshi being a descendant of Washu. Tenchi’s family tree is a damn Christmas wreath.

Huh. Did not expect a tenchi thread on /toy/. Shocked SHFA, Nendroid or Revoltech hasn't tackled any of the characters.

I remember I got those out of a grid basket on clearance at toys R us and some chivo figures too.

Every time one of them think about "classic" anime they never follow through. Dirty Pair *almost* got figures based on the original TV series and they became vaporware.

Sadly Tenchi just isn't seen as "influential" in the grand scheme of things and it's constant attempts...and failures...to bring itself back to the main stream doesn't help sell the brand.

Just look how long it took us to get some YuYu Hakusho figures and that damn series pretty much laid the groundwork for modern Shonen series.

>>11705701
Those are so bad they're honestly kinda cute.
>>
>>11705510
For me, it didn't become completely unwatchable until they merged in characters from GXP which I had not seen and had no interest in.
>>
>>11705510
You're spouting some mad bullshit. Both the subs and dubs of the first two OVA series featured top tier talent at the time. Unfortunately the dub script is mangled to hell due to the naughty jokes not carrying over and failure to contextualize key plot points properly.
>>
McFarlane made a great one in terms of likeness. It's just fixed-pose.

>>11705723
It's a good series. It's just something that'll get labelled as "problematic, sexist misogynist everything-ist so it's Hitler now.

>Both the subs and dubs of the first two OVA series featured top tier talent at the time.
The English dub is a rare case where it's better than the original.

>Unfortunately the dub script is mangled to hell due to the naughty jokes not carrying over and failure to contextualize key plot points properly.
That's what makes it good. It's not "altered for context so non-Japanese can understand." It's a straight translation, which is rare as shit.

Oh I know Tenchi isn't seen as influential now. But back in the 90s, they had a Ryoko cut out at the cave that inspired her tomb.

>They changed Sake to 'BAD TEA'
>Sasami opens the onsen doors "IT SMELLS LIKE BAD TEA IN HERE"
