>>11718774Skeletor concept art from the canceled Warner Bros. film Grayskull: Masters of the Universe, which was in development in 2008 for a planned 2010 release. In this version, Keldor’s face was decaying from using the dark half of the Power Sword, so he wore a skull-shaped mask. A twist during the film’s final battle would have revealed that Skeletor’s face was completely decayed due to the sword’s dark magic, and that he had a skull-like face beneath the mask all along. The full script can be read here, pretty epic:torquemod.com/grayskull-the-masters-of-the-universe-justin-marks.pdf
>>11719144Travis Knight actually spoke about this design because he saw the concept art:>"It wasn’t always going to be this way. A Masters Of The Universe reboot has been in the running for years, and previous iterations of the screenplay had Skeletor’s visage as a golden skull mask. “I said, ‘Fuck that shit. Skeletor has a skull face. That’s just the way it is. It’s a living, talking, emoting skull, and that’s that.” https://he-mania.com/2026/02/actor-jared-leto-asked-to-play-skeletor-plus-previous-scripts-had-skeletor-in-a-golden-mask-per-director-travis-knight/

A Fright Fighter set and Battle Cat (similar to old brick built one from years ago) set is also coming. Possibly Power Sword in this style too.
>>11719155All the hype for nothing...
>>11719154Bandai owns them so probably never. Not sure how they showed up in the comic. Maybe they were legally distinct egg shaped rocks that didnt transform idk.
>>11719186I saw someone on a fancy site suggested that maybe they could do a collab with Bandai like the Hasbro thing and do stuff in each others merchandise. They get Meterorbs while Bandai can do Barbie and Battle Cat Tamagachis and shit. Meteorbs would be an”art toy” expensive ass set on Mattel Creations.
>>11718905>>11719087The only sure-things left are Two Bad, the Energy Zoids and the Laser variants. They absolutely can finish this year with that little left The giants aren't proper figures, being oversized, and Mattel only committed to finishing the figures, not included creatures and vehiclesAnd I'm not convinced they won't exclude Blade, Saurod and Gwildor from "vintage completion" and at best do what they did to PoP figures (ie, not remake the vintage toys at all, but where PoP only got figures in a cartoon collection, movie guys might get some attempt at realistic screen accurate toys that won't fit in with regular Origins at all).Hell, most fanboys I see are considering themselves find after Two-Bad and the Lasers. And Mattel has noticeably excluded Blade, Saurod and Gwildor from box teases when every other figure, playset, creature and vehicles got teased. So yeah, I'm not convinced either Mattel or most fans are counting those three as "vintage" even if they are
>>11719155I'm going to kill myself. No one wants a battle cat, havoc staff, or fright fighter model to display. These are toys. They hold very little value beyond that.

>>11719186Maybe it's one of those "toy rights vs entertainment rights" deals?Does Japan have tamagora cartoons or comics? Maybe Bandai has never filed to copyright tamagora likenesses for film or comics so Mattel can skirt the issue because their not infringing on Bandai's rights as long as they're not making toys of the Meteorbs.

>>11719389He looks Mexican.Manuel-at-Arms.
>>11719454funny you say that, since this guy (and all the mega figures) are based off of the Classics figures. That Duncan's face was based off the 200X one and thrown in as an alternate head.
Idk, I'm not feeling stonedar. Rokkon wasn't much for me, it's a rare figure that I messed with a few times before he joined the collection but I haven't touched it since. It really is like he was an idea that was meant to be tossed out but slipped through and made it into production. They should have been a two pack, especially if we can't get any orbs to help fill out their ranks. Idk, maybe I feel like many did about kol darr or more recently geldor. Just kinda like I'll buy it to have it in my collection but I don't truly want it
>>11719769I just don't like rocks. Green rock girl looks kind of cute but I wouldn't buy her either.
I just opened up the old Revelation Masterverse Roboto I've had sitting around. I figured because he didn't have a loincloth that his legs would move better than the average Masterverse, but they have some extra sculpt that actually restricts movement. The figure looks good, is hefty, but the articulation just feels so limited. All this to say that I'm looking forward to Chronicles, I feel like those will give to articulated MOTU figures the dynamism they've been missing. I do wonder what happens when they do start tackling classic looks with the big body armors (since all movie figures so far account for it in the design). Will they accommodate that into the articulation, or stick with the classic add-on armor that basically restricts the entire torso, and will only have movement at the waist ball as a result.
>>11719692I wish movie Man at Arms had asymmetrical armour.
>>11718774Stonedar was one of my only toys growing up I'm definitively picking it up but I'm worried it's just nostalgia lol. I just wish they were big enough to partswap with men.

Apparently, this is the set list for the Masters of the Universe Brick Shop series. All of them are display models and may not include figures, but that is still unknown:>Buildable Havoc Staff display model>Buildable Power Sword display model>Skeletor bust display model>Fright Fighter display model>Roton display model>Small scale Castle Grayskull display model>Small scale Snake Mountain display modelThe last four sets might include mini figures. It is currently unknown whether they do. Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain are way smaller in scale compared to the older sets. I suppose around $100 range is very likely for them.

I don’t care if origins is done. $10 figures at retail is what MotU needs. Let the kids have affordable toys without clogging the shelves. >first ones for kids>chronicles for adults >origins online for boomers
>>11720512That works, but also why is anyone saying Origins is gone from retail? Just because we're seeing a non move Core figure?
>>11720533Doomers and trolls
>>11720533There was a leak saying “first ones” or “core” was replacing origins. Mattel dismissed this and said this new “core” line was just for the movie. Clearly that wasn’t true. It doesn’t seem smart to have 3-4 different lines in the boys toy section especially when origins are 100% aimed at collectors. Mattel just reasserted at toyfair origins is continuing. The only logical conclusion is that it is going online exclusively. All other leaks have been true so far.
>>11720554>All other leaks have been true so far.Chronicles in the original leak was said to be 5.5", so I definitely wouldn't say they're all accurate. Mattel, per Dan's video, did assert that Origins will continue but also that Core was a movie focused and separate line. We obviously don't know the full plans at this time, but there's no reason there couldn't still be Origins style figures at retail, especially considering those have been the focus for collaborations (which are on pause in '26). I'd say it's way to soon to assume anything, just that right now the focus is on the movie with Core and Chronicles. I do hope that we could see collaboration figures outside of the Origins form factor at some point. I was hoping to see Masterverse collab figures, and now I'd like them in Chronicles too, once those come back.

