It's also confirmed at Toy Fair that these 3 figures shown last year there are cancelled. So yeah, thanks Mattel.
>>
>>11712931
No, they are pretty bad and overpriced, I wish I didn't buy Shredder.. I just come to peace that we will never have good IDW figures at a good price.
>>
>>11712908
Good to see you update more stuff in the OP this time, but you forgot to update about Joytoy Robo Bebop and Rocksteady and Super7 2k3 April news.
Also remove the Mezco stuff. Those preorders are finished.
And the Jinglihung exclusives from Wonderfest(?) are now more widely available.
Probably some NECA stuff can be updated too. I don't know.
Just trying to help you make a better OP, so don't take it personally.

If you think that's true you might have a debilitating mental condition. How sad.

Predictions for how Mattel will handle TMNT? I see them do an approach like with MotU movie with First Ones and Chronicles. DC might be a good idea too.

Maybe we get a TMNT x DC crossover next?

Will the retro figures series continue or is it over now? They had some issues desu but I still enjoyed the ones I bought.
>>
>>11713108
Pixel Dan confirmed everything shown at Toy Fair is all Playmates has left for TMNT. There will be nothing else.
>>
>>11713108
Do we know if Playmates owns the molds or Paramount? Could it be a Star Wars situation? Disney for example owns all Star Wars molds Hasbro/Kenner made because Lucas made the toys deal so if let's say Disney gave the SW license to Mattel or Jazwares they can reissue those old Hasbro/Kenner molds.

Or what if Mattel makes articulated figures in the style of old Playmates Toys? Inspired by them?
>>
>>11713114
There were a few gimmick lines like Turtle Launcherz that were not allowed to be filmed/photographed that are coming this fall but yeah, this is all. The gimmicks can be seen a little in the background.
>>
>>11713108
I picked up 4 packs of some playmates stuff I don't haveat bbts (2k3, movie star, Toony, etc) because this may be it forever.
>>
>>11713116
>no more wholesome little 80s badass boomer goodness kino reissue? :o
>>
>all this crying of Playmates losing the license
It's not only here btw, I see it everywhere. Imagine if Hasbro lost the Star Wars or Marvel licenses, imagine the reactions.

>>11713125
It's possible Mattel will do a bad job tho.
>>
>>11713125
This franchise runs on nostalgia. Mattel didn't pay out the ass for this license to just make Seth Rogen pegwarmers. That's not where the gravy is.
>>
>>11713131
would a new TMNT line based around making every character from the 2003 series sell?
>>
>>11713135
lol, fuck no
>>
>>11713136
>don't know what to tell you buddy but as we see it? nostalgia is what sells and the bread and butter of any toyline
>okay they should make 2003 designs
>NOT LIKE THAT NOOO

so why is neca making Fortnite turtles? the designs look a lot like 2003. how come no one has taken the idea of a Zombie Baxter or dark turtles from there it was great
>>
>>11713108
Unless Mattel sublicenses it to Playmates or works out a deal with them to use the molds, that's gonna be it.
>>11713129
>>11713131
Don't reply to the rat.
>>
>>11713139
Because Fortnite's good, and the Fortnite turltes are good designs. 2003 is bad, and that's why nobody wants it.

No one's asking this question, now that Mattel will have the TMNT license, will this affect Lego? I know Lego is releasing a Brickheadz set in april this year but will they do more? Will Mattel Brick Shop make sets in 2027? I'm personally ok with MBS making sets because Mega did a better job then Lego with the license and if Lego kept making sets they would probably only make 18+ sets for afols that cost an arm and leg.
>>
>>11713192
You don't seem to know anything. Why even post?
>>
>>11713168
This is the thing I'll miss the most. I loved going to the store and picking up reissues.
>>
>>11713189
Vintage toys with new articulation and occasional new figures and crossovers. Then a Cartoon Collection based on the different animated shows.
>>
>>11713203
Active monthly player numbers are in freefall. You don't have to pretend you like a shitty video game that even the player base is quitting en masse just because NECA are making Ninja Turtles toys from it.
>>
>>11713168
Mattel would just make new molds based off the designs of the vintage toys. Whatever Playmates has they've likely already given us. The molds would be degraded and in need of serious repair if they still had all of them. A number of items were obviously of bootleg quality or new sculpts meant to look like the vintage toys.
>>
>>11713189
If it's new then it wouldn't be "origins" like. They should be incredibly close to the og figures, but with updated articulation. It's not that complicated.

