Was going to ask in the GI Joe thread since those guys have tons of accessories and weapons but figured the entire board had their own solutions. Tackle box are probably fine for most but when you kitbash or want to make customs, or have a lot of spare BAF sparts and the like, what do you do? This seems like a good deal that would shove in the closet and it's under $7.
>>11714463Ziplok baggies work fine.
>>11714732So a pile of ziplok baggies on the floor of my toy room?
>>11714463I use tackle boxes, I forget the model number it's fairly cheap and modular and stackable. It doesn't work for very large pieces like a baf chest but generally it fits my needs with a few exceptions. Oh, and they store away neatly so you could slide it in a desk drawer or under a chair etc etc
>>11714732What a piece of shit answer. If you have access to a Target, browse their value section. They are usually at the front of the store as you enter. They'll have clear containers of all sorts of sizes. The inventory changes every week so check often.
>>11714463Tackle/organizer boxes are good if you want to keep shit organized, but what's wrong with just having a large box just thrown in with the rest of the figures? Western toys are pretty much indestructible and paint rub is all but impossible. For custom painted stuff, i usually use old gum containers (little drums). Keeps them upright and less likely for paint rub to happen.
>>11714948I assume something you got on Amazon. Target is having a clearance and WM is kinda matching it with rollback prices but it looks like Michael's has better shit, no?Or do you just get actual tackle boxes that fishermen and handymen use? In which I wonder if I should just literally check on the Home Depot and Lowe's sites?>>11714958Yeah, I went to the largest one in my county last night, because they also have GI Joes and other stuff on clearance. They do have a lot of stackable storage with lids on clearance right now, but nothing good for like HEADs and small pieces, without putting them in small baggies (which I did order from Amazon) which are great so the heads don't rub paint on one another, keeping left right hands together, but don't work for anything but small guns. I'm left with riffles and other crap loose still.
I've actually had that struggle for a while, because I want to access some parts quickly for figs I have on my desk and I want to store the rest easily in a stackable way.I ended up getting a few different things, I'll share what and why(note: ESL here, apologies for any odd phrasing)1/3 dewalt tstak containers, especially the large one (1 single tray) or the double ones (pic attached, 2 trays). Single tray is twice the height and holds larger pieces for vehicles, or anything bigger than the smaller accessories
2/3 the dewalt tough cases, which are significantly smaller than the tstak stuff and sadly just not thick enough for larger pieces, but for which the "walls" can be rearranged in many configurations. I use that to store some mythic legions parts, some marvel legends stuff, or generally just things I might want to find more easily but not have on my desk at all times. For desk stuff see pt3
>>11714978Those look good - the container are about the right size for body buck fodder and left-over BAFs. I am using cardboard boxes right now. But all my unused figures are also in those boxes and half my closet in that room is full. I have no idea what I own other than relying on my own memories or trying to search my burner email to see if I already own XYZ toy. For the shit I rarely collect, it's easy, for other stuff, it's a pain. I've ended up rebuying crap which I then have to unload. What are these gum, little drums? - something you are just re-using and re-purposeing? I've been dong that for LEGOs, reusing used snap on clam shells that have the roasted nuts I get to snack on from one particular local grocers bulk aisle. One boxed mech fits in one and that and a few poly bags are pretty much all I collect in bricks. I guess I could use some of those for rifles and machine guns? Can you show me a snap shot of those 'little drums' - and thanks!
3/3 this travel pill organizer by bexeen. I ended up getting a few, because they're just the right size for my 1/12th scale figs. Have a bunch of sentinel parts, lpzz, mafex, etc. The longer part can store a couple guns or blades, the larger square ones are a bit deeper because the box is rounded. The amz code is B08L75X5LZ if that helps. Pictured is one of mine, always on the desk for easy swapping of parts.ESL anon out