>>11720462what a revolting development...
Origins is still at retail, any of the Macy’s that took on MOTU got fresh pegs of wave 7. Also Cartoon Collection is considered Origins so 200X is at retail as well. They just reprinted the first releases of He-Man and Skeletor. The real Origins they have to keep around to make their pay piggie boomers cough up $10 to buy them from their shit online store although it’s turned into a cry fest of the Masterverse mourners.

>>11720656Wtf is happening. Where are these things coming from. Also I have a great need. Hopefully this fucker glows this time, and we don't have a repeat of Revelation Scare Glow.
>>11720667He does not glow
>>11720583Considering 5.5 is literally a MOTU scale, idk, it's kind of hard to believe that that wasn't intentionally written. >>11720656What's behind the package? Cross sell?
>>11720670No cross sell
>>11720671So, where did this come from? It's kind of looking like an exclusive of some sort, especially with that "Inaugural Edition" and no cross sell and fabric cape. Reminding me of the Scare Glow exclusive from Revelation.
I'm getting cold feet on all of this... $25 is fine for these figures, and I'm excited for the movie, but I don't want them. I want origins. Their super simplistic sculpt and articulation is what got me.The $10 guys are fine, but no ankles kills it for me. Do they really expect us to get on to ANOTHER new scale and re-buy all these dudes again too?
>>11720656That one... is actually kinda cool
>>11720683>Do they really expect usNO they expect us to buy these for kids in our lives
>>11720683For Chronicles, yes, that's the intent. For Origins, no, the Core figures aren't meant to replace them, just be a starting point for new collectors or kids or people that want the movie figures but don't want to spend that $25. It doesn't look like there will be Origins movie figures yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually show up, assuming they do well in these other lines. For me I appreciated the 5.5" figures for what they are, but I've gotten to the point in my MOTU collecting that I want something with a bit of newness to it, along with superior articulation. Masterverse was unfortunately just barely better because of the limitations built in, but Chronicles is looking like it'll be the line for me.
>>11720670Considering chronicles is 6.5 it’s a simple fuck up. Take note that Mattel wanted that leak taken down.
Wait a minute, wtf is this height? Or maybe Scare Glow is supposed to be an extra large character in their eyes? Feels like MOTU figures don't generally play with variable sizes enough.
>>11720698Apparently it's 7"+?? >>11720701
>>11720701He’s just a larger figure. Rest of the chronicle figures are slightly larger than a marvel legends figure. Teela as an example is probably the exact size of a legends.
>>11720709I'd expect it for Beast Man or Clawful, not necessarily for Scare Glow. But that's fine if he's larger (though this would be quite significantly taller than a 6.5" figure, considering MV Scare Glow already towers quite a bit). I likewise wouldn't mind a slightly larger than average He-Man, and then the regular Eternian Masters a bit shorter than he is, kind of like the Mondo scaling right now (though Skeletor should be shorter). I'm surprised no one brought a Masterverse or other figure to compare directly with the Chronicles figures. Someone brought a WWE Main Event to compare with the DC figures, too mad they didn't bring that to the Chronicles section too.
>>11720666Checked
>>11720671So do you guys consider him Skeletor's ghost or the henchmen ghost of Skeletor?
>>11720712According to robodontknow someone put a legends figure next to the dc stuff and he said it scaled perfectly
>>11720714I consider him scareglow an entirely different character
Do any of the new lines have partswapping still? If it goes away I'll be sad.
>>11720656>>11720659>>11720666Is Scareglow actually in the movie or did they just want to scare kids?
>>11720715That's fine and dandy, but I want to know how tall Chronicles figures are. >>11720714Separate character, and I prefer him unaffiliated with Skeletor. Stronger than the average Evil Warrior or Master, but not as powerful as He-Man or Skeletor. The ghost of Skeletor thing could be a fun idea to play with if you want to bring in some time travel shenanigans, or maybe ghost like a shadow, as in the person that's always with Skeletor (if he was a henchman).
>>11720718First ones heman and skeletors armors are removable so I imagine the skelegoons too. Chronicles armor and bracers are removable. You can see all of this on pixel dans hands on videos.
>>11720722>did they just want to scare kidsYes, this. But also that Inaugural Edition kind of makes this feel like it isn't related to the movie at all, along with all the art on it. If the pictures weren't so consistent I'd have almost cried AI, honestly. Far as I'm aware no one has yet said where this came from.
>>11720672Some guy had his MV figure break out of the box. Mattel asked if wanted a refund or replacement, he went with replacement. They didn’t have his exact fig so they told him they would send him a new Chronicles one which he was cool with since he was getting them. They sent him this.
>>11720724>That's fine and dandy, but I want to know how tall Chronicles figures are.SIX POINT FIVE INCHES
>>11720728There's no way... These were supposed to be available in April I think it was, and that's the movie wave. Unless this is specifically a random Creations exclusive drop or something, why would they randomly have some as of yet not even revealed figure handy to give as a replacement?
>>11720728Cool where’s the barcode
>>11720729Yes, and so are Mattel WWE figures and yet some of those push 7", etc, doesn't mean I don't want to see exactly how they scale next to each other. Unless this is some fucked up perspective, >>11720701 does this look like 6.5" to you?

>>11720745I was more thinking the movie figures at Toy Fair, but obviously talking about the scale of those isn't very helpful right now (especially with all the debate on their size a few threads ago which was getting pretty silly). From that previous pic Scare Glow looked a significantly bit bulkier, so it's interesting to hear him say he seems more slender.

