It's surprising how this franchise hasn't died yet considering we just got some random hairy ones that were at Walmarts (if you're lucky) and now there's minis at 5 below for $1 and a new standard series (no idea where the fuck those are sold).
Are these actually being sold at retailers?
Also Target and some 5belows had these wannabe Madballs things.
>>11707131I spotted these a few days ago myself. I might go back to pick up more. I hope they're selling well. When this revival first kicked off there was an announcement of even smaller minis set to release in carded multipacks. Despite not having seen said multipacks I hope they get made. >>11707144I'm surprised these havent gotten more attention. When they showed up at target there was some initial buzz and then radio silence. Either way I'm into them.
According to the walmart site the new blindbags are up for sale
>>11707356$1 is a great deal. Hopefully they'll do more again like with their other IPs (ie Care Bears). I think making them cheaper is a good idea to allow for more accessibility but distribution still needs work. Right now on Amazon you can buy a SINGLE Mad Ball series 1 in the potion bottle for $30 which isn't worth it.
>>11708493My thoughts exactly. I also think Five Below should make a bigger deal about their exclusive toys. They're effectively the closest thing to a modern day toy store, especially with how lackluster nu-TRU has turned out.Distro for this revival's been awful from the onset. Anyline that goes direct to walmart usually has a rocky time branching out.
>>11708536True 5below has a nice handful of exclusive toys and they're like alright quality and their stuff is better than the $1.50+ crap at the dollar tree surprisingly. The fact they still have a $1 section is a miracle.Fingers crossed MadBalls has improved distribution/visibility. Those DNA design figures are great and like not TOO pricy, but they drag their feet on releases. I really wanted a Skullface figure. I love my Oculus Orbus though.
>>11708565Honestly there's alot of bang for your buck at five below, especially around christmastime. You just have to check in routinely to see what's come in. Seems like they're getting overstock figures in again considering the number of Jakks and Spinmasters Sonic and DC toys they're stocking now. As for Dollar Tree, Final Faction's early demise was a massive missed opportunity. It was a step in the right direction otherwise. If these new Madballs take off my hope is that we get modern versions of the old Madball action figures. Honestly thinking it over now maybe Playmates would do well with the IP. It was supposed to get an animated series by this point, I wonder what happened.