They could do that, right? Weren’t the first wave of Super7 Ultimates figures based on the classic Playmates toy designs? I wonder why they stopped doing that.
>>
>>11713263
Correct, and if Mattel wanted they could make a 6 or 7 inch adult line just like Super7, because Playmates can no longer complain. I would suggest anyone who has Ultimates to hold onto them, because Mattel would more than likely do an adult line at a similar scale. I would find it unlikely that Mattel does large vehicles like the Party Wagon at that scale. Although in Origins they did deliberately make some vehicles roomy enough to work with Masterverse.

Man, I hope I find the 2012 re-issues before they end production, new packaging rocks.
>>
>>11713283
Chronicles figures are 6.5 inches and so are K-Pop Demon Hunters and most likely 2027 DC collector figures so I'm 100% sure that's the scale TMNT collector figures will have. I'm more curious and excited for the kids line, I think the Mutant Mayhem era figures were great and Playmates really tried to keep them at an affordable price point so I'm curious how much will prices increase under Mattel since they probably also pay a bigger fee to Paramount because Skydance wants money.
>>
>TMNT Origins relies on vintage Playmates synergy.

Speaking of, Trick or Treat Studio revealed progress on their Toxic Crusaders line. Yvonne was shown unpainted before, and famously got released as an April O'Neil figure in the Turtles line. Now we get to see a more finalized figure. Melvin is the new one, and he comes with snap on armor pieces that turn him into Toxie. Their priority looks to be geared towards making unproductive figures.

That world of TMNT branding seems awesome, too bad it amounts to nothing. Honestly i'm disappointed at Playmates final offerings, not much for me. Some of the crossover sculpts are good but I'm not into crossover figures so there's literally nothing for me to get excited. I'll miss playmates. Don't have much hope for Mattel but I'll judge when we see stuff at next years Toy Fair.>>11713286
>>
>>11713414
I wonder if Mattel will keep the branding.
>>
>>11713416
The World of TMNT branding seems to be franchise-wide, so undoubtedly Paramount is going to want Mattel to use it

There are still tons of characters they could do (like from the Red Sky seasons), but instead we get the turtles in outfits they wore for like, two scenes in one episode tops.
>>
>>11713445
I'm drawing a blank. What are some good characters they haven't done yet? Seems like they've done a buttload.

My dude, this isn't even showing off the whole year. They're good costume variants. Distinct ones. You're being a baby.

>>11713416
They will, Paramount even made a site for it and even Lego uses it. It will be mandated by Paramount. So get used to it, its like when Hasbro created Generations for Transformers and Authentic branding.
>>
>>11713482

I guess I'm just bummed at the lack of Archie. Thats like, my favorite TMNT universe, and theres so, so many good characters to get toys in it.

>>
>>11713421
>>11713485

>>
>>11713511
Its being used for new Mutant Mayhem toys too.
>>
>>11713511

>An all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x G.I. Joe crossover line pairs characters from both franchises in reimagined 4.5-inch figures. The assortment includes Leonardo X Snake Eyes, Donatello X Dial-Tone, Michelangelo X Shipwreck, Raphael X Roadblock, Shredder X Cobra Commander, Krang X Destro, Slash X Storm Shadow, Bebop X Ripper, Rocksteady X Buzzer, and April X Scarlett. The line also features two vehicles, the Turtle-Fly Copter and the A.W.E. Shell-Striker, with products arriving exclusively at Target beginning in August. Figures are priced at $15.99 for ages 4 and up, while vehicles feature spinning blades, missile-firing functions, and figure compatibility.
>>
>>11713091
Going off MOTU as precedent
>playmates/spinmasters-esque budget action figure line with limited articulation (8 to 12 poa)
>6" ML/Masterverse collector oriented line that covers more of the turtles legacy stuff (super mutation, 2003, fast forward, basically anything neca hasnt already gotten to)
>handful of blindbag lines
>as many turtle vans as batmobiles
>a few playsets

As for crossover I expect to see DC × MOTU alongside TMNT × Street Sharks come 2027. Maybe they can do another Turtles/Batman line in 2028 to coninside with the next batman movie.
>>

At the very least Mattel might pull a Sun-Man and have them "guest star" in the TMNT Origins line.
Maybe even have them released alongside similar characters IE Ripster in a wave with Ray Fillet or Armaggon, if Extreme Dinosaurs is used, T-Bone in a wave with a Triceraton.