>>11720794You think they haven't changed the articulation on Masterverse figures during the run? All of the later ones have drop down hips when none of the early ones did. I'm sure you think it's also just a coincidence that the card art is clearly animation inspired.
>>11720797lol
>>11720797The articulation style matched with Chronicles, which is vastly different than Masterverse's. Also looking at some old size comparisons of that old SG, he actually seems to be a bit shorter than 7".
>>11720800Stop. He’s clearly not listening to anyone but the voices in his head.
>>11720800So why does it have a bio that mashes up various sources and card art that is toon inspired? Just like every single other Masterverse New Eternia figure. And no cross sell of other movie Chronicles figures like pic related?Like I said, they already updated the articulation for Masterverse figures once during the run. My money is that this was developed to be a Masterverse figure simultaneously with the movie figures which is why they standardized the articulation, but they have decided to put it under the Chronicles SKU instead of having retailers refuse to buy an old SKU that wasn't selling as well. Watch as every other "New Eternia" style Chronicles figure comes out at 7" instead of being the same size as the movie figures.
>>11720807You are so fucking stupid holy shit
>>11720671In that leaping shot, it's too bad they can't get a wire in these capes. For caped characters, I'd be willing to take fewer accessories for a wired cape (not that SG here has any aside from 2 hands and his halberd, so I guess that wouldn't apply).
>>11720830I wonder if a wired cape is against safety standards for kids figures meaning that if they want to have a wire they’d need to be out of boys toys and in a collector section.
>>11720832Are McFarlane figures not sold in the same section? They are where I am. And also King Grayskull had a wired cape and he was sold alongside the rest of the line. I'd think it'd simply be that it's potentially expensive, especially if the factory doesn't do it and they'd need to get them from elsewhere. I don't know if this is an issue for the big companies, but a lot of the smaller companies often have to have a factory manufacture the soft goods then ship it to another factory that manufactured the figures to finally put them all together.
>>11720835They were moved to collectors in Walmart as a whole. Target has the collectors editions in the collectors corner while regular multiverse figures are in boys still. Todd has stopped putting wires in anything that isn’t collectors edition.

>>11720671What if he's going to be a future MCC figure?
>>11720880That seems the most likely to me based on the presentation here. Very weird case, and definitely a mistake, either way.

Either way this works for me because now I can order Blast and Stonedar on Tuesday together
>>11720895>>11720880Oh also there's a listing for this in Walmart's inventory, so maybe not an MCC exclusive. Also if it was I think it'd have some fancier packaging, a wired cape, etc. Is it a dream to hope that wired capes become standard? For MOTU and eventually DC too.

>>11721017I flip flop. I'd usually rather a wired cape, I would sometimes rather these dinky things, and other times I'd want a regular plastic cape. For the Chronicles Skeletor, it looks really stiff, so I'd probably rather fabric, but we'll see how the material turns out. >>11720753 shows him doing this cape blasting thing that he also did in Revelation, a plastic cape sculpted like this would have been cool and unique.
It is amazing people online can’t accept that scare glow is just a bigger buck in the 6.5 inch chronicle line. Holy shit the cope.
>>11721084You can't blame them. You're acting like there's a precedent for Scare Glow to be bigger than any other character but there isn't. That on top of the fact that we haven't seen any non Movie character in this line until now, and the one shown happens to seemingly be bigger than expected. It's new territory right now with this line, so questions about scale aren't odd at all.
>>11721043I ideally prefer them including both, they each do different things great, but obviously I realize that's an insane ask, so If I had to choose I would go with cloth cape with a wire, as long as it looks good. All the Mattel ones so far have looked really flat tho, not a fan.

He's got similar sinewy and muscle-y detail that the movie Skeletor has, along with those outer bones sculpted on the body. If we can expect this kind of detail on these Chronicles figures it's going to be a really exciting line.
>>11721136So good. A wash on the body bones would have been extra nice, but what can you do. Maybe I'll do it when I get this guy. Really want to give the figures in this line a try.

>>11721201Don't be so sure about that. But also these are smaller and more articulated, while the Mighty looks more like the vintage sculpts. I'd say both are cool, but of course anon like you always have to shit on one thing in order to praise another.
>>11720701I may buy Scareglow to go with my Masterverse collection
>>11721128My momma also always said it's not the bones on the inside that counts it's the bones on the outside.
Even I feel they should just finish the original line in Origins out of respect, I'm sure collectors would buy it all. And I don't even collect Origins anymore--I have select casual friendly figures like He-Man, Skeletor, Sorceress and Hordak. They're so close it doesn't make sense to not complete it.
>>11721207>>11721206And it’s all trash.
>>11721228Yo mama's a wise woman. >>11721232I'm sure they'll finish the vintage line, it's just a matter of a time.
>>11721232>>11721243Depending on who you ask, vintage is done after just Two Bad and the Lasers I've seen folks not count the giants because too big, they're creatures not proper figures; folks who don't count the Zoids because they're gimmicky toys like meteorbs; and people who don't count Blade, Gwildor and Saurod because, I dunno, they still have a hateboner for the Dolph movie or some shit
>>11721313I appreciate you
>>11721313Does Blast Attack disassemble the same way all regular Origins do or is it limited like Armor He-man with the flip chest battle damage feature?
>>11721287They all must be made.
>>11721328BasicallyHead, arms and boots are removable. No ability to swap at waist though, obviously, given the action feature and torso construction
>>11721313Good one, got a chuckle out of me.>>11721287It's straight up personal cope that they don't feel like they fit with the rest of the line, which means you could kick out Orko on the same logic.Arguing that being movie-original makes them exclusive also doesn't work - Adam, Randor, Orko, Trooper and Sorceress all only got made thanks to Filmation.
In my dream world they'd do all of NA in origins next.
>>11721340Well, in my dream world they'd do SA in origins next. Wheres my gang rape scene teela figure featuring rip apart clothes, mattel?
>>11720694Jokes on them. I only buy my kids beater vintage.>Yes my son, throw Rotar down the stairs. He's gay and not in mint condition anyways.
>>11721376My son’s going to get all the “core” figures to go along with my chronicles. It’s going to be rad.
>>11721136So when the fuck does it hit stores...for real?
>>11721391Dont let the doomie zoomies try to tell you kids dont like Motu. Give a 7 year old boy a glow in the dark skeleton man with a Roton and he's going to have a blast. Mine also loved the CGI motorcycles.
>>11721340Me too sister. I couldn't give a rat's ass about these movie toys. (Unless they make the 87 movie ones.)But New Adventures just needs to be made into 5.5 form factor. Anons have tossed around the idea of NA 4 packs and that seems like a great idea. Plus make Dart-Os as a NA OC...mattel is sitting on a gold mine.
>>11721334>Arguing that being movie-original makes them exclusive also doesn't work - Adam, Randor, Orko, Trooper and Sorceress all only got made thanks to Filmation.Thank you. Thats what always bugs me about people , even the ones that like them, seemingly wanting them inextricably linked to the movie and them getting toys has to be in the context of "full movie line of movie variants". They don't need to be. No one ever says "we can't do Orko or Horde Trooper, not until we do a full cartoon accurate Filmation collection", so why does everyone seem to insist on it for Blade et al?Just do those three, vintage toy accurate, on the same red card as everyone else.
>>11721398April for the movie line (I'm starting to doubt this with lack of preorders and what not), but for this we're still waiting for Mattel to give us more details. They've only just released official images (and not even themselves).
>>11721206I heard that too, a guy at work mentioned it when I was lunch so I couldn't risk checking the thread in public. 6 hours later and I ain't no big girls dancing on my screen?!? What do y'all want me to do, use my imagination??? Fine, I imagine codi vore as Despara and Natasha nice as evil lyn, now I just need a teela, an adorable, a marleena and a she ra. We can work out the rest later.
>>11721287If it was made during the original run then it's vintage if you ask me. I like the movie but have no interest in the movie figures but they still count. I could see excluding European only releases but even then I'd love to see all of the figures made for origins, ideally even the vehicles but given how poorly they've done at retail I doubt I'm waiting on battle bones. But I'd take a carrying case. I WANT THE GIANTS, if I can't will a dylamug into production for myself and dylanon then please give me the giants.
>>11721494I am going to allow myself one cautious optimism, post-vintage completion:IF Origins does not completely die, the tooling budget for 100% new tooled characters that currently goes towards the last of vintage will not go away and they'll still see fit to give us at least two or three unique sculpts every year in between Axelshits and basic buck cartoon figures. Even if not Dylamug, there's quite a few cool options.
I use the Classics Dylamug with my Origins. He’s a bit bigger but doesn’t look off since he’s a robot.
>>11721334>>11721439If we're extending to She-Ra, I think Loo-Kee was also made for cartoon first.I mean, Blade, Gwildor and Saurod had reminder on front and back that they're from the motion picture but that's just promotion. Snake Men had similar thing.
>>11721838>mean, Blade, Gwildor and Saurod had reminder on front and back that they're from the motion picture but that's just promotion. Snake Men had similar thing.Plus, they make it very clear that the toy versions are still part of the same line and universe in all other ways >Blade is fighting toy Man At Arms and Teela, not movie versions >Minicomic features a story of continuing the "Skeletor tried to take Eternia tower" plot from other comics, with new origin for Gwildor meeting He-Man and for the creation of Blade and Saurod>All characters in said minicomic use toy designs >The Cosmic Key is literally the catalyst for unlocking Eternia 's time travel to open the gate to Preternia and kick off the PoG shitI know I'm belaboring the point but they make it clear that these guys are part of the vintage line lore and are not the same as the movie version, in the same way they handled Sorceress or Troopers that are not the exact same as the toon characters they're based on
>>11720873I sure hope he does cause a Scareglow that doesn't glow is pointless given his name and known gimmick. Yes I'm looking at you MV Scareglow.
>>11721846the fact that we've NEVER gotten a movie trooper is pissing me off
>>11721906sans this one custom, what a wasted opportunity
How would you feel if Motu got TMNT treatment and they made silly variants like Masters of the Universe soldiers or sport starts or musicians, martial artists etc.
>>11721935I've wanted exactly that ever since origins kicked off. We should never move away from the 5.5. vintage design, we should just build onto it the same way playmates did with their turtles.
>>11721330I know the movie was a dud but it's still bizarre to me that they included the likes of Gwildor and Blade in the vintage line, but avoides the opportunity to make variants of the standard cast. He-man, Skeletor, MAA, Teela, Beastman. Most of those guys could have been repaints with new armor pieces. That alone would have paid for Skeletrooper and Karg's new tooling.
>>11721941I imagine it was different mentality back then. Mattel never made another Teela, Man-At-Arms, Beast Man nor Evil-Lyn and He-Mens and Skeletors were more for their gimmicks than appearance. They didn't consider cluttering line with repaints that can't be turned into new characters.
>>11721962Yeah the Mattel execs at the time felt kids would just play with the existing versions of the figures. The 2 that didn’t get made were a Karg and Storm Trooper that had some development work done but got stopped when the movie flopped. Also weird the comic adaptation kept the toy designs as well.
>>11721897I remember telling everyone "come on guys, the paint will obviously glow, Mattel wouldn't do just the head." They just did the head. It's still a very decent looking figure overall though. Solid head sculpt. I do wonder why they can't just use the GitD plastic they use on the Origins or Masters Undertaker.
>>11721906Hoping we get it next year as a sketch series along with Karg for the Movies 40th.

>>11722346Why not? Sketchbook is for unproduced in vintage concept artThese guys are all unproduced in vintage concept art characters I don't see why being in Classics should play any part in it, unless you wanna say SBS should just stay variants and OCs should all get red carded. Seems like an arbitrary distinctionAnd the Strobo thing specifically, unless they bring back Rise of the Snake branding he'll be on a different card than Slamurai and the rest anyway. I don't really get why it would matter, as long they're released.
Are we gonna get a fourth wave of the Thundercats line? I really like it, and it still has potential past what we've already gotten
>>11722651What about the TC one?>>11722660The collab is obviously a backdoor pilot for Thundercats Origins so the core cast can already have figures ready to go.
>>11722660NO, it's over.
How much parts reuse you would accept for Haramesh? I feel like big appeal of his design comes from his freaky proportions.
>>11722739At minimum, Haramesh needs to be a 7 inch figure regardless because he's so much bigger than SkeletorAnd since the only Origins figures that big right now are just Multi-Bot and Krang (I think), you're not getting away without almost completely new tooling anywayYou could probably get away with reusing Krang's thighs and biceps at best, but that'd be the extent
>>11722660I think it’s done unfortunately. Higher chance for it now to get its own line.
>>11722658If it's existed in plastic already, its not really an unproduced "sketchbook" figure based on concept art, is it? Gygor made it to prototype stage in vintage. Strobo is such an established character that he has his own lore and has featured in media like comics and the Revolution tv series.Yeti and Horde Brain Bug? They really are blank slates that fit SBS better. At most, they have been used as Easter eggs in card art.>unless they bring back Rise of the Snake branding he'll be on a different card than Slamurai and the restThey brought it back for Terroar and Gr'asp two years after the last figure in the RotS waves. And even if they didn't bring it back, it would still be the red rock explosion cardback that most figures are on. An extra logo that may or may not be on the card like the vintage Snakemen and Horde logos isn't as much of a difference as the off-white doodle covered SBS box.>I don't really get why it would matter, as long they're releasedThat's easy to say if you have a Target that isn't a complete shitshow and don't live in one of the 194 countries that Target won't ship to. I could at least order Terroar and Gr'asp from BBTS and not worry about it. SBS might as well stand for Scalping Bastard Series for me.And vintage Origins is nearly done. What else are they gonna fill Origins with? Axelshits? Do you really want the 3-4 SBS figures each year having slots stolen by figures that would otherwise fit in the regular Origins line?
>>11722752Fair enough, I guess I don't really agree because I don't really care about anything Classics did, I care about whether or not vintage did it, nor do I take lore into consideration, and personally I don't just assume every Sketch figure will be Target forever, especially if it's a riskier proposition like Strobo or Wrap Trap, I think they'd still end up on MC ... Like Cartoon Collection being mostly retail but that didn't help Vultak. But I will say on the last point>Do you really want the 3-4 SBS figures each year having slots stolen by figures that would otherwise fit in the regular Origins line?If those 3-4 slots go to variants like they've been doing anyway, yeah. I'd let unique characters "steal" those slots
>>11722760>I don't really care about anything Classics didSure, but Classics decided that Terroar was purple and Wrap Trap has green skin, despite their only known artwork being black and white. Strobo is the color he is because of his comic. None of these can be pure "sketchbook" characters because they have been portrayed a certain way in other media and toylines, and they aren't going to change their established looks now.>especially if it's a riskier proposition like Strobo or Wrap TrapStrobo has no new molds needed. He's free real-estate. No risk at all. Wrap Trap has enough of a following that he is only a slight risk, even if he needs all new tooling. The real risk is with obscuros like Yeti or the witch that need new tooling and are known by nobody but the most hardcore fans.
>>11722781>Wrap Trap has enough of a following that he is only a slight risk, even if he needs all new tooling. They didn't even have enough faith to put actual vintage line guys like Dragstor and the Rocks at retail because of their tooling.Don't kid yourself into thinking Wrap Trap would get viewed as "slight" risk.
>>11722472Bet. I'm hoping it well relax on its own, I just don't want it to tear as it's a nice shield. I guess it was a bad batch of plastic, it was so soft and pliable like I boiled it for an hour. >>11722628K pop demon hunters? Skibidi? Idk what's popular with kids and young people currently? Are they still into BTS?
>>11722690Considering how much of the market Mattel's begun to corner and knowing there's plans for a Thundercats flick on the horizon I really wouldnt be surprised if they made the attempt. I'd almost welcome it at this point, it might give us a better looking Lion-O.Having said as much I'm still really tempted by the old Bandai figure, faults and all, it still looks the best of the later options.
>>11722628Even the "worst" options I can think of (Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters,, Star Wars) could yield one or two decent toys. At this point I much rather ask what the next best crossovers could be. DC seems highly likely, I'd be surprised if they didnt do it, but after that what's left? Alot of the ones I'd want to see are too niche (Fuerza T, Blackstarr, Thundarr, HB)
>>11722628Well, I know one that would give /MotU/ a meltdown
>>11722852I would be okay with this, but the worst one for >>11722628 would easily be Ghostbusters. I'd argue that characters cosplaying as each other is the WORST CASE scenario for a crossover, and that's all that something like Ghostbusters has to offer since apparently slime is off the table.I would be ok with Star Wars, Toy Story, Conan, or Hot Wheels but I know most of these will never happen. Most likely we'll get GIJoe or DC.
>>11722852I doubt it. Even when it rolled out it was mostly apathy. They tried to drum up their was hatred but even here most just didn't give a damn. That's the dark comedy of all this is they and Smith's Heman series think they have haters when the reality is no one gave a real shit. They still don't, roll that out if you want, hell I bet most don't even know the series is no longer streaming. In fact I do know that because 0 threads have been made about it and I keep an eye on that. Now I imagine there will be now that I told you, but up until this point it was so unwanted that no one even knows it's gone.
>>11722359It's so fucking tragic that the man who created one of the biggest toylines ever has to ask people to get comfortable at the end of his days, but yeah I'm donating, dude created something that has brought me joy since I was a kid, it'd be wrong if I didn't.

>>11723107That's what I've read here, but they are in the comic and I think the backer card art on stonedar. In the past that's been a tip off to an upcoming release. It would also be a reason for me to look forward to buying a stonedar other than for pure collection fodder and completion. Which I think is a crummy reason to buy a figure for me on a personal level.

>>11724696Junkyard Dog was a huge deal in the early 80s in Midsouth Wrestling, a wrestling company which was one of the big wrestling companies of the pre-WWF era and a spiritual predecessor to Jim Crockett Promotions, which became WCW.He was a super popular black wrestler that Midsouth owner Bill Watts built up from day one, positioning him as "the guy" he intended to build his company around. But Junkyard left without warning one night, for the WWF with the rumor being that Junkyard (while in a bathroom stall) secretly caught Watts and one of his underlings enter said bathroom while unaware that JD was in the stall, referring to JD as the n-word when talking about how JD owed his entire career to Watts and would never leave him fir the WWF.

Have the Legends of Dragonore guys ever showed any intent to either make articulated figures like Origins or larger scale articulated figures like Chronicles/Masterverse? It'd be interesting to see.
>>11725553I kinda love their new guy - Emberor, you can remove fireball from his head and launch it in catapult.

>>11725553>Have the Legends of Dragonore guys ever showed any intent to either make articulated figuresThey have stated repeatedly when asked at shows they have zero interest in doing more articulated figures
>>11724464>Sgt. Slaughter - military drill seargent, used as a character in G.I. JoeThe closest thing to GI Joe crossover so far.
>>11725553
>>11725606
>>11725575A decent first look at the figure. We've heard it before, but we got further confirmation about smooth 'import-style' like articulation, so that's great. He said no thigh swivel but I'd assume there might be an inner thigh swivel (though I can't see anything). Range of motion seems good too, but we'll have to wait til someone that really poses to see the maximal range it can get.
>>11725608>>11725606I feel like an aspie saying it but the articulation is very much welcome...what are these?
>>11725575The range of the neck looks fantastic, which is something that was massively missing from Masterverse.>>11725606>>11725608These look pretty nice, but these look like just homages to He-Man and Skeletor, of which there are tons from Origins so not very needed, I'd say. >>11725593That's alright, some people rather stick with the aesthetic they prefer.
>>11725178I'm looking to get him to test out the Chronicles line. Maybe it can sway me since I have a lot of masterverse and thus am stuck in 7in
>>11725667Unless you stand them straight up, the difference isn't so big that they probably won't look fine next to each other.
>>11725667The canonically bigger guys should scale no problem with chronicles.
>>11725824Adding to this This is by design for collectors to slowly transition into the smaller scale. You’ll buy a couple then start replacing masterverse because these are just better.
>>11725827Same approach with first ones
>>11725824>>11725827I wouldn't be too surprised if the classic non movie characters do tend to be a bit bigger. Are you telling me that He-Man would be as tall as Spider-Man? If he was less than 6'5 I'd be surprised. If we're saying that 6' is 6.5" (because size creep sure has happened) then near 7" would be accurate. Variable heights are good anyways, especially if we'll have more unique sculpting like SG has.
>>117258316.5 baseline for males6+ females
>>11725606>>11725608I'd cum in my pants if the Dragonore guys end up making Fuerza T origins
>>11725605GI Joe has to be in the pipeline right? Especially now that Matty's got a working relationship with both Hasbro and Paramount, it just seems like a no-brainer for 2028. Hell they might sidestep the DC crossover just to cover the Joes first.
>>11725561I'm probably the only guy thinking about stuff like this but Jack Kirby's estate owns alot of his independent characters. Formo could do a whole Kirbyverse Dragonore line if they wanted, maybe even expand it to include PD/other indie capes. It could be cool.
>>11725495Not really. I'm pretty pleased with the bucks as is. More articulation would just ruin the silhoutte
>>11725846Have we ever got official heights for MotU? That's around what I'd picture for a true 1/12, most women around 6', most men around 6'3 (and She-Ra), He-Man something like 6'6, etc.
>>11725561I'm so mad I missed out on the viking guy from galaxy warriors on bbts. Shipping sucks everywhere else.
The guy I wanted to buy a replacement Revelation Battlecat head cast from hasn't responded to the DM I send him and it's been several weeks so I'm assuming he either can't fulfill orders or he doesn't think I'm a serious buyer, so now I'm considering the alternative of just modifying the head on my own Battlecat and re-modeling it with apoxie sculpt. I have some experience with sculpting although something this would be a challenge. I think if I print up some big high quality reference images of a real tiger snarling I could make it work, though? Especially since i'd be cutting away and rescuilpting the existing head to some extent, not starting from scratch. I can also give it glass eyes which is something that I wouldn't get from a 3D print or a casting.
>>11725178I am definitely grabbing Scare Glow, he looks like he'll fit in great with my Masterverse figures, and the sculpt is so far beyond the previous Masterverse figure.
So you know how that new Dark Horse comic is building itself on the premise of explaining the purple power sword that came with vintage Skeletor? Are there any other vintage toyline elements that usually get omitted or overlooked in adaptations that you'd like to see them work into the story and acknowledge? Doesn't have to be a huge plot driver like the sword thing For me a big one is Buzz-off's wings having circuitry. Did he have his wings torn off and replaced, or did he and his people never have natural wings in the first place? Does it give him extra abilities like faster flight or a buzzing sonic attack to dizzy enemies? Most shows and comics just treat it as his whole race including him just have natural wings, it'd be nice to see them play up the wings tech aspect. Snake Mountain 's ability to talk is another one I'd like to see them utilize in the story

Masterverse is getting retired, they have a half dozen lines in the works ready for this new movie, and Origins is on pause for 2026. It makes me uneasy.I've been wondering a lot lately about Origins will be like once vintage is done. Like, everyone of us has our personal agenda and wishlist about what Origins could do or should do, or are pessimistic enough to think vintage ending = the line getting cancelled, but what will Mattel ACTUALLY do? (Rhetorical question, I don't expect anyone to actually be able to answer)
>>11727799With two new lines, I'm expecting that they'll finish vintage and consider that fulfilling their promise to collectors: no more Origins. No Adora matching the other three family members, no more PoP, Lizard Man, Goat Man, NA...
>>11727833>>11727799Checked and digits confirm: they're dumping origins (the thing everyone likes) to push the new lines. This could easily be the result of poor sales ....... Good thing they made RED SHADOW!!!!
>>11727833It will end after another bunch of Axel OC's.
>>11727833I'm preparing to be done after vintage regardless of whether or not Origins continues just because I've got no reason to assume that Mattel will make stuff I actually want to buy. Like if Origins were to technically continue but be 100% cartoon collection figures, i'd check out. I'm really only interested in buying things made to go with the regular collection , like Frog Monger, Stingor and Reptilax were designed to be. Out of the things you listed I'd really only expect Goat Man to be a regular figure, the rest would all end up toon collection. Of course, if I'm wrong, I'd stick around for a bit then
>>11727867The silver lining being that if they're dumping it, they'll speed run the last of vintage to get it over with, so Two Bad, the Lasers, The Zoids and the movie guys will be over the next 6 or so months with no filler. Can't simultaneously dump something and spread it out over multiple years, because that's not "dumping"
>>11727833It'd be weird to drop Origins when Superstars is actively using the buck and selling well enough. The god damn (second) greatest tag team in '80s WWF aka Demolition should be out everywhere in the next couple of months with Ax, Smash, Crush, and even Hacksaw Jim has his Demolition tag team face paint as an alt bonus head the year he won King of the Ring.>Road Warriors forever #1 with special mention of the Bushwhackers
>>11727873I just want more characters on the origins body. Decently articulated 5.5. figures are nothing to turn your nose up at. If it boils down to just the occasional retail exclusive crossover line then so be it, but dont cut it out entirely. Now I'm wondering if the eventual DC and GI Joe crossovers will be Origins styled or look closer to these 2026 figures.
>>11727763Bud, I'll try to grab one for you IF I find one. Walmart and motu are the best pairing, and the one I work at does not sell toys at a high volume so we don't get most things unless it's a refresh and then they will get one case of whatever is supposed to be on the pegs. Man, it's bittersweet to imagine that origins could be wrapping up. It's been a good time. >>11727946Maybe we could get a special Johnny Ace figure? Dude is a piece of back stabbing trash in human skin but he was solid in japan. I think he developed the stunner.
I'm bummed about origins but it makes me want to finally jump on other lines like Formo Toys, Boss Fight and Frazetta Girls' 5.5inch lines. Nothing is as cheap or posable as origins though. And well I fucjing love motu characters
Masterverse isn't dead just yet, apparently.
>>11727873>Out of the things you listed I'd really only expect Goat Man to be a regular figure, the rest would all end up toon collection. The original Origins -> Cartoon Collection hasn't been ideal, but the female buck stayed the exact same size, so as someone who collected Origins and not the earlier Classics, not getting every Great Rebellion woman, Scorpia, Octavia and Entrapta when Classics did is going to sting.

>>11727799>I've been wondering a lot lately about Origins will be like once vintage is done.I think it depends on whether the movie is a hit.Look at it this way: doing a run of Strobo, Plasmar or an Axel OC just takes a new steel mold for a head at most. That's as cheap as action figure production gets, as long as the Vietnamese labor doesn't have to apply a lot of paint apps. So why not keep Origins running forever with such inexpensive drops on Mattel Creations?Because MC MotU figures don't sell out anymore. Instead of nearly pure profit, they become a warehouse storage cost in addition to even a low production cost. But if the movie makes MotU toys popular, an MC exclusive line can get a bigger budget than the MC exclusives for, say, Monster High, which currently has a more robust fandom but little media support.

>>11729171If Mattel was smart, they'd link Origins to the new comic, because what sense does it make to launch a comic set in a "classic line" universe when the classic toyline is (potentially) wrapping up? What I'd do is, now that they've rereleased He-Man and Skeletor, I'd also reissue the other ones important to the current plot: Tri-klops, Evil-lyn, Sorceress and Orko. I would also point to this comic when hyping up that Gray figure because the most recent issue was delving into his backstory. After the current arc, we've seen Two Bad on the cover of the first issue of the next arc, so I'd announce him in the next month or two to line up with that. And then once I've gotten people to associate the comic and the toyline for cross promotion, I'd work close with the writer so that we can have the characters he chooses to highlight correspond with toy releases to both move releases and to build hype for new characters Ex) have him write a Horde arc that heavily features Grizzlor, Stingor and Dylamug as the henchmen. Line up a Grizzlor rerelease with this arc. Sell a bunch of Grizzlors and also entice people to get some of those Stingors out of the warehouse and then leave them thinking "kinda wish I had a Dylamug, now, too" and THEN spring a Dylamug toy announcement and it would probably generate more excitement than just cold dropping him. Have the comic and toys feed into each other now that, lets be real, every character from here on out will get viewed as barrel scraping by a lot of more casual fans. New comic appearances, as long as they aren't treated as cannon fodder or cameos, could build their profiles and move them into being more desirable.
Any idea if kneepads on WWE figures come off?>>11729415By that logic we should be getting Strobo, Photog, Procrastus, Crimson Countess, Eldor and giants soon.
>>11729432And Gygor!
>>11729432Yes, kneepads can be removed. And I wish. The way the comic has used them all they've been throwaway appearances that even IF they got toys, the comic did a poor job of making them seem like characters you'd want a toy of. If I'm not a guy already wanting a Strobo figure, seeing him playing cards for one panel isnt going to sell me on him. Same with Demo-Man and Countess.Photog and Gygor both needed more to do. They didn't quite reach "needs a toy" level of use, but they did enough for me to want to see them come back and do more. And funny enough, they got my attention with Vypor, and he's a guy I've shit on in previous threads. More of him and Hiss interacting might eventually sell me on buying his toyProcrustus they did a relatively good job with, he was the central feature of his issue...but then they fucking ended with killing him. Come the fuck on.
>>11728512what's wrong with the paint?
>>11729415>>11729441Yeah, this is true. Show off figures you want to sell in a monthly comic if you have one.Unfortunately just making anyone below the B-list a cameo has been a problem since the 2010s DC comic that Freddie Williams III and his partners doing the writers have continued.
>>11729737Is Fisto OK
>>11718774Absolutely fucking inexcusable that the street date for the MOTU movie figures is so fucking far away for no good fucking reason. These figures shouldve been out in fucking march but they wont come out until they very end of april. Fuck target, fuck mattel, and fuck useless fucking street dates!

>>11730295Manufacturer SUGGESTED Retail Price...
>>11730295>>11730295>>11730389Target are cheap bastards
Has anyone else found a Fright zone in ROSS of DDs? Went every day last week and no luck.
>>11730161That's not too long away. They want the toys to be fresh once the movie drops, but at the same time you're kind of right, wave 1 out now, wave 2 drops same month as the movie. Excited moviegoers can go to shelves and see both He-Man and Skeletor and others on shelves.
>>11730460Its fucking bullshit tho since mando and grogu comes out only like two weeks before the MOTI movie comes out yet if this info is correct the motu movie toys come out a whole month after the mando movie toys come out since the motu movie toys might be street dated for april 25th while we know the mandalorian and gorgu toys are street dated for march 22nd. Its absolutely fucking retarded that they dont come out around the same time as one another compared to their movie release dates. Id understand the MOTU movie toys coming out two weeks after the mando toys do since the motu movie comes out two weeks after the mando movie does but it seems absolutely retarded to miss the mark so much and only have the toys out for such a brief amount of time before the motu movie where as the mando movie has their toys out much long before its respective movie releases.Hell they clearly HAVE THE TOYS READY TO GO APPARENTLY as evidenced by that gold skeletor leak but they stubbornly refuse to put them out widely for no good reason
>>11730439Nada, but DDs is an hour drive to check. In my experience DDs gets like 1 per store of these kind of things. Like good Playmobil $150 sets for $30 they get like 1 of if you're lucky
>>11730389Its these gougers that are making toy lines flop among kids, theyre making it so only adults care enough to spend what theyre asking
New bake fucking when
>>11730475Don't worry, anon. The MOTU movie will do fine. It doesn't need toys out there ahead of time to compete with Mando and Yeed. People are pretty bored of Mando by now.
>>11730798But i shouldnt have to wait so long for the toys
>>11730970This is the American mentality on toys. But many other countries like to savor the flavor of the preorder as it grills slowly to perfection over the year.
this listing is still here only to taunt me.
>>11731029Faggot.
Any ideas why March 19th is so busy at Mattel Creations including MotU and WWE?
>>11731160Walmart Con starts the 19th. There's also MegaCon orlando that day.
>>11731308Well it's not MegaCon. So maybe WM has the exclusives and MC is also putting them up on the site same day. So Gold style Skeletor from the movie 5.5" First line.Gold Skeletor and Samurai 200X He-Man are the best choices in awhile for WM. No one will really give a shit if you miss them unlike Flocked Moss Man, ToG Merman or the two snake singles.
>>11731316>Gold Skeletor and Samurai 200X He-Man are the best choices in awhile for WMDon’t forget chronicles scare glow
Question If street date for movie figures are April 25th why the fuck haven’t we gotten any preorders yet?
>>11731160>>11731308March 19th is the Mattel Creations Revealed event. That's why they're busy.It has nothing to do with any other cons simultaneously runningAnd all their site listings say "Creations Exclusive Design", so no, it's not going to be Walmart Exclusives in their site. The whole point of the event is shilling their own website.
They're already discounting random 200x origins on amazon...
>>11731347In store probably takes precedence to billboard for the movie
>>11731538Glad I waited. It’s an unfortunate end if it doesn’t continue after the next wave but at least we’re getting teela. Disappointed no trapjaw or buzz off

>>11731743only just went up today
>>11728399You should try ordering Samurai He-Man. Hes getting canceled like he's called "Cultural Appropriation He-Man.Canceled as if He-Man showed up drunk in front of the Council of Eternia, ranting why he has the right to take and break other nations' artifacts.Canceled as if he wore blueface on Halloween for a Faker costume.Canceled as if He-Man explained that the Iron Cross on his chest was inspired by stories Marlena told about Earth.Canceled as if he said, "I can use that word; some of my best friends are winged monkeys.".Canceled as if he claimed that Trollans weren't wiped out in Revelation, and even if they did, they deserved it for being so annoying.
Who's willing to bed Grayskull Ring is a real thing in Castle Grayskull dungeon and guys like Frog Monger fight each other there all day?

Reminds me I saw youtube complaining that if you tilt too far Stephanie's head, her tits will push against her mask and launch it across the room. Someone should try working it into actual action feature.
We’re really dragging this thread to the 17th huh

Some new Mattel Brick Shop set info!Mattel Brick Shop Masters of the Universe figure details from Castle Grayskull & Snake Mountain sets (with the Fright Fighter that has yet to have a description)With the piece count versus the figure count, I'm not sure if those 'new micro-world figures in dynamic poses' are articulated, or if their dynamic poses are called that way because they switch poses from figure-to-figure across several figures that are static. The Fright Fighter though is a helicopter which signifies the highest likelihood of the old micro action figure system since it's so small compared to Castle Grayskull & Snake Mountain which are entire fortresses. There are 3 outcomes:1.) The 'new micro-world figures' is just a re-name of the current micro action figure system. That is the best scenario. Maybe the Fright Fighter could carry that legacy if the other 2 sets don't due to it's small size.2.) It is an entirely new figure system. Whether it's larger than the micro action figure system or more or less articulated remains to be seen.3.) Worse case scenario is that they standardise the 1x1 stud static figure system. You know, the 1x1 Cortana, Roland, Vault Boy, & Squid Game's Pink Soldiers. While I'm not against that, I am hoping it won't be a cop-out against the micro action figure system. Then again, eyes on the Fright Fighter unless they decide to make that one come with a 1x1 Skeletor figure lol which would be laughable.
>>11733184There's also the havoc staff set and possibly a buildable battle cat set.
>>11733184>1.) The 'new micro-world figures' is just a re-name of the current micro action figure systemIs that like Mighty Max?
>>11726117based
>>11733184>>1173318516 and 12 mini figures doesn't sound right if they're the current Mega figures. What a damn shame if they don't continue that style of figure.
>>11733400 I do not like the sound of this. It sounds like they are gimping the current MEGA figures.
>>11733097There was a whole ass episode explaining that armour that was actually pretty good.
>>11733184>>11733185Right now the full line-up of MBS MotU movie sets seems to be the following:>Buildable Display Havoc Staff>Buildable Display Power Sword>Buildable Display Skeletor bust>Castle Grayskull with micro world figures>Snake Mountain with micro world figures>Roton (display set?)>Fright Fighter (display set?)>Buildable Display Battle CatIt seems Mattel gave up on kids and Mattel Brick Shop will gear towards teens/adults instead.
